Whether we're aware of it or not, we are creating an environment for ourselves in the way we live our lives. And the kind of environment we create for ourselves, for our marriages, for families, and for our relationship with Jesus, matter because we are at war. In this message, Director of Student Ministry Justin Ruszkiewicz highlights the profound impact of living with integrity and aligning our choices with God's Word, urging us to assess, obey, and endure in the face of challenges. A hilarious comedic skit! Also fascinating this week is NASA’s discovery that large thunderstorms are emitting gamma radiation! They discovered this by flying a repurposed U-2 spy plane over many thunderstorms with very sensitive radiation detectors. What could this mean? Fruit fly brains are smaller than a poppy seed, but that doesn't mean they aren't complex. For the first time, researchers have published a complete diagram of 50 million connections in an adult fruit flies brain. The journal Nature simultaneously published nine papers related to this new brain map. Until now, only a roundworm and a fruit fly larva had been mapped in this way.Read more of science correspondent Jon Hamilton's reporting here. Want to know more about the future of brain science? These tiny insects, which reproduce at an astonishing rate, often invade our kitchens. They are particularly attracted to damp areas, stagnant water, organic waste, and ripe fruit—especially in warm weather. Fruit flies, or midges, can lay up to 100 eggs a day. While studies indicate that flies can carry bacteria, viruses, and parasites, the midges in our homes are generally harmless. They can transmit bacteria and minor food-borne viruses, but rarely cause serious diseases. This is reassuring, but it doesn't mean we want them around! So, how can you get rid of them? Are they a health hazard? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! To listen to the last episodes, you can click here: What are the biggest misconceptions on beating heatwaves? Where does the hatred towards Epigenetics, Jean-Baptiste de Lamarck, The Inheritance of Acquired Characteristics and finally Lysenko come from, where and how did it begin? Today we will launch an assault of historical revelations against a mystified truism of genetics and heredity which unless you were born before 1950 have always already been the dominant mode of thinking. We will investigate the earliest Sci-fi and the experimental science of the 1920s as we go looking for the Neo-Darwinists who in their blind appropriation discarded the materialist core of Charlie's teaching and replaced it with a metaphysical alchemical preformationism. We will go through NKVD files on the mountaineers case, read Evola and his alpine meditations, frighten ourselves with body-less living dog heads, crypts in princely villas of the bourgeoisie quarters of Moscow were people are said to be frozen alive. We will finally learn how the Rockefellers and its Fruit Fly Mafia made its way in to the USSR and who became their recruited intellectuals, linking up of course with the very heart and centre of underground anti-soviet activity. This and a lot more awaits you on this coming three hour journey. Enjoy!
