I (Northern One), have thought of so many ways to introduce this: The finest rower of his generation is joined by Drew Ginn, Andrew McNeil, Anthony Bergelin and Lewin Hynes to ... You know - that tongue-in-cheek quippy thing that you've come to expect from your Northern Correspondent while your Southern Correspondent (Lewin) does all of the science-y bits and the intelligent questions. Or, something like: The world's finest rowing podcast (Crossy's Corner excluded. We'll not hear a word said against Martin. He's a living legend) returns and gives three unknowns from a land down under a chance to talk about shovelling a boat backwards down a river ... You know - the self-deprecating / self-aggrandising stuff that we do so well on Broken Oars Podcast (while also being, you know, the best rowing podcast in the world ... ). But I can't. Because, ladies and gentlemen (and children of all ages), we bring to you: THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN ROUNDTABLE! It's our first ever roundtable, and we're not sure we'll ever be able to top it. Why? Not just because it's taken over a year to organise, but because your genial Southern One (Lewin) and your genially-grumpy Northern one (Aaron) are joined by Anthony Bergelin, Andrew McNeil and Drew Ginn. Yes, this is an absolute brains trust of rowing and performance, and you, like us, get to join in with one of the best conversations about rowing you're every likely to hear, but unlike most in the field, Berge, Drew and Macca come at these elements from the refreshing perspective of engaging with and enjoying what you're doing first, and connecting who you're doing it with ... because if you tick those boxes, the first two will surely follow. So, strap in, buckle up, and tune in to hear about the early years, why culture is not something you write on a piece of paper but live through your values; why lightweights are bitter and twisted; why the club system is so, so important; about how connection is all, not just to the water, but to those around you: how you build trust by empowering people to have a voice; why why is the most important question you can ask (and if people say 'because I say so' you're in the wrong place); why feel beats data in rowing when data in rowing doesn't also feel; why more mileage doesn't equal better rowers but buying a frisbee just might; how great coaches give of themselves, while lesser ones might take or look to over-control; that being fast going in straight lines is great, but rowing on rivers where there's a beer and bbq waiting for you at the end might just be the thing you're looking for; how jumping in a boat with the juniors or the masters lads and lasses doesn't take away from you as a senior (believe us, if one of the greatest to ever do it is not just willing but vocal about diving in with a mate's daughter and enjoying it, you should be too ... ); music, patterns, rowers vs. athletes, the athletic mindset, running thought experiments on yourself, and training back in the curiosity and love of life you had trained out of you by the 'this is how you do it ...' approach. Seriously, get a notebook, get a pen, get a cup of coffee and take notes. Berge, Macca and Drew are about to change your lives. The Broken Oars listenership is a generous and giving one, so if you could follow back to vsk.org.au, and support their and Drew's work, we'd appreciate it. Cancer will hit 1 in every 2 of us at some point in our lives, so if it doesn't hit us, it's likely to affect someone close to us ... so let's get in this fight and push back. And hit the guys up on Twitter with your comments, thoughts and feedback - or just to let them know how much they absolutely SMASHED this: @Bergeonline @drewginn @andrewsmcneil Ladies and Gentlemen, we give you: THE GREAT AUSSIE ROUNDTABLE! A year in the making? Totally worth it! (Redgrave, Pinsent, Cracknell ... ? Or more likely Hodgey, Pete and Alex? The ball's in your court ... ). Stern four? Quiet. Bow four. Easy oars. You're in the presence of greatness.

The Drive PODCAST HR 2 "Hodgey Shares Some Bets" 10/20/22 by FOX Sports Knoxville
Pat & Heals speak with AFL Legend Luke Hodge who previews the clash between the Lions & Melbourne as Hodgey believes there will still be plenty of lip between the two sides but "they both know now where the line is" plus he backs Jack Riewoldt signing on for a 17th season.
After a lot of clamour from many of the podcast's fans to get Juan Arango back on to talk about the club's latest South American import, Marcelino Núñez, (as we understand, it's pretty much over the line) #HodgeOnNodge is happy to oblige as the legend himself joins Hodgeythehack fo a second straight pod. Arango, a commentator and South American football expert, runs the rule over the talented Chilean international, who has racked up nine caps at international level in less than a year. At 22, he's poised for a big move after playing a starring role in recent seasons for Universidad Católica. As with the previous podcast about Gabriel Sara, all of the key questions are answered about Núñez and Juan has some very interesting insights into a player who has had a very interesting journey up to this point – it's been a proper rags-to-riches story for the creative midfield maestro. Hodgey also asks Juan about how the pair could work together for Norwich City in a comprehensive podcast which will hopefully bring some joy after the season-opening defeat at Cardiff. Nathan Buckley was the first guest to join Sam Edmund on Wednesday morning, and the two chatted about the 'arms out' furore, why players stage for free kicks, Hawthorn's preparation for their match against Geelong and more. From one champion to another, Luke Hodge was Sammy's next guest and Hodgey explained why Geelong fans shouldn't be worried after their loss to Hawthorn, and they also discussed Taylor Walker's MRO comments and Toby Greene's upcoming return on Friday night. After speaking to Carlton star defender Jacob Weitering about their start to the year, he finished the show by catching up with horse trainer Wayne Hawkes.
Duncan Hodge was a hero of mine, not that much older than me, same position, but doing good things in the game at a young age. He won a Calcutta Cup single handed(!) and went on to become a fantastic coach.I always enjoy speaking to Hodgey and very recently have been privileged to coach alongside him, learning a huge amount as I go.As he embarks on the next chapter of his life, I was delighted he made some time for a chat, I loved it. Hodge On Nodge is back after a six-week break, and Hodgeythehack is back to discuss the imminent arrival of a replacement for Daniel Farke as Norwich City boss. Hodgey is joined by Andy Ward, ITV Anglia sports presenter, to the discuss the various names that have emerged on a dramatic day of managerial links – with a particular focus on early front-runner Frank Lampard.
After a 7 week hiatus, the lads have returned with a new edition of Balls & Bumpers. Since we last spoke Jack has brought up his 300th AFL game with COVID costing him real celebrations and genuine $$$ - Scotty is preparing for a big weekend of racing in the States and is hoping to get back to Australia for Bathurst. Meanwhile, Hodgey is steering the ship and down in the dumps about his Magpies.
Hodgeythehack is back with Hodge On Nodge! After a hiatus, the popular https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/ncfc (#NCFC) podcast returns as we look to learn more about Pierre Lees-Melou. The French midfielder was on target from range against Gillingham last night and has looked red hot in preseason. Of course, friendlies can be deceptive though and with that in mind, Hodgeythehack has invited on Jonathan Johnson, an expert in all matters French football, to learn more about his background and what we can expect from him in the weeks and months ahead. Thanks to all my loyal viewers/listeners for returning to the pod – Hodgey.
Today we take a look back on Daniel Farke's four years as Norwich City head coach in episode 50 of the Norwich Talk podcast! We decided a combined XI of all the talent he's had at his disposal throughout his tenure would be the most creative way to talk about the man and the job he has done. Essentially the XI's will be this year's title winning squad + James Maddison, right. Only kidding... well kind of. We're joined by Seth Ballard (infamously wrong about everything) and Hodgey aka Hodgeythehack. We've also collected XI's from some of NCFC's wisest minds (and Connor Southwell) such as The Athletic's Michael Bailey, Dave Freezer of the Pink Un, Benjamin Bloom & some in-house folk.
The Drive rolls on today by talking about the biggest headlines of the day and then gets into some Tennessee/Texas game talk! The guys get you ready for the game tomorrow and then switch gears. They talk all things US Open with Hodgey, and then check in with the CWS!
The #HodgeOnNodge podcast says ¡Adios Emi! Hodgeythehack is joined by football journalist Adam Brandon and Steve Sanders (@ncfcnumbers) to bid farewell to one of the best #NCFC players of this century and perhaps ever: Emi Buendía. Adam is a writer and analyst of South American Football based in Chile. He has supported Norwich for over 30 years and was a Season Ticket holder in the Barclay and regular away-tripper in the nineties and noughties. You can find his updates on Chilean football on World Football Index where he is regular on the South American Football Show. Steve is the man behind the fabulous @ncfcnumbers Twitter account, the go-to for any Norwich City stats fans. He is also a massive Emi Buendía fan and one of Hodgey's best mates. Together we gather to reflect on Buendía's fabulous three years in yellow and green.
The boys are back! Jack Riewoldt has added "mark of the century" to his already glamorous CV, and he also has an update on where his next contract is at! Scotty recaps his debut at the Indy500 and will be better prepared next year, will he return to Bathurst later this year? That's all up in the air. Hodgey wants to know who's the next coach of his beloved Pies, plus there's plenty more!
Hodgeythehack joins us for a slightly different podcast as we discuss the launch of his Norwich City podcast 'Hodge on Nodge.' Hodgey welcomed former City manager Alex Neil on as his first guest of which is a point of discussion as well as where his love for the biggest team in East Anglia originated. We also talk about Mario Vrancic & Alex Tettey following the news that they'll be leaving Norwich at the end of this season.
It's all about Scotty McLaughlin and oval racing on this edition of Balls & Bumpers! Our honorary Aussie produced a stellar display to finish on the podium behind his idol Scott Dixon. In the AFL world, the Tigers are in a Grand Final rematch this week vs. Geelong. Jack beat up on Scott's Doggies, and Hodgey can barely look at the AFL ladder as the Magpies are languishing 2nd from the bottom.
The Tigers are in a bit of trouble at the moment after losing their last 2 matches. Hodgey’s Magpies are under the torch as well, over in the States – Scotty McLaughlin is all the rage and in the spotlight ahead of his first race in his debut IndyCar season this weekend. He takes us into his mindset, through his car and meeting some of his idols across the last 6 months. Plus all your favourite segments are back – Jack’s top 5, favourite golf course and plenty more!

Ep.16 It's very apt that I should have the amazing Pete Reed on the show this week, as things are really ramping up for the Race the Thames challenge which starts on 22nd March. Pete is front and centre of the fundraising, alongside his former crewmate Andy Triggs Hodge (who I interviewed a few weeks ago here) with his Paravengers team. For those who don't know him, Pete is a three-time Olympic rowing champion (and multiple World Champion), as well as a Commander in the Royal Navy. In 2019 he suffered a spinal stroke, out of the blue, which paralysed him from the waist down, and since then he's been in rehab. He spoke extensively and candidly to Sir Matthew Pinsent about the stroke and life in the immediate aftermath in a brilliant BBC interview, which you can find on BBC Sounds, so I left that aspect of Pete's life in Matthew's capable hands. Instead, Pete and I chat about:Where he is now and life in rehabDeveloping an attitude to cope with change and uncertaintyWhat Pete finds most difficult - managing people's expectationsWhether a rowing coach or a rehab physio is a harder taskmasterHow being an athlete prepared the way for his current challengesStrength of character - nature or nurtureLife in a wheelchair - the dos and don'ts when you meet someone in a chairPhotography and approaching people for portraitsThe progress of his rehab*GOTR exclusive* - his new role with the Royal NavyBuilding ethical fitnessRowing in a pair with Andrew Triggs HodgeRace the ThamesYou can support Pete and his Paravengers crew in Race the Thames here. The crowdfunder started by Andy Triggs Hodge to help Pete to afford basic adaptations and equipment is here.

On the latest Anfield Index Podcast, Trev Downey, John Farrell, Karl Coppack and producer Guy Drinkel bring you another wide-ranging discussion about the champions of England, Europe and the world. As ever, by way of a season review, there's a great deal of Reds-centric footy chat but it's this lot and you know the conversation will be broad. From John's magnificent Daniel Farke impression and anecdotes about Belo Horizonte, to Karl's heartbreaking reiteration of the Brian Blessed Voicemail Disaster, to Trev railing against cancel culture and Hodgey, there's something for See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

**Late winners never get easier to digest. Back with furious vengeance and righteous anger, Bill is upset because Joe went to the gym before work, while Joe suffers with traffic, cold coffee and a rock hard bagel as a result. We gush over seeing I Love You Man again and riding bikes with Neil Peart. Joe tries to dissect Bill's logic for changing his posters around while he helped Hodgey out with his gaming addiction. We watch the Chips movie and find out what Joe did with Neve Campbell's milk moustache. On Monday, Hawthorn veteran Luke Hodge announced his retirement from AFL. He will play out the last seven rounds. This weekend's match against the Cats will be Hodge's 300th in what has been a career full of amazing highs. Four flags, a couple of Norm Smith Medals, multiple All-Australian nods and most importantly, a Fantasy footy staple of our sides for more than a decade. The former Hawthorn skipper has a career high of 159 Fantasy points scored against the Western Bulldogs in 2015. That same year yielded his best Fantasy return. An average of 111 from his 17 matches. Hodge's career average is currently 89.7. This season the 33-year-old has knocked up four tons so far for an average of 90.4. Roy, Calvin and Warnie pay tribute to one of their favourite footballers on this week's episode of the podcast. They discuss his career and thank him for the insight he has given the Fantasy community over the years. Also in this week's podcast: - How round 16 played out - Fantasy news including injuries, suspensions, break evens, "Magoos news" and more - Interesting trade scenarios - Social media questions answered - A look ahead to what Calvin thinks will be another high scoring round

The third and final batch of DPPs are revealed and the boys talk through who are the best options to bring in over the last six rounds. How do you prioritise your trades? Should I be looking unique? Who should I make captain this week? Those questions are answered and a whole lot more on the official AFL Fantasy podcast with Roy, Calvin and Warnie. http://afl.com.au/fantasy
A mixed up round in regards to meaning this week, we try to make sense of it all. With finals not too far away, it's looking like a real race from the flag, with 5th to 8th all gaining momentum. The Power show everybody that they could have played finals if they wanted to, while Hodgey tries to take a scalp home with him. Tigers have a feast at the MCG, while misunderstood Dustin Martin offers the Collingwood faithful a sign of peace for still being there in the 4th quarter. Are we still calling it the battle of the bridge? That's a crap name, we have to come up with something better for GWS v Swans. However, we don't.
