That and Game Show Network.From an early age my passion for food, culinary arts (and apparently game shows?) ran through my veins and through it I became Food Network Obsessed. Over the years I watched food trends, and the network, evolve and it's such an incredible transformation to look back on! If you are anything like me you have your favorite chefs, shows and of course recipes. Through it all, probably all wondering a bit about what they are like behind the scenes, too! Todays' guest Jaymee Sire, is the host of Food Networks podcast, Food Network Obsessed. Her journey there was anything by linear, but a story of opportunity and pivots through a lay off and burn out. Her expertise in interviewing and media took on a new face and lead her to a robust career on all of our favorite network! In honor of his new show Battle of the Decades, Jonathan Bennett reflects back on the decades that raised him. Jonathan reveals that some of his earliest food memories revolve around Campbell's soup and Applebee's lemonade. The actor shares what it's like for him to witness the revival of fashion staples that he grew up with from the 80s. He shares some of the comedy movies that inspired him as a child to want to perform and ignited his passion to make people laugh. Jonathan recalls asking his father to build him a stage as opposed to a treehouse, where he would go on to perform for his family for a small entrance fee. He dishes on his high school theater career, remembering fondly how it served as a safe space for him to be himself. The 2000s icon claims that his parents always knew he'd be an actor, so they weren't surprised when he left his liberal arts college to pursue a career in New York City. He remembers landing his first role in TV and his many Food Network hosting gigs that led him to his newest one, Battle of the Decades. Jaymee Sire currently hosts Food Network's first and only podcast “Obsessed”, the culmination of her nearly 20-year career in TV and media. With most of her experience in sportscasting around the country, she helped launch and anchor the morning installment of ESPN'S SportsCenter. But Jaymee had always cultivated other passions.  She was into cooking from a very young age and had started slowly pursuing a career in food media while she was at ESPN.  You may have seen her more recently as a guest host on Beat Bobby Flay, or as floor reporter for Iron Chef Showdown. And now, the Montana native who lives in Brooklyn, NY, also owns her own media company, creating content for brands focusing on food and her other big obsession - travel.  In this episode, Jaymee opens up about how she regrouped and transitioned after being part of ESPN's massive round of on-air layoffs in 2017.  Jaymee also shares how she developed the mindset to make an almost immediate pivot from 16 years in sports news to prominent positions in food media.
