Several years after being betrayed by the people she trusted the most, Johnell joins Tarek to share her story no one else has ever made space for. From her partner to her best friends, the people she thought would always be there seemed to turn their back on her when she needed them most. Struggling to navigate this betrayal and the responsibility of becoming a new mother, she was forced to move on, but so many words were left unsaid. Words, feelings, anger, and sadness that never faded, just bottled up inside of her. In this episode, Tarek guides Johnell through expressing and letting all of these emotions out so that she can heal and move forward. Tarek also provides her (and listeners) with additional tools to release bottled-up emotions, and how to heal herself during this grieving process.

Solidarity is gearing up the fight the African National Congress (ANC) government in court to stop it from “capturing” South Africa's schools - and stripping parents of a say in the education of their children. BizNews speaks to Solidarity's Johnell van Vollenhoven after a Parliamentary Portfolio Committee - in which the ANC and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) “used their numbers to obtain a majority” - accepted the BELA Amendment Bill this week. The Amendment Bill was therefore accepted for submission to the National Assembly (NA). This is the next step in the process of making it into law. Van Vollenhoven says such as law would mean “that we as parents and our governing bodies that we choose to govern our schools will be stripped of their powers”. The Bill was accepted despite widespread objection from the public with nearly 9 000 of the 11 000 inputs against the amendment of existing laws. “…they are not interested in looking at what the people are saying, they are only interested in pushing through their own ideology in this regard,” Van Vollenhoven charges. - Chris Steyn

FAU is getting back it's starting frontcourt for the 2023-24 season after both Alijah Martin and Johnell Davis decided to come back to Boca Rotan to help the Owls have another extremely successful season under Dusty May's leadership and guidance. The question becomes: with both parts of the backcourt back, will FAU be a top five preseason team? Kansas, Duke, Purdue, and Michigan State seem to belong there, but who else joins them? Is FAU a top-10 preseason lock? With more and more leagues supplying NBA Draft picks, host Isaac Schade takes a look at where draft lottery picks are coming from. We've never had fewer than 10 of the 14 come from a college team. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The 'Wu-Tang: An American Saga' Hulu-featured series has made major noise since its 2019 debut, and although the pandemic put a hold on the forthcoming second season, "Saga" star Johnell Young lets us know that we are all in for an amazing new offering. Young is definitely in good company as fellow music co-star Dave East has helped bring life to their famed characters GZA and Method Man, respectively. The two have not only brought the hip-hop icons to life on the small screen but both Young and East have also gone head-to-head and balled each other up. While Young does admit that East and Migos rapper Quavo have some skill, they can't see him on the court. Speaking on his experience of portraying Wu-Tang member GZA, Johnell explains to Power Mornings co-hosts Teddy Mora, Demi Lobo, and Noah Ayala that the legendary rapper GZA has made himself available to him by helping him capture his true essence for the television show. Johnell goes on to share what he learned about himself during the lockdown period of the coronavirus pandemic, how Quavo was the first first to give him respect for his "Saga" portrayal, where he sees his acting career heading, and chooses between Kanye West's 'Donda' or Drake's 'Certified Lover Boy' albums.
