Aujourd'hui, je reçois Eliott Grunewald, un typographe spécialisé dans les fontes de titrages ou ornementales. Eliott fait des études pluridisciplinaires aux Beaux-Arts de Lyon, puis en Type Design à l'ECAL. En master 2, il prépare déjà sa sortie d'école en bossant à mi-temps pour une fonderie. Il nous raconte comment les choses se sont faites petit à petit pour arriver à la création de sa fonderie OTT (Ornemental & Title Type), une fonderie sans aucune fonte de labeur. Les créations typo d'Eliott sont très singulières, très typées. Il a choisi cette pratique typographique parce qu'elle laisse plus de place à la liberté et à la spontanéité. Ce qui ne l'empêche pas de faire des recherches sur des anciennes typo pour se les réapproprier et les emmener ailleurs. Wellington Mayor Tory Whanau is sounding off on the Prime Minister after failing to reach a deadline made for all councils. Councils were encouraged to deliver a plan that the Government could help with, and Wellington didn't deliver one in time. Whanau then said Prime Minister Christopher Luxon is 'not a very nice person.' Senior Political Correspondent Barry Soper said the Mayor thought the comment would work in her favour. L'envie d'aller voir ailleurs le mène à Paris 8 en Pratique Esthétique et Histoire de l'art contemporaine : un enseignement très théorique, un peu aride mais très formateur.Ses stages seront un point de bascule, chez AAAAA Atelier en création graphique et auprès de Jérémy Landes en création typo. Ça y est, Walid est accro au design graphique, il a quelques projets en freelance et crée son studio Akakir. Grâce à un contrat avec Tactile Studio, Walid découvre le design inclusif et les problématiques d'accessibilité pour tous des musées et autres lieux du patrimoine.Une expérience singulière dans laquelle le design est au service du toucher et non des yeux.Cette gymnastique de transcription d'une langue vers une autre, d'un alphabet arabe à l'alphabet berbère en passant par l'alphabet latin, d'une idée en une image, c'est le coeur de la pratique de Walid. Kelley Earnhardt Miller sets out to learn more about the NASCAR Cup team business model with a person she has a lot of history with, RFK co-owner and former JR Motorsports racer Brad Keselowski. After years of success behind the wheel and a foray into team ownership through his NASCAR Truck outfit Brad Keselowski Racing, Brad decided to step away from his spot at Team Penske to take a part ownership role at Roush Fenway Racing. Brad explains that his passion for having control in all aspects of a race team's operations inspired him to take on the role at RFK, and he loves being able to contribute to other peoples' success. After dropping his children off at school, Brad rolls into RFK's shop daily and does a shop floor walk before taking on the day's meetings. He also enjoys having lunch with different team members as he believes food brings people together and the conversations are informative.Brad and Kelley discuss the difficulties of being an owner and driver and when you have to wear one hat or the other. Brad explains that he feels he can depend on his managers to make day-to-day decisions, allowing him to focus on the big-picture direction of the team and take time to concentrate on being behind the wheel. Brad also reveals good qualities he's picked up from other team leaders in the past that inform the way he performs at RFK, and how it's important to know the costs of everything the team needs to operate. The conversation also covers threats to the Cup ownership landscape, the art of appreciating employees, and Brad's goals for RFK in the next five years.

Kelley Earnhardt Miller is back for another session of the Business of Motorsports with longtime sports marketing executive Steve Uline. With the recent announcement that JR Motorsports had secured the rights to the DEI-Styled number 8 and plan to run the iconic Budweiser red paint scheme at the South Carolina 400 in a new partnership with Anheuser-Busch, Kelley wanted to chat with the mastermind and driving force behind the memorable sponsorship campaign. Steve fills listeners in on his journey to becoming a sports marketing director, which involved stints in the service industry before coming on at Anheuser-Busch as a director for Bud Sports TV. He admits that he applied for the position in sports marketing several times before finally getting the job, a process that took eight years. He and Kelley relate on the value of exposure and experience in the workforce and how that prepares you for any situation encountered in professional settings.Steve explains how the Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Anheuser-Busch partnership came to be, which took the place of a longtime deal with Hendrick Motorsports. Jordan Soderholm is co-founder and chief growth officer of Ranger Station, an American heritage fragrance brand founded in 2015 with husband Steve Soderholm, and founder of Nashville Candle + Supply, a private label and custom candle manufacturing company established in 2021.  A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, Jordan came to Nashville in 2009 to study marketing and fashion merchandising at Belmont University. During her sophomore year of studies, Jordan began a full-time position at ABLE, which was then a start-up fashion brand and social enterprise supporting women in Africa through the creation of leather handbags and accessories. She stayed with the company through graduation and for a decade, minus a two-year hiatus as an independent wardrobe stylist, working her way from intern to fashion director and helping to establish the global brand it is today. Along the way, Jordan was watching Steve dabble in candle making while home between gigs as a touring professional drummer. Her keen business sense and entrepreneurial spirit helped recognize the business potential in the hobby and she worked after hours to help Steve get the brand off the ground in 2015. In 2021, she left ABLE to work with Ranger Station full time and to take the brand to the next level. It was then that she also founded Nashville Candle + Supply, a boutique private label and custom candle manufacturing company with clients worldwide.  Today, Ranger Station is growing rapidly but thoughtfully. Ranger Station products are available for purchase from retail partners across the United States, Canada and the UK, as well as their flagship store in Nashville's 12South neighborhood opened in July 2023. Ranger Station also unveiled its first artist collaboration in the summer of 2023 with Noah Kahan, the folk singer/songwriter from New England, to bring to life his third LP, “Stick Season” – a candle that sold out in a record 24 hours with over 1,000 people on the waitlist. Collaborations with ERNEST, The Band Camino, Lauren Akins and Thomas Rhett and NEEDTOBREATHE followed, with others in the works. The brand has been featured in Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Architectural Digest, Cowboys & Indians, Byrdie, WWD, Who What Wear, The Strategist, PEOPLE, Southern Living, Billboard and countless other publications.   Aside from Ranger Station, Jordan chases around her two young children with Steve, and enjoys gardening, reading and styling through her Substack “You didn't ask.” and other endeavors.
