We're back with more FPL fun and frolics as we discuss the last couple of GW's and look towards GW17! We rate some naughty players for the foreseeable and Judge Rinder, I mean Ash, gets to grips with 3 more cases in the VAR Courtroom. There's more nonsense and skullduggery in Room 101 and Ash Meets World & Nick N Da Hood while we turn into chatty patties discussing Sports Personality of the Year and just what Gregg Wallace has been up to recently! All this with the help of the gorgeous gunner himself, AP is in the house!
TV presenter Rob Rinder joins Grace in her east London home to share his comfort food. Rob has been on our TV screens for a decade as Judge Rinder on the hit ITV show and, more recently, making documentaries. His 2020 BBC documentary My Family, The Holocaust and Me, about his Jewish heritage, garnered him an MBE for services to Holocaust education and awareness. Listen in as Rob swigs scotch and regales Grace with tales of his baker grandfather, his friendship with Benedict Cumberbatch, and how he turns to takeaway food at times of stress
Anyone else notice that the vocals and the video slightly fall out of sync? How very annoying. I swear Spotify are just trying to get rid of the nuisance that is podcasters by making their products essentially unusable. Anyway, something about haircuts and school. Bascially.
Growing up in a space you don't fit in; feeling like a fish out of water around your own family, Rob Rinder's polished accent and loquacious tone might not point to his working class roots. Often mistaken for brothers, Rob's background is starkly different from Jamie's…Opening up, Rob discusses his attitude to privilege and the undeniable love he felt from parents who perhaps didn't fully understand him.Concerned his sexuality might disappoint his single mother and Tottenham Hotspur obsessed father, Rob trained as a barrister, working across a vast array of cases which led to burnout and ultimately leaving the law, and turning to television, appearing on our screens as Judge Rinder, and more recently with new best friend, Rylan, exploring the art world in Italy. This conversation is a reminder that we all carry wonderful complexities that make us unique, and despite appearances and differences, to experience love is the greatest privilege of all.If you enjoyed this episode, please click follow - we have so many great guests like this one, you won't want to miss out!You can also follow us on:Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/greatcompanypodcast/TikTok | https://www.tiktok.com/@greatcompanypodcast—THE CREDITS:Exec Producer: Jemima RathboneAssistant Producer: Gurlina HeerVideo: Jake Ji & Ryley KirbySocial Media: Laura CoughlanThis is a JamPot Original podcast Hosted on Acast. The unlikely but hilarious duo that is Rob Rinder and Rylan Clarke join Liv on this week's episode of So Wrong It's Right. From early memories of how their friendship formed (like when Rylan trespassed on the Judge Rinder set) the pair discuss why they have such a strong chemistry together. Now hosting their own show, Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, they share BTS moments and what travelling together was really like. Also hear their take on pride, in the 10th year since gay marriage was legalised, if homophobia still exists in some of the countries they travelled to, and why the internet assumed they were engaged.Rylan also spills his secret names he goes by when travelling, a hilarious fan moment whilst abroad and their holiday romances. Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour airs on BBC2 on Sunday 12 May and will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
The chat hitting the fan this episode (11) - Overly pedantic MOT testers, cyber flashing, Lenny Henry, Comic Relief and the other charity shows, some alternative and suspiciously AI sounding lyrics for the podcast theme tune, some more celebrity podcast name ideas, Greg talks about getting bored of his own voiceovers and finally making a start on a screenplay, movie spin offs, the movies 'Robot Dreams', 'Kill The Irishman' and 'The River', this year's Glastonbury headliners, Johnny makes a racial faux pas, an interview with Lenny Henry, new songs from George Formby, getting showered and changed with other men at the swimming pool, a new song about visiying Scotland, Rylan Clark and Judge Rinder, how to talk about mental health (literally), the podcast 'Nothing rhymes with purple', nicknames for Jim Broadbent and a whole lot more!
The recent Channel Four documentary, The Princes in the Tower: The New Evidence saw historian Philippa Langley and TV personality Judge Rinder examine documents which they believe prove Edward V and Richard Duke of York were not murdered by their uncle Richard III, but were in fact spirited away to mainland Europe. From there they plotted both their return and the overthrow of Henry VII, victor over Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth Field. Joining today me in the first of a new series of bonus episodes is Jackson van Uden, the host of the History with Jackson podcast. Jackson chats about this evidence, as well as past episodes on his pod, and then we both talk about what to expect in 2024. Kevin has been investing in property for 18 years, has built up a multi-million pound business and uses creative property investment strategies. In this episode, Kevin reacts to a recording of Judge Rinder on Good Morning Britain about landlords. Kevin gives his take and insight on this video and gives his thoughts on how we can actually tackle the Housing Crisis in the UK. KEY TAKEAWAYS Yes, there are rogue landlords out there. But Kevin, his team and the landlords Progressive Property train are not part of them. In fact, they invest in run-down, sub-standard properties and make them better for future tenants of theirs as well as bringing properties back into use. Section 21 can get abused by some landlords. But Kevin has never done this, he wants his tenants to treat the property as their home. We have to think about the other side, section 21 is there for bad tenants, for the ones who don't look after the property, who don't pay on time. There are also many landlords out there who aren't investors, that just have one property-when that tenant doesn't pay or creates expensive repairs it can leave them in financial ruin. There is a lot of unnecessary red tape and it actually becomes an obstacle for tenants and landlords when there are issues to be solved. Unfortunately there are many tenants that don't look after a rental property in the same way they would if they owned it. This is especially demonstrated when it comes to preventing damp. Not opening windows, not wiping down the shower and drying clothes incorrectly can cause damp issues, simple things that could be avoided. The types of property Kevin buys/invests in aren't properties that would appeal to first time buyers. He isn't creating competition for them as they wouldn't purchase what he does, without landlords like him they simply wouldn't be bought. Everything has to be in balance. There needs to be robust legislation that supports both landlords and tenants. To solve the housing crisis the country needs to become creative with solutions, the government, councils and landlords need to work together:-We need better accommodation to solve the housing crisis. There are plenty of buildings out there, it's about bringing them back into use and to a good enough standard. The council could work with landlords to bring these back into use.-We need a more streamlined way of the government/councils paying landlords when tenants cannot. Universal credit has made this much harder. Capping rents would only harm tenants in the long run. Proper landlords reinvest their money back into the property creating a higher standard of living accommodation. BEST MOMENTS “Don't tar every landlord with the same brush, don't make every landlord a rogue landlord, because not every landlord is” “Maybe he's got a hidden agenda” “They create damp in the properties” “Everything has got to have balance” “The private investors are the ones that can solve this problem” VALUABLE RESOURCES https://www.progressiveproperty.co.uk https://kevinmcdonnell.co.uk ABOUT THE HOST Kevin McDonnell is a Speaker, Author, Mentor & Professional Property Investor. If you watched even a few minutes of the Winter Olympics in Beijing, you'll know who Bruce Mouat is. And on the off-chance you've been living under a rock and don't know the name, then you'll certainly know the hat! The Scot skipped Team GB's men to silver in China last month and then – just a few hours after earning Britain their first medal of the Games – was chosen to be the flag-bearer at the closing ceremony. Throw in a clutch of World and European medals, and you can see why we were so keen to get him on the podcast – and after a whirlwind return from the Olympics that's included appearances at Murrayfield and a chance encounter with Judge Rinder, we've managed to make it happen. This whole conversation is one you've been clamouring for, and it absolutely delivers – as we discuss everything from the Games to Bruce's coming out story to being inspired by Tom Daley to be his authentic self in sport. And the hat. We talk about the hat a lot. It's a cracker, this one – and we're really grateful to Bruce for taking the time to join us. I was hoping Jonny Gould's Jewish State would feature more live events. But for the pesky pandemic, this would've been a much more frequent occurrence already. So it's with a great pleasure that this episode records a wonderful night in aid of Jewish Blind and Disabled as I took to the JW3 stage with Robert Rinder. In this frank conversation, Rob reveals how his hit daytime show, Judge Rinder was pitched as a remake of 70s courtroom drama, Crown Court. He also discusses the life changing attitudes which came from his deeply moving episode of “Who Do You Think You Are”, which chronicled his grandfather's miraculous escape from a Nazi death camp. It's not too late to make a donation to Jewish Blind & Disabled. On the night we raised a phenomenal £95,000 in the room. An amendment to the CJA 2003 came into effect yesterday, almost unnoticed. Would you be happy to wear an ankle bracelet that monitored your sweat to check you weren't drinking any alcohol? Have early trials been successful, does it trample your human rights or is it in fact a good idea? Also, should weed be legalised? An exciting new format for Judge Rinder and Kehoe tells of his virtual family court appearance.
Asterios holds the UK's Judge Rinder in contempt. Sirancha promises to not talk about "No-Neck Ed." And is "nugget" a good name for a bird? (848) 863 5343 -|- theloudestpodcast@gmail.com -|- patreon.com/asterios
This month on the podcast you will meet criminal barrister and television personality Robert Rinder, also known as Judge Rinder. He was called to the bar in 2001, working on numerous cases before specialising in international fraud, money laundering and other forms of financial crime. He has appeared on televison on many occasions, hosting both Judge Rinder and The Rob Rinder Verdict. Presented by barrister Sally Penni, founder and chair of Women in the Law UK.
With us in The Red Room this week is criminal barrister, author, strictly star, documentary maker and Barry's sprint superstar - Rob Rinder also known as Judge Rinder. This light and funny conversation meanders from Rob's incredibly interesting life to his infamous prowess on the treadmill and the importance of routine and exercise in maintaining both physical and mental health. Please note, this episode was recorded earlier in the year before COVID 19 related restrictions.
Series 2 is here!!! Thanks to everyone for all your support and lovely messages for the first series. I have lots of new episodes coming in the next few weeks with guests such as Panti Bliss and Rory Cowan. But what better way to kick off the new run than with everyone's favourite no-nonsense, tough-talking TV judge Robert Rinder. Robert achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Politics and Modern History from the University of Manchester and was called to the bar at the tender age of 21. His TV career which followed has been a happy accident. Robert was writing crime drama scripts as a side hustle, when a fortuitous meeting with an ITV executive, led to him being cast as the judge on the UK version of the hit American series Judge Judy. Judge Rinder has of course gone on to become a huge hit and often averages 1 million viewers per episode, which for a daytime show is pretty brilliant. Robert has since appeared on Strictly, Who Do You Think You Are and had his own Friday night chat show on Channel 4. I met up with Robert a while back and we chatted about; his teenage crushes (all Scandinavian by the way!!!), what it’s like to be gay and Jewish, dealing with homophobia within the legal profession, why he has changed his mind about same-sex dancing partners on Strictly, his advice for those who are currently in the midst of the coming out process and lots of other things also!!! The battle to restore Baldwin St to its place as the world's steepest street is going global.Dunedin surveyor Toby Stoff jetted off yesterday to the United Kingdom, where he will film an episode of the reality television courtroom show Judge Rinder. And in a new twist, Guinness World Records will come to the party.Baldwin St was dethroned in July by Ffordd Pen Llech, in the Welsh resort of Harlech.Mr Stoff has concerns about the methodology used to determine the title, as the record-setting bid was measured on the inside verge of a curve, greatly exaggerating its steepness and disadvantaging Baldwin St, which is straight.Just before he flew out, he learned a representative of Guinness World Records would also be at the filming of Judge Rinder. It marked a major turnaround, as the organisation had stayed largely mum on the issue."So hopefully we don't just totally munt that up; hopefully it'll be good," Mr Stoff said. When asked what he was hoping to achieve with the show, he had a simple answer: "justice for Baldwin St"."We're just gonna have to play it by ear. It would be nice if Guinness or Judge Rinder said `yeah, actually, good point boys, I see what you're banging on about.Have your world record back'."If Guinness were to say `yeah', I'd be as happy as a bee with a bum full of honey."When he first got involved in the issue, he never thought it would become this big."It was going to be a letter to the editor, basically, and that was going to be it, but it sort of escalated."But nah, it's a bit of a laugh, it should be good."He will spend a couple of days in Manchester, England, to film the show before heading to Wales to conduct his own survey of Fford Pen Llech. But those on tenterhooks about the verdict may have a long wait. The result will not be known until the episode airs, which could be at least six months down the track.- words by Daisy Hudson, Otago Daily Times

This week has been all about the giveaways on The Chris Moyles Show. Firstly, there was £1,000 to give away- in order to do that though, James thought he'd hide in a bush in Birmingham and have a listener find him… naturally. Camouflage aside, the team had a spare pair of Liam Gallagher tickets up for grabs- all they asked is that the competition winner answer the phone with some Oasis lyrics and be free to go to the gig. Simple? You'd have thought so. There's more… - Chris' dinner date with Judge Rinder - The bets are on for the England game and Dom's got some predictions - There's been some BREAKING NEWS about Chris Moyles - Chris has got a few mash up ideas for Liam Gallagher's Finsbury Park gig Enjoy, The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X Weekdays 6:30-10am RadioX.co.uk

A Christmas Carol is London's Old Vic Theatre's Christmas offering this year. It's a new version by Jack Thorne (who wrote Harry Potter and The Cursed Child) directed by Matthew Warchus and starring Rhys Ifans as Ebenezer Scrooge The Disaster Artist is a tribute to one of the worst films ever - Tommy Wisseau's The Room. If the original was such a stinker, can a film about it be funny about the ineptitude or just cruel? Elisa Lodato's novel An Unremarkable Body tells the story of a middle-aged daughter coming to terms with the death of her mother. There's an exhibition of work by Rose Wylie at London's Serpentine Galleries Crown Court was a daytime TV series which ran for 12 years from 1972. Expect photographic evidence spread throughout the podcast. GLAMOUR's Strictly mega fan, Associate Editor James Williams, joins them to talk about the first week on the dance floor, as well as what got the office talking this week. So in this week's virtual features meeting, we're asking, hey: is it ok to wonder about the politics of going Dutch on dates; to take a compliment; and to tell someone off in public? Plus, Laura reveals what's being discussed in the Strictly contestants' WhatsApp group, who's refused to have a fake tan, what Judge Rinder is really like - and how on earth you go to the loo in those costumes.
