Ziggler's tag team partner Robert Roode got involved late in the match. Roode sidetracked former champ Bron Breakker - opening the door for Ziggler to hit Tommaso Ciampa with a superkick and pin Ciampa to win the title. It is the first singles champion for Ziggler since 2018. Imperium's Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner are still the NXT Tag Team Champions…but they now have two clear challengers waiting in the wings. Imperium was set to defend the titles against the Creed Brothers last night. But the Creeds were scratched after they were found laid out in the infamous NXT Parking Lot. MSK stepped in for the Creeds. But during the title match, the Creeds returned, a big brawl ensued and the match was thrown out. The final of the women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. It'll be Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray vs. Dakota Kai & Wendy Choo. Kai & Choo got another upset win last night. They beat Cora Jade & Raquel Gonzalez. Toxic Attraction's Gigi Dolin & Jayce Jane - the NXT Women's Tag Champs - attacked Gonzalez' knee during the match and Kai & Choo were able to take advantage and pin her for the win. The show opened with Zoey Stark taking on Toni Storm. Stark KICKED OUT of Storm Zero...so Toni unveiled a new finisher - that I'm not sure I can adequately describe...but I'll try. It was sort of a 3.0 backbreaker into a DDT. Anyway...it worked. Storm got the pin. It appears Alexander Wolfe is OUT of Imperium. Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner put the boots to Wolfe after he lost to Killian Dane. Legado Del Fantasma beat Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher. Ciampa took the pin after he was attacked by the Grizzled Young Veterans. Legado Del Fantasma will challenge MSK for the NXT Tag Titles in TWO weeks. Jake Atlas used a rollup to score an upset win on Cameron Grimes. Grimes was distracted when Ted DiBiase entered the arena. Bobby Fish challenged Pete Dunne to a match next week. Billy Corgan dropped the hammer on Strictly Business on last night's NWA Powerrr. Corgan STRIPPED Chris Adonis and Thom Lattimer of their shot at the NWA Tag Team Championship. This is the result of them walking out on their scheduled title match last week. Also, Corgan FINED the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champ Nick Aldis for orchestrating the walkout. And Cezar Bononi beat Marko Stunt… (STINGER: WWE) There is a NEW NXT North American Champion. Bronson Reed. He pinned Johnny Gargano with the Tsunami inside a Steel Cage on last night's NXT. The show opened with Zoey Stark taking on Toni Storm. Stark KICKED OUT of Storm Zero...so Toni unveiled a new finisher - that I'm not sure I can adequately describe...but I'll try. It was sort of a 3.0 backbreaker into a DDT. Anyway...it worked. Storm got the pin. It appears Alexander Wolfe is OUT of Imperium. Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner put the boots to Wolfe after he lost to Killian Dane. Legado Del Fantasma beat Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher. Ciampa took the pin after he was attacked by the Grizzled Young Veterans. Legado Del Fantasma will challenge MSK for the NXT Tag Titles in TWO weeks. Jake Atlas used a rollup to score an upset win on Cameron Grimes. Grimes was distracted when Ted DiBiase entered the arena. Bobby Fish challenged Pete Dunne to a match next week. Billy Corgan dropped the hammer on Strictly Business on last night's NWA Powerrr. Corgan STRIPPED Chris Adonis and Thom Lattimer of their shot at the NWA Tag Team Championship. This is the result of them walking out on their scheduled title match last week. Also, Corgan FINED the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champ Nick Aldis for orchestrating the walkout. So, there was a match to determine new Tag Title #1 Contenders last night. Jax Dane and Crimson beat Parrow and Odinson. Also on last night's show...Da Pope successfully defended the NWA TV Title against Matt Cross. Dragon Gate has pulled both Ben-K and Naruki Doi from its King Of Gate tournament, forfeiting their remaining matches. This came after confirmation that Ben-K tested positive for COVID-19. It announced dates and locations for three upcoming Dynamites - the first to be held away from Jacksonville's Daily's Place in NINE months. Dynamite will be at Miami's James L. Knight Center on July 7th...followed by two Wednesdays in Texas - July 14th at the H-E-B Center near Austin...and July 21st at the Curtis Culwell Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Tickets for all three shows go on sale Friday morning. AEW says it will comply with all local guidelines concerning COVID-19 safety - that includes seating capacities. AEW also announced a pair of rescheduled live events. First, in St. Louis on FRIDAY, November 5th. That's being called an “AEW TNT television taping”. Also, a live Dynamite in New Orleans on January 12, 2022! We'll get another look at former Lucha Underground Champion Marty Casaus on tonight's AEW Dark. He'll go one-on-one with Jungle Boy. Also tonight, Brian Cage vs. Bear Bronson. Plus, Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston will be in tag team action. On last night's Dark: Elevation...Moxley delivered a Paradigm Shift from the second rope to pin Danny Limelight. Dark Order's Alex Reynolds pinned Private Party's Isiah Kassidy with a rollup. After the match, Matt Hardy and Marq Quen helped Kassidy lay out Reynolds, John Silver and Colt Cabana. Also, Pro wrestling lawyer Mark Sterling pitched himself as the one to manage Jade Cargill, and she was at least willing to listen as she followed Sterling backstage. (STINGER: WWE) TWO title matches on tonight's NXT. Raquel Gonzalez defends her NXT Women's Title against Mercedes Martinez. Santos Escobar gets his rematch for Kushida's Cruiserweight Title. It's Two Out Of Three Falls. Plus, NXT Champ Karrion Kross in a non-title match against Austin Theory...and Killian Dane vs. Imperium's Alexander Wolfe. A new match added to WrestleMania Backlash - The Miz vs. Damien Priest in a Lumberjack Match. Damian Priest pinned John Morrison on last night's Raw...after The Miz's attempt to help Morrison backfired. The gave Priest the right to choose the stipulation for the Backlash match. Raw Women's Champ Rhea Ripley pinned Asuka last night in a non-title match...as Charlotte Flair looked on. Those women will be in a 3-Way for the title at Backlash. Charlotte and Asuka were also on opposite sides of a 6-Woman tag to open the show. It was brought to a screeching halt when Alexa Bliss suddenly appeared on-stage - riding her swing set...alongside Lilly. Bliss said she's keeping her eye on “someone”. The match resumed...but then, Shayna Baszler appeared to lose control of her legs. Asuka swooped in with a shining wizard to get the pin. Charlotte knocked out Asuka after the match. Alexa and Lilly chuckled as they looked on. End scene. An ugly ending to a match between Sheamus and Humberto Carrillo. Carrillo was delivering a sunset flip powerbomb from the apron to the arena floor, but Sheamus landed on Carrillo's left leg. The ref waved off the match and declared Sheamus the winner. A win for Carrillo would've earned him a shot at Sheamus' U.S. Title. The main event was a non-title match between WWE Champ Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre. But Braun Strowman interfered and power slammed BOTH men as the show ended. Jinder Mahal returned to Raw with a win over Jeff Hardy. Shelton Benjamin pinned Cedric Alexander with a T-Bone Suplex. Also, the team of R-K-Bro and Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston beat AJ Styles, Omos, Elias and Jaxson Ryker. Randy Orton pinned Elias with an RKO. After the match, Orton RKO'd Woods and Kingston. Riddle was befuddled. (STINGER: ROH) On this past weekend's Ring Of Honor TV, Angelina Love beat Quinn McKay, thanks to a timely distraction by Mandy Leon. EC3 & Flip Gordon beat The Briscoes. EC3 pinned Mark Briscoe after Gordon hit Mark with a chain. But EC3 never saw Flip's cheating. And Brian Johnson's open challenge was answered by...PCO. Roderick Strong handed in his paperwork to Regal...and is apparently resigning from NXT. There was a big mistake during last week's WWE Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremonies. The legacy induction video for Ethel Johnson...showed footage of another wrestler. WWE also referred to Johnson as the first African American female wrestler, when her distinction was being the first Black female wrestling champion. Johnson's family told filmmaker Chris Bourneau they've been in contact with WWE and were promised corrections will be made. Johnson's family also said they did not know she was being inducted until the ceremony aired. Some new details on the toll that storms took on WWE's production team during WrestleMania weekend. WWE Senior Vice President Duncan Leslie told Sports Video Group “some gear was compromised”, but their crews were ready with spares. Roderick Strong handed in his paperwork to Regal...and is apparently resigning from NXT. There was a big mistake during last week's WWE Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremonies. The legacy induction video for Ethel Johnson...showed footage of another wrestler. WWE also referred to Johnson as the first African American female wrestler, when her distinction was being the first Black female wrestling champion. Johnson's family told filmmaker Chris Bourneau they've been in contact with WWE and were promised corrections will be made. Johnson's family also said they did not know she was being inducted until the ceremony aired. Some new details on the toll that storms took on WWE's production team during WrestleMania weekend. It's pretty clear that it's the former Taya Valkyrie. Drew McIntyre will get another shot at WWE Champion Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania Backlash. McIntyre won a 3-Way in last night's main event. Pinning Randy Orton after a Claymore that his just as Orton was covering Braun Strowman after an RKO. After the match, McIntyre was attacked by Mace and T-Bar...as MVP looked on. Some notable returns on the Raw After WrestleMania. Charlotte Flair was back...alluding to the reasons she missed WrestleMania...while not saying it outright. Later, Charlotte took down BOTH the Raw Women's Champ Rhea Ripley and Asuka, ruining their WrestleMania rematch. Ivar returned...and as a result, so did the Viking Raiders. They beat Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin. As for Lashley, he opened the show by mauling Riddle in a non-title match. The Miz got his feet on the ropes to pin Damien Priest and win a handicap match that also included John Morrison. Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke RETREATED from a match against Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler...and were counted out. Bray Wyatt returned to the Firefly Fun House. Alexa Bliss checked in from her swingset backstage and introduced a stuffed doll named Lily. The biggest debut on the Raw After Mania was at the announce desk. Adnan Virk is now on play-by-play...alongside Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. Virk jumped over from ESPN. He replaces Tom Phillips. WWE said Phillips will be the new host of 205 Live, and work on other projects.
