I begynnelsen av Knut og Lenas forhold og de var ute på date, droppet gjerne Lena dobesøk, fordi hun visste at Knut sannsynligvis havnet i prat med halve restauranten før hun kom tilbake. Expeditionen var ett storverk i sig – ett tydligt tecken på det danska kungadömets organisatoriska styrka.Redan året därpå, 1016, besegrade Knut kung Edmund Järnsida vid slaget vid Assandun. Den 30 november kröntes han till kung av England – starten på ett imperium som kom att sträcka sig över större delen av norra Europa.Efter brodern Haralds död blev Knut även kung av Danmark 1018. Genom ett fälttåg år 1028 lade han dessutom Norge under sig. Därmed regerade han över tre kungariken och hade samtidigt inflytande över tributpliktiga områden på Irland, norska bosättningar kring Irlands hav och delar av västkusten, Skåne och Blekinge i nuvarande Sverige.Men Nordsjöväldet var inte en enhetlig stat. Det handlade snarare om en personalunion – ett rike som vilade på Knuts personliga auktoritet. Knut såg sig inte bara som en vikingakung, utan som en kristen härskare i Europas mitt. År 1027 reste han till Rom på pilgrimsfärd för att möta påven och den tysk-romerske kejsaren. Genom sitt äktenskap med Emma av Normandie förstärkte han sin legitimitet ytterligare, både i England och på kontinenten.När Knut dog den 12 november 1035 föll imperiet snabbt sönder. Dnes ale sám říká, že nechce promarnit čas a místo stěžování si na změny hledá cesty, jak se adaptovat. „Měl jsem na vybranou mezi tím, jestli budu nadávat na to, že se to celý změnilo jinak, než by se mně mohlo líbit, anebo jestli se pokusím na tu situaci nějak adaptovat. Tak jsem si vybral to druhý,“ říká k tomu, proč si rozjel vlastní podcast, youtube kanál a vrací se i jeho nejslavnější pořad Ano, šéfe!, který podle něj nikdy nebyl jen o gastronomii, ale hlavně o lidech a jejich příbězích. Otevřeně mluví i o osobních tématech - o dětství v obyčejných poměrech, komplikovaném vztahu s otcem i o rozvodu, který označuje za jednu z nejtěžších životních zkušeností. „To nechcete prožít, nikomu to nepřeji,“ říká k tomu, jak těžké je zejména to, že takový krok zasahuje i děti. I proto je dnes prý tolerantnější než dřív, ale vnitřně pořád vidí stejné chyby. „Nemám pochopení, když je něco udělaný blbě. Ale mám pochopení pro lidský osud,“ vysvětluje. Pohlreich v rozhovoru vzpomíná i na to, proč odešel z jistoty korporátu a začal podnikat. „Šel jsem podnikat ze strachu, že mi jednou tu vyhřátou židli sebere nějakej mladej talent za polovic. Tolika lidem jsem za život vydělal prachy, tak jsem si říkal - zkusím udělat něco pro sebe,” přiznává. Mluví také o panických atakách a o tom, že si jako podnikatel bral výplatu až poslední. To, že se člověk bojí, podle jeho slov k rozhodnutí jít „na sebe“ logicky patří. Co dnes vůbec znamená značka Zdeněk Pohlreich?
