Hallo - allo - allo - o - o! Ja, es hallt, weil wir in unsern neuen Casas aufnehmen. Weil wir umgezogen sind und nervigerweise auch noch on stage mussten, haben wir kurz pausiert, aber das wird ja wohl noch erlaubt sein. Author Don Klees is on the podcast to talk about his new book David Bowie: 1983-2016 Every Album, Every Song. It's part of Sonicbond Publishing's On Track series.In a career full of twists and turns, none was as sharp as the one David Bowie experienced after his 1983 album Let's Dance. The record gave Bowie the hit that he wanted but completely altered his artistic standing in the process. Instead of an innovator who pushed rock music forward, the singer found himself a global superstar with a mass audience whose tastes he didn't understand and who reciprocated this feeling as the 1980s unfolded. After immersing himself in the band project Tin Machine, Bowie spent the 1990s embracing reinvention and experimentation with mixed but often fascinating results, leading to a full-fledged renaissance early in the 21st century. From there, his story only got stranger; 2013's The Next Day was a triumphant comeback after years of self-imposed silence. Meanwhile, 2016's Blackstar stood among his most challenging albums and became the final release of his lifetime. One constant is that the records David Bowie released during this time were ultimately the result of his artistic vision, wherever it took him. This book considers all those releases on their own merits, away from the shadow of his 1970s landmarks. Att växa upp i ett Katolskt Irland var tufft för en femårig Dermot Clemenger som älskade dans. Skällsorden tog aldrig slut från jämnårig pojkar i skolan. Mobbning blev en del av hans uppväxt, samtidigt som han och hans familj blev utsatta för psykisk misshandel av pappan, som senare visade sig även förgripit sig på Dermots systrar. Nu har Dermot, som vi alla känner igen som dansaren och jurymedlemmen från Lets Dance, skrivit en bok om sin uppväxt “Fly från monster” Vi pratar om tiden som barn, hur han påverkades av mobbningen, vad som fick honom att fortsätta dansa, om hans kärleksfulla mamma och om hur han minns sin pappa som var narcissistik och ond. Dermot berättar om saknaden efter sin bror som dog för många år sedan och då kan ingen av oss hålla tillbaka tårarna Dermot är så mycket mer är Lets Dance Dermot. En varm och kärleksfull person. Men när jag frågar om han kan se den sidan av sig själv svarar han “ -inte än. Men jag jobbar på det”. Ett så fint samtal med en del skratt och mycket känslor. Der Auswanderer Podcast ist gerade in einer Sommerpause, das heißt es werden momentan keine neuen Folgen veröffentlicht. Und ich habe mir gedacht, dass es vielleicht schön und sinnvoll sein könnte, in alte Folgen reinzuhören. Es gibt ja mittlerweile über 190 Episoden bei EINFACH AUSSTEIGEN und ich habe für die Sommerpause die Folgen rausgesucht, die mir bis heute im Gedächtnis geblieben sind, weil die Auswanderungsgeschichte, der Gast oder auch das Land ungewöhnlich waren. Heute geht es um meinen Gast Ann-Kathrin Bendixen, die in diesem Frühjahr für Schlagzeilen gesorgt hat, denn sie war Kandidatin in der TV-Sendung Let's Dance! Ein krasser Höhepunkt in ihrem jungen Leben, in dem sie schon eine schwere Krankheit überwunden hat und danach mit ihrem Motorrad und quasi ohne Geld durch viele Länder gereist ist. Ann-Kathrin aka Affe auf Bike war bei mir im Podcast am 3. Mai 2022 zu Gast und dieses Gespräch ist nicht nur mir, sondern auch viele Hörern im Gedächtnis geblieben.
