Fictional energy source in Star Wars
POPULARITY
On May 19th, 1999, "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace" was released to a rather rocky reception. One of the most controversial contributions to the saga was the introduction of Midichlorians, microscopic lifeforms that convey the will of the Force to all living things. As it is an often a misunderstood concept, join with me today as I discuss this topic with our resident expert Scotty Jayro! Join us for an incredible examination!
Send us a textIt's as much about the Mafia as Midichlorians this week, as we look back on limited series The Offer, now that both the boys have watched it all. Meanwhile, David Cronenberg's 1981 Sci Fi/Horror classic Scanners gets its time in the Second Chance sun. The special effects are literally mind blowing, but is it all in (pulsing) vein?To complete our recent gangster motif, Hutch offers up two corkers for next week's review, as a birthday present to Steff. You can contact us at:podcast@2ndchancecinemaclub.comWe can be found on:Instagram - @2ndchancecinemaclub

Simmons. But first, we play our final Catch That Quotable of the season and Doug leads a game of Christmas movie Rank 'Em. Marcus gushes over the announcement of the Superman trailer, and give his take on the newest poster. Finally, we review Red One with some semi-shocking results. This week we're taking a close up look at that age old question that's puzzled millions for decades - SO WHAT THE HECK ARE MIDICHLORIANS? Inspired by a 2013 StarWars.com article by JW Rinzler, we're talking about how George Lucas' thoughts on the Force and just who can use it and why have and have not changed, why Sabine's journey in Ahsoka honors that why people should just relax about the whole microscopic life forms thing. So take a blood sample, listen today and celebrate the love! Ahsoka mentions that Grogu's memory grows dark and faint after the he was hidden at the end of the clone wars, aka, order 66. He was raised at the Jedi temple on coruscant. Many masters trained him over the years. At the end of the clone wars, he was hidden. Someone took him from the temple, then his memory becomes dark. My next theory here after the Anakin one, is that perhaps Sidious took him. This would make sense since Sidoius was at the Jedi temple after Anakin raided it with the 501st. A lot of people miss this detail, but we can actually see Sidious in the Jedi Temple as Anakin kneels before him, calling him his master. Obi-Wan is watching the security recordings from the temple. If this was in palpatine's office, which is not in the temple, then it wouldn't make sense for Kenobi to be able to see this. Sidious sends Anakin away to Mustafar. This is right before Anakin goes to stop by at Padme's place, before blasting off to Mustafar to officially end the Clone Wars by having Nute Gunray deactivate all droids across the galaxy. So when Anakin is here with Padme. Sidious is at the temple, and it's this time gap that I'm thinking could allow him to search for any hiding Jedi who survived. Perhaps this is where he senses Grogu. Now how does he know about Grogu? Dooku! Dooku was a Jedi Master who left the temple after decades of being there since he was a small boy, and who is old enough to know Dooku? Possibly to even be trained by him? Grogu. Palpatine was always mulling over the idea of a new apprentice, and in the revenge of the Sith novel, the plan was for dooku and anakin to be alive and serve him. To which of course we know what happened there. I believe Dooku would have told Sidious all about Grogu and how he was immensely powerful, just like his father, Yoda, if that is his father I'm just saying that to make the story more dramatic. Sidious had a personal vendetta against Yoda, so to take his child would be sweeter than killing him. Imagine turning his son into a Sith Lord, or, harvesting Yoda's genes and force powers for his own twisted Frankenstein abominations. Operation resurrection, perhaps. Palpatine wouldn't go after just any force user. He needed a being with very high Midichlorians in their blood. Grogu would have been maybe 15-20 years old during Revenge of the Sith, and his force powers were far more powerful than what we see in the mandaloirna. He had to subdue his powers as to not be found by the empire. So what I'm thinking is, he was found and taken from the temple by Sidious, and maybe sent to KAmino to be an experiment and to learn from, and there during the next 35 years until we see him in the mandalorian, he perhaps escaped, and then came under the custody of the remnants of the Empire. Now, Sidious's clone in episode 9, looks to be about 30 years old. Rey was born in 15 aby, 5 years after the Mandalorian, just about, so this would mean if he was put on Jakku around the age of maybe 6, meaning 21 ABY, then palpatine's cloned son, Rey's dad, was born about 10 years after Revenge of the Sith. This means Palpatine was trying to clone himself for quite some time, and trying to experiment with different ways to put the force inside a new body. This could give life to this theory that Palpatine did indeed take Grogu from the temple. Personally, I like the palpatine theory. If he took him, he'd just run tests on him as much as he could, perhaps keeping Grogu alive so that his body would grow, allowing the empire to harvest more of his blood as it grew. Perhaps this is why they didn't just kill him off. They tried with other things as much as they could, but they ultimately knew that if they killed the child, they wouldn't find another entity with as high of a force power in their blood. This actually could all be plausible, or, Grogu went wandering alone through the galaxy once the empire was destroyed, only to be put into Gideon's control. Learn more about your ad choices. In this latest episode of Star Warsologies, we talk about all molecular and cellular biology in Star Wars! Let's look at the DNA of Star Wars! You might not expect Star Wars to connect to the world of molecular and cellular biology (the field of biology looking at things at the cellular level and smaller), but it does in a few key ways: the genetic manipulation and cellular development that goes into making clones like Boba Fett as well as midichlorians and their real-life inspiration, mitochondria. We examine the microscopic world of living cells in the galaxy far, far away with our guest expert Karim Si-Tayeb, PhD, in the field of genetic reprogramming and stem cells, and owner of Librairie Ludique Portails, a store specializing in sci-fi and fantasy books, comics, and games, in Nantes, France. The band was formed in 2012 when a few longtime friends and high school classmates got together in a basement to cover their favorite songs. As the band grew and evolved they traded covers for original music and began to develop a live improvisational chemistry that would come to define their sound. They released their debut self-titled EP in January 2015, a blues and garage-rock influenced set that compiles four highlights from the band's early material. After the EP's release, the band took a drastic sonic turn, opting for more lush, mellow, and psychedelic textures. This approach culminated in their first full-length album Live at the Fillmore, released in August of 2016. Do they help the audience understand the force or do they make it more confusing? They also discuss the need to see all forms of a property to understand what is happening in one medium. News on The Mandalorian, the novelization of The Rise of Skywalker, and a new episode of The Clone Wars! Here's what happens: No Dallas? No Problem! Our pal Robbo (@GC9X) helps fill the void. The guest was the only person who got something on Who Got What this week. What are the chances? Robbo weighs in on Project Luminous. There's a bit of news about The Mandalorian, some real and some not so much. Well, early copies of the soon-to-be-released The Rise of Skywalker novelization didn't cause any issues at all, and people have been nothing but great about it. Oh, Ian McDiarmid, we would listen to you read the dictionary just to get more of that Palpatine voice. We take a look at S07E02 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, A Distant Echo and it does not disappoint. How are you liking the episodes so far? Dig the show? Support our podcast on Patreon! Robbie Farlow with Roman Fitness Systems shares his thoughts on the mind-muscle connection. Episode 582: Mind-Muscle Connection: Harnessing Modern Midichlorians for Ultimate Gains by Robbie Farlow with Roman Fitness RFS originally began as a personal training company servicing the NYC Metro area back in 2003. Through that company, Roman coached everyone from professional athletes to actors to regular folks. In 2009, John Romaniello started the site to more conveniently merge his love of fitness and writing. While it was “just a blog” at first, it quickly became much, much more. Slowly but surely, writing articles, blog posts and books became the priority. Today, RFS continues to be one of the most respected sites for high quality fitness and lifestyle information around.
