June 7 marks the end of an era, one that lasted 34 years to be precise. The closing of Jim Henson's Muppet*Vision 3D at Disney's Hollywood Studios signifies not only a farewell to one of the oldest and most beloved attractions in the park, but also to one of the cleverest shows that has ever existed in a Disney theme park. As the last production that Jim Henson worked on, Muppet*Vision 3D is filled with laughs, heart, and ingenuity. To honor this magnificent attraction, author Aaron Wallace joins host Brett Nachman to share our memories, favorite show elements, including its brilliant writing, and they think represent the show's legacy, among other topics. This episode is a salute to all 3D shows, but mostly Muppet*Vision 3D. If you know, you know! Check out what Aaron Wallace has been up to by following him on Instagram (@aaronhwallace) and find out more about his books on AaronWallaceOnline.com. Feel free to reach out to Brett via Bluesky @drnachman and Instagram @drnachman, subscribe to the podcast, and send your feedback to notablydisney@gmail.com New episodes of Notably Disney debut on the first and third Tuesday of each month.

Send us a textIn this episode of Accio the Mouse, we're back from EPCOT's Festival of the Arts, where we ate our weight in artistic snacks, tried (and failed) to paint like professionals, and debated whether or not Figment would make a good roommate. On a more bittersweet note, Jellyrolls at Disney's BoardWalk is closing, meaning no more late-night dueling piano shenanigans (pour one out for the best sing-alongs ever). And if that wasn't enough, MuppetVision 3D is closing in June, so get your last doses of Statler and Waldorf heckling while you can.And finally, we talk about our upcoming RunDisney event—where we'll be running, sweating, and possibly questioning every decision that led us here. In honor of Muppet*Vision 3D closing at Disney World, we look at the history of The Muppets before Kermit joined Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear. Two decades earlier, Kermit was hanging out with Sam and Friends -- a local TV show in Washington, D.C., that launched Jim Henson's career. This episode comes from the podcast Sidedoor, produced by The Smithsonian with support from PRX. Their host Lizzie Peabody journeys back to 1955 to figure out how this eccentric cast of puppets built the foundation for everything Jim Henson would do afterwards, from Sesame Street to The Muppet Show and even Labyrinth. And the Sidedoor team ventures into the conservation labs to learn what it took to revive these crumbling hunks of foam and fabric when they landed at the Smithsonian. In the 232nd episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, the entire podcast crew comes together to say THANKS to the listening audience, as well as some thanks all around for Disney and for travel and more! Upon a Star Jenn, d$, Quasi-Producer Heather (aka The Moana Mom) and fan favorite #KylaKylaKyla are all on the show today, all getting ready for an upcoming Disney Trip! The big topic is the announcement of Muppet*Vision 3D closing, and the Muppets themselves moving across Hollywood Studios and taking over Aerosmith's Rock'n Roller Coaster, as everyone gives their own opinions on the idea, what can be done with the Muppets to preserve the 3D show, and why Disney isn't using current empty spaces. Then, all four give their own thanks for things like Epic U giving Disney some competition... Walt coming back to Disneyland... that D23 was a great presentation (finally)... Spirit Airlines reviving... and even a hot take, being thankful that DinoLand is closing... Plus, we all give thanks for YOU for the years of support and for listening to the show!
