This week, we continue to struggle with our new concept of segments, producing two roughly 40 min halves where we talk about some of the same concepts and including sports and How Long Gone podcast guests. In the first half, we get more specifically into a rousing debate over the spectrum of quality in restaurants and the value of going to many new restaurants vs the same one many times. In the second half, we test out our new "podcast review" segment, where Alex tells of two podcasts he binged in the "slow pod week" produced by the holiday week, Serial Season 2 featuring the Bowe Bergdahl case mentioned on the Nate pod, and Who Shat on the Floor at My Wedding, an irreverent COVID-lockdown-era true crime pod "investigating" the titular question.

This is the second last episode of the year! I can't believe we're already coming to the end of 2021. I wanted to break down the year that was 2021 with you. This is part 1 - the personal episode and part 2 - the business episode will follow. I encourage everyone to separate their business and their personal goals for 2022. Often we only make business goals and neglect having aspirations for our personal lives. I'm so grateful I made personal goals for myself in 2021, it has allowed me to keep working on myself and how I connect with my friends and family. In this episode, I'm going to chat about the three core personal goals I set for the year and how they manifested. These goals include: creating more love and connection around me, taking care of my body, and upgrading my daily habits so I'm focused, creative, and on purpose. I'll share with you the many highs, lows, the biggest learnings and takeaways, and a summary of the year that was. I always choose a theme for the year ahead. This year it was la dolce vita - the sweet life. I wanted to have a year where play, joy, and fun are paramount. This year has definitely felt like I've accomplished this focus. Whilst I wasn't able to travel, I was able to find the sweetness in the smaller, simpler things. I really wanted to share this episode with you to show the whole picture of a CEO of a million-dollar business. There are so many amazing times that go along with the really challenging times. Hannah Lowe Corman is an artist and yoga teacher in New York City. In 2016, Hannah jumped at the chance to follow her artistic passion, quitting her job in investment banking, and becoming a full-time painter. She's studied art and art history at the Maryland Institute College of Art, the Sorbonne, and the Art Students League of New York, among others, however her degrees are actually in Finance and French! Taking what she's learned as a lifelong artist and art student, Hannah paints abstract pieces inspired by nature, meditation and movement. Hannah melds her longtime yoga and meditation practice with her painting practice to draw tranquility from her work, both in the final outcomes and in the process of painting. She invites the viewers to connect with their own feelings and meditative states while observing her work. Hannah also paints custom commissions for clients’ homes and offices, as well as large scale backdrops for weddings, events and photo booths. Her backdrops have been featured in My Wedding magazine, Borrowed & Blue, and The Perfect Palette.
