Have you ever wondered how businesses can better manage supply chain risks in an era of increasing cyber threats and regulatory complexities? In this episode of The Tech Talks Daily Podcast, we sit down with Haydn Brooks, CEO and founder of Risk Ledger, to explore how his innovative platform is reshaping third-party risk management. Risk Ledger, founded in 2018, operates as a secure social network for supply chain risk management. Haydn shares how his transition from neuroscience to cybersecurity sparked the creation of this dynamic platform, which has already supported major initiatives like the NHS COVID-19 Test and Trace program. Designed to provide real-time insights and foster collaboration, Risk Ledger is redefining traditional approaches to supply chain security. In our conversation, Haydn discusses the platform's ability to share threat intelligence across a network of suppliers, helping both public and private sector organizations stay ahead of emerging challenges. Looking ahead, Haydn outlines Risk Ledger's ambitious plans for 2025, including enhanced threat response capabilities and international expansion into Northern Europe and the US. With the rise of new regulatory frameworks like DORA and NIS2, Haydn emphasizes how the platform supports compliance while addressing the unique needs of diverse industries. Today, women make up around half of all doctors and two-thirds of all medical students. So, has equality in health care finally been achieved?  When International Women's Day began in 1909, women were still barred from entering medical school. Today women make up a growing share of the medical workforce and students in the UK. Despite this considerable progress, research indicates that today women in health care are under-represented in leadership roles, are paid less than male colleagues on average, and still all too often encounter sexism and discrimination.  To mark International Women's Day 2023, we invited three female leaders at different stages of their careers in health care to reflect on the expectations, experiences and challenges that have shaped their professional journeys and what needs to happen to continue building a truly inclusive workforce. To discuss, our chief executive Dr Jennifer Dixon is joined by: Dame Jane Dacre, emeritus professor at UCL Medical School, chair of the Health and Social Care Select Committee's expert panel and former president of the Royal College of Physicians Dr Nikita Kanani, director of clinical integration at NHS England and deputy senior responsible officer for the NHS COVID-19 vaccination programme and a GP in south east London Dr Gabrielle Mathews, NHS Assembly Member (NHS England) and a doctor at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. Abi Roberts is back in the hot seat, ready to share with us what has caught her eye this week online and in the media. Shy and retiring she is not! so expect fireworks as she takes aim at The Mayor of London using the transport system to push LGBT, Midwife students being taught to care for fellas who might just pop a baby out of their penis! We look at the reports that there is a 'significant rise' in cardiac issues for the under 65s in Scotland and what could possibly be causing them, will the BBC, or to give them their full title, The British Biased Corporation retract their lies over vaccine threat in pregnancy? Abi muses over the fact that in the US they plan to give experimental mRNA injections to 6 month old babies and Moderna seeking approval for the jab aimed at under fives, and all the news and media outlets are concerned with is our pitiful and pathetic political leaders and whether they drank a beer or eat some cake. Its not going away, newly re-elected Macron introduces the Digital ID in France and Sajid 'Who Cares' Javid expands the NHS Covid pass for kids here in the UK while in Germany the global vaccine passport is being developed. Is the Social Credit Score heading our way? Abi Roberts is a British stand-up comedian, writer and commentator. Abi became a professional stand-up in 2012, and since then has played some of the biggest clubs across the UK, and had several sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She became a comedian because she wanted to write her own material and have the freedom to express her worldview – and make thousands of people laugh at the absurdity and wonder of life. Abi does not worship at ‘The Church of Woke'! If you ask her how she identifies or what her gender pronouns are, she would give you this answer: “I'm a straight female who's flattened a lot of grass. I spent much of my university days behind a club called Cinderella's with a cone of chips in one hand and a pint of Snakebite and Black in the other. For balance. I once dabbled in Lesbiana but couldn't fully commit because, like a London cab driver, I wouldn't go south of the river.” Abi's stand up show Anglichanka, which was about living and studying in Russia, gained her several 5 star rave reviews and the show toured the UK. She was the first comedian to do shows in Moscow in both English and Russian, as Abi explains “My father was a spy… sorry, diplomat, so I went to the Soviet Union as a kid and then in the early 1990s I studied opera at the Moscow Conservatoire. Over the years, I've met many people who have been persecuted by the Soviet regime, including Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, so I have an inbuilt hatred of all authoritarian bastards who encourage denouncement and punish freedom of speech.” She has appeared as a guest comedian on BBC Radio 4's Midweek, Saturday Live and BBC Radio Scotland's The Janice Forsyth Show, and ITV's Good Morning Britain, debating mandatory vaccine passports opposite Edwina Currie. As a writer, Abi has written for several publications including Spiked and The Times. Abi is a regular commentator on GB News, You can see her on Tonight Live with Dan Wootton and Mark Dolan and she also appears regularly on Andrew Doyle's Free Speech Nation as well as Nana Akua's weekend Debate show on GB News every Friday from 4-6pm. Twice monthly she joins Ann Widdecombe and Emma Webb in Widdecombe Webb & Woberts streamed LIVE on the New Culture Forum YouTube channel and also contributes regularly on Talk Radio & Times Radio. With Covid-19 restrictions now being eased around the UK for this week's check in with Pharmacist Elizabeth Roddick from New Life Pharmacy in Glasgow, Connect Radio's Toby Davey asked Elizabeth how we should all keep safe going forward with the easing of Covid 19 restrictions as the Coronavirus virus still out there. Elizabeth began by giving her advice as a Pharmacist on how we should all keep safe in the future as we go forward with Coronavirus still out there. Elizabeth also talked about the UK Government ‘Living with Covid Plan' and the general rules around Covid-19 as Elizabeth sees it going forward.   Whether we will get to a stage where Covid-19 ends up similar to how we see and treat flu. What affect will the easing of restrictions have on how Elizabeth and her colleagues work in the Pharmacy going forward? Elizabeth ended by asking Toby how he feels as a visually impaired person being out and about with all the easing of restrictions and Toby recalls a recent trip to London on the train which was quite packed due to being on a Sunday and a big London football match on too which reminded him of pre Covid-19 lockdowns on the tube. Two days later he had a notification through the NHS Covid-19 app to say that he had been in close proximity with someone who had Covid but thankfully after doing a lateral flow test it showed a negative result, which just goes to show that Covid-19 is still out there. To get in touch with Elizabeth Roddick email: Elizabeth.r@newlifepharmacy.co.uk or for more information visit https://newlifepharmacy.co.uk Image:  Picture showing Elizabeth standing in her pharmacy, dressed in her white pharmacist coat and a colourful bandana around her neck, she's smiling. warmly at the camera with her hands slightly raised.

Infections caused by the new variant Omicron are rising rapidly, doubling every two to three days. It is expected to become the dominant variant soon and then the UK is being warned to be braced for a surge in cases. Boris Johnson has won backing for Covid passes in England, despite the biggest revolt by Tory MPs since he became PM. A total of 99 Conservatives voted against the government on Tuesday, but the measure was passed by a majority of 243 thanks to Labour support. NHS Covid passes, showing a recent negative test or full vaccination, must be shown to get into many large venues, including nightclubs, from Wednesday. MPs also voted to back compulsory face masks in most indoor settings. On the 'plus side', we somehow manage to make a slow week of theme park news into an hour-plus podcast episode thanks to random wittering about coronavirus rules, Space Jam, sundaes, Emma Stone, and ticket prices. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/parkrush/message
