In this week's podcast episode, my podcast guest is Mark Seeto. Like most kids growing up in the Australian bush, Mark started playing sports as soon as he could. Fast forward to 2008, after years of working in Sales, Customer Service and Finance in Australia, the UK and Canada, as well as his dedicated Pilates practice, he knew he needed to start a career in something he felt truly passionate about and connected to. So he packed up and flew home to launch his career as a Personal Trainer at Virgin Active Frenchs Forest in early 2009. Understanding that the mechanics of movement is important, but learning that mindset, motivation and the power of relationships is what truly creates sustainable change, led Mark to discovering his own personal Yoga practice in 2010. In 2011 Mark became a Fitness Manager, and his passion for leadership and mentorship was born. He is now the Global Head of Yoga and Pilates for Virgin Active, not only aiming to grow participation in Yoga and Pilates across the globe, but supporting the growth and development of those who chose a career in these two healthful disciplines. He is also host of the Virgin Active Minds Podcast, speaking to global experts in the health and wellbeing world, including Sir Richard Branson himself. Info about our amazing courses: Link for "The Wellness Tribe", a vibrant wellness mastermind community, join us https://the-wellnessbusiness.com/enhance-your-wellbeing/ Book free 15-minute "Wellness Clarity" sessions to find out how we can help your wellness journey "https://app.10to8.com/book/rhxlvkwypahspuqdln/  For On-demand Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra Teacher Training click here: https://the-wellnessbusiness.com/product/restorative-yoga-and-yoganidra-teacher-training/For Yoga and Ayurveda Sadhana click here:  https://the-wellnessbusiness.com/product/yoga-ayurveda-sadhana-8-weeks/ For “Secrets of Sanskrit Mantra” click here: https://the-wellnessbusiness.com/product/secrets-of-sanskrit-mantra-online-course-level-2-can-be-done-standalone/ For “Sanskrit, Language of yoga” click here: https://the-wellnessbusiness.com/product/sanskrit-language-of-yoga-online-course-level-1-can-be-done-standalone/  Support the showBecome a Patreon & receive 4 gentle asana sessions, 2 Meditation sessions, Ayurveda tips/recipes, a Daily Meditation Integration planner & more bonus stuff, Monthly new content https://the-wellnessbusiness.com/product/monthly-membership/

Robert Cook is best known as a top hotelier, hospitality expert & CEO of some of the most respected brands in the world and more recently of TGI Friday's restaurant chain. No one is more well-versed in what it takes to be the man at the helm of some of the biggest and most powerful businesses out there, and in this incredible episode, he discusses his astounding career, as well as the recent battles that have shown him what it truly means to be bold and brave. KEY TAKEAWAYS Being bold and brave doesn't just extend to business. As a cancer-fighter, Robert knows that being bold and brave reaches far outside of just work, and into every corner of life. Life isn't always plain sailing. Challenges come at the most unexpected of times, and it's up to us to face them down and come out stronger. A positive mindset is so important. There's always a choice about how we look at a situation or choose to take action. Responding negatively can only derail us in the end. The best way leaders can lead, is by empowering our people to do the best job possible, and trusting them to carry our business values with them at all times. BEST MOMENTS 'You've got to be bold and brave for yourself, and for your family' 'One thing you've got to be is positive' 'Our job is to give them the tools to do the best job they can' This is the perfect time to get focused on what YOU want to really achieve in your business, career, and life. Josh is woken up by the incessant banging of some tradesmen and Christian and Dion wonder whether this could be improving Josh's life. We then discuss why tradies need to start work so early? Christian then tells Josh and Dion about feeling relief about an upcoming event being cancelled. He sees the night now as 'free' and able to be reclaimed as a night off - Josh and Dion think the right course of action is to plan a different night out with the same group who would have attended the event. Oh my! What will the Patchwork boys say next?! Josh then complains about his friends no longer coming to gigs that start at 3 in the morning. We then discuss our feelings towards an impromptu venue change and posit, is there a point of diminishing returns when spending time with friends? Have you inadvertently stolen anything and enjoyed the benefits of your theft? Josh recalls accidentally stealing a hand towel from a hotel and then Christian admits to A LOT of theft - especially from Virgin Active. We then talk about taking the frill neck lizard soaps from hotels and Josh literally says the words "Jacobean ruff". Dion then ponders, is there anything you do that makes you feel like a good person? Giving blood? Picking something up that someone else dropped? Are you looking for a fun way to exercise…that doesn't even feel like exercise?! In this inspiring episode, host Mark Seeto talks to Jade Rapley, Virgin Active Australia's head of cycling, about the rising trend of rhythm cycling. But what is rhythm cycling, and why is it so popular? Listen now to learn why it's more than just a cycling class. As in, it's a dance party, therapy, and joyous movement all rolled into one. Unlike other forms of cycling, rhythm cycling focuses on riding to the beat of the music rather than tracking numbers or calories burned. You'll walk away understanding why it's not just about the workout - it's about the experience. So if you're ready to try a new and addictive way to get moving, tune in to this episode to learn more about rhythm cycling. A heads up! This episode contains explicit language. Our favourite quotable moments: "It's a dance party. It's therapy." - Jade Rapley "You are riding to the beat of the music. There's no numbers, there's no calorie count, there's none of that." - Jade Rapley. "The main reason people are actually becoming addicted to rhythm cycle is because they just want to feel joyous in movement." - Jade Rapley "It is an experience. It's the music; it's a rhythm that takes you on this journey." - Jade Rapley Resources: About Virgin Active Cycle About Jade: Jade Rapley has dedicated over a decade of her career to the fitness industry, working exclusively with Virgin Active. Her unwavering devotion and strong passion for Rhythm cycle have led her to her current position as the National Cycle Head Coach of Australia. Prior to her foray into the fitness world, Jade was a professional dancer, having performed in various shows across the globe, including the renowned Moulin Rouge. Her love for music, connection, and joyful movement led her to seamlessly integrate these elements into her coaching of all things Rhythm cycle at VA, where she finds true happiness in living and breathing her passion. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/virginactiveaustralia/message
