How can you design an offsite that your team actually values? Most offsites fail because they are either too loose to be productive or too rigid to be meaningful. In episode 268 of At The Table, Patrick Lencioni and Cody break down what made their most recent offsite the best in decades. They reveal why the right mix of structure, vulnerability, and flexibility can transform an offsite into a powerful catalyst for alignment and trust.Topics explored in this episode: (00:03) Why Offsites Get a Bad ReputationOffsites often fail because they mix too many meeting types into one session. Many teams dread them due to wasted time and lack of meaningful outcomes.(02:23) The Stakes of a Great OffsitePulling people away from work and family raises the bar for value.A successful offsite must create alignment, trust, and forward momentum.(07:38) Designing with Flexibility, Not PerfectionLeaders chose a few key topics but intentionally left space in the agenda.Real value comes from adapting to what's happening in the room.(12:10) Creating Trust Through Real ConversationsSimple exercises like sharing emotions can unlock deeper vulnerability.Organic discussions—not presentations—lead to better decisions and engagement.(25:10) Blending Work, Fun, and MeaningSocial activities work best when lightly connected to the team and mission. The goal is for people to leave feeling known, aligned, and energized. This episode of At The Table with Patrick Lencioni is brought to you by The Table Group: https://www.tablegroup.com. I had the honor of speaking with Maaike Knoester for an interview on the 5 Star Assistant Podcast to discuss my 20-year career as an Executive Assistant, my book The Leader Assistant, and the journey of producing over 360 episodes of my own podcast. In this conversation we talk about challenging misconceptions about our profession. The greatest misunderstanding is that EAs are merely "one-trick ponies" focused on scheduling and expenses. In reality, we are strategic partners who see the whole picture for our executives. Internally, the biggest barrier I see is a lack of confidence, often stemming from attaching personal worth to job performance. To combat burnout and build a sustainable career, I emphasize two core principles:Detach your worth from your work. Your value as a person is separate from your job performance.Set clear boundaries. I made it a point with my current executive to log off on the weekends because you cannot truly help others long-term if you don't take care of yourself. Finally, when it comes to being busy, I see "multitasking" not as doing two things at once, but as the critical skill of prioritizing and context switching effectively between diverse responsibilities.Thank you, Maaike, for the opportunity to be on your show, and for asking such great questions!Show notes -> leaderassistant.com/373--It's the last day of the offsite and it was exactly what the team needed. In this episode of The Ross Simmonds Show, Ross makes the case that AI visibility isn't a new game — it's the result of a decade of distribution compounding in plain sight. He breaks down why CREAM is dead, why D.R.E.A.M. wins, and exactly which channels, from Reddit to YouTube to review sites, are shaping what Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity actually cite. Key Takeaways and Insights: The 10-Year Head Start Most Brands Missed AI visibility didn't start with ChatGPT. It started with consistent content distribution years before LLMs entered the conversation. The brands winning in AI-powered search today built authority everywhere, early. Momentum favors those who showed up first and often. CREAM Is Dead. DREAM Wins. "Content Rules Everything Around Me" is outdated. Distribution Rules Everything Around Me is the new mandate. Creation is easier than ever. Attention is not. Visibility in AI systems is engineered through amplification, not hope. Google Is Still the Dominant AI Platform The most-used AI discovery engine isn't ChatGPT or Perplexity. It's Google, and millions use it daily without realizing they're inside an AI-powered experience. AI Overviews shape answers before users ever see the 10 blue links. The goal is to influence the answer, not just the ranking. SEO Isn't Dead. It's a Distribution Channel. SEO remains critical for bottom-of-funnel and transactional queries. Double E-E-A-T, Experience, Expertise, Authority, Trust, matters more than ever. Most teams optimize pages. The best teams optimize ecosystems. Reddit's B2B Takeover Reddit now dominates high-CPC, long-tail, and commercial-intent SERPs and is generating millions of citations inside Google AI Overviews and LLM responses. The strategy: organic participation through authentic, useful answers in the right subreddits, and paid capture of high-intent users already validating buying decisions. YouTube as a Search Weapon Google prioritizes YouTube in AI results because it's inside their ecosystem, and AI Overviews are increasingly embedding video responses. If you'd write a blog post about it, you should consider filming it. Influencer collaborations can shift SERP narratives faster than most teams realize. Review Sites and Third-Party Validation G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, Yelp, and TripAdvisor are high-trust sources that LLMs actively pull from. Reviews and awards influence AI credibility signals directly. Fill out every field. Encourage every review. Do the unsexy work, because LLMs do. Offsite Mentions and Digital PR as AI Fuel Inside LLMs, brand mentions matter, not just backlinks. Guest posts, podcasts, newsletters, and press build the narrative association that shapes AI understanding. Repeated brand and category pairing across the web is how you train AI to associate you with your space. Marketing is distributed storytelling at scale. The Modern Distribution Stack SEO foundation. Reddit, organic and paid. YouTube strategy. Review site optimization. Offsite mentions and digital PR. Your website is one node in the system, not the whole system. Resources & Tools:

Key Takeaways and Insights: The New B2B Buyer Journey -Buyers seek personalized answers in Slack groups, Discord, WhatsApp, Reddit, and LLMs. -LLMs frequently leverage Reddit to inform their responses. -Influence now happens in communities—not just on your website. -If you're not present where conversations happen, you're invisible at decision time. Reddit's Influence on LLMs & AI Search -Platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini pull insights from Reddit. -Reddit Answers (Reddit's native AI tool) is growing rapidly. -Showing up on Reddit increases your likelihood of influencing AI-generated responses. -Reddit is now an upstream distribution channel for AI visibility. SEO Fundamentals Still Win -Clean site architecture and clear navigation matter. -Optimize for real search queries—not internal jargon. -Remove redundant branding from meta titles. -Prioritize site speed, mobile-first performance, and backlinks. Offsite Optimization Beyond Backlinks -Be included in “best tools” lists and review content. -Win in comparison threads and niche discussions on Reddit. -Influence buying decisions where prospects evaluate options. -Visibility off your domain often matters more than traffic to it. Word of Mouth as a Growth Flywheel -Word of mouth was ranked the #1 buying factor in a Winter study. -Engineer moments that inspire customers to talk. -Reviews, tweets, blog posts, and Reddit threads compound over time. -Build systems that generate advocacy—don't leave it to chance. Listen, Learn, Leap: The Reddit Framework -Listen: Audit what customers are saying about you. -Learn: Identify content trends and cultural norms in subreddits. -Leap: Create native content that aligns with community expectations. -Treat Reddit as a long-term investment, not a campaign channel. Finding Content-Market Fit on Reddit -Sort subreddit posts by “Top” to uncover engagement patterns. -Reverse engineer themes that drive upvotes and comments. -Look for repeated formats: transparent case studies, financial breakdowns, how-tos. -Validate resonance before scaling your posting cadence. Niche Down to Win -Large subreddits are competitive—start in focused communities. -Every B2B niche likely has an active subreddit. -Example: Reverse engineering content for r/MSPs led to strong traction. -Precision beats volume in early-stage Reddit growth. Create for Reddit Culture -Blend educational, engaging, entertaining, and empowering content. -Publish consistently once you understand audience expectations. -Repetition works—humans gravitate toward familiar story structures. -If you've truly listened, your audience won't fatigue. Prefabrication has moved beyond proof of concept. In this kickoff episode of Prefab, Unfiltered, recorded live at Advancing Prefabrication, Todd Weyandt explores what it really means to enter the execution era of prefab. The debate is no longer about whether prefabrication or modular construction works. It's about scale, repeatability, and partnership. From data centers driving massive MEP prefabrication growth to owners rethinking procurement and risk models, the industry is shifting from experimentation to operational maturity. In this episode, we unpack: Why data centers are accelerating prefab adoption How scale changes the economics of modular construction What true construction partnership actually looks like Why culture and contracts may be the next barriers to innovation If you care about prefabrication, offsite construction, BIM-to-fabrication workflows, or the future of construction innovation, this conversation sets the tone for what comes next. The execution era has begun. MEET OUR GUEST Amy Marks is a leading voice in prefabrication and industrialized construction, with more than a decade of experience advancing offsite construction, modular strategies, and large-scale MEP prefabrication. She has played a significant role in helping owners, contractors, and manufacturers move beyond transactional project delivery and toward scalable, repeatable partnership models. Her work has been especially influential in mission-critical sectors such as data centers, where standardization and scale are reshaping how projects are delivered. Amy focuses not only on components and assemblies, but also on the culture, procurement models, contracts, and executive alignment required to make prefabrication successful at scale. Todd Takes Prefabrication Has Entered the Execution Era For years, the industry focused on proving that prefabrication works. That debate is over. Prefab works. Modular construction works. Offsite strategies work. The real question now is whether we can execute consistently and at scale. Can we repeat results across projects? Can we move from isolated success stories to operational maturity? The future of prefabrication is no longer about experimentation. It is about discipline, ecosystem alignment, and getting better with every project. Prefab is no longer experimental. It is professional. Partnership Is a Business Model, Not a Buzzword The construction industry talks about partnership often, especially in prefabrication and modular construction. But there is a difference between transactional vendors and true partners. If five companies are bidding every project, that is procurement. It is not partnership. Real partnership involves shared risk, shared reward, executive-level communication, transparency when challenges arise, and a long-term commitment to scale together. In data center construction and other high-volume sectors, partnership is becoming structural, not optional. When both sides are fully invested, prefabrication scales. Scale Changes Everything Scale is the unlock for industrialized construction. When companies move beyond living project to project, they gain the breathing room to invest in systems, standardization, workforce development, and repeatable prefab workflows. Data centers are currently driving that scale, especially across MEP prefabrication and modular assemblies. The lessons being learned in data center construction today will influence healthcare, semiconductor, commercial, and even housing in the years ahead. Scale creates maturity. Maturity creates repeatability. Repeatability drives the future of prefabrication. More Resources Thanks for listening! In this episode of Next in Media, I sit down with Kiri Masters, host of the Retail Media Breakfast Club podcast, to explore the biggest shifts happening in retail media advertising. We dive into the recent announcement about ads coming to ChatGPT and what that means for brands trying to meet consumers where they are. Kiri shares her perspective on whether AI-powered shopping will truly disrupt the retail media landscape - and why she's optimistic that LLM-based ads could actually be more relevant and less annoying than traditional formats. We also unpack the Walmart-Google partnership and discuss what it signals about the future of conversational commerce.Beyond the AI conversation, we tackle some of the industry's most pressing questions. Will we see consolidation in retail media networks this year? Can shoppable TV finally gain traction? And what happens when offsite retail media faces competition from platforms with their own transactional data? Kiri brings both historical context - including a fascinating story about Piggly Wiggly's self-service revolution - and forward-looking insights about how brands and retailers need to collaborate differently. Whether you're a marketer navigating this space or just curious about where AI and commerce intersect, this conversation offers a clear-eyed look at what's real, what's hype, and what's coming next._______________________________________________Key Highlights
