The follow-up to Kristin Casey's widely acclaimed memoir Rock Monster: My Life with Joe WalshCasey Dancer is the true story of a thirty-nine-year-old part-time stripper, full-time real estate agent, and struggling writer navigating the chaos of love and ambition. Fresh from a tumultuous breakup and newly sober, Kristin finds herself struggling to re-enter the dating scene. When she falls for Lalo, a charming but troubled ex-coke dealer, their steamy affair leads to deep emotional conflict, testing her boundaries and stirring memories of past relationships. Through the highs of passion, the lows of financial strain, and the harsh realities of erotic labor, Kristin fights to reclaim her sense of self. Bold, raw, and unapologetically honest, Casey Dancer is a story of resilience, vulnerability, and self-discovery."In Casey Dancer, Kristin Casey invites readers into an unfiltered exploration of her journey through the complexities of sex, dating, and intimacy, transcending the superficial allure of romantic entanglements to uncover the raw truths that lie beneath. This candid memoir serves as a fearless examination of the often-unspoken realities of modern relationships, revealing not only the euphoric highs of passionate encounters but also the deep vulnerabilities that arise when one dares to be truly seen by another. With an honesty that is both refreshing and disarming, Kristin confronts her own choices and experiences with genuine curiosity, challenging societal norms and expectations along the way. Throughout the memoir, she thoughtfully references her first book, Rock Monster, which chronicled her whirlwind relationship with rock legend Joe Walsh. These poignant callbacks serve as effective reminders of where she's been and how those experiences have shaped her understanding of love and self. Through her journeys, both physical and emotional, Kristin pushes boundaries in ways that are not only refreshing but also deeply relatable. She invites readers to join her on a path of self-acceptance, exploring the intersections of sexuality, identity, and the relentless passage of time. Casey Dancer dares to ask the difficult questions, embracing the messy, beautiful, and sometimes painful realities of being human. It is a celebration of resilience, a testament to the strength found in vulnerability, and an invitation for readers to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery." -Chris Epting, memoirist and author of forty-five books including Where One Hears the RainBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

Break out the marshmelons 'cause we're sharing our pain over the beautiful mess of "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier"!Writer and podcaster Joe Mazel joins the show this week to discuss the installment of the Trek film franchise that everyone loves to hate (or hates to love). Life is returning to normal for the crew of the Enterprise-A, if you can ignore the ship's gremlins and Bones's singing. But when Kirk and crew are ordered to deal with a hostage crisis, they'll be pulled into a tale of false prophets, long lost brothers, and the secrets of the universe! No film could have adequately followed the commercial and critical success of The voyage Home, so it's perhaps fitting that Star Trek V was such an odd and experimental departure for the franchise. Even though the production of the film itself was almost derailed by behind-the-scenes disasters, The Final Frontier had the courage to challenge what fans expected from a Trek feature and explore the seldom-considered topic of faith and religion in the 23rd century. On this episode, we talk about the late-night-TV origins of the film's premise, the deftness of the script despite its many rewrites, the film's often murky social commentary, getting everyone around the campfire, "deciding" to become a Star Trek fan, the "Odd-Numbered Curse", and the film's place in the Bennett Quadrilogy. We also discuss the changing comics industry, Old Man Scorsese, whether Johnny Storm is a Mets fan, fighting Batman and the Ghostbusters, shooting God in the face, learning that movies can be bad, space evangelists, Laurence "Mr. Hollywood" Luckinbill, the many faces of patriarchy, how Starfleet hates Kirk, "kitty pools", burying the lirpa, Deep State Nine, getting your socialist utopia food card, and why there are no conservative utopias.ROCK MONSTER!Follow Joe on Twitter and listen to ABCD: TOS!https://twitter.com/joemazel1https://twitter.com/abcdtosLearn the story behind your favorite Trek episodes with BackTrekking!http://www.twitter.com/backtrekkingShare your pain with us on Facebook and Twitter and the Just Enough Trope Discord!http://www.facebook.com/eistpodhttp://www.twitter.com/eistpodhttps://discord.gg/WVvCHVWqzfBuy us a blue horse on Patreon and Ko-Fi!http://www.patreon.com/eistpodhttps://ko-fi.com/E1E01M2UASubscribe to the show on iTunes!https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/enterprising-individuals/id1113165661?mt=2

From sly references to Jim Kirk's hubris to Sigourney Weaver climbing through airducts, again, this film is filled with all the easter eggs sci-fi fans love. We fight Gorignak the Rock Monster, we love Fred falling in love with tentacle girls (gotta skirt that line very carefully), and all the while hoping Guy doesn't go the way of the "red shirts" to be offed on an alien planet. Standard Orbit: A Star Trek Original Series Podcast

No One Sets Out To Make A Bad Movie. In this episode of Standard Orbit, your Refit Crew continues their voyage through the Original Series Cast Movies with Star Trek V: The Final Frontier; heading towards July 22 and BEYOND! After the enormous box office success of The Voyage Home, the studio decided to continue the cinematic universe with a fifth production: The Final Frontier. William Shatner, who had a contract that ensured he and Nimoy got equal footing, was given the reins to direct. The Final Frontier was a very challenged production and the Chief and Mr. AtoZ try to unpack the issues that plagued ST:V. Was the plot an all too familiar and common trope in Star Trek? Did Shatner elevate the screen presence of the “Big Three” - Kirk, Spock and McCoy - at the expense of the rest of his crew and acting comrades? Did Laurence Luckinbill’s portrayal of an emotionally charged Vulcan fly in the face of what we knew of Vulcan canon from TOS Join us as we warp ahead into the finer points of The Final Frontier. We also reflect on the untimely and tragic passing of Anton Yelchin; a brilliant, young actor who will forever be loved by Star Trek fans as the Kelvin Era's Ensign Pavel Chekov. Traditionally, Samhain is celebrated from sunset on 31 October to sunset on 1 November, which is about halfway between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice. It is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals, along with Imbolc, Beltane and Lughnasadh. Historically, it was widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man. Similar festivals are held at the same time of year in other Celtic lands; for example the Brythonic Calan Gaeaf (in Wales), Kalan Gwav (in Cornwall), and Kalan Goañv (in Brittany). * Did you get to listen to Show #229: 2-Hours of Celtic Fiddle Music. The weather & dramatic ocean effects in Twister, Deep Impact and The Perfect Storm?  The T-Rex in Jurassic Park II? The multiplying puppies in 101 Dalmations? And how about the mischievous monkeys in Jumanji? All of these memorable movie experiences and many more are the work of visual effects expert Ed Kramer.
