Brendan Berry grew up feeling uncomfortable in his body. Anxiety and suicidal thoughts came early and he found himself in many situations where he felt like an outsider. He excelled in sports, but even that seemed to take him away from his peers as his skills meant he was asked to play at higher levels with older kids. Rita Gigante grew up in a world swirling with secrets, lies, and multiple sins. Her father, notorious Mafia boss Vincent "the Chin" Gigante, was the leader of the Genovese crime clan and the head of all five New York crime families for decades. But until she was 16, she was kept in the dark about his underworld activities. She unknowingly hung out at mob headquarters and witnessed her dad's whispered meetings around the dinner table, but only knew what she was told by her mother and siblings about his odd behavior: Dad's sick. Keep your mouth shut. Don't talk about the family. Living with the family secret--and other shocking betrayals she was to uncover, then instructed to conceal--plunged Rita into emotional and physical turmoil for years. Then there was the blockbuster secret she herself kept hidden away: As the youngest girl in an old-fashioned, devout Catholic family, how could she confess to the unforgiving Godfather that she was a lesbian? They were all going to hell, she figured unless she could find a way to embrace the truth and find redemption.Today Rita Gigante is a gifted and sought-after Intuitive Psychic, Medium, and Healer. Marsha Stone grew up in Southern Georgia to a family that struggled with generational alcoholism. She eventually married her best drinking buddy and quickly had three kids, then just as quickly she was alone. The responsibility of raising them fell squarely on her shoulders and the fear of how she would care for them left her with many sleepless nights. She decided she wanted to go to law school and believed her three young kids and their situation seemed to guarantee that she would have a chance to get her school paid for. And sure enough, it did.In law school, her alcoholism took off, but she told herself it was all reasonable. Anyone in her difficult situation would do the same thing. The alcohol started to cause her to slip near the end of her education, but she was able to keep it together just long enough to graduate. Then came a law career speckled with heavy drinking and even saw her sneaking cocaine into the courtroom before finally getting sober in 2008. Since then Marsha has found success in addiction recovery as one of the few female CEOs in the industry. In 2023 she founded Foundation Stone, a network of boutique, focused programs for individuals and their families struggling with mental health, substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders across the U.S. Their first featured treatment center, Amend opened in Austin, Texas in spring 2023.Episode ResourcesWebsite | marshastone.comAmend Wellness | amendwellnessretreat.comConnect with MarshaInstagram | @marsha.stone_atxConnect with The Courage to ChangePodcast Website | lionrock.life/couragetochangepodcastPodcast Instagram | @couragetochange_podcastYouTube | The Courage to Change PodcastTikTok | @ashleyloebblassingamePodcast Email | podcast@lionrock.lifePodcast Facebook | @thecouragetochangepodcastLionrock ResourcesLionrock Life Mobile App | lionrock.life/mobile-appSupport Group Meeting Schedule | lionrock.life/meetings

The treatment would enhance the neuroplasticity of her mind and facilitate progress which would typically take years of work. In 4 sessions, Vanessa experienced a transformation that changed her experience of her brother's death and her entire outlook on life. It even provided her the opportunity to see him one last time and give him the goodbye she'd always wanted.Episode ResourcesKetamine Assisted Psychotherapy | KAP ProgramConnect with VanessaInstagram | @vanessawheelerhurrConnect with The Courage to ChangePodcast Website | lionrock.life/couragetochangepodcastPodcast Instagram | @couragetochange_podcastYouTube | The Courage to Change PodcastTikTok | @ashleyloebblassingamePodcast Email | podcast@lionrock.lifePodcast Facebook | @thecouragetochangepodcastLionrock ResourcesLionrock Life Mobile App | lionrock.life/mobile-appSupport Group Meeting Schedule | lionrock.life/meetings
