As we're doing this, more numbers—statistics & data—are emerging making us more consciously aware of using our ability to discern what's fact & what's fiction.As always, this podcast looks back before moving forward to better see clearly in hindsight what energies have triggered what might come next. So, as we waxed toward the Sun/Uranus square August 24, Venus entered Leo August 25--& then exact opposed Pluto in Aquarius August 26/27—we've experienced some shocks & surprises.One related to the plan to infiltrate of federal troops into Chicago, others related to firings of top officials at the Federal Reserve Bank, & the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)--& yet another violent school shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota.As we move toward a more “tell it like it is” phase of discernment as part of this Virgo New Moon monthly lunar cycle, we're experiencing also the intensity of emotions around such events. This podcast looks at the factual events that have occurred this past week, including the Venus/Pluto opposition's position in the U.S. Sibly natal chart & its relationship to capitalism as we're still undergoing the U.S. Pluto return's already triggered energies.This podcast discusses the intensity of the backlash by blue state's governor's against President Trump's current power grabs, as well as the VE/PL opposition's repercussions to limit the foundational freedom of governmental agencies & others.We also witnessed the firing by President Trump of the Federal Reserve board member, Lisa Cook, on a “non-proven” claim of mortgage fraud, thus endangering the independence of the U.S. federal bank which its had since its inception.Likewise for Trump's firing of the head of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) now under the control of vaccine denier Health & Human Secretary Robert F. Kennedy's control. More children will now contract & possibly die from Covid, which is currently rising now as we approach the fall, as the CDC, now filled with kooks & non-medically trained sycophants. Measles diagnoses, once thought under control in the U.S., has also been rising slowly but steadily in the recent past too.All of this as we approach the upcoming wounded healer Chiron's conjunction to Eris, the goddess of discord, chaos, & strife by October 9. That these two, both now retrograde in Aries, will conjoin again next year, does not bode well for calm & continuity in the short term as we finish out this year & begin the next one.  Then there's the horrible mass school shooting in Minneapolis, MN, after the Venus/Pluto opposition perfected on August 27 that sparked yet again the call for “thoughts & prayers” for the two children shot to death & the 17 others wounded in the church of the Annunciation Catholic school there. Reality bites, as they say, & when Uranus sextiled Neptune August 28, we received the opportunity to grow in consciousness, assuming we recognized the facts that led to any revelations born out of reliable Virgoan statistics & data. The question becomes: Are people waking up to not only the creeping authoritarianism in this country AND that it's time to FINALLY legislate effective gun control. This sextile notes that the universe can lead us to the waters of consciousness, but it cannot make us drink. Meanwhile, the first quarter monthly lunar square of the Sagittarius Moon to the Virgo Sun August 30/31 reveals the tension between Sadge Moon's urging expansion of our critical thinking skills to “call a spade a spade versus the quest of the Virgo Sun for “perfection.” The latter represents “telling it like it is,” while the former is wishful “pie in the sky.”When Saturn retrograde reenters Pisces September 1, we've the opportunity to review what truly makes us feel secure & to ask ourselves whether we find security only in our material world. Or whether, deep down in our soul, we have the security of knowing that—no matter what happens we can always take care of ourselves & survive.Mercury then enters discerning Virgo on September 2 (until October 6) & promptly squares Uranus in Gemini September 3. Are more sudden announcements coming—perhaps ones that precede or precipitate more communication around movements of federal military troops into our cities. And will that that spark an even more intensely explosive reaction than those from Governor's Pritzger & Newsom of IL & CA, respectively, to date, as Mars in Libra exact squares Jupiter in Cancer on September 4?Keep an eye on the fact that Mars in Libra first squares Jupiter in Cancer exact @ 18'35” on September 4, but then begins to wax into an opposition to Eris at & then Chiron. That happens on September 15 when Mars in Libra opposes Eris at 25'28” Aries, & then Chiron @26'12 Libra to Aries on September 16.That we are in for a longer period of chaos & discord—both born of our previous wounds & potentially causing future wounding—seems clear since the exact Chiron/Eris conjunction in Aries won't occur until October 9. As we wax toward the Sagittarius Full Moon on June 11, we first experience the Mercury/Jupiter conjunction in Gemini June 8 which, as its been waxing has broadcast some interesting news about a major break up. Seems the public spat between President Donald Trump & billionaire Elon Musk made its way onto social media & we've been privy to the exaggerated claims & taunts of both men.The pending breakup of this bromance had long been forecast by astrologers, especially since transiting Uranus once again conjoined “off with his head” fixed star Algol circa May 4. This energy began when Mars & Uranus conjoined close to Algol July 15, 2024, & on July 13 an assassin tried to shoot Trump at his political rally in Butler, PA, on July 13. When we combine this Mercury/Jupiter in Gemini spat with the energies of the waxing first quarter “crisis in action” Mars/Uranus square (which perfects on June 15), we see their influence on this sudden, acrimonious, loudly conducted & widely publicized bromance breakup.This podcast explores how both Trump & Musk have Sun/Uranus aspects in their chart, yet neither of them seem to consciously notice their own erratic tendencies. Plus, how Musk's Cancer Sun/Libra Uranus cardinal square makes him futuristically progress-oriented, while Trump's SU/UR conjunction in Gemini seems to be about destroying conventional norms but then adapting by taking us back in time.Their recent public social media argument (it is Gemini season, after all, & this archetypal energy joined with Jupiter in Gemini likes to loudly exaggerate) has become the breakup fight heard ‘round the world. During their back & forth, Musk called for Trump's impeachment, Trump threatened to withhold billions of dollars of Musk's current government contracts, & Musk retaliated by saying his SpaceX company's Dragon Spacecraft would no longer resupply the international space station or ferry astronauts there & back. Their whole argument began when Musk suddenly objected to Trump's “big beautiful bill's” inclusion of the elimination of electric vehicle tax credits which are valuable to Musk's company, Tesla. The bill now sits in the Senate, which has not yet sent its version back to the House. Meanwhile, Trump would lose out on Musk's financial support for Republicans in future election battles, never mind that Musk funded Trump's presidential campaign to the tune of $230 million in 2024. Before long, however, Musk backed down from his last threat & is seeking “a conversation” with Trump, which makes us wonder how long it will be before both money-obsessed characters (& yes, you can be a billionaire & still be obsessed about money, lol) might kiss & make up. And whether or not breaking up is actually hard to do, lol...Thus far, Trump has refused, so whether Trump's natal wounds around partnership, plus his current transits--such as the fact that Uranus in his 10th is now squaring his Leo Ascendant/Aquarius Descendant, denoting sudden changes in partnership—will last, who knows? We also see he's approaching a Mars return as transiting Mars approaches a conjunction to his natal Mars in Leo on his Ascendant—the latter a recipe for having a chip on his shoulder--& has a few other interesting transits & progressions, so tune in to find out more!Meanwhile, Venus is now in Taurus since June 5/6 as Mercury & Jupiter both enter Moon-ruled Cancer on June 8 & 9, respectively, & we wax toward the June 11 Sagittarius Full Moon which forms a mutable square to the transiting nodal axis. Hard on the heels of the recent transit of Jupiter square to the Virgo South Node & Pisces North Node, there will likely be much legal news as a result, especially out of the Supreme Court now that it's term has ended & we know decisions are forthcoming. A couple of things seem certain, too, the first being that our emotional sensitivity—especially around our financial stability or lack thereof (Venus in Taurus)—will be heightened now. Along with this, however, we may begin to expand our intuitive capabilities (Jupiter in Cancer) to see beyond the boundaries of our local scenario into wider, longer-term implications for the future. (Perhaps Musk's 5'53” Cancer Sun will benefit from the pending conjunction by Jupiter between now & July 5, & reunited with Trump—hey, you never know, if not, they both have a lot to lose…)  Meanwhile, by the time we reach this week's Sagittarius Full Moon which occurs at 20'39” of Sagittarius at 12:44 am PT & 3:44 a.m. ET on June 11, we may experience the height of changed perspectives because we now know that we may have been tricked into believing things we were told were in our best interest are actually far from that. As always, this full Moon reflects the light of the Sun back onto itself, revealing its shadow side. So, this particular lunation—in the U.S., at least--has the Sagittarius Moon highlighting the trickster nature of the Gemini's Sun's attempts to bamboozle us through his sleight of hand “if we take from the poor to give to the rich, it's to benefit YOU.” Hence, we are asked at this Sagittarius Full Moon to release our old perceptions—based on the Geminian tendency to collect & pass misinformation, disinformation, propaganda, & conspiracy theories without analyzing any of it. This may prove hard to do, however, since Venus forms a fixed square to Pluto & Mercury squares Neptune still at this lunation—both recipes for financial coercion & obfuscation about, or distortion of, facts. This becomes relevant, in the U.S. at least, to continued attempts by the U.S. Congress to come up with an acceptable budget reconciliation bill which it's trying to do by July 4 to avoid having the U.S. fall off a fiscal cliff. All of this as we approach the exact Leo Mars/Taurus Uranus opening square in its synodic cycle, and the same when Jupiter in Cancer forms an exact first quarter cardinal square to Saturn in Aries, all on June 15. What's different now, however, is the fact that deceit usually takes place behind the scenes. But when we equate Biden's sudden announcement on May 18 with the symbolic nature of the currently ongoing U.S. Pluto return, we glean from the symbolism that something that's been hidden for a long time has now become obvious. Since the prostate is archetypally aligned with Pluto's Scorpio, & Biden's illness was reportedly long in the making but unknown to his doctors, this sudden revelation symbolizes how the U.S. has likewise been rotting from the inside out for quite some time & we simply never noticed.Now, however, all of these recent Sun, Mercury, & Uranus aspects in the sky have alerted us to the fact that this current president's grift-- now so commonplace, so boldly out in the open--is so easily accepted by those who could/should call it out for what it is. Ergo, we need to release our tendency to decide to suddenly do an about face vis-a-vis our long held traditional values.This becomes even clearer when we remember two things: That Pluto is now transiting through the Uranus-ruled sign of Aquarius, denoting that evolutionary change over the long term is necessary & that it may be led by the eventual progressive empowerment of groups; & that the U.S. is undergoing still its Pluto return which began in February 2022.The Taurus Sun normally does not like change. It likes its creature comforts & finds security in its resources, including land, money, and its physical body & possessions. In short, Taurus is reluctant to change what it deems pleasurable. That's because we don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater in terms of its basic principles such as that “all men are created equal,” and that the U.S. Government is one “of the people, by the people, for the people.”What will be necessary in the years to come, under the tutelage of Pluto in Aquarius, will be an update to the meaning of these words. “All men,” for example should not mean only White male Christian aristocratic landowners or corporate robber barons. It must extend its humanitarian Aquarian nature into a more collectively Neptunian sense that ALL humans deserve equal rights—including minorities, women, immigrants, LGBTQ+, etc.--& that corporations & billionaires must not tyrannically control the masses. These are the immediate issues to ponder as transiting Jupiter in Gemini forms a square to the transiting Virgo South Node & Pisces North Node, which urges us to move away from trying to control every aspect of our environment & toward relaxing into a more empathic, inclusive one. This is especially true right now in terms of Jupiter-related archetypes: law, immigration, higher education, religion, & a free press (read: freedom of speech.) As we move toward the third quarter monthly “crisis in consciousness” lunar square of the Aquarius Moon to the Taurus Sun on May 20, the tension between groups of people and a stubborn pleasure-loving executive may become even more palpable. On April 8—after a surprisingly quick conclave in Rome that lasted less than two full days—the first American-born Pope was chosen to lead the world's 1.4 billion Catholics. In addition to being the first American to become pope, Pope Leo XIV is also the first member of the Augustinian Order, a Catholic religious order founded in 1244. Think of the starving children in Gaza (& other places deprived of food & medical care due to war and the now defunct services from USAID), & how U.S. farmers' crops rot in silos due to increased tariffs on importing nations. Then there's the fact that Mercury square Pluto at this lunation brings a measure of obsessiveness to the U.S. House of Representatives' struggle still to come up with a governmental budget reconciliation bill by Memorial Day that doesn't throw 77 million people off of Medicaid—especially in GOP districts. And that's just so corporate billionaires can reduce their taxes under a proposed extension of President Trump's 2017 corporate tax reduction due to expire by end 2025. And that's not even mentioning financial cuts already made to Veteran's benefits & potential cuts to Medicare, Social Security, etc., & the loss of medical benefits of laid off or fired federal workers under unelected billionaire Elon Musk's DOGE. We discuss the sticking point of state & local tax caps (read: reducing family's tax deductions) bandied about in the House now, too…There's also the implications of transiting Jupiter in Gemini's pending mutable square to the transiting Virgo South Node & Pisces North Node as all things Jupiter-related have made their way into the news recently. Law, higher education, foreign travel (read: immigration), media, & religion—of which the new first time American Pope's election is but one subject under Jupiter's domain—are all prominent now, especially between May 15-28 as both the Mean & True Nodes are squared exact by Jupiter during this period. Keep in mind, too, that more surprises are ahead--not only at the Scorpio Full Moon opposite the Sun & Uranus in Taurus May 12—but between now and the Sun's exact conjunction to Uranus on May 17.

The Moon is on Sabian symbol 25 Leo, A large camel crossing the desert. This is a symbol of self-sufficiency, and a reminder that self-expression requires personal down time. [8:55] The Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). This is the Full Moon in a LPFC that began with the New Moon on Aug. 16, 2023, at 23°17' Leo. The First Quarter of this LPFC was on May 15, 2024, at 25°08' Leo, and the Last Quarter is on Nov. 11 at 20°04' Leo. [10:32] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. On Feb. 10 (5:49 AM PST), the Moon in Cancer trines Neptune. It's VOC for 3 hours 12 minutes before it enters Leo (9:01 am PST). Intuition and sensitivity are a feature of this VOC Moon. But practice separating your feelings from other people's. Practice empathy, but don't forget boundaries. [11:47] On Feb. 12 (11:12 am PST), the Moon in Leo opposes Mercury. It's VOC for 5 hours and 55 minutes, then enters Virgo (5:07 pm PST). Here is a VOC period to get in the habit of using your mind alongside your heart to make decisions or to communicate. Strike a balance between logic and emotion. [12:27] On Feb. 15 (12:35 am PST), the Moon opposes Neptune. It's VOC for 3 hours 10 minutes, then enters Libra (3:45 am PST). And word has it there will be more anon…after all, the Jupiter mission, now direct, is expansion, lol... We wait to see if there are any new major shocking announcements of the legal sort between now & February 9's Aquarius Sun/Mercury conjunction,  Mars/Saturn trine, February 10's Mercury/Uranus square, & February 11's Sun/Uranus square, as we head into the February 12's Leo Full Moon.We do know that Trump's been experiencing a square from transiting Saturn in Pisces from his 7th House of partnership to his natal 10th House Gemini Uranus (which conjoins his Gemini North Node & Sun there), likely spurring his need to shock through unconventional pronouncements. Since several judges have stayed his Executive Orders on issues concerning U.S. birthright, stoppage of funding via USAID, lay-offs of federal workers, granting non elected individuals access to the Treasury Department's payment system, and more, to date, we may well have Saturn to thank. Especially since transiting Saturn will go on to exact square his natal Nodes, Sagittarius Moon, & Gemini Sun--all by April 12, we may see more delays or shut downs of these efforts. Mercury, the god of communication had a lot to say about these subjects when he met up with Pluto, god of the underworld who represents death & rebirth, power, sex, & finances in the form of joint resources & other peoples' money.This podcast discusses the astrology behind recent announcements between February 5-8 that carry such themes. The Sabian symbol for the Full Moon is 16 Leo, Sunshine just after a storm. The Sun's Sabian symbol is 16 Aquarius, A big-business man at his desk. [13:12] The Sun in Aquarius and Full Moon in Leo are both square Uranus, forming a T-square configuration. Last week's First Quarter Moon in Taurus was conjunct Uranus and this week's Sun is square to Uranus and is approaching Saturn. Tension is plentiful at this time. [14:56] This is the Full Moon in a Lunar Phase Family that began with a New Moon on August 8, 2021 at 16°14' Leo. In that New Moon chart, the Sun and Moon were opposed Saturn and square Uranus. It's time to get out there and begin showing our joyful, creative Uranian selves, but don't forget those Saturnian boundaries. [16:47] Void-of-Course Moon periods (VOC). Timestamps [1:26]  Venus (Scorpio 18°47') squares Saturn (Aquarius 18°47') on Nov. 6, 2022 at 11:33 pm PST.  Expect to work a little harder to get what you want. [3:52] Election Day in the U.S. coincides with a Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse (Nov. 8, 2022, 3:02 am PST, at 16°01' Taurus) on the Sabian symbol 17 Taurus: A symbolic battle between swords and torches.  The Moon is in an exact conjunction with Uranus, opposed the Sun, Venus, and Mercury in Scorpio, and all of them square Saturn in Aquarius. This is the molecular opposite of "chill." [7:10] The release point for this fixed T-Square is in Leo. Creativity, play, and focusing on your own pursuits are great coping mechanisms for any intensity you may experience. Then, look to previous eclipses near 16º Taurus - most recently: May 10, 2013 (Solar eclipse, 19°Taurus), Nov. 9, 2003 (Lunar Eclipse, 16°Taurus), May 10, 1994 (Solar Eclipse, 19°48' Taurus), and Nov. 8, 1984 (Lunar Eclipse, 16°30' Taurus). How do important themes and events in these years relate to the present day? [10:20] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods for this week. Upbeat Jupiter has the final say right now! [10:54] On Nov. 9th (4:00 am PST), the Moon (Taurus 29°09') sextiles Jupiter (Pisces 29°09') and then is VOC for a little over an hour before entering Gemini (5:37 am PST).  Stability and resources are available to support a big vision. [11:49] The Moon at 29°02' Gemini squares Jupiter on Nov. 11th (2:28 pm PST).  It's VOC for just under two hours before entering Cancer at 4:22 pm PST. A terrific time to capture your big ideas in writing. [12:50] The Sun and Mercury (Scorpio 16°15') make their superior conjunction on Nov. 8 (8:43 am PST).  Mercury opposes Uranus at 16°55' Taurus later that day (6:40 pm PST).  Since this is Election Day in the U.S., we could experience some unexpected voting or vote counting issues (though is that really unexpected at this point?). [14:10] The Sun (Scorpio 16°54') opposes Uranus (Taurus 16°54'0) on Nov. 9 (12:26 am PST). This is an opportunity to free ourselves not just from the expectations of other people but also from our own ideas of who we are and who we have to be.  See if you can connect the dots to the conjunction (May 2022) and square (August 2022) in this Sun-Uranus cycle. [15:19] Mercury (Scorpio 18°52') squares Saturn (Aquarius 18°52') on Nov. 10 (11:51 pm PST). All things Mercury are going to take more determination and effort.  Just keep working hard and success will be yours! [16:42] The Sun (Scorpio 18°54') squares Saturn (Aquarius 18°54') on Nov. 11 (12:04 am PST).  This aspect is like trying to grow something, (aka you!) in very hard, compacted soil.  You could feel exhausted and pessimistic, but don't give up! [18:30] Venus (22°47' Scorpio) trines Neptune (22°47' Pisces) on Nov. 10 (4:22 am PST).  Mercury (22°46' Scorpio) trines Neptune (22°46' Pisces) on Nov. 12 at 10:36 am PST. The Sabian symbol for Mercury and Venus at 23 Scorpio is A bunny metamorphosed into a fairy, and Neptune is on 23 Pisces, Spiritist Phenomena which we sometimes see written as A materializing medium. Both symbols speak about transformation on a spiritual level. [21:06] Finally, on Nov. 13 at 1:41 am PST, Venus (Scorpio 26°25') sextiles Pluto (Capricorn 26°25').  Venus squared Pluto on October 19, 2022, and they will meet in a conjunction on December 31, 2022. Venus is on the Sabian symbol 27 Scorpio, A military band on the march, and Pluto is on 27 Capricorn, A mountain pilgrimage.  Time to put assemble a team, put on a snappy outfit, and start marching towards a lofty goal. [1:08] Venus opposes Pluto on August 8th, marking the halfway point in this yearlong Venus/Pluto cycle. This opposition might shed light on some of the decisions you've made regarding your relationships, with Venus offering a gentler perspective of last winter's Venus/Pluto conjunctions. [3:27] The Sun squares the North Node on August 10, reaching the midpoint between eclipse seasons and urging the release of emotional baggage. It  then squares Uranus on August 11th, on the now-familiar Sabian symbol A newly formed continent. Liberate yourself from old ideas about who you are or have to be. [6:40] August 11th is a busy day! Venus enters *Leeeeeeoooooo*, where it celebrates playful pursuits and colorful costumes through September 4th. [7:42] Also on August 11th, Mars makes a sextile to Neptune, with Mars on the Sabian symbol 25 Taurus, A Large Well Kept Public Park - which likes things orderly, at least in public -  and Neptune on the Sabian symbol 25 degrees Pisces, The purging of the priesthood. Sincerity triumphs over all; use this conjunction to work towards something that's really meaningful to you. [9:40] It's the Mooooooooon report! The Aquarius Full Moon on (what else?) August 11th brings revelations related to three different lunar cycles - including that Feb. 2021 Aquarius New Moon with six planets in the sign of the waterbearer! The Full Moon's Sabian symbol speaks of peace, but it won't come without an effort: both the Sun and Moon are in aspect to Saturn. [19:03] The Sun opposes Saturn on August 14th, marking the halfway point in this year's Sun/Saturn cycle. From here, you can see how far you've come in taking responsibility for your life, and how far there is yet to go.
