He is best known as one third of the comedy trio, THE LONELY ISLAND with Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer. They have worked with some of the biggest names in music including, Justin Timberlake, Rhianna, Natalie Portman, Nicki Minaj, Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams, Michael Bolton, Akon, and Kendrick Lamar to name a few. Jorma has also been involved with (either directed, written, acted or produced) Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, The Lego Movie, Hot Rod, Saturday Night Live, MacGruber, The land of the Lost, An American Pickle, Parks and Recreation, Grown Ups 2, PEN15, Girls, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Palm Springs, The League, The Last O.G. This week we are taking a look at the horror flick 'Drag me to Hell', the new Will Ferrell movie, 'Land of the Lost' and 'The Brothers Bloom' directed by Rian Johnson. 'Drag Me to Hell' tells the story of Christine Brown (Alison Lohman), an ambitious L.A. loan officer with a charming boyfriend, Professor Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) enters their lives…and everything begins to unravel. When her loan is denied and she loses her house, the shamed Mrs. Ganush places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Christine is tortured and desperate to have her old life back, so she sets on a quest to reverse the spell. But as evil forces close in and threaten to drag her deep into hell, Christine must face the unthinkable: how far will she go to break free of the curse? On his latest expedition, Dr. Rick Marshall (Ferrell) is sucked into a space-time vortex alongside his research assistant (Friel) and a redneck survivalist (McBride). In this alternate universe, the trio make friends with a primate named Chaka (Taccone), their only ally in a world full of dinosaurs and other fantastic creatures. Can they all make it back to our world alive, and if so: Will Dr. Marshall can go from zero to hero with his discoveries? The Brothers Bloom, a globe-trotting comedy about the last great adventure of the world's two best con men. Welcome to the world of The Brothers Bloom, where deception is an art and nothing is as it seems. The brothers have perfected their craft through years of fraternal teamwork. Now they've decided to take on one last spectacular job--luring a beautiful and eccentric heiress into an elaborate plot that takes them around the world. For as long as they can remember, the Brothers Bloom have had only each other to depend on. From their childhood in a long series of gloomy foster homes to their highflying lives as international con artists, Stephen (Mark Ruffalo) and Bloom (Adrien Brody) have shared everything. Stephen brilliantly concocts intricate stories that the brothers live out, but he's still searching for the perfect con, the one where "everyone gets what they want." Meanwhile, Bloom yearns for "an unwritten life"--a real adventure, one not dreamed up by his older brother.

The Lonely Island -- the comedy collective featuring Saturday Night Live star Andy Samberg and SNL writers Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer -- recently released an album featuring a mix of past SNL Digital Shorts and a host of new songs (many with guest vocals from stars like Jack Black and Norah Jones). That album, Incredibad, surprised many by debuting at #13 on the Billboard charts a few weeks back. After interviewing Samberg in 2007 and Taccone (and Lonely Island collaborator Chester Tam) in early 2008, Paul Little finally had the chance to talk to all three of them at once. In their chat, the "Dudes" explain their thoughts on the album's early success, what classic Lonely Island track everyone should check out, and other upcoming projects.

Chances are, if you're reading this, then you know who Andy Samberg is, or at least recognize him. One of the hottest young talents in the current crop of Saturday Night Live cast members, Andy is best known to many for his starring role alongside Chris Parnell in the "Lazy Sunday" video, a digital short that aired on SNL and then became an overnight internet sensation and one of the first viral videos, which was followed the next year with the now Emmy-nominated Justin Timberlake duet, "Dick in a Box". However, before SNL, Andy was part of The Lonely Island comedy troupe, whose other two members Jorma Taccone and Akiva Shaffer also work at the NBC saturday night staple as writers. Now Andy, like so many SNL'ers before him, is making the jump to the big screen in the upcoming comedy Hot Rod, co-starring Taccone and directed by Shaffer, and as such was making the publicity rounds in support of it. Our own Mark McLeod in Vancouver and Paul Little in Winnipeg joined Andy on the phone from Toronto, where he was doing press for the movie. Seeing as how this was our first-ever audio interview (technically posted before this podcast existed), the quality isn't great, but hopefully you can enjoy it all the same!
