Dopo gli studi a Locarno, Zurigo e Pavia e dei soggiorni di studio a Ginevra, Malaga e Siena, è stato per quarant'anni docente di italiano e francese in diversi ordini di scuola. Ha collaborato con riviste ticinesi e internazionali. È stato poeta in dialetto e in lingua e prosatore; ha scritto per il teatro ed è stato anche è attore radiofonico, partecipando a diverse trasmissioni e ad approfondimenti della nostra Radio. Alcuni suoi testi sono stati musicati. Nel 1986 ha ottenuto il Premio Schiller per la raccolta Ra schérpa fòra di scaff e nel 2003 il Premio Insubria per la satira Maledictus structus ventris tui!

Der große Vorteil von Editionen: Vor allem für junge Sammlerinnen und Sammler oder Menschen, die gerade erst anfangen, sich mit Kunst zu umgeben, bieten Editionen einen leichten Zugang zur Welt des Sammelns – und sie tragen ganz nebenbei zur Demokratisierung des Kunstmarkts bei. Die gebürtige Bayerin Anna Ebner-Quadri hat diesen Gedanken 2019 zum Anlass genommen, um „and the editions“ zu gründen – eine Plattform, über die sie limitierte Editionen und Multiples von Künstler*innen wie Jonathan Monk oder Barbara Kapusta einem breiteren Publikum näherbringt. Quadri-Felitti's industry experience includes working for STR, Horwath Landauer Real Estate Advisors, Loews Hotels, Aramark, and benchmarking startup HotelRevMAX.  As the first faculty president of HSMAI GNY Chapter, she spearheaded the inaugural Special Interest Group and Award in Revenue Management. Quadri-Felitti's research involves improving consumer and other stakeholder experiences thought the tourism supply chain from destinations such as wine regions to boutique hotels. Recognized as a HSMAI Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in 2012 and one of “10 to Watch in 2016” by Hotel Business, she was awarded the Stevenson W. Next stop in Chicagoland takes us to Skokie where Parvez and Omar had the honor of sitting with author, educator and school administrator, Habeeb Quadri. We had an in-depth conversation about his experiences growing up in Chicago, what inspired him to become an educator, and his journey from teaching inner city schools in Detroit and Chicago to serving as Principal and Superintendent of a renowned Islamic school. It was also a great opportunity for Parvez and Habeeb, who have known each other for over 30 years to reconnect, reminisce about cutting their teeth as youth activist in the 90s with Muslim Youth of North America (MYNA) and the organization's resurgence in recent years.      About Habeeb Quadri Habeeb Quadri has served as principal of the Muslim Community Center Academy (MCCA) since 2002, where he has focused on changing school culture, financial turnaround, and transforming educational standards. He led MCCA to become one of the first Islamic parochial schools to receive national accreditation by implementing a comprehensive improvement plan that engaged stakeholders at all levels. Habeeb is on the principal advisory board and a part-time staffer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education's Principal Center and the founder of High Quality Educational Consulting. He was one of five private school leaders to be selected for the 2019 class of nationally distinguished principals by the National Association of Elementary School Principals. He has lectured throughout the United States, Canada and abroad on Islam, society, and social problems confronting Muslim youth and the community at large, including workshops for the U.S Department of State, weekend and full-time Islamic schools, public schools and universities.  Habeeb holds an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Wayne State University and a B.A. in the Teaching of History at the University of Illinois at Chicago and has pursued continued advanced studies with Harvard University's Professional Development Program.

Habeeb Quadri is the superintendent of MCCA (Muslim Community Center Academy) schools, one of the largest and long-standing Islamic schools in the country. He also serves as part-time staff at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In this episode, we discuss how he got into his field, issues surrounding modern-day education, how Islamic schools can keep leveling up, a father's role in their children's education, the legacy his father has built in Chicago, and how Habeeb came to terms with his own mortality as a result of his cancer diagnosis a few years ago.

In this episode, host Dr. Michael Barraza interviews Dr. Rehan Quadri, interventional radiologist, about the definition, indications and techniques for treating clot in transit.  We begin by defining and describing when to treat clot in transit. Traditionally, the definition is the washing machine mobile clot in the right atrium (RA) or right ventricle (RV). In these situations, the next place for the clot to travel is the pulmonary artery (PA). Mortality in these cases can reach as high as 30%, which is why these cases are considered emergencies. There is another category of clot in transit where a clot is partially adhered to a vessel wall, catheter, or heart valve. They are most commonly diagnosed via an echocardiogram, or found incidentally on a CT angiogram. They commonly present as catheter malfunction with symptoms resembling SVC syndrome. Dr. Quadri explains his usual method for retrieving clot in transit, though he notes each case is complex and different depending on the etiology and the overall status of the patient. In general, unless there is a massive PE, he treats the clot in transit before the PE. He always ensures with the preoperative echocardiogram that there is no interatrial shunt or patent foramen ovale (PFO). At the beginning of the case he checks PA and RA pressures.  He uses a 24 French Inari Flowtriever with FLEX technology, which helps with tough angles. He uses ICE guidance in all clot in transit cases. To help with orientation when using the ICE catheter, he recommends pointing it anteriorly while entering the RA, then using the Eustachian ridge, an echogenic line in the RA, to confirm you are in the RA and indicating that you should see the tricuspid valve as you advance. He uses the FlowSaver device, and always has 2 units of blood in the room just in case. At the end of the case, he remeasures the PA pressures, then injects through the Inari sheath to verify that there is no residual before finally doing a pulmonary arteriogram. He sends all the clots to pathology, and has seen that the morphology is usually mixed, with some organized fibrin in addition to acute thrombus.
