Have you heard these myths about personal growth and forgiveness? Myth #1: Forgiveness is a sign of weakness. Myth #2: Forgiveness means forgetting the past. Myth #3: Forgiving means letting the other person off the hook. But the truth about forgiveness is powerful and transformative. Want to know the truth? Then you won't want to miss this episode.   My special guest is Amy Lacey! Meet Amy Lacey, the visionary behind Cali'flour Foods and a remarkable example of turning adversity into triumph. Amy's battle with health challenges, including lupus and Sjogren's, inspired her to create the first cauliflower pizza crust, defying industry norms and transforming the health food landscape. She went on to create Soursop Nutrition. A supplement line featuring the "superfood with super powers, Soursop." Her journey embodies the profound impact of forgiveness and personal growth, showcasing the resilience that comes from embracing forgiveness. Amy's story not only reflects her unwavering determination but also offers invaluable insights into the transformative power of forgiveness. Her experiences and wisdom are sure to resonate deeply with those seeking emotional freedom and personal growth.    In this episode of Kathryn for Real, Amy shares her journey as it serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us of the incredible strength that emerges from forgiveness and resilience. Go to Soursopnutrition.com and enter KATHRYNFORREAL20 for 20% off About Amy: Amy Lacey is a serial entrepreneur, innovator, best-selling author, keynote speaker and business mentor. In 2016, after being diagnosed with Lupus, Amy launched Cali'flour Foods and introduced the first cauliflower pizza crust to the market when only a head of cauliflower could be found in grocery stores. The brand took the food industry by storm, going from farmers markets to grocery stores across America, and spearheading what would become a billion dollar industry category. Cali'flour was the number 1 pizza crust sold on Amazon for 16 months straight from 2018-2019. The product won several awards including KeHE Best New Product in 2018 and was featured in Food and Beverage Magazine, OK! Magazine, GQ, Good Housekeeping, as well as one of “Whoopi's Favorite Things” on The View. The products were also seen at the ESPY, Teen Choice, the Emmys, NY Food Show, as well as many other traditional food shows. Amy sold the majority of Cali'Flour in late 2019 and became one of the top 1% of women business owners to exit a company with an 8 figure deal. Amy is now trailblazing the path towards a brand new innovative health and wellness product with her new company, Beyond Medicine, founded in 2023. This new company is on a mission to highlight one of the world's greatest superfoods that most people don't even know exists yet. She is introducing a new category of superfood to the market and paving the way for a new era of self-care and wellbeing that prioritizes the body's natural ability to be and stay healthy while enhancing the immune system's armor against disease and illness. Up next alongside Beyond Medicine, Amy continues to collect her vast knowledge and experience in entrepreneurship into courses and programmes that make e-commerce easy for entrepreneurs. Her philanthropic mission includes supporting women founders, and she continues to be incredibly passionate about being involved in non-profit organizations that support children with cancer and fighting against the sex trade. When she's not innovating the next industry shaking product, you'll find Amy at her home in Melbourne, Florida with her husband, her 3 children and their new puppy.

“God, the first statement [of the episode] irritated me” says Kelly as she straps in for "The Mother of All Specials", Dance Mom's own Mother's Day celebration. For a show with plenty of moms you'd imagine the producers could focus in on pretty much any one of them, and yet this is an Abby centric episode. As Abby says, "Whom knows more about being a mother than Abby Lee Miller?" As these Bitches would like to point out, Abby does not have kids! But Abby does have her own mother, Maryen Lorrain Miller, whom she heads out to visit as clips about motherhood from previous seasons play out with new Abby "insights".We would sincerely like to know how much Abby was paid to say nice things, as she laboriously details how caring of a pseudo-mother she has been to the girls of the ALDC. She reframes past events where she was paid to be nice as signs of her benevolence, yet still manages too sprinkle a few insults towards Brooke in there.Quotes“This teacher walked by because we have a director's lounge…and she had a coffee cup. She walked by and I'm like, “I'm so glad you went to the director's lounge!” and she looked at me and was like,”You know this isn't coffee right?” Nobody ever has coffee in those. Fuck no! Not at 2 o'clock at a dance competition are you kidding?" (06:42-07:04 | Christi & Kelly)“They show Melissa pushing Abby in the pool, which I think is the best moment in my life. But did you notice that Melissa is the one they told to push her in the pool, because if I had pushed her into the pool she'd have probably killed me!” (18:07-18:20 | Kelly)“[Abby] says in her interview, “My mother showered her students with love and kindness. She's a very giving woman and I think I picked up a few of those qualities to!” HA HA! Then they go to the one/only moment Abby ever did anything nice with our kids. And she did not set that up! She didn't have anything to do with it other than getting paid.” (43:10-43:29 | Christi & Kelly)“I never wanted her to look back and be like, “Oh I didn't get to go to my 8th grade farewell because you made me work!” Right. And you did do a good job of making sure they did that but it's funny because it's like: Well, she might have not gone to her 8th grade farewell, but she went to Teen Choice, you know!” (51:44-52:04 | Christi & Kelly)LinksSubscribe to us on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC50aSBAYXH_9yU2YkKyXZ0w Subscribe to our Patreon: www.patreon.com/backtothebarreThank you to Ashley Jana for allowing us to use Electricity!! Voice over tells us it's her first day of school, that she had been home schooled in Africa. She goes into a class and after a few funny interactions, and she ends up bumping in to Tina Feys, Ms. Norbury. Tim Meadows Mr. Duvall then comes in to introduce Kady, and low key hits on Ms. Norbury. At lunch, she's shown eating in the bathroom. The next day she sits with Janice and Damian. The skip class and we're introduced to the Plastics, Karen, Gretchen, and Regina George, evil incarnate. A montage of people talking about Regina. Cady is given a map to survive school, with a lunch room map to help her navigate. Regina saves Cady from a guy hitting on her, and invites her to sit with the plastics for the rest of the week. She's convinced to do it, and finds her crush in math class. At lunch the next day, she begins to learn the plastic rules. She divulges the crush was Aaron Samuels, Reginas ex. She's approached to join the Matheletes, and she goes shopping with the plastics. They see Jason, Gretchen's crush, with another girl and Regina calls her mom acting like she's planned parenthood. It was Fetch.-S:-2004 Lindsay Lohan was 18-Do you wonder if Rachel McAdams hates that she took this role? She was 26 when she shot this movie.-In reference to the lunch map, do you think it could be made today? Asian nerds, unfriendly black hotties, etc?The girls go to Reginas house and we meet her little sister and mom, who has an obvious boob job, and asserts there are no rules, because she's a "cool mom." In Reginas room, which was her parents room, she finds the Burn Book and accidentally has a comment about Damian added. Janis tries to convince Cady to steal it, which she refuses, and hey have an awkward encounter with Ms. Norbury. Cady is then caught in a phone attack with Regina. She starts to talk to Aaron more and is invited to a halloween party. She doesn't know about the 'slut rule' and shows up as a scary bride. Regina falsely tells Aaron some lies about Cady, simultaneously stealing him. Cady admits to hating Regina and goes to Janice and Damian, they hatch plan to take her down. Cady begins to attempt to sabotage Regina, peppermint foot cream for her face, holes cut in her shirt, and they backfire. Regina tells Cady her history with Janice. She leverages Gretchen for info. Then the talent show. Damian sings, Kevin raps, and Cady and the plastics perform to Jingle Bell Rock. Gretchen thinks Regina is mad at her, and she finally cracks. trap but she-S:-it is surprising how fucking mean these girls are... Watching it objectively and as a parent.-The whole slut halloween thing... I don't care what grade my child is in, she's not going out dressed like that while she still lives at home. What I can't see, i can't stop.-Think girls are really this underhanded?Cady, Janice and Damian begin to try to get Aaron to catch Regina cheating on him. Cady gives some exposition on being in the plastics vs not. She intentionally dives in math to get Aaron to tutor her, and they kiss, and Cady tells him Regina is cheating on him, and Aaron breaks up with Regina. The plan then moves on to break up the "Army of Skanks." Regina tries a dress on and she can't fit into it, and the "hot body" is gone. Ms. Norbury tells Cady she's failing math, which riles her and she rants into the burn book. Cady three way ambushes Regina, which devolves into 4 panel call back and forth, where Gretchen tells Karen the Regina says people don't like her because she's a "slut," when Karen tells Regina she doesn't want to hang out, she's told: "Boo you whore." and is hung up on. At lunch the next day, Regina is told she can't sit with them because she's wearing sweat pants, which she admits is the only thing that fits. She leaves, bumps into a large girl, and is called a fat ass. Army of Skanks is crossed off. Cady has become the queen bee, and convinces her parents to leave her for a night and she decides to throw a small get together, which isn't small. Aaron arrives and they can't find each other, then Regina arrives. Aaron and Cady talk in her room, she admits to being good and math, is caught by Regina and vomits on Aaron, who calls her a Regina clone. As he leaves, she's then caught by Damian and Janice for not coming to her art show and they have it out, and calls her a mean girl and a bitch, and she knows she's right.S:-I swear, if I ever hear of my kid intentionally doing badly to spend time with a boy... ugh.-I hate to use this term, but I hate how toxic these kids are.Regina realizes the bars she's been eating are weight gaining and loses her mind. She adds herself to the burn book and turns it into Mr. Duvall. As he's talking to the girls, Regina is shown to be dropping copies of the burn book all through the school. As class lets out, all the girls start fighting, and Regina watches the frey. The girls have gone wild. Mr. Duvall pulls the fire alarm and all the girls are told to meet in the gym. For an attitude re-adjustment. Mr. Duvall doesn't do well, and Ms. Norbury shoots her shot and has the cliques directly address their issues. Regina asserts she's a victim and when asked if anyone feels personally victimized by Regina, everyone raises their hands, including the teachers and mr. Duvall. Ms. Norbury gives Cady a chance to own up, but she doesn't. Then everyone is supposed to write apologies and trust fall. Janice reveals the whole plan to take Regina down, she storms out of the gym with Cady following. Cady tries to explain herself, but Regina isn't hearing any of it, and as she's telling her off and telling her to shove it up her... She's hit by a bus. Cady is shown at home, and how divided she has become from her parents, and she is grounded.S:-Popping the fire alarm doesn't make the sprinklers go off, only heat. The next day, no one will speak to her, Janice and Damian moved her seat, she eats lunch in the bathroom, in math class, Ms. Norbury is being investigated for selling drugs. Cady admits to writing about Ms. Norbury in the burn book. She started apologizing, with Regina, Ms. Norbury who gives her a lot of crap, apologizes and is forgiven. There is a montage of everyone getting ready for the spring fling, and Cady is shown wearing a mathletes shirt. She is participating in a mathlete competition, while the spring dance is occuring. The competition is tied, and each team chooses the girls. As she judges her, she realizes that doesn't mean she still can't lose... She gets the answer correct and they win. Cady goes to the dance, and wins the queen title. She gives a speech, brakes the crown in pieces, and gives them out to everyone. She, Damian and Janis make up. She and Aaron make up and kiss, Ms. Norbury and Mr. Duvall are shown dancing. Reginas spine healed, and she channeled her rage into sports, because those girls weren't afraid of her, Karen used her special talent for the morning weather report, Gretchen found a new clique, Aaron went to Northwestern and they still saw each other. Girl world was at peace and if any freshmen plastics tried to change that... well, they wouldn't get hit with a bus.S:-I like the feel good ending. Getting hit by a bus would probably make you re-think some life choices... BUT, everyone getting along like that? It's totally unrealistic. There will always be cliques, groups, people who embrace and reject that also; as well as people who think they're better than everyone else... But I like the idea of being able to change, grow, and learn also. Webpage: https://theguysreview.simplecast.com/EM: theguysreviewpod@gmail.comIG: @TheGuysReviewPodTwitter: @The_GuysReviewFB: https://facebook.com/TheGuysReviewPod/

New "Kahnversations" Podcast with Actor  Matt Czuchry! Matt Czuchry graduated from College of Charleston with Summa Cum Laude honors, and B.A degrees in the disciplines of both History and Political Science.  In his senior year at the College, Matt was presented with The Bishop Robert Smith Award.  This award is the highest honor given to a graduating senior and represents valued contributions in academics, sports, and leadership within the Charleston community. Throughout his acting career from 1999-present, Matt has worked alongside Oscar winners, Tony winners, and Emmy winners.  And during that time, Czuchry has found a way to make his own mark on the arts. For his work on The Resident, Czuchry was honored in 2020 with the Entertainment Weekly/SCAD Maverick Award. The Resident has also been nominated for two Teen Choice Awards, and Matt has been nominated for three Teen Choice awards for his work as Logan Huntzberger in the series Gilmore Girls.  For his work on The Good Wife (where ironically Matt played a lawyer with exceptional Law School Admission Test scores) he was nominated for three consecutive Screen Actors Guild Ensemble Awards in 2011, 2012, 2013, he won the Entertainment Weekly Best Supporting Actor Award in 2011, and Czuchry was also selected to both The Hollywood Reporter and Variety Magazine’s prestigious Emmy Contenders list for 2015.  Czuchry’s Charleston education came to a pinnacle in 2018 when he gave the commencement address to that year's College of Charleston graduating class.  His commencement address was noted in Teen Vogue as one of the standout speeches of 2018 along with Oprah Winfrey and Apple CEO Tim Cook.  That same year the College of Charleston recognized Matt with an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters.  This humbling honor completed Matt’s journey from college graduate with crap LSAT scores and an unclear path forward, to an established actor contributing on the highest level to the arts. She plays Deja, a young girl who got caught up in the foster system due to a well meaning but none the less negligent mother (played by yours truly) and ends up in the care of Randall Pearson and his amazing family. Lyric’s performance has garnered her a Teen Choice award and most recently a Screen actors guild award nomination  for outstanding performance by an ensemble. Kahnversations Podcast

New Podcast with Actor Matt Czuchry!   In this episode of "Kahnversations," we interview Matt Czuchry. After graduating college in May of 1999 with B.A. degrees in History and Political Science from College of Charleston, Matt was set on law school as his next life path.  But when thinking of his true passion, he was brought back to the indelible memories of his childhood.  Moments etched on his heart such as exiting a dilapidated movie theatre crying inconsolably after experiencing E.T.: THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL, or running around in his purple dyed underwear smashing couches while watching THE INCREDIBLE HULK on TV.  When thinking of his adult life, Czuchry could not ignore the magical moments captured through story, imagination, and character that had impacted his youth with such pure happiness. This childlike love of movies and television, combined with his horrible Law School Admission Test scores, pushed Matt’s gut towards an unexpected career choice.  In September of 1999, Czuchry took one of the most important risks of his life and decided to pursue a profession in acting.  On a perfectly nondescript Wednesday morning, Matt filled his car with everything he owned and left his hometown in Tennessee for a new life in California.  Since completing that life changing drive from Johnson City to Los Angeles, Czuchry has worked with Oscar® winners, Emmy® winners, and Tony Award® winners, while establishing himself as a leading man through credits spanning theatre, television, and film. Just one month after arriving on the West Coast, Matt found himself working with actor James Franco and writers Paul Feig, Mike White, and Judd Apatow in a small role on the critical darling FREAKS AND GEEKS.  Czuchry’s work on the classic fan favorite would turn into a major guest starring arc in the DAWSON'S CREEK spinoff series titled YOUNG AMERICANS, starring actress Kate Bosworth.  Although this show itself was short lived, Matt’s work on the project would garner the necessary attention to further his early career with the best creative minds in the business on television shows such as David E. Kelley’s THE PRACTICE and films like EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS, starring Scarlett Johansson. Two key television series, HACK and GILMORE GIRLS, would propel Czuchry’s early career towards leading man status.  While playing swindling thief Jamie Farrel on the series HACK from 2003-2004, Matt was able to hone his craft by learning from the show’s stars, Drama Desk Award winner David Morse and Emmy® winner Andre Braugher.  His work on HACK readied Czuchry for his breakout performance on the critically acclaimed hit GILMORE GIRLS.  From 2005-2007 Matt embodied the role of billionaire newspaper heir Logan Huntzberger.  For his work on the beloved series, Czuchry would go on to be nominated for three Teen Choice awards while gaining press in countless magazines and popularity on television sets across the globe. After completing his three year run on GILMORE GIRLS in 2007, Czuchry matured in his craft by choosing work in different genres spanning theatre, television, and film.  In September of 2007, Czuchry was on stage in the title role of Third, alongside Oscar® winner Christine Lahti, in Wendy Wasserstein’s West Coast premier of the play by the same name.  He followed this performance at the Geffen Theatre with a recurring arc on the Emmy® winning series FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS.  In 2008, Matt took on the controversial lead character of Tucker Max in the movie adaptation of the New York Times best selling book, I HOPE THEY SERVE BEER IN HELL.  Although the public’s response to the comedy was divisive, Czuchry’s performance was lauded by critics such as Owen Gleiberman in Entertainment Weekly who wrote, “Matt Czuchry, in a star performance, plays Tucker like a Ferris Bueller who bloomed into a charming sociopath.” Czuchry’s varied performances and choices across all genres in different mediums from 2007-2008 led to an offer to play the role of a manipulative lawyer in the two-time Emmy® nominated THE GOOD WIFE. Matt's seven seasons as Cary Agos on CBS Television’s THE GOOD WIFE (2009-2016) firmly established him as a leading man and a rising star while also earning him prestigious recognition from both The Hollywood Reporter and Variety’s annual Emmy® Contenders lists in 2015. Prior to these honors Czuchry won the Entertainment Weekly Best Supporting Actor EWwy Award (2011), received nominations for three consecutive SAG Ensemble Awards (2009-2011), and also garnered the highest praises from numerous critics such as David Hiltbrand of The Philadelphia Inquirer who wrote “Czuchry may be the best young actor on TV.”  Matt Richenthal of TV Fanatic further affirmed those sentiments by stating, “Cary is played brilliantly by Czuchry with the right combination of swagger, confidence, and vulnerability.”  Matt’s tireless dedication to his craft on THE GOOD WIFE, and over the course of his career, led to a defining performance on one of TV’s best shows while working alongside multiple-award winners Archie Panjabi, Christine Baranski, Julianna Margulies, Chis Noth, Josh Charles, Alan Cumming, Michael J. Fox, Matthew Perry, and F. Murray Abraham. In 1999, Matt Czuchry took a life changing risk by following his passion and gut to pursue his love of story, imagination, and character.  Today, Czuchry surrounds himself with the great talents of stage, television, and film on some of the most desirable projects in the entertainment industry, in an effort to make his own indelible mark on the hearts of others.  As Matt continues to tirelessly study his craft, he sets his sights on even greater career heights.  Knowing that his past work has laid the groundwork for future success, but each new performance and project choice demands an even better excellence.
