The Immigrant Finance Podcast is a truly impactful and inspiring podcast that addresses the struggles and challenges faced by immigrants in their pursuit of financial stability and success. Each episode offers valuable insights, practical advice, and inspiring stories to empower listeners to take control of their financial futures. The podcast takes a refreshing approach by discussing topics such as social justice advocacy, entrepreneurship, and building wealth while making a positive impact on society.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the candid and relatable nature of the conversations. Adina shares her own personal experiences and invites guests who bring diverse perspectives to discuss their own journeys. This authenticity creates a sense of connection and trust with the audience, making the information shared feel more relevant and applicable to their own lives. The podcast also provides actionable steps and resources for listeners to implement in their own financial journeys.

Another great aspect of this podcast is its focus on immigrant finance specifically. It recognizes the unique challenges faced by immigrants when it comes to building wealth and provides tailored advice to address these challenges. The guests share their experiences navigating the complexities of immigration, cultural differences, language barriers, and discrimination in relation to finances. This provides immense value for immigrant listeners who may have felt overlooked or unsupported in traditional financial education spaces.

In terms of drawbacks, one possible criticism could be that some episodes may not cover topics that are directly relevant to all listeners. However, given the vast range of experiences within immigrant communities, it is understandable that not every episode will resonate with every listener. Additionally, some listeners may find certain episodes repetitive if they have already gained a strong foundational knowledge in personal finance.

In conclusion, The Immigrant Finance Podcast is an incredibly valuable resource for anyone navigating the complex world of personal finance as an immigrant or child of immigrants. It offers real-life examples, expert advice, and empowering stories that encourage listeners to overcome obstacles and achieve financial success while making a positive impact on society. Adina's dedication to supporting and uplifting the immigrant community shines through in every episode, making this podcast a must-listen for those seeking financial guidance and inspiration.

    204. Why resistance is GOLD in finance and business

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 9, 2024 17:09

Resistance is one of the BEST indicators of where we need to grow. With finances and business, it's completely normal to feel resistance. It comes in different forms for each of us — whether it be avoidance, being a busy fool overworking on unimportant things, procrastination, exhaustion, or getting caught up on minor tasks that simply don't move the needle. Most of us have been taught that when we have these negative-feeling symptoms of resistance, we should doubt ourselves, feel fear about the unknown, or shut down. But what the actual truth is that resistance is a gift. Because usually whatever is on the other side of that resistance — whatever outcome there would be if we were able to move through the resistance and go do the damn thing — is a MAJOR opportunity. The more the resistance, the bigger the opportunity. This is because our brains are designed to keep us safe. Our brains cannot distinguish things that push us outside of our comfort zone from actual danger. This is particularly true for things that will free us from the cage of societal barriers, generational patterns, and personal stories that keep us stuck from the abundance and financial freedom we each deserve. So the next time you feel massive resistance to something in your finances or business, welcome it with open arms. It's telling you where your next big opportunity lays. It's telling you what will actually move the needle! Few people in the world truly understand this truth. And even fewer take action to move through resistance intentionally so they can get to the gold on the other side. Learning how to quickly reframe negative thoughts, beliefs, patterns, and stories about money and business is critical so you can cross that bridge to financial empowerment and make the impact you're meant to make through your purpose. You don't have to go through this alone. For the visionaries with big dreams to change the world: Here's one of the top questions social entrepreneurs in the making have been asking me! Here's the thing. It doesn't have to be either/or. You can have a business with a positive social mission that changes lives. You can have a non-profit that is financially strong and profitable. You can have BOTH a LLC & non-profit that compliment each other to support your vision. Lasting, revolutionary, disruptive change increasingly requires getting SUPER creative about financial, business, and legal structure strategy. Especially in this day and age when we face massive challenges to individual's rights, opportunities, and freedoms. That's why social entrepreneurs with BIG visions DON'T allow themselves to be put in a box. Instead of being restricted by the limitations of existing paths and models for change, social entrepreneurs create NEW ONES. Feel like prioritizing your own financial situation would be at odds with your passion to serve others? What's causing that? Unfortunately, many of us have been taught that focusing on our own needs is selfish, in conflict with our values, and greedy. This is definitely something I've struggled with over the years having worked in the public interest/social justice space for about 15 years. Here's the thing. Even if you are able to do meaningful work serving others while struggling with finances yourself, your capacity to make the impact you could be making is more limited than it needs to be. Read that again.  But when you understand why it doesn't have to be either/or, you'll know how to reframe it when it comes up for you. In this episode, I'm going to show you how to start to move past the belief that you have to sacrifice yourself for good so you can move forward, find more financial peace of mind, and expand your impact. You'll also learn: *Why it's important to prioritize your finances so you can serve others *The continuum I use to think about finding abundance, as something that does not involve gluttony at the expense of others *What to do when you find yourself struggling financially *How to take action learning about finances (finally!) break free from getting in your own way of accessing financial security --> Listen to Ep. 168: Prioritizing Your Finances So You Can Serve Others if you're ready to stop keeping yourself stuck in scarcity beliefs at your own expense and be in a position to serve others with a greater impact.
