Most people think systems are about saving time. Sara Loretta sees them differently. For her, systems are how you create better experiences, stronger relationships, and more confidence as a business owner. In this conversation, Sara shares how she moved from operations and compliance work into helping creators and teams build smarter systems, stronger communities, and more meaningful in-person experiences. This episode is packed with practical examples. Sara walks through the CRM system she built to make networking follow-up actually useful, the client sign-off process that protects projects before they go off the rails, and the fake employee she created to automate admin work and help her step into a stronger CEO role. If you've ever felt like your business is growing faster than your systems, this conversation will give you a better way to think about what to build next. Systems are not about efficiency first Sara makes a powerful point early in the conversation. Systems are not just there to help you work less or automate more. They are there to help you create better human experiences. That shift matters. Instead of asking, “How do I save time?” she asks, “How do I free up more space to build better relationships?” It is a small reframing, but it changes everything from follow-up to client communication to event design. The networking follow-up system that actually keeps relationships alive Networking usually dies the moment people leave the room. The smartest part is what happens later. Why personality is a better business asset than most people think One of the strongest ideas in this episode is that people remember what makes you human. Not just what software you use. Not just what service you offer. Not just your job title. Sara believes that more people should build relationships around what genuinely lights them up. Coffee. Cooking. Books. Trivia. A strange obsession. A memorable hobby. Those details help people remember you. They also make follow-up easier, more natural, and more relational. For leaders trying to stand out, that is a useful reminder. Personality is not fluff. It is part of the system. The fake employee who helped her become a stronger CEO One of the most memorable parts of this episode is Sara's story about “Lizzie Benson,” the fake employee she created after chasing down an overdue invoice from her clients. What began as an email alias turned into a fully built administrative persona that handles onboarding, invoicing, calendar coordination, project setup, and other repeatable tasks through Zapier automations and AI-assisted workflows. Lizzie gave Sara more than operational support. She gave her confidence. By systematizing admin work behind a defined role, Sara was able to stop feeling like a solo freelancer doing everything manually and start operating like a true CEO. It is a smart example of how systems can reshape not only workflow, but identity. Better client feedback prevents bigger problems later Sara also shares one of the most practical systems in the episode: her client phase sign-off and “vibe check” process. At each milestone, clients review the work, approve it with a signed form, and rate how they feel about the project's progress. If they rate it low, the system immediately asks why and offers a link to book a call. That means concerns show up early, not months later when frustration has built up. It is a strong reminder that feedback systems do not need to be complicated. They just need to create the right moment for honesty. Why in-person connection still matters Sara's work with Unmute is rooted in a simple belief: people still need real connection. She is on a mission to help more people get off their computers, meet in person, and build communities that create momentum beyond the screen. Whether it is events, coworking, field trips, or retreats, she believes in designing experiences that make work feel more human again.

If you've ever felt yourself shrinking before hitting record, freezing before going live, or losing your voice in the moments that matter most, this interview with Kimberly LaForte is for you. She's a voice guide, visibility coach, motivational speaker, and founder of Vocal Honey — a methodology and movement for unmuted leadership. Kimberly blends over 20 years of psychology, neuroscience, Eastern philosophy, somatics, and vocal energetics to help women speakers, coaches, and entrepreneurs step into unshakable presence and sacred self-expression.In this conversation, Kimberly opens up about how a nine-year misaligned marriage left her voice smaller and smaller… until she was taking beta blockers just to go to dinner with friends. Leadership coach, somatic practitioner, and Café con Pam podcast host Pam Covarrubias joins The Power of the Ask to talk about what keeps high-achieving first-generation women stuck, silent, and overworked, and what it takes to break free. Pam introduces the concept of Calladita Culture, the inherited system of silence and submission that conditions women to stay small, underpay themselves, and perform for approval rather than lead from truth. She walks through her Unmute & Reclaim Method and explains why certainty, not confidence, is the real foundation of lasting change. Pam, Lisa, and Precious explore: Certainty Before Confidence: Confidence without roots won't hold. When you know who you are and what you want without needing external approval, confidence follows naturally. How Your Body Keeps Score: If you're getting sick after every work trip or only resting when forced, your body is sending a signal. Learning to listen is the first step toward change. The Five Wounds of Calladita Culture: Silence, worth, power, and the other wounds underneath this system show up as both over- and underperformance. Awareness is where healing starts. Why Woleness-Based Leadership Starts with Self-Knowledge: The best leaders don't borrow a style. They do the inner work to understand how they lead best, then build from that place. One Somatic Step You Can Take Today: Place your hand on your chest, slow your exhale, and ask your body what you're carrying that's stopping you from asking for what you want. She is also the creator of the Unmute & Reclaim™ Method and Calladita Culture® frameworks built for women who are tired of biting their tongues, betraying their bodies, and burning out just to belong. Through her coaching and consulting work, she has partnered with big brands and organizations, helping teams and individuals lead from wholeness instead of burnout. Through nervous system regulation, somatic healing, and cultural deconditioning, she helps women stop hustling for their worth and start leading from wholeness. And she has spent a decade using her podcast, Café con Pam, to elevate Latine voices and people of the Global Majority, dismantling the BS conditioning that keeps us playing small. Because before there's confidence… there's certainty. And Pam believes, certainty lives in the body.

The MFR Coach’s Podcast w/Heather Hammell, Life + Business Coach for Myofascial Release Therapists
I am collecting 2–3 minute audio recordings of your favorite memory with John, or a “Johnism” that stayed with you. These recordings will be edited together into a single podcast episode dedicated to John, so his impact can be remembered, honored, and shared in the voices of the people he influenced most. This is open to any therapist who wishes to participate, regardless of how long you knew John, or how closely you worked with him. There is no right story. If something meaningful comes to mind, it belongs here. The deadline to upload your audio recording to the Google Drive folder is December 23rd. Please record and upload it as soon as you can, so it does not get lost in the busyness of the next few days. Thank you for helping create something that reflects the depth, humanity, and legacy of John's work. Here are the very specific instructions on how to create the audio clip and get it turned in:Step 1. Record an audio only Zoom file Open Zoom on your computer. Click New Meeting. Once the meeting opens, turn your camera off. Click Mute, then immediately Unmute so Zoom is ready to record your voice. At the bottom of the Zoom window, click Record. If prompted, choose Record on this computer. Share your memory. Aim for 2–3 minutes. When finished, click Stop Recording. End the meeting. Zoom will automatically save the recording to your computer. This may take a minute. Please wait until Zoom finishes processing. Step 2. Find your Zoom audio file After Zoom finishes processing, a folder will open automatically. Inside that folder you will see: One video file One audio file (this usually ends in .m4a) You only need the audio file. If the folder does not open automatically: Open Documents Open the Zoom folder Open the most recent meeting folder Look for the .m4a file Step 3. Rename your audio file Before uploading, please rename the file using this format: YourName_JohnBarnesMemory Example:HeatherH_JohnBarnesMemory.m4a This helps us keep everything organized. Step 4. Upload your audio file to Google Drive Click the Google Drive link provided in the post below. Once the folder opens, click New or Upload. Choose File upload. Select your renamed .m4a audio file. Wait until the upload finishes. That is it. No additional sharing steps are needed. A few important notes Please record in a quiet space if possible. Speak naturally. This does not need to be polished or perfect. Audio only please. Do not upload video files. If you make a mistake, you can re-record before you upload the file. Don't over think it or over complicate it! Thank you for sharing your memory and honoring John in this way.Google Folder is here:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/11epsUoiqKS70MsYq7IzaBd6gPtGV2ANF?usp=sharing

With vulnerability and humor, we get to the real story behind their success and show you that you're not alone._____________________Find all our links to all the things like the socials, how to work with us and how to apply to be on the podcast here: https://linktr.ee/unforgetyourself
Have you ever felt the pull toward something bigger, but fear or uncertainty kept you standing still? In this episode, Nicole opens up about a powerful turning point in her journey — why she's closing the door on her long-running Authority Accelerator Masterclass and what it really means to release something successful to make space for the next evolution of your purpose. She shares how transformation rarely arrives with a perfect plan or clear answers, and why waiting for certainty often keeps us stuck. Through the lens of Human Design, Nicole reveals how to recognize when you're clinging to what's safe instead of trusting your inner call — and how answering that call can lead you to deeper alignment, creativity, and freedom. You'll hear reflections on courage, fear, and the illusion of "readiness," along with gentle reminders that your voice is needed now more than ever. Nicole's message is both a mirror and a spark — reminding you that the unmute button you've been searching for isn't outside of you; it's been within you all along. This episode is an invitation to stop waiting, release what's no longer aligned, and step boldly into your next chapter — even when you can't see the full picture yet. Listen now!

Dear Wonderful Readers,The following vignette is what we call a “raw write.” I wrote it in 40 minutes in my writing class called UnMute, led by my incredible writing teacher, ANN RANDOLPH. I've been attending Ann's classes for the last three and a half years, and working with her has been a huge part of my creative journey. She'll be starting up UnMute again in the fall for any of you who have a lot of stories bubbling away inside of you but are unsure of where to start. I highly recommend her class.Today's prompt was the poem “What The Living Do” by Marie Howe, and I took the question: “Write about something broken in your home—something small and stupid. Let the description grow. What bigger thing does it mirror or hold? What grief or yearning lives inside that broken faucet, that squeaky hinge?”Also, I've got an exciting and quick Misseducated update. Starting this week, I will be experimenting with posting my work on Tuesdays. I've tended to publish too late on Friday evening, and I hope that publishing earlier in the week will give me more opportunities to share my work on social while it's still fresh. Still, I am eternally grateful to all my regular Friday readers, and I will keep you in the loop as to how it goes! You can expect posts from me on Tuesday from now on.I hope you enjoy this piece and have a great weekend.Love,Tash

Hello Wonderful Readers,I'm writing to you from Santa Fe, New Mexico. (Well, actually, I got Covid, so I'm secretly finishing this a week later back in Mexico City. Please forgive me.) I've just finished a week on a remote ranch in The Land of Enchantment. In the desert, I went on lots of reflective walks, looked up at the sky, and cried into the mountains. Yes, it was very dramatic and revealing, and I'll share some of those lessons below. This retreat has helped me gain so much clarity. I got to work with the sensational brand strategist Robin Fisher Roffer, and I now have 20 new female friends ( and three male friends) about age 60.Despite my Covid fatigue, I'm revving like an engine to reveal all my exciting plans for Misseducated next year with you. If you've been reading this blog for a while, you know that I'm terrible at keeping secrets. I'll share what I have in store for Misseducated in the coming weeks (hint: more workshops!). Still, I have not forgotten my promise to tell you the story of how I met Todor or how he found me, but that will have to wait until the New Year. Next week, I'll be offline because Friday, January 3rd, is my 30th birthday. I have planned to spend it frolicking with friends in a place I like to call “the hippie Hamptons of Mexico City.” Before I head out, it's time to bask in the best of Misseducated in 2024.Here are the top 5 articles. Drum roll, please…Misseducated Top 5 Articles in 2024
