In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the Capitals most recent loss to the St Louis Blues in St Louis. This is quite an about face from the Capitals previous game against the Blues on Thursday evening where the Capitals defeated the Blues. The Blue s didn't allow for much opportunity to get the Capitals offense going. Evgeny Kuznetsov was demoted to the 4th line and Nic Dowd was promoted to the top line. Kuzy has struggles with consistency this entire season. Nic Dowd has been one of the bright sports for the Capitals. The Capitals sign Aliaksei Protas to a five-year extension with their eyes on the present and future as Protas has been a big contributor to the Capitals offense this season. IN the final segment Dan talks about Clay Stevenson and how he's ranked number one in all of the AHL in net. Clay Stevenson made 28 saves to earn his American Hockey League-leading sixth shutout of the season and set a club rookie record as the Hershey Bears (31-7-0-2) picked up a 1-0 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (20-14-5-0) in front of a crowd of 10,628 on Saturday night at GIANT Center. Stevenson's shutout moved him past Vitek Vanecek (2016-17) and Ron Hextall (1985-86) for sole possession of the franchise single-season record for shutouts by a rookie netminder.Join our LOCKED ON CAPS INSIDERS texting community and chat with host Dan Holmi any time by clicking this link: https://joinsubtext.com/lockedoncapitals Dan provides one on one's, breaking news, show previews, Caps breakdowns and the very latest from your 2018 Stanley Cup winning Washington Capitals. A convenient mini-meal, Daily Gut & Brain” is available now at the CVS Pharmacy in Wakefield. Now for some trivia. Did you know that Rhode Island native, John Clark Donatelli is a former professional ice hockey player and is the former head coach of the AHL's Wilkes-Barre /Scranton Penguins? Donatelli was a long-time minor league player in the American Hockey League and International Hockey League. He played 35 games in the NHL. Donatelli played for the American national team at several World Championships, and the 1988 and 1992 Winter Olympics. Now, we turn our feature story…. Westerly's planning staff is working with the Town Council to tackle initiatives included in the revised Comprehensive Plan. The new plan, which was adopted by the Town Council and approved by the state Division of Statewide Planning in May, sets out goals to reflect the development and preservation priorities. Reaching the goals requires input from the town's planning, zoning and other boards as well as the approval of the Town Council. Todd Romano, the lawyer who represents the Zoning Board of Review, presented a schedule etched out by the Department of Development Services for getting proposals related to the priorities before the Town Council during the next 18 months. Council President Sharon Ahern invited Romano to make the presentation. Ahern said: "I wanted the council to see it and the public to be aware that we are working on it, so that they see that it is in the works and that there is a path forward,"  Romano said: "It it is an aggressive schedule but we all believe this council all has the experience and knowledge.”. There are five priorities: revisions to the aquifer protection overlay regulations; creation of a river overlay protection area; redevelopment of the downtown; a Route 1 study; the creation of a floodplain and special area management plan. The proposed aquifer protection zone and regulation changes are expected to be submitted to the Town Council for its Oct. 25 meeting reflecting changes in how the Department of Environmental Management monitors and manages groundwater.
