Formed in the early '90s California Punk Scene, Rage Against the Machine would become one of the most successful and politically charged Metal and Hard Rock acts of all time. Inspired equally by Hip Hop like Public Enemy and the extreme guitars of Black Sabbath, the band fronted by Zach De La Rocha and fed by guitarist Tom Morello's riffs would create anthems for the angst of the decade like "Killing in the Name" and "Testify." Their live shows at festivals like Lollapalooza and Woodstock '99 would cement their iconic statues as well as back to back no.1 albums. The band would go on to inspire their compatriots for the decade like Tool and Soundgarden and even go on to revitalize the politics of iconic artists like Bruce Springsteen. The are also cited by a number of modern acts like Alabama Shakes and alternative hip hop like Run the Jewels.

Mic check, one two, one two. Yeah, we're coming back with another bomb cast this week with Rage Against the Machine's self-titled 1992 classic. This band was a pretty big part of our early formative years, as evidenced by our vivid memories of rocking out with broom handle guitars, air drums, and screaming the lyrics of "Bullet In the Head" maybe a little too loudly—at least for Joe's dad. Join us as we talk about their influence on music and politics, seeing them perform live, and debate whether Tom Morello should've shredded a whole lot more.Note: We will be taking a short break for a few weeks to plan our next season of episodes. We'll see you all again soon with a brand new season.Be sure to support the artists by purchasing "Rage Against the Machine" on iTunes or wherever you get your music.

We really hit the ground running this week! Even before we started recording, this one went in some interesting places. Get ready for some laughs. Having been in 30+ bands, and recorded at least twice that many, Andy Patterson has seen some stuff and he has stories for days. From receiving a death threat recently to a seemingly empty tent at Hellfest. And from recording Zach De La Rocha voiceovers in his LA apartment for a RATM DVD release to the corduroy hats his mom made for his entire first band, AP shares some good ones. Souvenirs. Titres écoutés dans l'émission : “Bombtrack”, “Killing in the Name”, “Take the Power Back”, “Settle for Nothing”, “Bullet in the Head”, “Know Your Enemy”, “Wake Up”, “Fistfull of Steel”, “Township Rebellion”, “Freedom”, “Bombtrack (démo)”. Lock up “24 hour man”. Chaque mois dans Radio K7 on vous raconte l'histoire d'un disque culte qui a marqué nos années 90s. The return!.... Again! This one has a loooong intro. Long. Sixteen minutes to be precise, including the song. A note on the intro song; it's from the recently released RTJ3 by the mighty-mighty Run The Jewels and features Zach De La Rocha and it's awesome. I can't remember if I dreamt this, or it's actually a legitimate rumour, but I've heard somewhere that there's a Zach De La Rocha solo album in the works with production handled entirely by El-P. I hope this is true, but there's been infinite talk of a De La Rocha solo album over the years with only One Day As a Lion the only thing to closely resemble that. That all being said, if you haven't heard any Run the Jewels, and this intro is your first exposure, then head over to https://runthejewels.com/music/ and cop all their shit for free. If you want to pay you can do that too.  So on this episode, Louise joins me just after we watched the Robert De Niro/Anne Hathaway starring vehicle, The Intern. Spoiler alert: I loved it. I'm a simple man it seems. We also reflected on 2016, discussed observing how different children do things in different ways and different timelines, and a whole lot of other tangents and non sequitur's.  News: The Illawarra Music and Record Fair is returning in 2017! This time at City Diggers in Wollongong on Sunday May 7th. Head over to The Crate Diggers Collective's Facebook page for more info.
