AP correspondent Ben Thomas reports the House has rejected a bill requiring aircraft locator systems intended to prevent midair collisions.

SailGP has released its initial findings from its investigation into the high-speed collision between the Black Foils and Team France boats at this month's regatta in Auckland. Two sailors were hospitalised after the French and Kiwi boats collided at speeds approaching 90 kilometres an hour on day one of the SailGP event. The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), the largest particle collider in the United States, collided its last particles in early February. RHIC is a massive accelerator ring and set of instruments based at New York's Brookhaven National Laboratory, and was designed to accelerate gold ions to near-light speed before collision. It was the second most powerful accelerator on the planet, second only to CERN's Large Hadron Collider. The massive layoffs at Jeff Bezos's Washington Post involve more than just the financial situation at the paper. The Amazon founder's real priority is keeping Donald Trump happy so the money keeps flowing from his lucrative government contracts. And the man worth $260 billion will do what it takes, even if that means hollowing out a great news organization and potentially turning it into a MAGA-friendly outlet.
