Space Nuts: Moon impact, Roman Observatory launch, and Neptune's odd moonsAndrew Dunkley is joined by Professor Jonti Horner, Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Southern Queensland, for a wide-ranging astronomy update. They cover SpaceX's out-of-control rocket body hitting the Moon, the imminent launch of the Nancy Grace Roman Observatory, and a new result that may explain the strange origin of some of Neptune's moons. We discuss why lunar impacts matter far beyond the Moon itself, how Roman will study exoplanets and dark energy, and why clay minerals on Neptune's small moons are such a big clue about a violent early solar system.Key topicsSpaceX's rocket body impacted the Moon after being left in a long, uncontrolled orbitWhy lunar impacts are a real concern for future habitats, infrastructure, and Apollo heritage sitesThe sheer scale of human-made objects that have already hit or landed on the MoonElon Musk's vision for lunar factories, rail-gun launches, and large-scale off-Earth manufacturingWhy the same company could end up both creating the risk and needing to solve itThe Nancy Grace Roman Observatory launching around 9 months ahead of scheduleRoman's 2.4 metre mirror, 300 megapixel wide-field camera, and hydrazine-fueled journey to L2How Roman will study dark energy, gravitational lensing, exoplanets, and free-floating planetsNew James Webb observations of Neptune's moons showing clay-type minerals on Larissa and GalateaWhy those clays suggest a much older, more violent system shaped by Triton's capture and moon-to-moon collisionsTimestamps:00:00 - Studio prep, muting phones, and getting ready to record01:53 - Episode intro: SpaceX lunar impact, Roman Observatory, and Neptune moons03:00 - Jonti Horner joins the show04:26 - SpaceX rocket body crashes into the Moon07:03 - Predicted impact plume and expected crater size08:54 - Korean spacecraft Danuri captures post-impact images10:19 - Why Moon impacts matter for future lunar bases11:47 - Protecting Apollo landing sites and lunar archaeology12:15 - More than 3,000 human-made objects have hit the Moon14:32 - Law, responsibility, and the problem of cleanup beyond Earth16:07 - Musk's plans for Moon factories and Starlink-style expansion18:12 - Rail guns, Optimus robots, and scaling lunar industry19:34 - SpaceX's own industry could be threatened by its own debris21:24 - Balancing commercial benefits and environmental costs23:46 - The Nancy Grace Roman Observatory launch approaches26:03 - Roman's orbit, hydrazine fuel, and five-year mission plan27:57 - From WFIRST to Roman: how the telescope evolved29:23 - Roman's mirror, 300 megapixel camera, and survey power30:14 - Exoplanets, microlensing, and the coronagraph33:29 - Roman's launch status and the excitement ahead34:17 - Neptune's moons and the role of TritonBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/space-nuts-astronomy-insights-cosmic-discoveries--2631155/support.

In "The Collision of Capital, Technology & Logistics", Joe Lynch speaks with Founder & Managing Partner of Gamma Point Advisory, Joey Milstein, about how the intersection of private equity, artificial intelligence, and operational execution is reshaping the future of supply chain M&A. About Joey Milstein Joey Milstein has spent more than 35 years inside the machinery of global trade, leading commercial organizations for ocean carriers, freight forwarders, and venture-backed logistics technology companies before moving to the advisory side. Having built businesses, sold technology, raised capital, and led growth from inside the industry, he brings an operator's perspective to every transaction. As Founder & Managing Partner of Gamma Point Advisory, Joseph advises founders on sell-side M&A and guides private equity firms, institutional investors, and strategic acquirers on buy-side strategy, growth, and logistics technology. He is known for connecting the worlds of operations, innovation, and capital, helping clients identify opportunities others miss and navigate one of the world's most complex industries with clarity and conviction. Joseph holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from New York University and serves as a strategic advisor to multiple logistics technology companies. About Gamma Point Advisory Gamma Point Advisory is a boutique M&A and strategic advisory firm focused exclusively on transportation, supply chain, and logistics technology. Unlike generalist investment banks or consultants, Gamma Point combines deep operating experience with transaction expertise, giving clients advice grounded in how the industry actually works. The firm advises founder-led businesses on sell-side M&A, capital formation, and strategic growth, while providing buy-side advisory to private equity firms, institutional investors, and strategic acquirers sourcing, evaluating, and executing investments across the logistics ecosystem. Gamma Point also works closely with emerging logistics technology companies to accelerate commercialization and market adoption. Gamma Point sits at the intersection of three worlds that rarely speak the same language: operators who move freight, innovators building the future, and the capital that funds it. Key Takeaways: The Collision of Capital, Technology & Logistics In "The Collision of Capital, Technology & Logistics", Joe Lynch speaks with Founder & Managing Partner of Gamma Point Advisory, Joey Milstein, about how the intersection of private equity, artificial intelligence, and operational execution is reshaping the future of supply chain M&A. The Intersection of Three Disconnected Worlds: Capital markets, technology providers, and logistics operators routinely "talk past each other" at industry conferences. Sustainable progress requires a "translator" who understands the nuances of operational realities, deal structures, and true software utility. The "Silver Tsunami" Driving Consolidation: Hundreds of healthy, lower mid-market logistics companies (drayage, family-owned forwarders, customs brokers) are reaching an inflection point. Owners in their 60s and 70s without generational succession plans are seeking capital infusions, mergers, or buyouts to exit. Prep Work Directly Impacts Valuations: Founders often lose millions in prospective sale value by going to market unprepared. Spending 3–6 months to audit operations, clean up balance sheets, remove unutilized assets ("dead wood"), and document institutional knowledge transforms potential multiples from 4x to 6x EBITDA. Private Equity's "Buy-and-Build" Playbook: Private equity interest in logistics—especially freight brokerage—is accelerating. PE firms look for established "platform" companies to serve as a base, then execute a "buy-and-build" strategy by acquiring smaller complementary add-ons to build scale rapidly over a 3-to-5-year horizon. Adopting Technology to Boost Valuations: Tech adoption is no longer optional for legacy operators. Implementing scalable, transferable software or modern AI tools directly increases a firm's exit valuation multiple, whereas sticking to outdated manual processes or disconnected legacy tech depresses market interest. Evaluating "Real AI" vs. Expensive Demos: With capital drying up for speculative "digital brokers" that subsidized freight rates without long-term profitability, investors and buyers now focus on technology that delivers measurable operational productivity, security, and lower overhead rather than slick, superficial software demos. Culture and Team Depth Outweigh Simple Financials: Successful acquisitions require balancing human dynamics and cultural fit alongside pure financial metrics. Founders must build institutional depth rather than centralizing all sales, financial, and operational expertise within a single leader. Welcome back to The Collision Vision, driven by Autobody News. I'm your host, Cole Strandberg. Collision repair is becoming more technical every year. New materials, more sophisticated joining methods, advanced measuring systems, OEM procedures, and increasingly complex vehicles have raised the bar for what it means to perform a proper repair. But ultimately, all of that technology still comes down to the person holding the tools. Today's guest is Juan Carlos Gasga Perez, owner of Premier Auto Body and the technician and educator behind Auto Body Strong. Juan has built a massive following by doing something relatively simple: showing the industry what great collision repair looks like in the real world. We'll talk about his journey from technician to shop owner, how Auto Body Strong became an educational platform for technicians around the world, and what he's learned by putting his work in front of such a large audience. We'll also get into the technical side — from structural repair and measuring to welding, equipment, efficiency, and what it really takes to perform today's increasingly complex repairs the right way. And finally, we'll look ahead at the technician of the future, and how better training, better tools, and maybe even social media can help us build the next generation of collision repair professionals. Because as sophisticated as the vehicles and technology become, great repairs still depend on great technicians. Let's get into it. Follow Juan: Instagram Youtube

Marine combat veteran, former Assistant Secretary of Defense, and military historian Bing West has spent six decades on battlefields from Vietnam to Afghanistan — and he's angry. In his new book, Cat 5: The 2033 War, West argues that America's leaders won every battle in three wars but lost every war, driven by what he calls the "Jupiter Complex" — the dangerous belief that America is so powerful it doesn't need to fight with full resolve. Now, he warns, that same hubris is converging with a crushing national debt and Xi Jinping's determination to seize Taiwan to create a Category 5 catastrophe by 2033. West joins Newt for a blunt, unsparing conversation about an emaciated military still buying legacy weapons, a debt spiral that leaves no room for defense spending, and what the next president must do to hold the line.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Turnbuckle Tavern is powered by G FUEL and Official Dick Lazer. Use code TAVERN for 20% off at GFUEL.com and DickLazers.com. Episode 204 of Wrestling Tonight begins in Japan, where G1 Climax 36 is officially down to Yota Tsuji, Ryohei Oiwa, Callum Newman and Yuya Uemura, guaranteeing a first-time tournament winner. Tsuji faces Uemura and Newman meets Oiwa in the semifinals Saturday, August 15 at Ryogoku Sumo Hall, with the winners advancing to Sunday's final. Both blocks ended with three wrestlers tied at 12 points. In A Block, Tsuji, Oiwa and Konosuke Takeshita all finished 6-3, but Tsuji and Oiwa advanced because both held head-to-head victories over Takeshita. Oiwa clinched his spot by beating Takeshita in the final A Block main event, while Tsuji defeated Jake Lee and benefited from Great-O-Khan eliminating Boltin Oleg by countout. B Block produced almost the same situation, with Newman, Uemura and Gabe Kidd all finishing 6-3. Kidd's losses to both semifinalists eliminated him on the head-to-head tiebreaker. With Tsuji already holding the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, the stakes are different for the other three. If Oiwa, Newman or Uemura wins the G1, that wrestler earns a future championship opportunity against Tsuji. If Tsuji wins, the reigning champion would presumably be positioned to select his own future challenger. Saturday's tournament matches will not headline the show, however. Hiroyoshi Tenzan wrestles the final match of his NJPW career against longtime TenKoji partner Satoshi Kojima in a five-minute exhibition, followed by Tenzan's retirement ceremony. The show begins at 2 a.m. Eastern on NJPW World. We then turn to Adam Copeland's first appearance inside Arena México, where he received a reaction he compared to one of the defining moments of his career. Tony Schiavone revealed that after AEW Grand Slam Mexico, he contacted Copeland to ask whether he had ever experienced a crowd response like it. Copeland's comparison was his 2020 WWE Royal Rumble return, when he returned to the ring nine years after neck issues had seemingly ended his career. Arena México had been a bucket-list destination for Copeland, and Bandido provided additional context for what the building represents by comparing it with Korakuen Hall, the Tokyo Dome and Madison Square Garden. Bandido described competing inside Arena México as the type of achievement that allows someone to call themselves a "real luchador." Copeland is also preparing to check off another deeply personal venue on October 3, when he wrestles for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, located on the grounds of the former Maple Leaf Gardens. Copeland has called Maple Leaf Gardens his wrestling "hallowed ground" and explained that Tony Khan allowed the appearance because AEW and Maple Leaf Pro are partners, Khan wants professional wrestling to flourish and he understood what the opportunity meant to Copeland personally. We also break down the growing uncertainty surrounding Bayley's WWE future. Bayley has reportedly been offered a new WWE contract but has not signed it, and there is conflicting information about exactly when her current deal expires. Bayley's own comments from April 2025 point toward October 2026, Fightful has reported that the deal is expected to expire by the end of 2026 unless additional time is added, and Bryan Alvarez has heard January 2027 but has not been able to verify that date. Dave Meltzer says Bayley has a decision to make and confirmed that she will not become a free agent in August. The speculation intensified after Bayley posted a training video featuring Mercedes Moné, captioned it "all or nothing, baby" and used the song "All In." WrestleVotes reported through Fightful Select that the post raised eyebrows backstage in WWE and did not land well with everyone. Despite the obvious AEW references, the available contract timelines make an appearance at All In on August 30 extremely unlikely. The bigger story is whether Bayley eventually re-signs with WWE or becomes one of wrestling's biggest free agents later this year or in early 2027. Swerve Strickland is also back in AEW, making his first appearance since losing to Will Ospreay in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament final at Forbidden Door. Swerve and Prince Nana confronted AEW World Trios Champions Hangman Page, Bandido and Brody King before Ricochet, The Demand and Lethal Twist entered the picture. With Jay Lethal, Blake Christian and Lee Johnson challenging Hangman, Brody King and Bandido for the Trios Championship on Collision, Swerve immediately finds himself surrounded by old enemies and a developing championship program. We also discuss the Fightful Select report that Austin Creed and Kofi are expected to join AEW soon. The report stopped short of confirming that either has officially signed, and no debut date has been established. The timing naturally creates speculation around All In, while both men have also been announced for Chris Jericho's Rock 'N' Wrestling Rager at Sea cruise in November. AEW All In 2026 continues to take shape at Wembley Stadium. Kenny Omega defends the AEW World Championship against Will Ospreay, Willow Nightingale defends the AEW Women's World Championship against Mercedes Moné, and Adam Copeland & Christian Cage defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks. One of the biggest additions is Kyle Fletcher defending the AEW International Championship against Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada. Takeshita defeated Okada for the title at Double or Nothing before Fletcher defeated Takeshita at Beach Break. Importantly, Takeshita has since left the Don Callis Family, while Fletcher and Okada remain aligned with Callis, adding another layer to the three-way. Kevin Knight defends the TNT Championship against Darby Allin in a Falls Count Anywhere match, with Knight entering their fourth singles meeting holding a 2-1 advantage. The men's Casino Gauntlet will begin with Andrade El Idolo entering No. 1 and MJF entering No. 2. MJF secured his position by defeating Mike Bailey and Nick Wayne on Dynamite, guaranteeing that his rivalry with Andrade will be part of the match from the opening bell. The winner receives a future AEW World Championship opportunity. The Wembley card currently includes Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay, Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Moné, Adam Copeland & Christian Cage vs. The Young Bucks, Kyle Fletcher vs. Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kazuchika Okada, Kevin Knight vs. Darby Allin, Divine Dominion vs. The Brawling Birds, the men's Casino Gauntlet and the Continental Challenge Cup Final. We also look at the latest Wembley ticket business. WrestleTix reported exactly 38,909 tickets distributed as of August 12, an increase of 1,400 over the previous four days. The current setup is 45,023, leaving 6,114 available and putting AEW at approximately 86.4 percent of its currently configured inventory. All In 2024 finished with 53,922 tickets distributed, meaning the 2026 show currently sits 15,013 tickets behind that mark. With All In taking place August 30, AEW now has 16 days to continue closing that gap, although matching the 2024 total would also require thousands of additional seats to be opened. Additional 500-level inventory has already begun to appear. Be sure to support the show and join our Patreon for just $2.99 a month at Patreon.com/TheTurnbuckleTavern for exclusive content. Indiana football fall camp is rolling, and CrimsonCast digs into some listener questions around Curt Cignetti's Hoosiers: the tight end room, replacing D'Angelo Ponds, defensive adjustments, and why Josh Hoover may not need to be a copy of Fernando Mendoza.Galen Clavio answers questions on how the TE room is shaping up, Brock Schott's potential emergence, Andrew Barker, Blake Thiry, and what Indiana needs from the tight end position in this offense. He also breaks down why the Ponds question may be the biggest on the roster, how Bryant Haines could adapt the defense, and why IU's elite defensive front may buy the secondary time early in the season. The episode also touches on Cignetti's lingering Notre Dame memory, the possibility of an Indiana-Notre Dame playoff rematch, ESPN and SEC resistance to a 24-team College Football Playoff, Josh Pate's regular-season argument, and why Indiana fans should be morally obligated to support giving more programs a legitimate shot.Subscribe to the Back Home Network for more CrimsonCast coverage of Indiana football, IU athletics, Curt Cignetti, the Hoosiers, Big Ten football, and the 2026 college football season.CrimsonCast LIVE at POSH Hotel Bloomington RSVP LinkVolleyball Golf Outing Information!

LinkedIn is rolling out a "Seems Like AI Slop" button. It's a way to flag the low-quality, computer-written posts filling your feed. I recap what AI slop actually is, why LinkedIn is killing its own "Enhance with AI" button in the same breath, and why the toothpaste is already out of the tube. The real point: slop isn't a style problem, it's a trust problem. It dilutes your brand. You can build a business in a few clicks now, but you can't build a brand that way. The greatest leverage in business is media and attention, and slop is the fastest way to squander it. Use AI as a tool, not a crutch. Write it yourself first, let AI tighten it, and always vibe check before you publish.Timestamps(0:06) — LinkedIn's new "Seems Like AI Slop" button, and what AI slop does to your brand(0:51) — The post that started this, and zero-click content → LinkedIn post(1:51) — LinkedIn kills its own "Enhance with AI" button(3:51) — Zombie metaphor: "Your AI-written posts are already dead. Turnbuckle Tavern is powered by G FUEL and Official Dick Lazer. Use code TAVERN for 20% off at GFUEL.com and DickLazers.com. Episode 200 is headlined by our deep dive into All Elite Wrestling's newly announced Continental Cup as we explain the tournament's format, its inspiration from England's historic Football Association Challenge Cup and what it means for the future of the Continental Championship. Along the way, we explore the history behind the oldest national football competition in the world, examine Tony Khan's connection to English football through Fulham Football Club, discuss Nigel McGuinness entering the tournament ahead of Wembley Stadium and analyze why the Continental Cup is designed to complement rather than replace the Continental Classic. We begin by breaking down the announcement itself, explaining why Jon Moxley's comments on Dynamite created confusion before Collision finally revealed the structure of the Continental Cup. From there, we examine the tournament's sixteen-man single-elimination format, the random draw after every round, Continental Rules and why putting the Continental Championship on the line throughout the tournament creates immediate stakes for every match. Next, we explore the history of the Football Association Challenge Cup, tracing its origins back to 1871 and explaining how random draws, knockout competition and the tradition of "giant-killing" have helped make it one of the most prestigious sporting competitions in the world. We also discuss Tony Khan's decade-long involvement with Fulham Football Club and why the Continental Cup feels like a natural extension of his ties to English football rather than simply another wrestling tournament. From there, we shift our attention back to All Elite Wrestling as we discuss Nigel McGuinness announcing himself for the tournament, why competing for a cup at Wembley Stadium carries unique significance for one of Britain's greatest wrestlers and how his inclusion immediately gives the tournament an emotional connection to the country that inspired it. We then compare the Continental Cup to the Continental Classic, explaining why the two tournaments are fundamentally different despite revolving around the same championship. We also examine how New Japan Pro-Wrestling successfully presents both the New Japan Cup every spring and the G1 Climax every summer, rewarding different styles of competition while building annual traditions around the same roster. We discuss how the Continental Championship has evolved since Eddie Kingston won the inaugural Continental Classic, the role of Continental Rules in establishing the title's identity and why adding a second annual tournament could further elevate the championship. Finally, we address one of the biggest criticisms surrounding the announcement: does All Elite Wrestling have too many tournaments and too many prizes? We discuss why that criticism is understandable, why presentation and communication matter just as much as the concept itself, and why the Continental Cup should ultimately be judged by the moments it creates rather than by the fact that it is another tournament. We close by examining what All Elite Wrestling must do over the coming weeks to transform the Continental Cup from an interesting idea into a lasting annual tradition. IL's Kevin Brown and Chris Rosenthall return to discuss a wild midweek of news in the PLL as five Syracuse rookies may be looking to head back to college for a fifth year, and the PLL and WLL are teaming up with the NLL to promote the Lexus Global Lacrosse Games in December. After breaking all of that down, Rosie eloquently recaps how he stayed up until 3 a.m. Friday night to bear witness to the Waterdogs' first of two wins in Denver, why the Archers are so scary on their four-game win streak and Kevin officially cancels his title game collision course between the most talented two teams on paper, Philly and Denver, due to the latter's injury woes. The duo previews the run-in for the East and West teams' remaining games and predict who will miss out on the PLL postseason. Wallace Thornhill returns to the show to talk with us about The Electric Universe. We discuss some of the new scientific discoveries and how they relate, their upcoming EU conference in June, the history of the solar system, the electic sun, and how all this relates to consciousness. Also, we lost connection a couple times near the end. I edited out those parts, but the edit isn't perfect, so if it seems things don't flow right a couple of times, that is why.Wallace Thornhill graduated in Physics at Melbourne University in 1964 and began postgraduate studies with Prof. Victor Hopper's upper atmosphere research group. Before entering university, he had been inspired by Immanuel Velikovsky through his controversial best-selling book, Worlds in Collision. Wal experienced first-hand the indifference and sometimes hostility toward a radical challenge to mainstream science. He realized there is no career for a heretic in academia.Wal worked for 11 years with IBM Australia. The later years were spent in the prestigious IBM Systems Development Institute in Canberra, working on the first computer graphics system in Australia. He was the technical support for the computing facilities in the Research Schools at the Australian National University, which gave him excellent access to libraries and scientists there.Wal was initially heavily influenced by the then revolutionary ideas of Immanuel Velikovsky of Princeton. Velikovsky proposed that mankind had been devastated in the past by cosmological events . Wal took these ideas and with his deep knowledge of astronomy and, plasma physics began his own questioning of scientific dogma. Paramount was the place of electro magnetism, as distinct from gravity, in the formation of the universe . This slowly but surely led to his and other colleagues (such as David Talbot, Donald Scott, and Anthony Peratt) questioning such ingrained theories as the big bang, black holes and Einstein's theory of relativity. This group in particular contend that many scientific “proofs “are theory laden or mathematically concocted. An insistence on empirical data from observations and experiments gives their work true integrity.
