Welcome to Manufacturing Greatness with Trevor Blondeel, where we work with organizations to manufacture greatness by leveraging resources you already have to achieve greater retention, productivity, and profits. To learn more, visit www.manufacturinggreatness.com and click here to subscribe to Trevor's monthly newsletter. Now, let's jump in! In today's manufacturing environment, the biggest barrier to productivity, talent retention, and employee satisfaction isn't equipment or process, it's connection. Organizations may invest in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization, yet engagement, safety culture, and performance management often still fall short. The difference comes down to leadership. Strong communication, effective coaching, and intentional leadership development are what enable shift supervisors and frontline supervisors to lead teams successfully in Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing environments. On this episode of Manufacturing Greatness, we're joined by Morag Barrett, a leadership development expert, executive coach, and keynote speaker dedicated to solving the growing disconnect in the workplace. She's also the author of Cultivate: The Power of Winning Relationships. Morag helps leaders strengthen relationships, improve change management, and build high-performing teams. If you want to boost production efficiency, enhance workforce development, and lead with greater impact, this conversation offers practical tools to elevate both results and relationships. 00:30 — When trust erodes between managers and frontline supervisors, performance management weakens, talent retention declines, and manufacturing productivity suffers. 01:00 — Success in manufacturing is driven by connection, not just competence, especially when leading change management, workforce development, and process optimization initiatives. 03:00 — A common leadership gap occurs when organizations promote for results but fail to provide management training, coaching skills, and clarity on new expectations in production management roles. 05:30 — Relationship breakdowns create silos across production, quality management, and supply chain management, reducing collaboration, problem solving, and overall production efficiency. 07:00 — The "relationship ecosystem" highlights how workplace dynamics shift between allies, supporters, rivals, and adversaries, directly impacting communication, conflict resolution, and team performance. 09:00 — Transitioning from peer to leader requires intentional leadership development, clear expectations, and ongoing communication to maintain trust and employee satisfaction. 15:00 — The "relationship pulse check" introduces simple but powerful questions that strengthen engagement, support diversity and inclusion, and improve team alignment. 20:00 — Consistent communication and follow-up build psychological safety, strengthen safety leadership, and reinforce a strong safety culture across the shop floor. 25:30 — Sustainable manufacturing greatness comes from daily leadership habits like slowing down, building connection, and investing in people to support burnout prevention, work-life balance, and long-term manufacturing productivity. It's Marvel Monday and we're blasting off into space! ABOUT GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY A group of intergalactic criminals must pull together to stop a fanatical warrior with plans to purge the universe. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY August 1, 2014 | Theatrical Release CAST & CREW OF GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Director: James Gunn Writers: James Gunn, Nicole Perlman, Dan Abnett Cast: Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord Vin Diesel as Groot (voice) Bradley Cooper as Rocket (voice) Zoe Saldaña as Gamora Dave Bautista as Drax BRAN'S MOVIE SYNOPSIS It's 1988 and young Peter Quill is having a tough go of it but at least he has his music. His mom is sick and she ends up passing away. He's real sad and runs out of the hospital into a foggy field. Unfortunately for him, the hits keep coming and he's abducted by an alien ship. 26 years later, we're on the planet of Morag. We see a dude with a mask of glowing red eyes walking around. He uses this device to see what used to be on the planet. He takes his mask off and we see it's Peter all grown up, still a big fan of music. He tries to steal this orb thing but is taken by guys. Ultimately, he's able to escape, orb in hand. Yondu, the guy who abducted Peter way back when, finds out that Peter stole the orb and puts a bounty out for him. Bad guy Ronan also finds out the orb was taken and sends an assassin named Gamora after him. But that's not allllll - bounty hunters Rocket (a raccoon) and Groot (a tree) see him and decide to go after him when they find out how much his bounty is worth. Peter tries to sell the orb but it doesn't work. Gamora is waiting for him as he walks out and takes the orb. A fight breaks out which is a good time for Rocket and Groot to jump in on the fight. They all end up getting arrested. While in prison, they meet a guy named Drax who is known for killing associates of Ronan, so he's got his sights on Gamora. Peter stops him from killing her by hatching an idea - let her take you to Ronan to kill him. Gamora explains that she's actually betrayed Ronan and intended to sell the orb. Together, they're able to escape. We then see Ronan talking to Gamora's dad, Thanos, about her betrayal. He sends his other daughter (who he loves less), Nebula, to go get her back. So they take the orb to a dude who can open it. Turns out, inside is the Infinity Stone. So that's not great. Nebula shows up and destroys Gamora's ship while Ronan's fighters capture the Orb. Peter sees Gamora out there floating in space about to die. So he goes out there and gives her his helmet so that he can pull her back into his ship. So, Peter & Co. know that facing Ronan will not turn out well but that they cannot let him use the Infinity Stone. So they need to hatch a plan. Speaking of which, Ronan puts the Stone in his warhammer, taking its power for himself. Nebula, hating her dad, agrees to team up with him. So the squad decides to team up with Yondu and co. to stop Ronan. Ronan pulls up and just starts absolutely wrecking their fleet like it's nothing. Inside the ship, Drax gets his revenge moment, Gamora and Nebula have their sister fight, and everyone quickly realizes… oh no, we are in over our heads. Peter decides the best way to stop him is… a dance-off distraction which gives Drax and Rocket just enough time to destroy Ronan's hammer. Peter grabs the Infinity Stone, which should absolutely kill him—but plot twist! His friends grab onto him, they all share the power of friendship, and together they vaporize Ronan. The group officially becomes the Guardians of the Galaxy, their records get wiped clean, and Quill learns he's only half human which is why the Infinity Stone didn't kill him. Finally, Peter opens the last gift from his mom: a new mixtape. Watch the show on Youtube - www.deckthehallmark.com/youtubeInterested in advertising on the show? Vote in the UnAwards2025We sit down with Scottish running superstar Morag Millar for an honest, engaging and fun chat! Morag dives into her journey from a football-obsessed kid (opposing parents thought she was a boy) to becoming a European Junior champion. She reveals about her Commonwealth Games race (mostly powered by... aqua jogging?)Morag also gets seriously personal about balancing elite training with motherhood and the magical power of pelvic floor physios. We chat about:• The Traumatic Truth: She only took up athletics to get faster for football, but the coach's promise of fewer injuries was definitely a lie!• The Aqua Games: How running the Commonwealth Games 1500m final at 19 was less about training and more about surviving off an intense aqua-jogging regime.• The Unforgettable Snack: Morag talks about a 'massive' ball of meat on a stick in Estonia!• "My Old Body" and the Grind: The only thing worse than a 12-mile Sunday long run is the fear of accidentally throwing out your treasured Scotland jersey during a house clear-out.• From C-Section to Super-Mum: The emotional and amazing story of her second birth, the incredible care she received, and why pelvic health physio is a non-negotiable priority for running mums.• 40 is the New 5K PB: Morag is in a race against the clock (and her 40th birthday!) to snag a spot on the V35 all-time list before being forced to dominate the V40 category.• The Real MVP: Morag reveals the secret to balancing elite training, clinic work, and two young kids: a massive support team of magical grandparents.Rejuvenation by Dr MoragBlair Inglis PTPhoto credit: Bobby GavinVote in the UnAwards2025

Many organizations invest heavily in systems, strategies, and tools—yet overlook the one factor that most powerfully determines performance: the quality of relationships at work. When connection is missing, even the best plans struggle. When connection is strong, challenges become easier to navigate, trust grows, and teams flourish. Morag Barrett, founder and CEO of SkyTeam, has spent more than two decades helping over 15,000 leaders across 20 countries transform workplace relationships into a strategic asset. She is the bestselling author of Cultivate: The Power of Winning Relationships and You, Me, We: Why We All Need a Friend at Work, and was recently recognized among the Top 50 Leadership and Management Experts in 2025. In Episode 246 of The Mindset Game® Podcast, Morag shares: How loneliness and disconnection show up silently in organizations, eroding engagement, trust, and performance What it means to lead with an Ally Mindset, and how generosity, curiosity, courage, and accountability can transform culture The business case for friendship at work—and why belonging isn't a "nice-to-have," but a driver of results To learn more about Morag Barrett and her work with SkyTeam, visit skyeteam.com or connect with her on LinkedIn. Leadership expert and author Morag Barrett joins Doug Utberg to challenge the myth that “real connection means keeping the peace.” Together they unpack why the best teams — and the strongest friendships — aren't the ones that avoid conflict, but the ones that use it to grow stronger.Morag, founder of SkyTeam, shares how two decades of leadership research revealed a truth few executives want to hear: false harmony kills innovation. Real connection, she says, requires friction, feedback, and the courage to say the hard things before a crisis hits.Doug reflects on his own journey from people-pleasing to presence — and how letting go of performance-based validation can create genuine relationships at work and in life. The result? A conversation that's equal parts psychology, leadership, and personal transformation — reminding us that the path to trust runs straight through tension.TL;DR* Connection without conflict isn't trust — it's tolerance.* Great teams talk about tension before it breaks them.* Supporters agree; allies challenge and grow with you.* Presence beats performance — every time.* Friction, handled with care, forges deeper bonds.Memorable lines* “Connection isn't soft — it's steel wrapped in empathy.”* “Supporters make you comfortable; allies make you better.”* “False harmony is where innovation goes to die.”* “You can't build trust if no one's willing to be uncomfortable.”GuestMorag Barrett — Founder and CEO of SkyTeam, leadership expert, keynote speaker, and author of You, Me, We: Why We All Need a Friend at Work (and How to Show Up as One).- LinkedIn: - Website:Why it mattersTeams don't fail from lack of skill — they fail from lack of trust. In today's episode, I'm sharing a simple but profound coaching demo from a recent workshop. During this session, you'll hear Morag, a coach, open up about a “marketing problem.” She'd been struggling to connect with a key organization, feeling stuck on how to communicate the value of her work in a way that truly landed with them. Together, we explored what I know to be the two essential things you have to have before a client will decide to enroll with you. By the end of the session, Morag had a powerful realization - one that could shift your perspective on how to engage potential clients, too. I won't spoil the surprise here, but I'm confident you'll find plenty of value in listening to the coaching session. What I love about this demo is how relatable it is. Whether you're just starting out or have years of experience, we've all faced moments where we've felt stuck or unsure of how to approach or connect with the people we'd love to work with. ---

Glenmore Lodge, the Scottish National Outdoor Training Centre, has recently established Scotland's first hill navigation training course to be delivered in British Sign Language. One of those involved in setting it up was deaf climber and mountaineer Morag Skelton. Mark chatted to Morag for the Scotland Outdoors podcast, and we hear an excerpt where they speak about her childhood outdoors and the practicalities involved in climbing when you can't hear. For our latest Scotland Outdoors podcast, Rachel went to meet M.T O'Donnell in her garden near Glasgow. M.T is the founder of Scotland Grows magazine and the host of the Scotland Grows Show podcast. She's keen on looking after her garden in a way that's nature friendly and as she tells Rachel, that even extends to dealing with slugs. On the shores of Loch Awe near Dalmally lies the very striking St Conan's Church. Mark went for a visit to explore its remarkable architecture, both inside and out. A few weeks ago, Mark and Rachel headed across to the island of Easdale which lies 15 miles south of Oban. They got the ferry from Seil and chatted to the boatman, Alan, about who lives on Easdale and who visits. Mark also chats to Bethan Smith who owns a soap making business on the island. And Rachel catches up with Mike Mackenzie who has lived there for decades. He tells her what the community is like and how he came to live on the wee island. If you looked up to the sky earlier this week you might have been lucky to catch a glimpse of the Perseid Meteor Shower. The Perseids are one of the most dramatic things to see in the night sky and the shower will be active for another week or so. We chat live to the Astronomer Royal for Scotland, Catherine Heymans, to get her hints and tips on how to spot the meteors and what else to look out for in the night sky at this time of year. The Countryside Rangers at Mugdock Country Park in East Dunbartonshire have been taking groups out to help them learn how to identify bird species by their sound. Linda Sinclair joined a group, led by Ranger Alan MacBride at Clachan of Campsie, at dusk to listen out for our birdsong and try to identify what they could hear. Poet Matt Kinghorn decided to walk more than 200 miles from his home in Aberdeenshire to North Berwick just to offer a listening ear to anyone who needed it. Rachel met up with him at the start of his challenge to hear more about why he'd decided to do it. And to round off their trip to Easdale, the home of the world stone skimming championships, Mark and Rachel try their hands at skimming despite the rather inclement weather.

We’re going back to the beginning to take one last look at the state of things in the Administration of Blake’s world, personified by Morag. The post Blakes 7 In Character – Morag first appeared on NEOZAZ.
