Welcome back to the Evolve Move Play Podcast! Today we're joined by Joseph Bartz Joseph Germany, to an artistic family of writers, musicians and people working in the theater. He went through the Waldorf method of schooling, which outside of the usual subjects also puts a lot of value into crafting, music and dancing. At 13 years old, Joseph started delving into various disciplines of physical practice. Starting with martial arts and strength training, his interests expanded to include parkour and aspects of natural movement such as tree climbing and doing most things barefoot. He also became interested in wilderness training and primitive skills, which he has been learning with Uwe Belz. Joseph would take his passion for these physical practices and build a career around them, he has taught countless workshops and helped thousands of students deepen their knowledge and relationship to movement. Today he's joining us to talk about a variety of topics, including the deep meaning that can be obtained through developing a robust ecology of practices, and how the process of building a skillful body should not only enhance your physical abilities, but your strength of character as well. I really enjoyed having Joseph on the show, and hopefully we'll be able to continue our chat in the near future. Check out our new 5 day online workshop: Return to Movement. Now on sale for just $27! https://learn.evolvemoveplay.com/return-to-movement55572232 ============ Hey YouTube, and welcome back to the Evolve Move Play Podcast! This year has been as busy as it's been exciting. Between running the Embodied Movement Summit, three seasonal retreats, taking part in an upcoming documentary about John Vervaeke, and building a brand new online course and members area, it has left little room to focus on the podcast. The show will be getting back to a regular schedule soon, but today I wanted to just drop in, say hi and share an awesome conversation I had with writer, critic, and podcast host Damien Walter! I had a wonderful time talking with Damien about our views on meaning, nihilism, fiction and storytelling, and I hope to have him on the show again in the future. If you enjoy the conversation, be sure to leave a like, comment, and subscribe if you haven't yet. Your support means the world to us! Thanks a lot and enjoy the show! ============ Learn More about Damien Walter Website: https://damiengwalter.com/ Podcast: https://damiengwalter.com/podcast/ IG: https://www.instagram.com/damiengwalter/

The Embodied Movement Summit is going live this month, January 24-28, and today on the podcast we are joined by one of the keynote speakers of this amazing event, our good friend Sebastien Foucan! If you'd like to check out his presentation, or any of the 27+ others we have lined up from top professionals in the fields of Movement, Mindfulness, Community and Nature Connection, hit the link to get signed up! https://summit.evolvemoveplay.com/yt For those of you who are unfamiliar, Seb was among the pioneers of parkour in Paris in the 1980s. He was an introverted and unconfident child but liked to go out and explore the environment close to where he lived. As a teenager who struggled at school and had difficulties at home, climbing, jumping, running, playing and interacting with the landscape became an escape for him and his friends. He then developed a love for natural movement. The passion and dedication for his craft led him to be invited to participate in several high profile performance roles with James Bond in Casino Royale, Madonna, Nike and K-swiss amongst others. Today we're talking about three of our biggest shared passions: Parkour, Martial Arts and Play. These things have shaped both of our lives to such a magnitude that we could probably devote an entire season to the topics and still just scratch the surface. I had a wonderful time talking with Seb, and we will definitely have him on the show again in the future, so if you also enjoyed the conversation, leave a like, comment, and subscribe if you haven't yet. And again, don't miss out on the Embodied Movement Summit where you can catch Sebastiens talk “Playfulness for Longevity and Vitality”. During his presentation you'll discover how you can reconnect with your sense of play to engage in a sustainable and rewarding practice, find out how to free yourself from fear and anxiety, and key into your body's innate, seasonal rhythms so you can adapt your practice and be your best self every day. And that's just one of the 27+ presentations you get access to by signing up. Here are a few more you won't want to miss: John Vervaeke | “Why we need Movement and Mindfulness to Recover Lost Ways of Knowing and Solve the Meaning Crisis” Kelly Starret | “Discover the Fundamental Tools for Management of Pain and Tissue Quality” Nick Winkelman | “Understand the Power of Language in Coaching and Athletics” Marlo Fisken | “Give Yourself Permission to Express and Serve Your Community Through Expression” Want to jump in or learn more? Here's the link again! https://summit.evolvemoveplay.com/yt Thanks!
