Erwan Le Corre is the founder of “MovNat”, a synthesis of his long-term passion for real-world physical competency, his love of movement in nature, his extensive knowledge of Physical Education history, and his personal philosophy of life. He believes it is everyone's universal and biological birthright to be strong, healthy, happy and free. He calls this state of being our “True Nature”. Erwan was born on September 10th, 1971 in France. At home, the TV set had a black and white screen with no remote control and no video games, and personal computers and internet didn't exist. Most leisure time was spent outdoors exploring the surrounding woods. He was not only free to go move outside as much as he wanted, he was actively encouraged to do so. At a very young age, Erwan's father would often take him outdoors to run, crawl, climb, and jump, helping him to push his physical and mental limits. That's when his passion for movement in nature started. Until his teenage years, Erwan's only physical education came from Judo and exploring the world around him.   Listen to this episode of The MOVEMENT Movement with Erwan Le Corre about enhancing cognition through natural movement.   Here are some of the beneficial topics covered on this week's show: - How adding primal movements into physical training allows people to reconnect individuals with nature and enhance physical capabilities. - Why engaging in natural movement enhancing your memory and brain function. - How incorporating natural movements like squatting into daily activities enhances your physical capability. - Why people should engage in walking and sensory stimulation in natural environments to contribute to cognitive health. - How you can reconnect with your innate physical abilities through practicing natural movements. Robert Fliri, an Italian designer and innovator in footwear design, shares his journey of reconnecting with nature and developing the concept of natural footwear. He grew up in the mountains, surrounded by nature, and was always drawn to technology and mechanical engineering. However, he felt a disconnect when he entered the world of design and decided to create a footwear prototype that would allow him to feel the ground like he was barefoot but with protection. This led to the development of Vibram FiveFingers, a glove-like shoe that revolutionized the way people think about footwear. The conversation explores the journey of Vibram's FiveFingers shoes and the natural foot movement. Robert Fliri, a product developer at Vibram, discusses the importance of finding balance in movement and not pushing oneself beyond their limits. He emphasizes the idea of using footwear as tools to extend human capabilities, but also recognizes the value of the human foot as the perfect tool for running and walking. The conversation delves into the initial response to FiveFingers, the challenges faced in bringing the product to market, and the controversy surrounding the health benefits of the shoe. It also touches on the need for proper education and a gradual transition when adopting a natural footwear approach. The conversation concludes with a discussion on the future of the natural foot movement and the potential for wider public adoption. We share a story of chronic pain and of having to search for why our bodies were reacting that way.  Our solutions were similar in terms of adopting a natural movement lifestyle and Samphire went even further to uncover her own story, by studying and adopting new practises she had never heard of before. Like myself, she has now chosen to use her learning and insight to help others.  This conversation explores the experience of living with chronic pain and the journey towards building strength and finding hope. We talked about the link between chronic pain and trauma, as well as the impact of chronic pain on mental health. Are you a nose-breather or a mouth-breather? I sat down for lunch recently with a few old friends, and one of them asked: “Abel, what is the most underrated performance hack in health and fitness?” I said without hesitation, “nasal breathing.” When you learn to harness the power of the breath, you can rewire your entire nervous system, which has vast implications for your health, performance, and even your personality. The state of our nervous system directly impacts our quality of life and ability to enjoy life's challenges. Today we're here with one of the OG's of alternative health and natural movement, the creator of MovNat and Breathholdwork, our friend Erwan Le Corre. Erwan is known as the "Godfather of Natural Movement" and is author of "The Practice of Natural Movement."  No slouch, Erwan holds a US National Record in static breath-holding with a 7 minutes 29 seconds performance. His personal best breath hold currently sits at 8 minutes 03 seconds!  This episode is both practical and deeply existential, with questions like: “Are we spiritual beings having a human experience, or humans having a spiritual experience?” I hope you dig this one. On this episode, you'll discover: How Erwan developed and practiced the ability to hold his breath for 8 minutes (!!!) Why hyperventilation leads to sympathetic dominance, which can be detrimental to well-being Why developing physical capability is a moral responsibility How to manage your mindset to become more resilient and thrive under stress  The physical, emotional, and mental consequences of breathwork How to achieve a state of peace, trust, and love through regulating your nervous system. She emphasizes the importance of viewing the lower body as an integrated system and the role of foot muscles in overall foot health. Finally, she provides a simplified explanation of the ideal footwear, which allows the foot to function naturally. She explains that while there are now more options for natural footwear on the market, it is essential to educate individuals on what to look for in a shoe. Davis also shares her current research focus on the impact of minimal shoes on bone health, particularly the metatarsals. She encourages health professionals to explore the topic of minimal footwear and references a paper on the subject as a valuable resource. Dr. Nick and Dr. David sit down with Restore Human Senior Coach Pax Frias. We dive into talks about building a better body through proper training modalities and understanding concepts such as tensegrity to reach your goals whether it be to eliminate pain and dysfunction or to improve performance. Concepts we speak about- - Understanding which systems need training to find resolution of joint issues - The role your fascia and tensegrity play in the functionality of your entire body - Having a goal in mind with the outcome that you want from your training - How to find the right trainer to help you achieve your fitness goals - and more........ Pax Frias is a Restore Human Senior Coach with many mobility and fitness certifications and is an avid biohacker. Growing up in the Andes Mountains of Chile with a loving family, seven dogs and three cats, played a significant role in developing Pax's penchant for being outside and in motion. Running along a deep forest trail, swimming in the ocean, climbing rocks or lifting logs on the beach, are all things he does for fun. Realizing a deep passion to help people become strong, stay motivated, and cultivate vibrant health, Pax became a personal trainer. Then his adventurous mind and body lead him to explore things like Obstacle Course Racing, Natural Movement, the Wim Hof Method, and Functional Range Conditioning, among other approaches to wellbeing optimization. Drawing on these experiences, Coach Pax enjoys educating people on the power of creating and maintaining a healthy mind-body connection, which is the foundation for the goal of being fit for the long term.     Alongside Master Coach K, Pax has delved deeper into the science and practical application of movement for health. Having assisted in teaching Restore Human courses in Europe and North America, he is a key contributor to the further refinement and execution of the Restore Human Method.

Your Mind and your Heart - those mental and emotional realms - as well as your leadership ability. Everything you do depends on the Body. If your body's not in alignment, it doesn't function well. We teach the Impact concept called SEAT (Sleep, Eat, and Train) to lay the foundation for your whole-person health. The practice of Natural Movement, now including his record-setting practice and research into breath work, is the subject of today's episode with MovNat founder Erwan LeCorre. He explains that we are a system of energy systems - and life is all about how you manage those levels of biological energy. We need balance. If you find that balance in a healthy way, you thrive. If instead you have learned to depend on chemicals and other coping mechanisms, you hurt yourself. We need connection with others, but also to be that biological unit, this unit of life, with autonomy. And the greater autonomy we establish, the better we can serve the community we inhabit.
