However, even though there is research on that, there is also research on phytoestrogens actually also being antiestrogenic. So it looks like phytoestrogens have been shown to have both estrogenic and antiestrogenic effects. Which one is it? Chelsea: Hi Dr. Cabral. I was wondering what labs you would run on a newborn just to make sure everything looks good and that the baby is healthy. Natalie Kylie: Hi Stephen and team, I wanted to make enquiries with regards to your functional lab testing and coaching call included and then also your private concierge practice. I have been suffering with chronic illness for a number of years, two years ago I became so unwell I had to stop working and move back home with my family. With a history of gut issues, constipation, candida, bladder infections, eating disorder etc. The year leading up to moving back home, thyroid issues, loss of periods, strepteccocus overgrowth of 96%, liver congestion and my bowel stopped functioning completely on its own. I have tried many things and always learn to a more wholistic natural approach, I have definitely healed in many ways in the last few years but still my bowel requires daily supplements of herbals to function, I have lost a lot of weight due to not absorbing nutrients, I react easily to food and am on restricted foods no grain, limited protein, just fruit and vegetable all fresh and organic, I also react to many supplements and always have to approach with care, I still have thyroid issues and gut issues, and suffer exhaustion as well as nausea, cramping etc. I have been considering getting some of your tests done and was wondering if the cost is in US dollars? I am in Australia. And also the hair mineral analysis test, this doesn't work if you have coloured hair from hair dye does it? Ive been following a Candida Diet for about 3 months at the request of my doctor. I experienced some kind of improvement the first month but I've felt little progress since then. The type of earwax you have indicates whether or not you have smelly armpits!  It's true! The gene that brings you wet, sticky earwax is also responsible for the excretion of a protein with your sweat under your arms. It's that protein that attracts bacteria and STINKS! Lots of people around the world actually have dry, flaky earwax. They don't have that same protein secreted under their arms and so they don't stink so much. That's just one of the interesting things covered in this episode by Ethan Millard and his guest co- host Sue Kelley of 103.5 The Arrow, Utah's Classic Rock. Believe it or not there are also a few household uses for earwax.  In the past, it's been used in sewing to keep cut thread from fraying. It was also an early ointment for small cuts.  It's even been reported to have been used as a lip balm.  Do we need to mention that none of these statements have been evaluated by the FDA etc etc...? As you could probably guess, your earwax protects your ears. It originates well inside your ear canal then flows outward, carrying with it dead cells, hairs, and any contamination it can trap. The earwax carries it all right out of your body.  Pretty cool system, even if it is a little gross. If you catch your kids tasting their earwax, don't worry, it's just a mass of long chain fatty acids and a few other substances naturally produced by your body. Some research has also indicated that earwax has an anti microbial effect. This would explain its early use as a salve (gross). Doctors say to be careful in cleaning earwax from your ear. For the most part, your ear canal never needs to be cleaned out and you should definitely never stick anything down there. If you push a q-tip into your ear canal you could damage your eardrum, introduce infection, or cause the ear wax to mash down further and become impacted. Impacted earwax can lead to hearing loss and that's when you should visit a doctor. Don't try to clean your child's impacted ear wax yourself. A doctor can use special tools to scrape away the wax or to flush it out using an irrigation system.
