Scientist Amy Eskridge was a brilliant mind in technology and futurism. However, in June of 2022, the 34-year old allegedly took her own life, which to some is controversial at best. She was the president and CEO of the Institute of Exotic Science in Huntsville Alabama. However, many believe she didn't 'unalive' herself, and that her life was taken because of the technologies and discoveries she had made.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/spaced-out-radio--1657874/support.

Courtney Marchesani is a Psychophysiology PhD Candidate currently studying NDEs and synchronous experiences. Author: Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive, The Fifth Chamber, and others. Marchesani is one of the handful of researchers looking at the paranormal who understands the full extent of the consciousness connection. Courtney grew up in a small, blue-collar town in northeastern Pennsylvania. Intense experiences in her early life shaped her hard-working mentality and spiritual philosophy about writing, research, and holistic medicine. As the daughter of a Hall of Fame coach who pioneered Title IX, she learned change happens with perseverance, courage, and the willingness to do things differently. Courtney is an empath, a former mental health specialist, an author, a healer, speaker, and passionate published researcher. We speak with her on consciousness, healing, and many interrelated topics, beginning with her own personal experiences of psychic ability (i.e. accurate precognition) early in her life. With great depth, and heart, Courtney has researched how awareness of our innate intuition and sensitivity help us become more empowered humans. What are the gifts we need to envision new humanity? Do you believe that what some think of as peculiar or insane might be a special gift for somebody else? In this episode of Messages of Infinite Light, host Ayn Cates Sullivan and guest Courtney Marchesani explain the difference between insanity and the gifts of the highly sensitive. The gifts of the highly sensitive include four types - sensitive intuition, sensitive empath, sensitive expression, and sensitive visionary. Courtney is the owner and Holistic Health Coach of Inspired Health and Wellness. Together with Ayn, they emphasize that each of us has a unique combination of gifts that make us valuable and needed in this world. Tune in to this episode, and together we dream of a new and refreshed world where we can thrive with the help of the gifts.
Do you struggle with being sensitive? Do you feel too much too quickly? No question, being over-sensitive can be a challenge. Highly sensitive people sponge emotions – their own and those of others - making them feel easily wired and overwhelmed. There seems to be not enough time or energy to process the feelings and sensations, which can lead eventually to emotional exhaustions and physical problems. On top of it, sensitive people often feel “different” and isolated from the rest of the world. Generally speaking, our society has little room and patience for feelings. Logic and toughness are far more accepted than emotions and sensitivity. Being highly sensitive is considered a flaw and weakness, with very little “competitive” value. …so what can you do? Suppress your sensitivity or pretend that you are unaffected by it? The fact is that sensitivity is a strength, which when you learn how to control and utilize it can lead to greater self-awareness, success and fulfillment. Listen to this Get Real interview with self-empowerment expert Dr. Friedemann Schaub and special guest and health coach Courtney Marchesani to learn the keys on how to access and work with your power of sensitivity. Why do we need to embrace the gift of sensitivity? How can we acquire intra-psychic abilities? In this episode of Wisdom of Ages, host Ayn Cates Sullivan and guest Courtney Marchesani talk about the process of embracing the science of sensitivity. There are four gifts of the sensitive: empathy, intuition, vision, and expression. They share that it is a must to develop a Buddha-like state of awareness and awakening. Tune in and test to find out your specific sort of gift.
"I think our sensitivity is what is beautiful about it and about the abilities developing over time because it is what creates compassion, it is what creates inner-connectivity in individuals and community and kindness, and that's what we need right now more than anything else." —Courtney Marchesani In her extraordinary new book from Hay House, Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive: Embrace the Science of Sensitivity, Heal Anxiety and Relationships, and Connect Deeply With Your World, Courtney Marchesani de-stigmatizes the term “sensitive,” illustrating how “sensitivity” is a powerful advantage, and provides a pathway to an effective balancing act between being highly aware and participating fully in the world without feeling the need to shut down or self-anesthetize to avoid pain, people or environmental stimulation. Now a coach, teacher and health advocate with a master's degree in mind-body medicine, she has spent the last 20 years passionately exploring the research gap that exists between what medical science believes and what the gifted sensitive feels. She provides an enlightening ride through early to now-emerging science on sensitivity and the abilities of the highly sensitive. I invited Courtney Marchesani to join me on this podcast to talk more about the highly sensitive person and to explore how it relates to PCOS. Courtney specializes in the often-hidden mental health and emotional struggles of Highly Sensitive People (HSP). HSP's were first written about by Dr. Elaine Aron in her book The Highly Sensitive Person. Often overwhelmed by the intensity and stimulation from the world, HSP's make up roughly 15 to 20% of the population. She won the Hay House 2017 Writer's Workshop Book Contest with her proposal Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive which identifies four specific archetypes of the highly sensitive person. Listen in (or read the transcript below) as we discuss: - Definition & characteristics of the Highly Sensitive Person - How PCOS, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, gastrointestinal disorders, and fascia tension present in the HSP - How inflammation, which is one of the root factors of PCOS, is actually adding to the sensitivity - Tips and tricks to thrive as an HSP - The gifts of being sensitive
Every individual carries a level of intuition. In fact, it can even be measured scientifically. But how can your intuition, or sensitivity and such, play a role in your life? In this episode of The Fit Mess, Courtney Marchesani talks about the book she authored entitled Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive, the four types of highly sensitive people, how sensitives can channel their sensitivity, and as well as the uncanny story of how she discovered her intuitiveness. Before and after the interview, Zach and Jeremy also talk about the value of listening to one's inner voice and how always powering through life isn't always going to power you through. There is a ton of value about sensitivity and what it can mean to you in this episode of The Fit Mess with Courtney Marchesani! A Hundred People and a Japanese Puzzle When Courtney was asked whether high-sensitivity can be developed consciously or not, she brought up a study conducted by Dr. Garry Nolan of Stanford Institute to highlight an idea. Every human being has intuition, but to what level for every individual is what differs. In the study, Dr. Nolan gathered one hundred participants to engage with a Japanese Puzzle as his small sample. These individuals weren't just picked randomly. The test participants were considered ‘high performers' in their field, be it in business, health care, labor, and so forth. After the test, participants were examined through MRI Machines to look at their neuro-anatomy. When the scan was completed, the images of the participants' brains showed a different appearance compared to the average brain. These results produced more potential when the brain scans of the participants were compared to those of their family members' and revealed a similar appearance in brain neuro-anatomy. For Courtney, this hypothesis is a slice into how an individual's thinking process, sensitivity, and patterns can be genetically pre-disposed. Find out about The Four Types of Highly Sensitive People from Courtney Marchesani in this episode of The Fit Mess! About Courtney Marchesani: Courtney Marchesani is the author of Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive and developer of the Highly Sensitive Gifts Test. Named as the 2017 Hay House Writer's Workshop Award winner, her insights into sensitivity help readers identify their gifts of intuition, empathy, vision, and expression to maximize their potential, while also learning how former trauma may have shaped them. Show Notes Sometimes really good things occur totally un-planned and today's show is one of those times. Serendipity!!! Truth is, only this morning I had a very last-minute cancelation with my guest today. So as I was planning a “solo-sode” on the Craft of Creativity, I happened to receive a text early this morning from Courtney Marchesani about an unrelated issue and lo and behold, here she is joining me in to discuss creativity—as it happens one of her favorite topics. How often have you heard, You're being too sensitive? Courtney Marchesani knew that expression all too well, but she knew that the issue wasn't her sensitivity, but the lack of understanding around it. In her book, The Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive, she looks at the science behind what it means to be sensitive and reveals how it is actually a sort of superpower. This was a conversation I absolutely loved, as I too dealt with the shame of thinking something was wrong with me for being too emotional and as a result tried to turn off my feelings. If you have been there, then you know, you can't pick which feelings you shut down. The minute you try to numb yourself to one thing, you end up shutting down the whole system, which for me felt empty and disconnected. I learned through yoga and meditation how to feel into myself beyond my thoughts and connect to my senses, helping to make my sensitivity a tool that I could use to better understand my needs and boundaries. I truly enjoyed reading Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive and highly recommend it, as you will find more than just the way of sensitivity, Courtney also gives you practical tools to help make the most of the emotional adventures of self-awareness.

Sensitives...if you are feeling marginalized or anxious, out-of-sync with the mainstream world, overwhelmed by outside stimulation, or that your gifts are undervalued by society and your peers, then Courtney Marchesani is your champion! In her extraordinary new book from Hay House, Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive: Embrace the Science of Sensitivity, Heal Anxiety and Relationships, and Connect Deeply With Your World, Marchesani de-stigmatizes the term "sensitive," illustrating how "sensitivity" is a powerful advantage, and provides a pathway to an effective balancing act between being highly aware and participating fully in the world without feeling the need to shut down or self-anesthetize to avoid pain, people or environmental stimulation. Marchesani first became aware of her own gifts when her intuition prevented a fire in a Seattle brownstone. A "raw gut feeling" made her insist she and a friend return to the friend's apartment just in time to find a candle about to alight a bamboo shade. With interpretation of what this means for you today! Courtney paints a clear picture of how to claim your "specialness," for yourself and the good of mankind. But also how to live with and adapt for your tendencies, so that you can embrace them and thrive at peak quality of life. The most illuminating aspect of the book is her analysis of the four types of highly sensitive people-the four gifts: Sensitive-empaths (feeling others, sensing physical responses, attuning to environmental stimuli, animals, plants and others) Sensitive-intuitives (acquiring knowledge through higher consciousness) Sensitive-visionaries (perceiving or constructing a future though inner vision) Sensitive-expressives (expressing emotions and perceptions through artistic endeavors on any medium or performance platform) Having worked with hundreds of "sensitive" clients and patients, she has clearly delineated the strengths and the drawbacks of having each of these types of gifts. She sites case histories from her experience and also denotes famous sensitives within each of these categories of distinction. More importantly, Courtney provides specific strategies for playing up your strengths and limiting, countering, overcoming or effectively transforming the "perceived" drawbacks. The second half of the Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive provides an array of exercises and strategies for each of the specific sensitive-types to adapt in a world that may cause sensory overload. For years, sensitives have lived with the fear of being perceived crazy, hiding their gifts, withdrawing from the world or just shutting down emotionally to avoid judgement by others, anticipation of pain, or sensory overwhelm. With Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive the shame is lifted. Hope is restored. The highly sensitive can be returned to the rightful place as real superheroes in the cosmic sense. And Courtney, of course, indicates that all of us have these abilities, but the highly sensitive currently have them to a higher degree-whether conscious of them or not! The guest discusses areas of the world where they may have less mental illness issues. Courtney also discusses why medication may dull the spirit. She gives you great insight into the indigenous cultures and why their spirit may be so contained compared to western civilizations. What is the aboriginal's dreamtime or trance state? Judi agrees that she too is, as she introduces today's guest: Courtney Marchesani. The three talk about the stigma of being sensitive and Courtney goes on how she chooses to see being sensitive as a positive. Using studies to support her beliefs, she explains how being sensitive can be a beneficial and positive trait instead. She explains about how medical professionals and school teachers are starting to become more aware about sensitivity, but there is still a lot more to learn and embrace. Sensitivity is a powerful ability to be able to feel more complex emotions to achieve more intuity and other abilities. Courtney explains why she wanted to write her book to help people with their own individual journey to understanding their sensibility and ownself. Courtney then goes on to explain in depth the four different types of sensitivity: intuition, empaths, visionaries, and expressives.Segment 2Coming back from break, our hosts share their MBTI personality test results and their initial reactions to their results. Courtney explains the types of sensitivities in more depth as she gives examples to help the audience understand what makes each type so unique from each other. The three talk about how their religious beliefs and personal trauma and fears relate to their type of sensitivity. Courtney uses research studies that help us understand the science behind how there are psychological changes that showed how people seemed to become more intuitive through trauma and intergenerational experiences in families. The three discuss scientific discoveries overtime has shown how our genes can be changed by trauma and show how our understanding of ourselves inside and out will continue to change and grow over time.Segment 3Coming back, Courtney explains how attachment to parents as children can make the children more sensitive and intuitive. The amount of attention parents give to a child and how present they are, can greatly affect a child's sensitivity. It can be considered a form of trauma if children aren't receiving enough attention, as they are going to be constantly searching for some sort of attachment. Courtney explains what people who are sensitive should do. They should figure out their own energy before trying to understand others' energy. The people that someone surrounds themselves with can greatly influence their energy in both negative and positive ways. After figuring yourself out, that is when you can begin to self love and work on yourself to become more resilient. Courtney describes what sensitive vision is and how it can go beyond the physical. They end this segment with a breathing exercise that helps calm anxiety and negative emotions.Segment 4They start the last segment talking about paranormal activity. She explains the misconceptions that come with the word “paranormal” and explains how these activities don't necessarily have to be like the extreme and scary ghost stories and movies. Our hosts share an out of body experience they have had and Courtney explains what had happened in the moment. Courtney shares with the audience where they can find her book, Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive, and connect and keep up with her on her website where people can take a test to see what type of sensitive they are. Courtney is available for consulting and teaches courses as well. Tonight's episode ends in a special prayer.
