How can homeopathy help sensitive people, or is the question can sensitive people use homeopathy and are there different ways of prescribing homeopathy to people who are sensitive? All of these points are discussed in this frank conversation with Murat Basaran who joins Mary to explain what it is that make homeopathy different and how we can work with individualised remedies to help people get the remedies they need in a potency that suits them. Guess what.  There is not one answer here - but we do our best to explain the considerations that take place when looking at finding the right remedy. The questions we cover in this episode include: What it means to be a 'sensitive person' from a homeopathic perspective?  "Homeopathy is known for its individualized approach to care. How does the process of prescribing for a sensitive person differ from prescribing for someone who may not be as sensitive?" "One of the core ideas in homeopathy is that our bodies give us feedback after taking a remedy. How can sensitive people become more attuned to the subtle responses of their bodies after taking a homeopathic remedy?" "Mainstream medicine often takes a 'one-size-fits-all' approach, but homeopathy is so different. Can you help listeners understand the considerations when prescribing homeopathy?" "For those who are particularly sensitive, how do you begin with homeopathy? Are there special considerations that listeners should be aware of?" "There's often a misconception that homeopathy is 'too gentle' to have significant effects. But sensitive people can sometimes have strong responses to even the smallest doses. What do these reactions mean?" "Listening deeply to one's own body can feel unfamiliar to people used to the quick-fix model of mainstream medicine. What advice do you have for listeners who want to become better at noticing and interpreting their body's subtle signals?" "If someone listening is a sensitive person and is curious about homeopathy, what would you recommend as their first steps for finding a practitioner and beginning their own healing journey?" 176  When things are feeling less connected, loving and supportive in your relationship than you want them to as a highly sensitive person, there is an excellent chance a lot of it is coming from chronic dysregulation and emotional overload. In other words, stress.  As Hsps, it is hard to NOT feel overstimulated or stressed in our modern lives. I've recently shared a fair amount about how this leads to nervous system and emotional dysregulation. Which is, honestly, terrible for relationship health! But it is a lot more than the outer world that creates this dysregulation and stress. In this episode I dive into the huge thing that tends to create this internal overstimulation– in other words, how we dysregulated ourselves from the inside out! It's important to SEE this, and how you do it. In this episode I will give you a great starting place. I also share how to stop this internal dysregulation so you can feel peaceful, and be able to give and receive the deepest love, and have the best marriage.I honestly think, without understanding what I share in this episode, it will be 1000 times harder to be alive and to be married as a sensitive person (it sure was for me!). In this episode of The Sensitive and Neurodivergent Podcast, I explore why so many sensitive individuals, particularly women and those assigned female at birth (AFAB), are discovering their autism later in life. Together, we'll tackle the misconception that autism is a “fad”—an idea that suggests people are falsely claiming to be autistic as part of a trend. I'll explain why this view is not only wrong but harmful and how greater awareness is helping people recognize traits that were overlooked for decades. I'll also answer a listener's question about whether heightened empathy is compatible with being autistic and challenge the myth that autistic people lack empathy. We'll discuss the concept of “masking,” or hiding autistic traits to fit into societal expectations, and how this often leads to anxiety, burnout, and chronic health issues. Plus, I'll share 14 common traits of autistic adults and explore how understanding autism can transform self-compassion, reduce self-criticism, and improve overall well-being. Empathy is so much more than feeling deeply -It holds a transformative power to heal ourselves, strengthen our relationships, and amplify our purpose. Judith Orloff, MD, author of the new book, 'The Genius of Empathy: Practical Skills to Heal Your Sensitive Self, Your Relationships and the World', will take you beyond the typical definition of empathy to show you how to empathize without over-giving or burning out. Drawing on insights from neuroscience, psychology, and energy medicine, Dr. Orloff will discuss how to access your sensitivities, soothe your nervous system, and stop absorbing the emotions of others. She'll also discuss the importance of empathic listening, setting healthy boundaries and loving detachment (especially with toxic relationships) to prevent overwhelm. All of us can learn to be more empathic - its genius is highly attainable. It's a superpower that's within everyone's reach. Empathy requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. When we reach for our most admirable kindness within, we find a path out of misunderstanding and hate. Practicing empathy recalibrates us toward healthier ways of behaving and perceiving the world. Hellè Weston, the founder of Owaken Breathwork, channels a council of Arcturian beings and Archangels to give a message about the current evolution of humanity. We explore the concept of integrating light and information on the planet and the role of Oracles throughout history. Hellè Weston shares her personal journey of rejecting spiritual gifts and the impact it had on her well-being. They also discuss the connection with extraterrestrial beings in Egypt, as well as the power of sensitivity and the interplay between channeling and breathwork. Finally, this interview explores the purpose of the heart as a processing center for information and creativity. It delves into the shifting collective energy field of humanity's next evolution and the importance of truth and transparency in communication. Since she was a kid, Hellè has been seeking answers to big questions like “Where did we come from?” and “Why are we here?”. As a highly sensitive person, for most of her life, she didn't have the tools to process the intensity of my feelings so I lived in an over-stimulated, overwhelmed, stressed-out state for decades. She didn't want to live her life feeling sick, exhausted, drained, sad and insecure. She wanted to thrive, do something meaningful and exciting with my life, and leave this world a better place. In her journey, she's found a unique combination of deep Intuitive coaching, Owaken Breathwork, Channeling, and Energy Medicine to help you get crystal clear and have the tools, practices, and a new level of awareness that will positively impact you for the rest of your life. ___________________ PODCAST CHAPTERS 00:00 - Hellè Weston Intro 02:35 - Integration of Light and Information on the Planet 08:31 - The Role of Oracles Throughout History 11:22 - The Impact of Rejecting Spiritual Gifts 19:38 - Connecting with Extraterrestrial Beings in Egypt 23:03 - Narrowing Down the True Form of Interdimensional Beings 28:18 - Sensitive Leadership and the Power of Sensitivity 32:36 - The Two Distinctions of Sensitive People 37:54 - The Interplay Between Channeling and Breathwork 41:27 - The Importance of Calling in Spirit Guides in Breathwork 49:21 - Receiving and Reconciling the Human and Divine Aspects 57:47 - Living and Leading with Reverence and Humility 58:32 - Channeling a Archangel Collective & Arcturian Council 59:54 - The Purpose of the Heart 1:03:44 - Shifting Collective Energy Field 1:09:23 - Galactic and Interdimensional Beings in Humanity's Origin Story 1:18:37 - Arriving in Present Moment Awareness 1:22:59 - Learning from Past Civilizations 1:30:39 - The Role of the Next Generations ___________________ Guest: Hellè Weston, Intuitive Guide, Breathwork Coach, Channeler Website | https://www.helleweston.com/ Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/helle_weston YouTube |  @owakenbreathwork  Owaken Breathwork | https://www.owaken.com/ Work 1:1 with Hellè | https://www.helleweston.com/work-with-me Host: Emilio Ortiz Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/iamemilioortiz/ Subscribe to YouTube Channel |  @EmilioOrtiz  Watch Emilio's latest series on 4biddenknowledge TV l https://bit.ly/AwakenThe6thSense Shop Our Clothing Collection l https://www.unlockedmovement.com/collections/justtapin ___________________ Special Offerings to Support the Show: ✦ Make a One-Time or Recurring Donation on PayPal

Susie got to visit her favorite tourist trap in Boston (where everyone knows her name!), but had to do so the old-fashioned way since her family's phones malfunctioned. Let's just say, if the bad guys ever take down our country's phone service we're all screwed. We learn why some people are wearing noise-cancelling headphones for a majority of their day, and why it might be bad for their mental health. And Susie preaches to Gen Z again about why they need to toughen up, but it turns out Sarah might be on their side since she wraps herself in a sleep cocoon because it's soothing. We learn the history of Dr. Brommer, the quirky castile soap creator, and why he succeeded in business, but not in life. We debate whether Crime Con is a harmless community of true crime enthusiasts or a re-victimizing event that profits off of pain. Susie watched a wild documentary about a small town in the Australian outback that is the center of a murder mystery. Plus, we hear the amazing efforts the National Archives takes to preserve documents and our history.Join our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Cancel your unwanted subscriptions – and manage your money the easy way – by going to https://rocketmoney.com/braincandyVisit https://www.carawayhome.com/braincandy to take advantage of this limited-time offer for 10% off your next purchase! This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. I've been wondering why my money program works so well when many courses I took were taught by good people and had good content but didn't work. This line of contemplation led me to the question I and others have: How come it's the spiritual people?  How come it's the sensitive people?  Why are the empaths, the healers, and the people just trying to save animals and the planet and help others are almost always broke?  Why is it that segment of the population struggling so hard but can't figure out money, can't bring it in, can't hold it when it does come in, actively doesn't like it, and actively pushes against money? Some even hate it, and start labeling everything to do with money, marketing, and sales is horrifically evil.  What is it about this population that makes that happen? I hypothesize it's the inability to tolerate the physicality of being here.

As I know from personal experience, it can really feel like a divisive wedge between you.And if you are anything like most of the highly sensitive women I work with, you'd love for that defensiveness to just disappear–so you can communicate so much better about important things and feel like a team in life together. So let's talk about how to handle it when your partner tends towards being defensive. Because it is very possible to help curb this tendency of your partners', make it have less impact, and even eliminate it from your marriage entirely. In this episode we look at what defensiveness is, why it happens, what might be triggering it, and lay a groundwork of understanding about it so you can be set up to prevent it from hurting your marriage. We then dive into the 7 steps you can take to help interrupt and dissolve this pattern in your spouse and relationship–and even get him on board in doing so.Even if being defensive is an old tendency of your partner's from childhood, you still have sway over how much it shows up and interferes in your marriage's wellbeing.Listen in today to learn how, and start the flow of communication that connects instead of divides.SHOW NOTES:Want more connection?  Grab Hannah's 7 Most Powerful Phrases To Deepen Connection In Your Marriage For HSPs HERE.

Tessa Tovar chats with Steven Washington on his story of going from Broadway dancer to Qigong and Pilates teacher and how rock bottom is different for everyone. A touching episode covering tips on breath work during triggers and what it means to be ready for help. Steven Washington is the author of Recovering You; Soul Care and Mindful Movement for Overcoming Addiction. As a former professional dancer who performed on Broadway in Disney's The Lion King, his love of movement inspired him to become the highly acclaimed Qigong and Pilates teacher that he is today. Steven lives a joyful life of recovery and is passionate about helping others as they navigate towards health and happiness. Triggers take awareness of your own body, energy and nervous system. Qigong and pilates both focus on breath which is integral in regulating emotion; the movements require attention to detail which helps ground us in the present moment. It takes time to identify how you feel when triggered and develop tools to react accordingly.2. It's never too late to reach out to someone who could help you during a lapse. A lapse is a cry out to yourself, by yourself. Even in a lapse, if you are thinking, "I do not want to do this," even that is progress! What do you tell the people you call? The truth. Call someone who has your best interest at heart, not everyone is meant to hold space for you and receive that call.3. Many of our addictive behaviors come from our childhood. It is important to revisit those memories with someone who is qualified and skillful at navigating our experiences. Early traumas happen during vital brain development which is going to impact our thoughts and behavior patterns.4. Everyone's rock bottom is different. It's natural to say, "Maybe I'm not as bad as I thought," when you compare yourself to others who may have drastically worse cases than yours. It doesn't have to get to jail, institutions and death. Stevens' rock bottom was looking in the mirror and not recognizing who he saw and feeling shame about his behavior. In this episode I want sensitive people to hear how an HSP…highly sensitive person…curates their life to find more peace and wholeness. I was highly interested in this, as I'm new to understanding, I'm an HSP, and I'm working to reorient my life, with grace, to help me be more at peace, and from this, be more at peace with others and the world around me. ⁣ ⁣ I'm back with Andre Sólo, the force behind Sensitive Refuge, the world's largest website for sensitive people, and the co-author of "Sensitive: The Hidden Power of the Highly Sensitive Person in a Loud, Fast, Too-Much World." Andre is an author, researcher, and speaker, and a recognized expert and passionate advocate for sensitive people.⁣ ⁣ Here we walk through his Values & Habits and as you'll hear, most are configured to support Andre's sensitivities. Remember from our first talk together in the May 17 episode, Sensitive does not mean fragile, or delicate. Sensitive means; quick to detect or respond to slight changes, signals, or influences. And that means externally and internally. ⁣ ⁣ Spiritually Andre finds more sensitive people crave meaning from life and may be more prone to pursuits of spirituality. Similarly, they seek out deep, meaningful relationships, and Andre attests to this for himself. And while we didn't discuss it, I'm betting more sensitive people have fewer, but deeper relationships than the norm. I'll have to ask him about that. Regarding health and wellness Andre said he doesn't live up to his own values here, but seeks out Whole Foods and practices yoga. He admits he's an emotional eater. Regarding mental health he of course guards against overstimulation. This is a big aspect I'm getting from this topic, as I've always struggled with overstimulation but just gritted my teeth and figured it's my problem. While I'm not taking the concept to opt out of everything, I am more in mind to budget how much and giving myself recovery time. This and more in the episode. ⁣ ⁣ June 15-16 of 2023 I'll be in Dallas to attend and speak at the Ziglar coach summit. I was born in Moscow, USSR (currently Russia), and spent my childhood in Johannesburg, South Africa. At the age of 7, I returned to Moscow and lived there until I was 20. At 17, I was accepted to the Moscow State Academy of Law – the top Law School in the country. When I was 20, I dropped out and moved to London to work as a project management analyst for Clifford Chance. A year later I decided to return home and joined Adidas as an Executive Assistant to the General Manager of Adidas in Russia. Shortly after my return to Moscow I went back to Law school and graduated three years later. From 2012 until 2018 I dedicated my time to becoming a great corporate lawyer as I worked for Abbott Labs and Eli Lilly.  I became an experienced corporate warrior and met great people, but all that time I was yearning for more. Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs it only felt natural to become one, so in 2018 with the help of my husband, I started my first business and a few months later my second business which became my first success story. In 2020 I moved to the US; one week before Covid. I worked hard to manage my business through covid, but two years later I realized that it no longer serves my purpose and I decided to close the business. Immigration and covid became points of substantial personal growth.  I got an opportunity to slow down, rethink my path and start doing something that has always been so important to me – serving people. Over the last 1,5 years, I've been training extensively to finally call myself a trauma-informed wellness coach for highly sensitive people (HSP). My journey to becoming a coach and breathwork practitioner began with my own struggles as a highly sensitive person. Back then, I did not know that I was an HSP and battled with severe anxiety, panic attacks, and fatigue, thinking that something was profoundly wrong with my health. Going to public places and network events throughout my corporate career was a disaster. Despite my confident appearance, I could not shake off feeling overwhelmed in social situations. I was anxious and permanently tired. Burnout became my best friend. Only after I discovered the concept of highly sensitive people, and everything started to make sense. I finally understood why I had been struggling for so long. Along the way, I discovered the power of breathwork to help us release stuck emotions, clear our minds, and connect with our inner selves. I realized I wanted to share this practice with others. Through my personal experience, I felt called to help highly sensitive people navigate their journeys with greater ease and understanding. That's why I became a certified coach and breathwork practitioner specializing in working with highly sensitive people. Being highly sensitive is a gift. I am passionate about helping my clients understand their highly sensitive trait and how to use it as a strength rather than a weakness. I help them develop tools to manage overwhelm, anxiety, and stress and learn to honor their needs and boundaries. Through breathwork, I guide them to connect with their inner wisdom and intuition, allowing them to tap into their unique gifts and live more fulfilling lives. I think anyone who's listening to the podcast might benefit from it. if you're feeling anxious, or if you feel like you want to focus. But you just cannot stop doing things and you need to concentrate. A good method to ground yourself would be just to sit straight and feel the support underneath like feel the chair. See if there is any tension, tension in your belly. If there is just relax it. Just make sure that you're sitting upright, and just relax Relax the shoulders and relax the jaw. I feel really honored to introduce you to my friend, Courtney! She's one of my favorite people and we're actually going to talk about a really hard topic…grief. Grief can be a really difficult conversation for many people, especially because learning how to navigate grief and tragedy is such an emotional process. And while Courtney hasn't navigated a cancer diagnosis, her oldest child passed away unexpectedly, and I know you'll find so much value and appreciation for her honesty and transparency. Plus, even though everyone's grieving process is so personal and unique, she gives some really practical suggestions and ideas to help you or your loved one navigate something so overwhelming and life-alternating. I pray that this conversation is as life-giving to you as it was to me! And what I might have once seen as a quirk before I now know is just part of being me and embracing all that encompasses. For me, that means being a highly sensitive person, and there's such a freedom and no longer apologizing for what makes you feel different and instead celebrating it within yourself. In listening to this episode, I hope you too walk away feeling empowered to love and celebrate yourself exactly as you are today, even while making progress in the direction of your dreams!

Today it is such an honour to be joined by Dr. Judith Orloff for the final episode of Season 10. Dr Orloff is the New York Times bestselling author of The Empath's Survival Guide: Life Strategies for Sensitive People. Her new book, Thriving as an Empath, along with it's companion, The Empath's Empowerment Journal offers daily self care tools for sensitive people. Dr. Orloff is a psychiatrist, an empath and is on the UCLA psychiatric clinical faculty. She synthesises the pearls of traditional medicine with cutting edge knowledge of intuition, energy and spirituality. Dr. Orloff also specialises in treating empaths and highly sensitive people in her private practice. As a highly sensitive person myself, I related to this book and all her work massively and have returned to it since first reading it. If you find yourself being sensitive to other people's feelings, absorbing the pain of others, and many other traits of empaths which will go on to further, then Dr. Orloff is someone you should check out and recommend to anyone you know who also struggles with sensitivity. For many years I thought it was a huge nuisance being sensitive but Dr. Orloff shows you that you can manage being sensitive better and help you to thrive with it too.
