I'm very excited to be BACK with my amazing guest, Erin Burns, for today's part 2 episode! If you haven't listened to part 1 from last week, make sure you do that first, and then come back to this one.In today's conversation, Erin and I discuss how thoughts like shame and guilt can get you stuck in a vicious cycle of ‘suck', and how anxiety comes into play. Years ago, anxiety wasn't something that people typically dealt with, but now...it's everywhere! Getting to the ‘root' of your anxiety and really understanding why you're experiencing it is so, SO important. Using tools like the Internal Family Systems (IFS) and the 8 Cs (which Erin explains thoroughly), can greatly help, as well as getting crystal clear on what your core self wants as you create habits on our fitness journeys. We also dive into how self-sabotage shows up, why exercise like weightlifting and boxing can leave you feeling powerful (both mentally AND physically), taking up MORE space as women, and more. When you can get really honest with yourself, choose to self-reflect, and take more of a compassionate approach to your fitness, you WILL transform your life. Both of these episodes with Erin were PHENOMENAL, and I know you're going to resonate with them so much!!Erin Burns is an Illinois-based licensed clinical professional counselor; we connected on Instagram awhile ago, and she's also a regular listener of my podcast. Erin specializes in treating patients with a variety of mental issues. Her passion is founded in working with those who are hoping to reach a deeper sense of fulfillment in life, whether that be through processing previous traumas, finding joy in life again, or rediscovering who they are as individuals. She opened her practice, Sol Healing PLLC, in July 2024, and is currently accepting new clients in-person and virtually. In today's episode, we cover:How our never-ending thoughts of shame & guilt lead to anxiety + us getting stuck in a cycle of ‘suck'How the Internal Family Systems (IFS) impacts us + the role of the 8 CsGetting crystal clear on what you/your core self wants so you can create and establish habits on your fitness journeyWhy we continue to self-sabotage + getting brutally honest with ourselves as we navigate new/different seasonsHow exercise (like weightlifting or boxing) can be an impactful way to work through traumatic and/or negative life experiencesLinks/Resources:Follow Erin on Instagram @sol_healing_pllcLearn more about working with Erin by visiting her websiteJoin FIT CLUB, my monthly membership with workouts you can do at home or the gymPRIVATE COACHING is my 1:1 program (choose 3 or 6 month option)Connect with me on Instagram @kristycastillofit and @unfuckyourfitnesspodcast so we can keep this conversation going-be sure to tag me in your posts and stories!Join my FREE Facebook group, Unf*ck Your FitnessClick HERE for my favorite fitness & life things!

Parsing The Hottest CBD Trend Topping the list of the biggest pet trends is the use of CBD, a bi-product of marijuana. Dozens of new CBD products have begun popping up. Some might not be so good for your pet and may actually contain arsenic. Dr. Debbie and Lori Brooks explore the pros and cons before you make an informed decision. Listen Now Emotional Support Alligator at New Orleans Airport It's not uncommon to see dogs or cats being used at major airports as a de-stressor. When you step off a plane in New Orleans, you'll meet an alligator. While these alligators aren't necessarily intended to provide emotional support, they are ready to take a selfie and be petted. Director of Communications at the airport, Erin Burns joins us to explain this unique partnership with the Audubon society. Listen Now Women Sleep Better With Dogs Than Humans There's a new study out that shows women sleep better next to dogs than their human partners. 55% shared the bed with at least one dog and 31% shared their bed with at least one cat. Researchers found dogs were less likely to wake their owners in the middle of the night than humans, who were equally disruptive to women's sleep and didn't provide the feelings of comfort and security that dogs do. Listen Now Are Kennel Dryers Bad? If you go to a groomer, you might be very familiar with kennel dryers, used to finish your pet's coat after a grooming. After several tragic accidents, many have become frightened of putting their animal inside the dryer. Dogfather Joey Villani addresses this problem head-on, saying there is nothing inherently wrong with these machines - and instead blaming bad groomers. Listen Now Read more about this week's show.

Hospice Audit SeriesAudits are a fact of life for hospices—it's not a matter of “if” a hospice will be audited, but “when.” The alphabet soup of audits has expanded, from UPICs to SMRCs, CPIs, TPEs and more. With the hospice carve-in to Medicare Advantage, MAO audits will join the list. The recent pause in audits as a result of the COVID pandemic hints at increased activity as the pandemic wanes. In this series, Meg Pekarske and Bryan Nowicki of Husch Blackwell's Hospice Audit team deconstruct the most recent developments in hospice audits, providing insight and guidance on the why, when and how of audits and—most importantly—what hospices can do about it.Today's Episode: Beyond Part D, OIG Scrutinizes the Hospice Industry to the Tune of $6.6 BillionIn a follow-up to its recent reports on billing outside the hospice benefit for drugs and durable medical equipment (DME), the Office of Inspector General's (OIG) new data report identifies billions being billed to Medicare Part A and B for hospice patients. What lies behind the headline? In this episode, Husch Blackwell's Meg Pekarske, Andrew Brenton and Erin Burns unpack the OIG's analysis and its critical shortcomings. They throw in some food for thought on what changes the industry might expect in light of the growing concerns related to the unbundling of care.

Prior to the end of 2019, the US government had devoted a miniscule $11.5M to direct air capture initiatives. But the tide is changing on the Hill. The Department of Energy (DOE) recently received its first ever dedicated carbon removal funding, and there are a number of bills in Congress promoting the advancement of negative-emissions technology. Erin Burns is the Director of Policy and Ugbaad Kosar is the Senior Policy Advisor at Carbon180, a climate-focused NGO that partners with policymakers, scientists and businesses to advance solutions that transform carbon from a liability to an asset. On this episode of Carbon Removal Newsroom, Erin and Ugbaad join Ross to discuss the policy proposals involving carbon removal currently making their way through Congress. Erin and Ugbaad walk us through the CLEAN Future Act, explaining what makes the bill important and what differentiates it from other climate legislation. They also address the House Republican climate package (which includes an extension of 45Q) and the SEA FUEL Act, a bill funding carbon capture by way of military vehicles. In our Christmas Bumper Special and last show before Christmas, Andrew is down in the big smoke meeting with Lisa Kalal, who looks after clients at CME group mainly looking after hedgers, and Erin Burns, who heads up the commodity risk team at Tesco. They can't help but talk about agriculture post-Brexit and, with Erin and Lisa being Australian and American respectively, we get a slightly different perspective on deals, no-deals and referendums. We also get their take on women in agriculture and how important it could be to talk to your daughters about the markets to encourage more fantastic women in to the trading industry. Finally we hear about how their Christmases will be shaping up and Andrew tells us about his secret Santa. The Dewing Grain market report for the week commencing 17/12/2018 gives Andrew’s latest insights into the markets. In Farmchat, renamed Santa Banter this week following a listener suggestion, Josh and Andrew discuss the Christmas bourse where lots of traders and merchants meet for a catch up over a few drinks and where the podcast was a big subject of conversation this year. They sample a couple of beers from Andrew's beer advent calendar - a Norwegian beer that Josh can't pronounce and Boundary American Pale Ale for Andrew. We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Baker and Larner's hamper is Mark Thompson - known on Twitter as 'anorfolkfarmer' - how very appropriate!
