This week we go inside the minds of the competitors for the F1 World Championship.  We explain some of the things that happened during an intense Las Vegas GP weekend – including the dramatic double disqualification of the McLaren cars that sets up an incredibly tense final two rounds for the World Championship And we look ahead in depth to what happens next. We focus particularly on two areas: which teams will have the best car for the Qatar and Abu Dhabi circuits? And with so much pressure riding on it, what is the mental game here? How do the drivers and their trainers cope with the 11 hour time difference from Vegas to Qatar so they can maintain peak performance? How do they cope with the stress and the pressure? And with McLaren making such a costly mistake in Vegas, how do the leaders make sure the team doesn't lose confidence? With James Allen in the studio to discuss this we have two real subject matter experts. Nick Harris, who trained and mentored many great drivers in the past 20 years from Mark Webber, David Coulthard and Eddie Irvine to Fernando Alonso and Nico Hulkenberg.  And Autosport's F1 writer who can demystify the technical side, Jake Boxhall Legge.  Send your comments or questions to: @jamesallenonf1 on X or jamesallenonf1@autosport.com. In F1 the numbers never lie; whether it's zeros on a paycheck, thousandths of a second on a stopwatch or points of downforce on a new front wing. A new F1 documentary film launches next week that brilliantly shows both the raw emotional journey and the lived experience of an F1 driver. It covers Damon Hill's life from when his idyllic childhood was shattered after his World Champion father Graham Hill died in a place crash to finally winning the F1 World Championship in 1996. It's a story laced with good and bad luck and a burning desire to put right what had gone wrong when his father died. What marks out this film is the rawness of the emotion in the storytelling, particularly from Damon and his wife Georgie. F1 drivers make good subjects because they are so extreme; extraordinary people who do extraordinary things. The timing is perfect as F1 the Movie hits cinemas this week, telling an underdog story. Damon was a real-life F1 underdog. So what is it really like to lose everything, but come through to triumph? And why did he feel Williams were never really behind him in his title quest? Damon Hill joins James Allen to discuss the film, along with Sky Sports F1 presenter Simon Lazenby, whose production company Sylverent brought the project to life. And joining them is Autosport's Editor in Chief Kevin Turner. “Hill” debuts 2 July on Sky Documentaries. Round Two of the F1 World Championship took us to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia and while it was a familiar winner,  for most,  there was an all new face in scarlet red. This week On The Gravel a potential return to Turkey is discussed, Saudi Arabia's huge plans for a new F1 circuit in the coming years, as well as one more conversation over the delusion of Christian Horner. The race weekend brought a surprise debutant from the Ferrari Driver Academy in Oliver Bearman as Carlos Sainz was diagnosed and treated for appendicitis. A race of many parts, seeing the potential of Bearman showcased, a strategic masterclass from Haas, and some good battles between the Mercedes and McLarens gave us a nice race under lights. Concluding with our F2, IndyCar and MotoGP talk for the week, we hope you enjoyed this week in racing as much as we did!

Max Verstappen won the Australian Grand Prix for the first time to extend his F1 World Championship lead to 15 points. But it wasn't as straightforward as many of his previous victories. The Dutchman overcame battles with Mercedes, safety cars and three red flags. Tom Clarkson and Damon Hill are joined by Australia's Network 10 TV team to dissect all the drama from an action-packed race in Melbourne. After a disappointing Saturday, Sergio Perez produced a monster drive from the pitlane to come fifth and stay in touch with his teammate in the driver standings. Alfa Romeo's Zhou Guanyu shares his delight at scoring points for the first time this season after finishing ninth. Oscar Piastri's manager Mark Webber and McLaren CEO Zak Brown reflect on a memorable home race for Oscar, who scored his first ever points in Formula 1. There were mixed fortunes for Mercedes, with George Russell suffering a power unit failure and an elated Lewis Hamilton holding off Fernando Alonso to claim second place. Will that be the springboard for a turnaround in the team's season? And it was another bad day at the office for Ferrari. Charles LecLerc went into the gravel on turn one for his second DNF of the season and Carlos Sainz failed to score points after receiving a 5-second penalty for spinning Alonso in a chaotic restart at the end of the race.
