Send us a textGreg is a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin (Madison) and has settled in Colorado after studying abroad and moving back to the states. Greg was able to buy his first house from an amazing program that enables teachers to buy a home for 50% of the listed price via the "Teacher Next Door Program". Greg and his wife enjoy frugal living and taking advantage of the amazing 457(b) that many teachers have access to. This will enable them to enjoy an early retirement. "Because teachers play a vital role in community revitalization, HUD provides a significant incentive through the Good Neighbor Next Door Program. This program offers eligible teachers the opportunity to purchase a home at a remarkable 50% discount off the list price. However, it's important to note that the availability of Good Neighbor Homes is extremely limited. While specific restrictions apply to this program, they do not affect other homes purchased through the Teacher Next Door Program, which offers additional benefits like grants and mortgage assistance to help teachers achieve homeownership."https://www.hud.gov/program_offices/housing/sfh/reo/goodn/gnndabotSHARE HOW FIT HAS IMPACTED YOU FOR EPISODE 200!https://forms.gle/RiqfrUzZJsMVJQ8T8Be a guest on the show:https://www.financiallyindependentteachers.com/contact-8Check out our website:https://www.financiallyindependentteachers.com/Sign up for FIT coaching:https://www.financiallyindependentteachers.com/services-4MarketAboutA breakdown of listed companies' financials, news, trends and other.Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify

Thanks for joining us for another episode of Kick Point! First, our Tested This Week comes in the shape of Seed golf balls, a direct-to-consumer golf ball brand now available in the UK and US that claims to offer balls that perform as well as the big brands best balls for half the price. Joe has been out on the golf course and with his Trackman to put these claims to the test... Joe's explainer this week is something of a back to basics, but with a Kick Point twist, all about bounce. Joe talks through what bounce is, how we can use it to our advantage on course and asks why iron sets don't come with different bounce options. Finally, this week's What's In The Bag is Viktor Hovland. The Norwegian has had a tough year on Tour after winning the FedEx last year - has he made any drastic equipment changes to try and help him out? As always, fell free to get in touch with Dan and Joe by dropping an email to: kickpointpodcast@futurenet.com. We would love to hear your suggestions for reviews, player's bags to cover and golf gear terminology to debunk.

Despite feeling the brunt of the current economic climate, figures suggest the hospitality industry is seeing some growth. The Restaurant Association suggests that the industry saw $15 billion in annual sales, a growth of 5.8%. More Kiwis seem to be eating out, and one way they're doing so is with First Table, a scheme that gives consumers half price fares when dining at off-peak times. Founder and CEO Mat Weir told Mike Hosking that over half a million people have signed up on the website or app over the last decade. He said that some restaurants are doing well and others are struggling, and they're focused on helping restaurants solve a small part of their problems. "Your band could be massive without God." That's what John Cooper was once told. But the Skillet frontman unashamedly ignored that advice and has doubled down on sharing his views on God and theology (he once declared a 'war' on deconstruction). He talks to Sam Hailes about what it's like to be in a Christian band that's loved and adored by a largely non-Christian audience. In part two, Premier Christianity's assistant editor Emma Fowle meets the Bridgerton actor and activist Adjoa Andoh. The pair discuss Adjoa's journey to faith, and her view that the Church should be "the place where you can be a hot mess; you don't have to be fine. It's you and God." The interview also delves into John's groundbreaking research on the theology of friendship and its transformative potential for individuals with mental health challenges. With compelling stories of breaking down barriers and cultivating genuine friendships within church communities, John argues for a more inclusive and compassionate approach to mental health within the church. He also talks about the meaning behind Jesus' healing miracles, the current mental health crisis among young people, and how the church can offer support by creating communities where people are truly present and missed when they're not there. The phrase, "There's a sucker born every minute," is attributed to P.T. Barnum, but it could be about this episode: We're talking about con artists who swindled people into buying some really famous landmarks. George C. Parker sold the Brooklyn Bridge. Among Victor Lustig's most audacious scams was when he sold the Eiffel Tower. And a man known as Natwarlal made a name for himself selling the Taj Mahal among other famous landmarks in India. Let's look at what happened when each of these guys dipped a toe into real estate.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The pastor and best-selling author tells Megan Cornwell how he changed his mind on women in ministry, why he's ashamed of American evangelicals and what convinced him that gay relationships are ‘not God's best'. I am a communication coach who provides organisations with the tools to influence, persuade, and engage—whether through storytelling, presenting, or communicating within teams. A few years ago, I got in touch with Cisco Webex with suggestions on how they could improve their software. In time, I ended up working with Webex on a regular basis, and this collaboration, in turn, led me to design virtual training programmes for some of the firm's biggest clients. My masterclasses help organisations take dry, often technical information and render it clear, memorable, and engaging. I help clients like Cigna US, Samsung, Google, Cisco, Microsoft, GVC, Ofsted, McCann, Adam&Eve DDB, Virgin Media, Commerzbank, BBC, National Theatre, and Channel 4. I have been lucky enough to coach the world's best-selling professional speakers. According to London Speakers Bureau, the largest speaking agency in the world outside the United States, I coached their three best-selling speakers in Europe in 2018 and 2019; and I coached Red Whale, the winning team for Webinars That Rock 2019, essentially the Oscars of webinars. The award was for best webinar in the world, as judged by the event platform, ON24. Away from virtual land, I also work as a comedy playwright. My plays, including “Octopus Soup” (co-written with Mark Stevenson) and “The Mummy” have completed number-one tours nationally and internationally.
