Why did Jonah run from God's call—and what does that reveal about our own hearts? In this episode of Live Like It's True, Erika Van Haitsma joins me to unpack the irony and intensity of Jonah's story, exposing his deep resentment toward the Ninevites and resistance to God's mercy. Together, we explore how this familiar narrative challenges us to confront our own grudges and ask whether we truly want God to be gracious—to everyone.Judgy SeriesGuest: Erika Van HaitsmaBible Passage: Jonah's Disobedience - Jonah 1 (NASB)Get your Free Resource: 20 Page WorkbookRecommended Resources: Check out Erika's book, "Faith Walk; 50 Daily Devotionals" on Shannon's Amazon Storefront HEREJesus's Proof that We'll Get New Bodies in Heaven - Erika's Other Episode on Live Like It's TrueAstonishing Faith is Like a Puppy, Begging for a Crumb - Erika's Previous Episode on Live Like It's TrueThe Context and Color of the Bible PodcastResound Media Network: www.ResoundMedia.ccMusic: Cade PopkinErika is married to Bryan and together they have five children, whom she homeschools. What if faith isn't about pretending everything's fine—but about seeing what's truly real? In this message, we dive into the powerful truth of the story of Peter walking on water from Matthew 14. We learn that faith is the lens through which we glimpse God's presence, His promises, and our purpose. When life feels chaotic and uncertain, faith doesn't eliminate the storm—it helps us walk through it. In this message from Preaching Minister Gordon Dabbs, Ph.D., we uncover some powerful truths for our lives today. Jesus is calling—not for perfection, but for a step of trust. And if you start to sink? He'll catch you. Every time.Subscribe to PRESTONCREST - with Gordon Dabbs on Soundwise
Transforming Lives Bible Radio ShowHost: Bishop Dr. Virginia Singleton (Dr. V)Air Date: Tuesday, June 3, 2025Time: 8:00 PM ESTBroadcast Platform: Positive Power XXI Christian Media | Jerry Royce Live WorldwideEpisode Title: "God's Amazing Grace"Overview:In this spirit-filled episode, Bishop Dr. Virginia Singleton, Senior Pastor of the Divine Church of Deliverance in Florence, South Carolina, leads an in-depth teaching and reflection on the power, purpose, and presence of God's excellent Grace. Drawing on foundational scripture from 1 Corinthians 15:10 and John 1:17, Dr. V guides listeners through the theological, spiritual, and personal implications of living a life entirely dependent on Grace.Scripture Focus:1 Corinthians 15:10 (KJV)"But by the grace of God, I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain..."John 1:17 (KJV)"For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."Key Teaching Points:What is Grace?Grace is God's unmerited favor — not earned by works but freely given. It is the foundation of salvation, sanctification, justification, and reconciliation through Jesus Christ.Grace in Paul's Life (1 Corinthians 15:10):Paul emphasizes that all he accomplished was through God's Grace — not self-effort.Grace empowered him to labor and persevere beyond human strength.Grace vs. The Law (John 1:17):The Law reveals sin; Grace delivers from it.Jesus fulfilled what the Law could not: the offering of redemptive Grace.Three Dimensions of Grace:Saving Grace: Ephesians 2:8 – We are saved by grace through faith.Sustaining Grace: 2 Corinthians 12:9 – God's strength is made perfect in our weakness.Special/Spiritual Grace: Ephesians 4:7, 11–12 – Grace is distributed as a spiritual gift for the edification of the body of Christ.Gifts by Grace (1 Corinthians 12:8–10):Every spiritual gift is distributed by the Holy Spirit.Gifts such as wisdom, healing, prophecy, and discernment are evidence of God's Grace, not man's merit.Warning Against Abusing Grace (Hebrews 10:29):Rejecting Christ or returning to sinful ways after accepting salvation dishonors the Spirit of Grace.True transformation involves repentance and humility.God Gives More Grace (James 4:6):Despite failures or rebellion, God extends more Grace to the humble.Pride is resisted, but humility attracts divine favor.Ultimate Expression of Grace (John 3:16–17):Jesus is the apex of God's amazing Grace — sent not to condemn but to save. His sacrifice on the cross is the ultimate gift of Grace.Memorable Quotes:"It was Grace who was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane. It was Grace who was nailed to the cross. It was Grace that rose again — and that Grace is Jesus Christ." – Dr. V."You can't earn it, you can't buy it — grace is a gift that only God can give.""We all came through by the skin of our teeth, only because of God's amazing grace."Call to Action:Reflect: Are you living in the fullness of God's excellent Grace or trying to earn His approval through your own strength?Respond: If you've wandered or rejected God's gift, know that Grace is still extended — come back and be restored.Recommit: Spend time in prayer, study the Word, and let Grace guide your walk with Christ.Special Thanks:Host: Jerry Royce Live & Positive Power XXI MediaSupporters: The Divine Church of Deliverance family, loyal listeners worldwide, and Dr. V's husband for his steadfast support.Stay Connected:

Hey love! In this episode, we're diving into the real power of journaling—and why it's so much more than a cute notebook and a pretty pen. I recently came across an article by Peachey Counselling called “The Power of Journaling for Your Mental Health,” and it confirmed what I've known through years of lived experience—journaling is a powerful tool for healing, clarity, and connection with God.In this episode, I break down 5 mental health benefits of journaling shared in the article, while adding the biblical lens that makes it even more transformative. In today’s episode of What’s God Got to Do With It? we’re diving deep into a struggle we’ve all faced: comparison. Whether it’s scrolling through Instagram, seeing someone else’s success, or feeling like you’re falling short in your own faith walk, comparison is a sneaky thief that steals our joy, gratitude, and connection to God. Leanne explores the real cost of comparison—how it can plant seeds of envy and even make us question God’s goodness—and explore practical, faith-filled steps to break free. From practicing radical gratitude (and the neuroscience behind how it rewires your brain!) to celebrating others without comparison, we’ll learn how to turn jealousy into connection and curiosity. Most importantly, we’ll anchor ourselves in God’s truth, reminding ourselves of the unique and beautiful plans He has for each of us. If you’re ready to stop letting comparison steal your peace and start walking confidently in your own God-given path, this episode is for you, because What God has for you is yours. With this episode of Real Israel Talk Radio, I want to share a bit about my life's journey so that you can better understand the changes I have experienced over several decades and why I believe what I believe. In my decades-long search to find my true Jewish identity, I have come to embrace some closure in my understanding that “home” is not a place or a thing that can be found in this world. Difficult as it is sometimes hard to admit publicly, I know that home is not a land or a country on earth. It is not a birthplace, a birthright, a birth culture, and not even an aliyah, or going up to fulfill an inheritance entitlement to a piece of Middle East real estate called “The Land of Israel.” I will go so far as to say that coming home is not even in returning to hear and do the Torah – the Law. For some, this might come across as shocking. Yet, the truth is, all these concepts are essential living expressions and metaphors for everyday life that point us to our true home, which is in the King of all Kings, who rules in and from a divine government belonging to his kingdom - the Kingdom of Heaven. This is our true home in a different dimension of time and space, understood as Jerusalem above. This is Episode 164 of Real Israel Talk Radio

Well, it does and it's important and the girls discuss how this very old story is playing out today in our very modern church and what we need to know about it and how we can adjust to fall in to the same trappings of living "high on the hog" per say in our Faith Walk.

Anything we consistently think about, we bring about. Therein lies the problem…when you're not aware of how to renew your mind, feel and process your emotions, tend to your heart, let alone your creative capacity this is quite the conundrum indeed. The same thinking that created the problem, its not the thinking that solves it, which is always why, in the simplest form, a miracle is often just a shift in perception. Stinkin' thinkin' really exposes a faith problem--faith in the wrong direction. ABOVE ALL ELSE #8Hey Friend- this week we're going rogue on the REDEEM Her Time Podcast- no we're not falling off our rocker, but up till now each episode of this ABOVE ALL ELSE SERIES about the Lesser things that have our hearts has been inspired by the More than Anything Study by the Daily Grace Co. But I noticed they missed something... You see, here at REDEEM Her Time we talk about 8 key areas of attention-FAITH-WALK. FAMILY. FRIENDSHIPS. SERVICE. STEWARDSHIP. WELLNESS. PASSIONS...all of which were on their list too...But we also address our DWELLING (aka our homes).Cuz let's be honest, a lot of our time goes to making a home and then fighting the undoing of it. There's the dusting and wiping, the sweeping and mopping, the placing or shoving…a lot of time + attention goes to our dwellings, don't you agree? And while our home can sometimes feel like the source of mundane tasks that someone has to do but we'd rather put off, or we're constantly striving for the Pinterest or Instagram worthy photo and are never quite satisfied, making and keeping a home can definitely have a wrong place in our life…And dare I say, become an IDOL of the HEART.What if instead of never feeling like you can clean enough, own enough or stay organized enough, you let go of that picture of perfection and embrace where God put you and what you do have and actually clear some of the clutter (literally) to truly display the people and things inside that do matter? You just may find that your home is no longer something that controls you, but something that invites and engages others and creates a beautiful space to gather and grow WITH God? Welcome to Day 2276 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Hebrews-21 Endurance and Discipline in our Faith Walk – Daily Wisdom Putnam Church Message – 09/24/2023 Endurance and Discipline in our Faith Walk - Hebrews 12:1-13 We continue our extended series through the book of Hebrews in the New Testament. Last week, we explored the Triumphs and Tragedies of the Faithful. This week, we will extend our focus to a long-term life of faith, which will require Endurance and Discipline. Let's read Hebrews 12:1-13 on page 1877 of your Pew Bible. God's Discipline Proves His Love. 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. 4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, 6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”[a] 7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. More than ever, we need to be reminded that when we enter the Christian life through faith, we don't enter a playground but a battleground. That underlying principle runs throughout Hebrews and especially finds its clear expression in...
In this episode, Pastor Cindy talks about the importance of understanding that we are on a faith walk with God. It's a journey that requires risk. This risk will unfasten, untie and loosen us for the great exploits of God. It doesn't mean that you don't consider the cost, but sooner or later you'll have to make a decision to jump in. In the risk is the great reward of God. There is abundant supply, abundant reward, boldness, courage and peace. The risk brings not only a blessing for you, it is also a blessing for anyone that is attached to you and your destiny. Your willingness to take risks with God can unlock future generational blessings. God is ready to stretch you. Are you ready for the risk?
