In this episode of Bring the Pain, I talked about the recent game between the Niners and the Jets. With so many people with high hopes for Aaron Rodgers to tight this ship, he ran into a team he's very familiar with. After getting the snot beat out of them on both sides of the ball, the Jets fans are once again left feeling the same. Hear my thoughts about this and why sometimes making a bold statement about a team can sometimes come back and bite you. In the end, I reveal this week's Macho pick of the week who is ready to show everyone why this team invested in him. Who is that player? Find out as we get ready to slay the slates once again. Have a great day, everyone, and may the points be with you.

Join Rory and I as we catch up with him while the band was in Chicago on tour. Rory and I talk about the bands latest album, Megafauna, and what the mindset of the band was having to follow up such an ambitious concept album like Jettison. Rory also shares how it's been for the band to try and make a point to explore the cities they tour in and explore the local culture, and we get into the real question....where were they eating while in Chicago. We talk about maybe there being a companion to Megafauna down the road, and more in this quick chat with the ASIWYFA guitarist. In this episode, Bob'nJoyce muse on the merits and limitations of setting goals. Goal setting can both energize and move you to action but can also discourage and demotivate. It begs the question as to how you accomplish the former and avoid the latter. This topic is timely given the 2024 Paris Olympics and the stories athletes share about how they became the best in the world. The recurring theme is the power of goal setting that propelled them to become the best. The conundrum is to tap into that kind of goal setting and avoid that which distracts and bores. Some take-a-ways include: * Good goal moves you past your fear. * Goal setting creates purpose and a path towards the next and that is a good thing. * The power of collaboration and ownership when setting goals. * Jettison goals that don't inspire. This is a courageous act and not failing. * The danger of goals handed down from above. So come on in. Grab a snack. Welcome!

How is the greatest system in the World increasingly being blamed for all the ills in our society? Why is profit perceived as negative? Why is the government perceived as being the equalizer of prosperity? All of these questions and more are answered in today's show. In this episode of Someone Get Me, we delve into joyful living and provide six steps to achieve it. Her six steps are not complicated but take a lot of practice. Joy is our natural inner state and our essence. It is an animated state behind us. Joy is who we are. Anything like stress, strife, anger, and fear are altered in her mind. However, we have been trained to listen to our reptilian brain, causing us to be disconnected from our essence. For many generations, we have been paying the price of being disconnected from our essence, which is joy. Joy is about the amazing flow of life, and it is not the same as happiness. Joy is like a thermostat, while happiness is like a thermometer. Some people have a low set point for joy because they don't realize it can feel joyful or think it's a sin. Everyone's essence is joy, even those who do despicable things, and their despicable actions come from lies and deception they say to themselves and think. We encourage listeners to peel away the lies we tell ourselves, eliminating the ways of being that separate us from who we are. Consider Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Ode to Joy. Just like an orchestra with all the different instruments playing their role and bringing together this beauty, this joy, that's how we are. Our work is to get all our instruments and parts of us to play, cooperate, and work together for that joyful experience in the face of contemplation, stress, and all different things. Remember that Beethoven never heard his music. Meaning he did not let external validation or feedback affect his creative process. Find joy in living, not just in the outcome. When we connect with our essence, we can stand in our sovereignty as a unique being and live more joyfully. Here are the six steps to have more joy in your life. 1. Jettison - anything that is not serving your highest good. Anything that is in the way needs to be released. Bringing the past into the future gets in the way of joy. 2. Omit worry - Worry is focusing our mind on what can go wrong. When we worry about tomorrow, we waste today. 3. Yield - to our higher knowingness. There is perfect timing for everything. 4. Focus on excellence - Excellence and perfection are different. Excellence means I'm open-minded, always willing to learn, and know there's always more. Perfectionism often stems from fear. 5. Use your talents to serve - Sometimes, our angst or separation is because we are not serving. We often think that serving is the same as giving. There is different consciousness because you can throw money at something or give away your stuff, but service means I'm doing it with that inner presence of unconditional love. 6. Laugh - We raise our field when we laugh and play. Laughter helps us bring more joy to the world. It helps us let that part of us out. Remember that joy and joyful living lives in like the eternal present moment. That's how we maintain joy, always living in the present moment. How to Connect with Dianne A. It's so easy to get caught up in destination addiction and focus only on the goal and looking at the finish line. The truth is that when we do that — we miss so much of our life. Who wants to watch a movie missing all the details and only getting to "the end"? The richness of life is in the journey and enjoying the process of getting there. If you want more joy, pay attention on a deeper level by using all of your senses to do it. In this episode, I share suggestions on ramping up your joy a little bit more as you go into the new year and the new season in the story of your own life. Watch Someone Gets Me ▶️ Joy On The Journey with Dianne A. Allen. Key points covered in this episode: ✔ Jettison the things that don't work. Scrap the old belief systems and the old stuff you're holding onto, and clear yourself of chaos from the inside out so you can be clutter-free in your thoughts. Stop holding onto guilt, resentment, fear, worry, or doubt. It's time to jettison those things and allow joy to spring up because those heavy things will always push happiness down and make it harder to feel it. ✔ Omit, omit, omit things that don't serve you. A good question to ask yourself: Is what I'm about to do for the highest good of all concerned? Or is what I'm doing, thinking, and saying getting me where I want to go? Because we often want a certain goal, our thoughts, words, and actions don't align with that goal. That creates dissonance, and it steals our joy. ✔ In setting new goals, one must supplement the desire with the decision. Making that decision means cutting off everything except those you consider most essential. It can be easier said than done, but this concept can make the most extraordinary results when we are resolute in applying it in our lives. ✔ This basic rule is often forgotten: If you look for the bad, you will find it. If you look for the good, you will find it. As humans, we are given two positive and negative choices that become our reality. Remember, where your attention goes, energy follows. ✔ Let your heart be full of goodness, knowing that your light will extinguish the darkness. Your happiness and purpose will come to you, but first, learn to yield that everything happens for your highest good, even amid the brokenness. Pay attention to the timing that's made perfect for you. Growth is in the waiting, and patience creates more meaning, depth, and richness. ✔ Practice not hurrying through life. Slow it down a little bit. Pay attention. Appreciate nature. Appreciate yourself. Next time you're outside, check out the clouds. If it's nighttime, check out the stars. What's happening with all the animals and the foliage around, wherever you are? What about the breeze on your face? Look for the good and increase your joy because the world is a tricky place. ———————————————————————————————— How to Connect with Dianne A. When we undergo spiritualtransformation, there is a tendency to throw away our past and try to expungeit from our consciousness. However, a healthier approach is to be authentic to oneself,to embrace formative experiences of the past as a part of who we are andelevate it within our present. This becomes apparent in the spiritualtransformation of “Avraham'' and how he relates positively to his previousidentity as “Avram.”

"My life has been so much better thanks to the people I've met. 500 new people that I would never have known." Randell Carlton Green's podcast, Any Given Runway, introduces listeners to fascinating people from around the globe, guided by the message: "Everyone has a story, each person a scholar." https://anygivenrunway.com/ When travelling, or travelling vicariously through a podcast, the best way to connect with people is to talk about their interests. Randell embraces this, starting by asking himself, "What do I know nothing about?" It helps to be insatiably curious when you're a podcast host. Indeed, Randell could probably interview the same person half a dozen times and uncover different topics in each conversation. But, Any Given Runway is a show about diversity, whether it's in people, places, topics, ideas or especially, perspectives. The podcast is a delightful mix of athletes, artists, adventurers, authors, performers, and everyday people who may not fit into a single box or category. He has chatted with MMA fighters, mountain climbers, DJ's, freedivers, digital entrepreneurs, vocalists, ballet dancers, contortionists, skeleton athletes, solo travellers, soldiers and comedians. And that is very much just scratching the surface. A quick flick through his list of episodes, the guests and their activities, will leave you with the tricky yet exciting choice of where to start. Randell and I chat about the valuable life lessons learned, especially over the past couple years, and seeing how they are applied: How he has so much more motivation now to pursue goals and projects. How he has a greater appreciation for accountability, especially to yourself. Learning about resilience, and how so many of his guests have overcome odds and pushed through obstacles. The most common answer to, "What have you learned over the past two years?" - Jettison that negative energy. It's not worth your time, and life's too short. Any Given Runway is a textbook example of how interviewing and focused conversation is one of the great pathways to learning and personal growth. We chat a bit about Randell's volunteer travels to Poland, and his upcoming one to the Romania/Ukraine border, volunteering for World Central Kitchens. Organizations such as Workaway help people find places to volunteer, and at varying lengths and types of work. With underlying themes of travel, adventure, self-growth and resilience, Any Given Runway provides a platform for telling your story, and embracing knowledge and discovery. ---- Travel Podcast the World is happy to support "A Roof for Jorge" project, fundraising to build a new roof for an indigenous family in Panajachel, Guatemala. It is the initiative of Nelia Hutt, host of Giving Starts With You podcast, and an early guest on this show (Episode 5, March 1, 2022). Nelia met Jorge and his family on her trip to Guatemala, which she talks about in our episode together, and has maintained contact with them. They are in dire need of a new roof for their house, costing approximately $1800 USD. Her Go Fund Me campaign is raising funds for this cause, a perfect example of travel creating giving opportunities, and a way for all of us to contribute in a direct, existential way to a very meaningful result. Find the link here for the campaign, and thank you for your support! Every bit helps! The dictionary defines “legacy” as leaving an inheritance or property after death. That term is simply outdated. We need to make an impact while we are alive and vibrant. And I believe that CMOs are not the only leaders who should consider a new approach to living their legacy. Here's why... Today, our teams and loved ones no longer expect a clear, predictable, 20 year strategic plan. Those days are over. They want to follow courageous leaders with a growth mindset. And a growth mindset begins with our clarity of purpose and a desire to live a meaningful life TODAY. We are more capable than you think, too. Look at the crises we have endured, and our own resilience. In just a 20 year time span, we have witnessed massive social unrest, 9/11, the pandemic, and economic volatility. And we are still here. Our economy continues forward. Innovations abound. Families continue to gather, shift gears, and re-invent their future. Within the past day, I reconnected with two business colleagues between 61-64 years young. Both have redesigned their careers, relocated to new cities, and built a new community. They are flourishing. Those two men taught me that our reactions to a crisis can either be a beacon of courage for others to follow--or a trail of victimhood that they would rather circumnavigate. As we look to expand our marketing organizations, or reach new growth targets in the post-pandemic economy, we should seriously consider our mindset and our daily leadership habits. My mentor, Alan Weiss, understands legacy at a visceral level. In his latest book, Your Legacy is NOW, he proffers an entirely new approach to developing a legacy: “What you create every day influences people, hopefully positively. Your age is a new page in your book. And the question is: is it the same page as yesterday, is the page blank, or is someone else writing that page for you? That, to me, is the metaphor for legacy.” Watch the LinkedIn Live replay now. We cannot let a good crisis go to waste. Today is the ideal time to re-write our career and life "playbook," not when facing our demise. Here's what you will learn in this episode: ✔️ If you want to be a game-changer, follow "The Lobster Principle". Alan has spent four decades as a profound storyteller. He shares how we can learn alot from crustaceans and how they molt. Strong leaders are willing to be vulnerable. They are willing to shed old beliefs, habits, and mistakes. That's how they can achieve massive growth and inspire others to do the same. ✔️ We don't need careers; we need a calling. We have limited time on this Earth. We can start today to take small actions that fulfill a purpose and give us meaning. We cannot outsource this; nobody else can do it for us. "When you have a calling, you're fearless; you have passion, you seek it diligently. And in doing so, you help others." Click here for the replay. ✔️Jettison the term “new normal” from your vocabulary. Alan says,"What we want is deliberate disruption. There is no ‘new normal;' there is ‘no normal.'”(A term he has trademarked). We want to create not unhealthy turmoil but positive and creative volatility so that we all advance. If you are not innovating, you're not growing." Disruption and volatility are now part of the zeitgeist. Embrace them. ✔️ Your Legacy is NOW could be the catalyst you need to confidently emerge from the crisis cocoon. He unpacks how we've got to write our stories now, not when everything is perfect or until when things go smoothly: "What you create every day influences people, hopefully positively. Your age is a new page in your book. The question is: Is the same page as yesterday, is the page blank, or is someone else writing that page for you? That, to me, is the metaphor for legacy. Be more intentional, meaningful, and mindful." I encourage you to purchase a journal and start asking “WTF (What's the Future) I want to create?” Not what will you DO...or what will you BUY...but What experiences do you want to create for yourself and others? Then ask “What have I done today to create my modern legacy?” Your responses might just help you molt into something new and extraordinary. Click here for the replay. Copyright 2021, Lisa Nirell. This is how we wish people had talked about sexual health when we were growing up. We're joined by three very entertaining sexual health professionals. Firstly Amanda Jeffrey, Head of Sexual and Reproductive heath at METRO an equalities and diversity charity that promotes health and wellbeing to anyone experiencing issues relating to gender, sexuality, diversity, equality, or identity predominantly across London and in the SE of England. Also by Kate Oliver, from Illinois, President of the Kinder Foundation, which sometimes describes itself as the Amazon of sexual health. Finally by Peter Greenhouse of the BASHH; the British Association for Sexual Health & HIV. We're focusing on sexual health in the context of consensual non monogamy but frankly this programme is full of good advice for anyone. It's also a scream. I'm guessing that if you're a sex educator, especially one talking about sexual health, you quickly get tired of po-faced conversations and wish you could get real. So here we go - the tldr version - sex involves manageable health risks but is fun, life affirming and joyous and mostly the risks can be minimised. Jettison the shame. Stuff happens. And, after we've been over-run by right wing anti-vaxxers and mask refuseniks is anyone going to take lectures from these people about chlamydia? Thought not. :)

Earlier this week at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, President Donald Trump took the opportunity of his first address to the General Assembly to rail against the Iran nuclear deal reached during President Barack Obama's administration. “The Iran deal was one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into,” President Trump told the room of world leaders. “Frankly, that deal is an embarrassment to the United States and I don't think you've heard the last of it. Believe me.” Political analysts were practically unanimous in their belief that President Trump was signifying plans to find Iran in breech of a nuclear agreement negotiated by President Barack Obama and six other major nations in 2015, before the Oct. 15 deadline. On this week's TrumpWatch, Jesse talks to Parisa Hafezi, chief Iran correspondent for Reuters, about where President Trump's bluster towards Iran is leading us. Typically Based in Ankara, Turkey, Parisa is currently in New York City to cover the U.N. General Assembly and was in attendance for the President's speech on Tuesday.
