Dennis is joined via Zoom by Dion Labriola, the filmmaker and the subject of the documentary Dear Ike: Lost Letters to a Teen Idol, which is screening on World Animation Day on PBS SoCal and is also available for streaming on PBS.org. The movie documents Dion's teenage obsession with the child actor Ike Eisenmann from Escape to Witch Mountain and also a Doublemint gum commercial that was ubiquitous is the late 1970's. As a teen, Dion had a vision for an animated movie that he wanted to make and he was determined to convince his iold Ike to be one of the voices. In fact, he was so determined that he spent much of his teen years trying to track Ike down. Dion talks about what it was like to eventually be face-to-face with his teen idol, how his intense focus on the project related to his being a closeted gay teen, his attempt to get Larry Wilcox from CHiPs to help him get to Ike and the art teacher Pat Bishop who gave him a safe haven in school. Other topics include: that time Geraldo Rivera came to Dion's hometown of Akron, Ohio to chase after a pimp, Battle of the Network Stars-era cuties like Mike Lookinland, Gregory Harrison and Willie Aames, the fig gelato Dion had on his 30th birthday that he still dreams about and that time the comedian Carrot Top visited Dion in his deejay booth in a Chicago nightclub. www.dearike.com

7-Mary-3! 7-Mary-3! Jon Baker is IN the house! CHiPs star Larry Wilcox talks about going from Wyoming to Vietnam to Hollywood, his big break getting $450/week acting opposite a Collie named LASSIE, initially turning DOWN the role of Officer Jon Baker, meeting Presidents Reagan & Bush Sr, why today he recognizes that anonymity is a GIFT, being haunted to this day by Ponch's singing rendition of ‘Celebration,' how the motorcycle duo got access to those extensive LA freeways, why NEITHER of them actually had a valid motorcycle license during CHiPs, the seven episodes where Erik Estrada's absence was filled by Olympic Champion Bruce Jenner, why they rarely pulled their guns BUT did have to on Danny Bonaduce, how he ALMOST beat out Don Johnson for the role of Miami Vice's Sonny Crockett, why he still today dreams of the truffles at Toronto's Four Seasons Hotel, and how he & Erik Estrada navigated the highs & lows of celebrity to today becoming GREAT FRIENDS! Host's comment: I am very pleased that Larry has not let one bad experience with some really bad apples overpower his otherwise positive experiences in Toronto & Canada...standing in solidarity with Larry, I officially announce that Michael MacMillan, Seaton McLean [and by extension Sonja Smits] are permanently BANNED from ever appearing on the TORONTO LEGENDS podcast. The LOOOOOOVE BOOOOOOAAAAT.... Robbie-Ann's Saturday night ritual: cereal or Munchos and The Love Boat. Amy's Love Boat rerun summertime syndication saturation. The cast: some seriously accomplished, talented people. Isaac, your ship's bartender. Ted Lange: playwright and distinguished theater actor! Robbie-Ann recounts meeting Ted Lange, (hot) Parker Stevenson and Larry Wilcox of CHiPs, and calling Ted Lange "Isaac." But Ted totally rolled with it, and Parker and Larry were total dolls too. Fred Grandy: Gopher Smith was Ivy League. Yep -Harvard! What is a yeoman purser? Bernie Kopell, renowned character actor from pretty much every sitcom in the 60s and early 70s as the ship's lothario doctor. Breaking the cast down into thematic archetypes. Gavin MacLeod: from Murray Slaughter to sexy Captain Stubing. Lauren Tewes: Julie McCoy, Cruise Director, replaced in common "relative replacement" 70s tv switcheroo device with similarly-named "sister" Judy McCoy. Lauren Tewes, cheese expert! The later seasons -- were cigar-chomping executives trying to spice things up with 70s-TV ubiquitous add-on character actor Ted McGinley as Ace, your ship's photographer? And with The Love Boat Mermaids? Real Live Cruises - just not the Love Boat. Amy discusses her crazy cruise experience, derailed by a tornado. Robbie-Ann's experience on The Rock Boat music cruise that would not have lived up to Captain Stubing's standards. Les tells Kurt and Jason about meeting his long-lost relative who happens to be an Instagram star and Guinnes World Record Holder known as @thebalanceguru, and we learn that Kurt thinks that you need to send semen to Ancestry.com. It was also a big week in pop culture (Les confonts a woke-ish friend on social media about the Super Bowl halftime show), politics (look it up), and Blac Chyna news (she owes $72,000 to a former landlord). All of this build-up is just the guys avoiding doing a recap of Hearts of Winter, a Hallmark movie that proves once again that we've been ruined by the excellence that was Killer Contractor. Sure, we all learn what it means when a couple is being shipped, but all the old-timey camcorders and Larry Wilcox references can't make this movie more interesting to The Masked Singer. Summer kicks off with a bang this week on BEHIND THE LENS as we take a look at three winning films and speak with their gifted filmmakers who are not only good storytellers, but really good guys. And here's a bonus for you – all three films open in theatres this week on June 7! First up, take a listen to our exclusive interview with RON HOWARD talking about his new documentary, PAVAROTTI! The film is, in a word, Bellisimo! Exquisitely told and emotionally beauteous, the detail and depth with which Ron Howard tells the story of the man behind the voice is not only told with an objective eye, but a caring one. By film's end, one feels as if they know "Luciano", that they sat at the table and ate pasta with him, shared laughs. Listen as Ron talks about the research and assimilation of archival materials and the technical challenges presented with the use of old footage and recordings, gathering interviews, finding a throughline and working with his editor Paul Crowder, opting for sound mix in Dolby Atmos and the genius of sound recording mixer Chris Jenkins, not to mention selecting very specific arias for which Pavarotti is best known and then using them to highlight moments of Pavarotti's live versus the chronology of performance. Then writer/director MICHAEL MELSKI joins us live talking about his new film, THE CHILD REMAINS. Based on the true story of the "Butterbox Babies" and the surrounding legend that has permeated not only Canadian folklore, but Scottish and Irish as well, Michael crafts a chilling tale steeped in ambient cinematographic excellence. Rounding out the show, Australian actor ANDREW STEEL is with us live talking about his first North American feature, WISH MAN. You'll quickly hear why Andrew is just one more reason why we love Australia. Classically theatre trained and with a successful career in Australia primarily on stage with the Australian Shakespeare Company and in television, Andrew makes the leap to the United States with the story of Frank Shankwitz, the man who founded the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Handpicked by Shankwitz to be the man to depict him on screen, the stars seem to have perfectly aligned for Andrew who is also known for his own philanthropic endeavors, namely the international film festival Flicks4Change.org and its offshoot, Scripts4Change.org. Listen as Andrew talks about WISH MAN, his serendipitous meeting with Shankwitz and how the role came to him, developing the character through working with writer/director Theo Davies and Shankwitz, nailing a midwestern US accent and learning to ride a motorcycle, working with veteran actors Fay Masterson, Danny Trejo, Frank Whalley, Kirby Bliss Stanton, Carey Scott, Dale Dickey, Bruce Davison and, in the coolest cameos possible, Robert Pine and Larry Wilcox, and more. http://behindthelensonline.net http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com

Official Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-Anyone who knows anything about riding street motorcycles surely remembers or had heard of the hit TV series CHIP's! Even those that have never ridden a motorcycle have either heard of or watched the show themselves. The show has had a long lasting impact on many and we wanted to dive into and reminisce in this podcast episode. We have it packed with information and fun facts. There were many actors that appeared in the series each season, which aired from 1977-1983. Of course we all remember the main duo, Officer Jon Baker, played by Larry Wilcox, & Officer Frank Poncherello (Ponch), played by Erik Estrada. Sgt. Joseph Getraer played by Robert Pine was their direct supervisor on the show. Don't forget the beautiful Randi Oakes who played Officer Bonnie Clark. Ponch was the macho, rambunctious one and Jon washis straight-laced partner. The two didn't always see eye to eye on set, but have since reconciled. Each had their contract negotiation issues later in the series. Larry Wilcox actually did not return for the entire last season due to salary issues. Check out the Free Law Abiding Biker Podcast App!
