The Second Phase Podcast - Personal Branding & Brand Marketing and Life Strategies for Success for Female Entrepreneurs

I have a confession. I did not listen to God's plan for me. In 2022, I ignored God's plan for me. I had just published my book and was meditating when I felt the Holy Spirit say, "Create a program for women and their daughters to help them navigate anxiety." I didn't hear this command audibly; I felt it in my spirit. And I thought, okay, that sounds cool, but I won't do it. Despite having written a best-selling book about anxiety, having a doctorate in pharmacy, and being in the throes of raising three kids who have experienced anxiety, I doubted I had the expertise. Fast-forward to January 2025, and bam! God woke me up and has been peeling back all the layers of my heart and soul like an onion. Here's where I am today and what it means for the podcast, my business, and you. God's plan for me is coming to fruition. Let me start by saying that this has not been easy. It's taken much time, energy, and mental capacity. But here I am, and I feel God leading each step I take. He has shown me a lot, opened my eyes, and awakened me from resistance and disobedience. So, of course, this season has been difficult. Opportunities I had not been expecting. In 2024, Molly Claire hired me as a business consultant to help her with SEO, her podcast, and online visibility. I worked with her through two successful launches, and towards the end of the year, she proposed that we continue to work together and that I join her master coach training. No was my initial response. Not because I didn't love working with her, but because I wasn't convinced I needed training to become a coach. After all, I already had a master certification as a Christian life coach that I wasn't using. After praying about it, I felt God leading me to it. In the back of my mind, I thought, well, maybe I need parenting and trauma training as I expand my book series. It couldn't hurt, anyway. So I agreed and highly recommend her program for any coach who wants to expand on their knowledge of coaching. If you reach out to Molly, tell her I sent you her way. But that's not all! As I learned from Molly and her other instructors, I realized I wanted to learn more about the nervous system and the brain. I knew it would be advantageous to learn more since I hadn't studied this extensively since pharmacy school, and could use what I learned when writing.   Access full shownotes and all links

161. Strategies to Improve Your Coaching: A Master Coach Journey with Jackie Swainson

The Masterful Coach

On this week's episode of The Masterful Coach, Molly Claire interviews one of her Master Coach Trainees, Jackie Swainson, about her coaching experience before, during and after her time in Master Coach Training. What compelled you to want to be a part of Master Coach Training and expand your training and knowledge? The previous trainings I had been in seemed like they were only touching the surface; you could tell there was more. I didn't really have the depth I wanted to go or help clients go to. I could feel in my body that something was missing. Having struggled with anxiety for years, I knew that it wasn't just in my head, that there was a physical response, a nervous system response. I wanted to somehow connect all of the pieces together. I did a lot of research and heard your name a lot. I thought this is a woman who can really teach me something. You can read all you want, but I love being taught. So you came to Master Coach Training because you knew there was more; you could feel that some things were missing, and this was the place to get it. What is it like for you now as a coach in your sessions, having more of the skillset and having that whole-person view?I can see and hear and feel what my clients are saying, what they are telling me, and what they are meaning. It is like reading between the lines; you get this intuition, this sort of sense of where they are. And that helps me ask questions that will guide them where they may not want to go, but I can guide them gently. I can give them perspective and help them find a perspective that is different because I am looking not just at what they are telling me; I'm looking at them; I'm listening to them. I am able to help my clients get into their hearts. I am learning alongside my clients. What are the top two or three things that you've either incorporated in our coaching because of Master Coach Training or what's really enhanced your ability to really serve your clients? What I learned the most is that I can trust myself. And if I can trust myself, other people can trust me. I am building that trust and personal connection. It is the foundation.Guest BioJackie SwainsonJackie Swainson is a Master Certified Life Coach, and a woman of deep faith who has been able to help herself and dozens of women through midlife transitions to create a great life and celebrate who they are. The Power and Complexity of Thought Work: Navigating Emotions, Intuition, and Change "Thought work" has become a popular buzzword, especially in the coaching and self-development industries. Understanding and applying thought work strategies effectively involves exploring thoughts and the interconnectedness of our emotions, intuition, and behaviors. Going Deeper  We hear a lot about thought work, but there is more to it to change our outcomes. Thought work is not merely about focusing on cognitive processes; it dives deeper into the intricate connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions. Often, thought work can be detrimental. The Essence of Thought Work Strategies Thought work involves more than just thinking positive thoughts. It includes mindset and belief work, diving into how our thoughts influence our feelings and actions. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a widely recognized model, highlights that our thoughts create emotions, which determine our actions. So, in this model, understanding and intentionally guiding our thoughts is crucial for personal growth and transformation. Despite the benefits of thought work strategies, it's essential to recognize their limitations. Not all feelings stem directly from thoughts. Emotions can arise independently, whether driven by past experiences, relationships, or from unprocessed trauma. Ignoring these emotions and focusing only on thought work can be detrimental. Intuition and Emotional Awareness It is important to remember that thoughts create feelings, but not all feelings are created from thoughts. We have underlying emotions and past experiences that create our feelings. Our bodies possess innate wisdom, often providing physical reactions to different situations. These visceral responses can guide our decision-making. Acknowledging these reactions allows us to tap into our intuition and align our actions with our true selves.  About Molly Claire Molly Claire is a 7-figure business builder, founder of The Masterful Coach Collective, author of the best-selling book The Happy Mom Mindset, and proud mom of 3. Limiting beliefs are everywhere, and they can sound very subtle. They can sound like, I'm too old to do that. I should have done that by noon, and now it's 2 p.m. I can't make that much money. That's a big one and today's guest goes deep, as she shares her own personal story about how much money she didn't think she could really make. Molly Claire is a Master Coach Instructor and founder of Holistic Master Coach Training inside The Masterful Coach Collective.  She helps coaches develop superior coaching skills so they can guarantee results for their clients, while designing a simple, profitable business model. Molly says she was born with entrepreneur blood. As a kid, if she wanted something, she had to figure out how to earn the money. In adulthood, she was a stay-at-home mom, but was always looking for the thing -- the thing that is going to allow her to use her gifts and help er feel alive and help others, and also have that balance in her life. Molly found coaching at a crisis point in her life. She had three kids, and had just been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome. She was depressed, her marriage was struggling, and she couldn't be the person she wanted to be. Molly did a coaching session and it blew her mind. “I remember thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, this is really something.' And number one, wow, there's more possibility in my life. And number two, this is something I want to do. I want to help other people have this experience,” says Molly. Molly says we all have limits because we have perceptions of the world. We have these ways that we see what's possible and what's not. We could all think today about what things you believe that you are limited in, just in small ways. Then ask yourself, is this really true?  One of her own past beliefs centered on money. At the time, she was launching her business and going through a divorce. With three children, she wanted to provide well, but she was terrified of finances. Her own coach asked her, “well, why don't you just make as much money as your husband does?” The question was absurd to Molly. Her answer, a limiting belief, said to her, “well I can't because I'm a woman.” “I didn't want to claim it. And yet there it was, clear as day that I had a belief that as a woman, I could not make as much money as a man,” says Molly. She started collecting evidence that her belief was a lie. She found women who made more money than her husband -- meaning her goal to make $250,000 was possible. As you're collecting evidence, it's important that we pay attention to who we're listening to and what we're giving credence to. The narrative starts to become part of your normalized conversation. “As women, when we are building a business and we believe that our business and our personal life are in conflict with each other, it lends itself to us always feeling spread thin, overwhelmed, guilty,” says Molly. “I should be here. I should be there. It's not useful. What I believe is that your personal life and your business are two parts of a bigger picture, which is your ultimate way of existing and living in the world.” Free gift: Visit the Pop up podcast https://myperfectbiz.com/  Connect with guest Molly Claire: https://mollyclaire.com/  Other GoG episodes you might want to check out: How to Let Go of the Bully In Your Brain: [add link] You Deserve the Money: https://sarahwalton.com/bookkeeping-for-women/  You can check out our podcast interviews on YouTube, too! http://bit.ly/YouTubeSWalton   Thank you so much for listening. Supercharge Your Coaching SkillsTo advance your coaching skills and truly excel as a coach, you must view and understand your clients as whole people. Integrating cognitive, emotional, and nervous system awareness methods allows you to adjust your approach fluidly based on your clients' needs. This adaptability ensures smoother sessions and enables you to guide clients intuitively and effectively. Why Advanced Coaching Skills MatterAs coaches, we are passionate about providing exceptional experiences for our clients. For those dedicated to transformational change, safety, and ethics, enhancing your coaching skills is paramount. This workshop series is designed for you.The Essentials of Advanced Coaching Skills: 4 Fundamentals discussed in the IntensiveAdvanced Cognitive CoachingMy foundational training was through the Life Coach School, where I mastered the cognitive coaching model. Cognitive approaches are incredibly effective yet not holistic. My experience with cognitive coaching showed that it could only go so far. Cognitive coaching is excellent for mindset work, but the emotional and physical aspects that also affect our clients need to be addressed.Emotion-Focused ModalitiesEmotions and past traumas are stored in the body, affecting our clients deeply. Solely relying on cognitive approaches might not only be ineffective but detrimental. Embracing emotion-focused modalities ensures that we address these emotional blocks. Combining cognitive strategies with emotion-focused ones can supercharge your ability to help clients create lasting change.Understanding the Nervous SystemNervous system awareness is critical for advancing your coaching skills. Your clients might experience fight-or-flight responses in coaching sessions or in their daily lives. Knowing how to help your clients understand and manage their nervous systems can vastly improve the effectiveness of your coaching. If a client continually has a stress response in specific situations, your interventions must address this underlying activation to facilitate true change.Action-Focused StrategiesFinally, many coaching programs emphasize action plans. While structured actions are beneficial, they often fail when clients have underlying emotional blocks or conflicting beliefs. A comprehensive understanding of your client's emotional states and beliefs allows you to tailor action plans that align with their unique situation, removing friction and fostering real progress. Why This Training Series? The "Master Your Coaching" four-part training series provides advanced insights into these essential areas. It's available for just $197 and includes four high-level training videos. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect:In-Depth Training Videos: Each video focuses on one of the four key areas: cognitive coaching, emotion-focused work, nervous system awareness, and action-based strategies. These videos are designed to be informative and practical, offering specific hands-on activities that you can immediately apply in your coaching practice.Interactive Success Guides: Each training video comes with an interactive success guide. These guides will help you follow along, take notes, and truly engage with the content. They bring a more personal touch, making it feel like we're working together through these strategies.Bonus Case Study Videos: The series includes bonus case study video clips from actual calls from my master coach training sessions. You'll see real-life examples of client situations where we dig deep into the challenges and work through diagnosing and solving them. These case studies offer invaluable insights and practical knowledge on applying the learned concepts effectively. The Magic of Whole-Person...

When we spoke Jim was building a 19-foot wooden boat in this garage in Blessington Co Wicklow. Jim named the boat Molly Claire after his wife and daughter. It was hand-made from plywood and made with blood, sweat, and tears. Jim had no engine, no satellite communications, basic supplies, and very limited solo sailing experience when he set off on Nov 17th, 2021. The great news is that Jim did it. He started the marathon 3000-mile solo voyage on Nov 17th and arrived in Martinique on Dec 25th - Christmas day. In this episode, we hear all about Jim's adventure on the high seas. Enjoy

There is only one you and so you are the only one who can create a life where what you really want is a top priority. Many know this but making the things that matter most a priority an actual reality can often seem overwhelming and impossible.   Coach Molly Claire sits down to talk with Heather about how each of us has unique desires, wants, and gifts that were given to us on purpose by God so that we could each create the handcrafted life we are meant to live. The biggest obstacle to your dream life is you and when you can both love yourself completely and get out of your own way is when you will start to trust yourself and create the life you want.    Molly said it best when she said, “Sometimes the hardest or most scary thing, and also the most important thing really, is to go inside of us and find out what does success look like for me.”   For more information about Molly and for links to access all she has to offer, please click HERE! Four years ago I found a coach, and from that moment the transformation began.   No longer did I believe that living with anxiety would keep me from progressing and becoming the person I am meant to become.  There is so much more to me than my anxiety, and my coach showed me that we all have limitless possibilities to grow and progress and create the life we want.  It's truly within each of us.  I needed a coach to help me see it for myself.    Coaching has  truly changed my life.  So much so that I want to shout it from the rooftops and share it with everyone I know!  But rather than getting on top of my roof everyday, I decided to become a Life Coach instead, with my mission to help you realize what I did four years ago.  I have had the privilege to train with Molly Claire, Certified Master Coach and instructor,  as well as be part of her Business Coaching program, The Coaching Collective. She is an amazing coach. I have invited Molly to join me in discussing how Life Coaching can transform your life.  She will share her own journey with Life Coaching and then we will discuss  a  Life Coach's role and  how everyone (yes, everyone) can benefit from having a coach.  We will also explore how, as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we both have witnessed how the remarkable tools from coaching go hand in hand with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Her enthusiasm and passion for what she does truly emanates from her. Whether you are needing help in managing your own anxiety, or buiding a business, we both agree that having a life coach is so empowering and makes everything in life better.   You won't want to miss this episode!   When you a ready to get the help you want and need, get on my calendar and schedule a coaching session with me.  https://coachwithangela.as.me/To find out more about Molly Claire and The Coaching Collective, visit:https://mollyclaire.com/https://mollyclaire.com/thecoachingcollective/

We are talking today to Molly Claire.  Molly Claire is a certified Life Coach specializing in motherhood and offers special programs for newly divorced moms.  She focuses on the unique challenges moms face from time management and productivity, to the worries , guilt and overwhelm that can wreak havoc on personal well-being.  Molly's emphasis on mindset and the way it impacts every aspect of our lives offers a coaching process that helps her clients make eating changes from the inside out. We start the episode by asking Molly to explain the CTFAR model: Everything we do in our life come all stems from the way are thinking about our life.  The way that we think creates feelings, and our feelings drive our actions, and our actions drive our results.  For example: thing to lose weight.  Lets say you have the thought, "I will never lose weight."  When you think that, it causes you to feel hopeless.  When you are feeling hopeless you end up eating more and work out less. Which proves that original thought.  Molly uses that model to find out why we are feeling frustrated. We need to get a new perspective to create new feelings in our life. First trap of Motherhood: Mom Autopilot Mom Autopilot is an automated state that we run on.  It all starts when we brought home the our first child.  All of a sudden we are responsible for every need of another human being. What happens is the mom autopilot helps you get through sleep deprivation and colic, however over time it becomes not so useful. Beasue we get in the habit of taking care of things for our kids that they don't need us to do.  We might put more things in our to-do list than we need to.  This isn't just with our kids.  This is in our communities, in church.  Wherever people ask things of us and we take it on immediately. The way this shows up in motherhood is taking on the problem of solving our kids emotions.  Think about the last time your kids come to you with a problem. One of the other traps is the trap of believing that we are responsible for making our kids happy.  When we can shift into a place that it is totally normal for our kids to have emotional ups and down and it is not our job to fix it, then we can allow that space for them to be upset and we don't have to be upset.  If we can let people have their emotions then we can respond to situations better.  Kids are going to have negative emotions about half the time. We can choose how we feel. Trap: Attaching your kids success to our happiness We feel good when someone compliments our kids.  As moms we feel with many more negatives then positives.  Motherhood is a thankless job.  We have to be our own cheerleaders.  It is easy to get a feel good when someone says something good about our kids.  We make it mean that we are doing a good job when they have a success. The problem is when our kids do something terrible, then we feel like a failure.  We feel inadequate.  Separate our how you show up as a mom.  For example: It is important to me to teach my kids to be kind to other people. But my kids decide what to do with that teaching, whether they actually are kind or not. So we need to draw the line between what is our responibility and what is our kids responsibility.  When we can let go of taking credit for our kids success we can let go of taking credit of their failures and allow them to take credit for their own success.  We can let go of trying to control them, because control never works anyway.  Kids will take more ownership of it.  We can't create success for our kids anyway, When we see failure as part of success it makes it so much easier.  The founder and CEO of Spanx attributes her success to her dad.  Everyday he would say, "what did you fail at today."  We don't have to think of failure as a negative thing.  When we can think about it that way with our kids it is not as upsetting.  The more failures they have, the more success they can have.  It is so freeing.  It will also help your relationship with your kids.  If we are taking ownership of their failures, then we will be desperate to have them not fail or cover it up.  They will feel that.  If you feel really loved, it is much easier to love your kids despite what they do if you aren't worried about their failure. Trap 6: Victim Mentallity Think about so much is asked of us as a mom.  We start having a dialog in our head that we have do so many things, and it is not fair.  Falling into a victim mentality is when we act as if, and think as if, we don't have a choice.  But we can realize, we always have a lot of choices.   Recognize your choices and the more you do that, you will feel less like a victim.  This helps us realize the WHY of why we became a mom. To learn about the rest of the mom traps, read Molly's book: The Happy Mom Mindset To learn more about Molly, visit her website at Mollyclaire.com   Mom Squad Challenge: Remember to recognize your choices.  Think today about where you are succeeding.  It is easy to recoznize our failures, but today ask yourself where am I succeeding and focus on that.
