Luis was a passionate evangelist who preached in over 80 different countries, and saw millions of people come to know Jesus before his death in March of 2021. Carrying forward the spirit of Luis' ministry is his son Kevin Palau. Kevin, who now runs the Luis Palau Association, is an incredible leader who has helped form profound gospel movements in secular cities; movements that in certain instances engaged over 200 churches and 32,000 people in over 300 service projects. Join Kevin and Jason as they discuss how Luis finished his life, the postures that contribute to gospel movements, working with municipalities for the sake of a city & countless stories of Jesus using the “yes” of people to bring His Kingdom to earth. Have you ever gotten to a place in life where you've had a moment to reflect on your journey and the decisions you made, or didn't make, to get you to where you are today? Oftentimes, when having conversations with others who have been walking in faith for more than a few years, they can point back to pivotal moments where they saw God divinely orchestrate the details as they took steps forward. Even getting to pause to look back and see the ways things pieced together can be eye opening and hopefully life-giving when you see that truly every step of your journey got you to where you are now. And even the moments you wish you could unwrite, were pivotal in bringing you to this present moment in time. In today's conversation I get to dive into the seemingly unlikely ways God would move and have favor over a ministry, that started simply through a prayer and a desire to bring the loving and life saving message of Jesus to others through a life surrendered to what God could do. Today I have the honor and privilege of connecting with a gentleman I had the chance to work for years and years ago but also thrilled to share more about the ministry He is leading as President and CEO. Kevin Palau is President and CEO of the Luis Palau Association. Kevin joined LPA in 1985 and began directing the day-to-day operation of the ministry in the late 1990s. In this episode, Jeff and Dale discuss: Dale's professional journey to creating his own consulting firm and increasing his ministry in starting Mission Increase. How good generosity training has blessed his life. Moving beyond a secular, scarcity mindset and into a Godly Abundant mindset. Having a healthy perspective on money and teaching that to future generations. Key Takeaways: Trust in God to provide and He will come through in amazing ways. As you grow in your business, look for opportunities to grow in your giving. Look for high leverage points in your generosity that will allow those you serve to launch to the next level. Integrity always has a dollar sign. Stewardship begins anew every day. You can't change the past, but you can change things today. "We don't know how long the Lord will tarry before he returns, or how long we've got, or the needs of the people, but people are hurting, people are dying, people are spiritually lost now. So in our giving, we want great leverage, but we want to act with great urgency as well." — Dale Stockamp About Dale Stockamp: Dale & Gail grew up together as high school sweethearts and have been married for 42 years. They have been blessed with three wonderful children and a great son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and grandchild.Dale started his healthcare consulting company, Stockamp & Associates (S & A), in 1990 and prior to the 2008 sale of S & A, the company of 400 people grew to become a top ranked provider of financial and operational consulting services to the healthcare industry. S & A's clients included over 100 of the largest and most successful hospitals and healthcare systems in the nation.Dale & Gail are focused on expanding the work of Mission Increase (MI), a non-profit they co-founded in 1999. MI transforms non-profit ministries through training, consulting and granting to Christian ministries, building organizational capacity by improving their financial stability and enhancing their ability to increase funding. MI is currently offering its services, at no charge to the ministry, in over 30 locations around the country. Since inception, the thousands of ministries that MI has served have increased their income by over $2 Billion. In this long-form conversation Kevin Palau, president and CEO of the Luis Palau Association, reflects on the historic ministry of his Argentinian-born father, who trained and participated in Billy Graham crusades, and led similar crusades throughout Latin America. He talks about new ways of telling the story of Jesus in a modern society, and how today that mission is just as much about transforming the individual as it is about “the desire for social justice and to see institutions and structures transformed.” Kevin also tells the origin story of TogetherPDX, a collaboration of churches he founded 15 years ago to meet the needs of the citizens of Portland, Oregon, where the Luis Palau Association is based. He discusses how that has been a catalyst for City Gospel Movements across the U.S., which helps churches in the same city join together to be an essential part of making a difference in things like public education, foster care, refugee communities, and people living with homelessness. Kevin Palau is President and CEO of the Luis Palau Association, which unites tens of thousands of churches in hundreds of cities to love and serve their communities and clearly share the Good News of Jesus. His book, Unlikely: Setting Aside Our Differences to Live Out the Gospel describes the ongoing impact of the movement. He enjoys serving on the boards of Alpha USA, Christians Against Poverty, and Transforming the Bay with Christ.

Kevin Palau, President of the Luis Palau Association joins me to discuss the possibility and strategy to creating partnerships & relationships between schools and faith-based organizations.
Hi friends, Brooke Andrews here. I want to take you back to 2008 to give you a glimpse into the heart and vision of our guest speaker, a friend of mine. In 2008, Kevin Palau, the president of the Luis Palau Association (LPA), reached out to Sam Adams, one of the first openly gay mayors in the United States. Kevin showed up to ask how LPA might come alongside Sam to address critical needs in the community. Although Sam and his administration were skeptical and couldn't quite figure out why "a group of Christians would want to associate themselves with someone with whom they disagreed so vigorously on issues like same-sex marriage and abortion," they agreed to work together because they were both desperate. Kevin describes that, on behalf of the evangelical community in Portland, he was desperate to change the perception of the church in one of the most politically progressive and unchurched cities in the country in order to make progress for the gospel, and he knew he needed to start with relationships. As Kevin and Sam's relationship grew and trust was established, Palau mobilized thousands of churches to get involved with hunger, homelessness, healthcare, the environment, the public school system, foster care, and trafficking in Portland. For Palau, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ was always the ultimate goal. They wanted to bring the Gospel to life in a tangible way. Kevin said, "What we want is for people who are far from Christ, or who maybe had a bad experience growing up as a kid, wherever they are to say, 'I'm surprised. I didn't realize that these Christians who I viewed a certain way, were the most loving, kind, caring people. They have their convictions. They love to talk about Jesus Christ. Maybe I'm ready for that, or not ready for that, but I can't argue with the fact that they're showing up in the deepest, darkest places of pain and hurt in our city, and they want to make a difference." Under Kevin's leadership, the Luis Palau Association has partnered with tens of thousands of local churches to produce large Christian gatherings in cities around the globe, pioneered a festival model that includes a citywide service initiative preceding the festival event and was designed for long-term sustainability well after the festival, and developed Palau's Next Generation Alliance, which exists to serve up-and-coming evangelists through mentoring and equipping. They discuss the power of prayer and the reason why it continues to be a priority in the Palau’s global ministry, and an experience that was a defining moment in Wendy’s motherhood journey. About our Guest: Wendy Palau shoulders a burden for the lost, born out of her own experience of living apart from Jesus Christ for the first 24 years of her own life. While born into a wonderful Christian home on the island of Jamaica, her heart wandered and sought fulfillment in all the world offers. At 25 years of age, God mercifully revealed Himself and she experienced His radical transformation. Wendy and her husband, evangelist Andrew Palau, have since dedicated their lives to serving churches around the world through city-wide evangelistic outreaches. Each campaign features a strong focus on meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the least in this world. Under Wendy’s compassionate direction, mission teams join each effort; whether in Africa, Haiti, or her beautiful homeland of Jamaica. Wendy and Andrew have been married 19 years and her primary job is raising their three children: Christopher, Jonathan, and Sadie.
