TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ ANSWER CODE REQUEST Patrick Gräser, better known as Answer Code Request, has carved out a distinctive niche in the techno landscape with his hybrid musical style. His innovative approach, characterized by a fusion of pad-driven harmonies, intricate breaks, and an industrial tone, has set him apart since his emergence on the esteemed Ostgut Ton label in 2012. This breakthrough led to a prestigious residency at Berghain, further cementing his influence in the scene. Gräser's work, including various releases and remixes for notable labels such as Ostgut Ton, MDR, Dolly Deluxe, and Monkeytown Records, has garnered widespread acclaim. Gräser's journey from a forest workshop near his hometown to the forefront of techno is marked by his wide-ranging musical tastes. His nights, spent mixing records from Hardwax and Delirium, contributed to the development of his characteristic sound, a blend that includes elements of jungle, drum ‘n' bass, Detroit, IDM, and UK bass. This unique amalgamation of styles is evident in his early releases on Music Man and his own ACR imprint, showcasing a talent that transcends traditional techno boundaries. Answer Code Request (@answercoderequest) has long since mastered the art of mixing up the physical the with cerebral. His broken, industrial-tinged techno drums are powerful enough to have made him a long-time Berghain resident, while his harmonic pads make a lasting impact on your mind. While releasing on the likes of Ostgut Ton, Dolly Deluxe and Monkeytown Records, he has also established his own ACR label and never fails to blur boundaries between sub-genres whenever he steps out with a new sound or set. He pulls no punches on this week's mix which is a broad showcase of his ability to thread together many different strains of techno and beyond into a coherent whole. There's everything from transcendental and linear rollers to dubby bangers, twitchy rave anthems blissed out deep space minimalism via party starting piano house. It's fun and functional in equal measure and is the sound of a DJ very much in full flow.
This is Draw The Line Radio Show with Jacki-E, presenting the best music from female producers and DJs. Helping me Draw The Line this week, with her guest mix in the second hour, it's KeHa Sun, a DJ/Producer based in Frankfurt-am-Main in Germany and Alicante in Spain. She loves to play with different sounds, beats and vocals, mixing tracks from different genres, taking inspiration from movie themes and classical music. She plays in various clubs & bars in Frankfurt, international radio stations and creative special events such as art exhibitions or pop up events where she creates musical concepts tailored to the theme of the event. Besides electronic music she also does hiphop gigs on bigger platforms like DJ City. https://cultkitchen.radio – ambient & experimental music 24/7. Both as a DJ and a producer, Patrick Gräser aka @answercoderequest has honed a hybrid musical approach that stands out in a world of uniform 4/4 techno. Melding pad-driven harmonies, intricate breaks and an industrial sonic palette, Gräser has occupied a unique space within the @ostgutton-official cosmos since debuting on the label in 2012 and becoming a Berghain resident shortly thereafter. His various releases and remixes for Ostgut Ton, MDR, Dolly Deluxe and Monkeytown Records continue to be highly sought after. As a DJ, he has taken his bass- and breaks-heavy techno to clubs and festivals around the globe, while remaining an integral part of the Berlin scene. For our show, he recorded a special set that is changing the mood from the beginning to a climax in the middle with a long outro to the end. This mix is made to connect people in the times of self-isolation and to give everyone a positive mood. If you open your imagination, you can explore the personal feelings of Patrick hidden behind the music. Ambient for him is not only background music but a cure that helps you feel more calm and positive in hard times.

A_GIM is coincidentally named one of the most experienced musicians on Polish electronic music stage. Through the years, he’s contributed to well known projects Őszibarack and Nervy, but recently, he’s decided to work on his own. The producer released his warmly acclaimed debut EP Votulia, on which he explores undiscovered areas of bass, minimal techno close to BPitch Control or Monkeytown Records catalogues. His vibrant sets, always warmly welcomed by the audience, have lent class to such events as Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Open’er, Audioriver, parties at Smolna or Paul Kalkbrenner’s concerts. In 2019, he debuted with track Yumatic (remixed by Yan Cook) via Noir Music Label. A_GIM also performs in a duo Blooma together with Daes, starting triumphantly with an EP for iconic Suara label founded by Coyu. Best known by the stage name Robot Koch, is a German, Los Angeles based, artist, composer and record producer. Koch made a name for himself as a member of the band Jahcoozi before establishing himself as a solo artist. His sound of organic electronic music has been called "Wonderful and Strange - pop music from the future" (by John Peel of the BBC already in 2003). Koch works as a producer and composer for both indie and major artists worldwide, gaining gold and platinum records for his productions for Marteria, Casper and K.I.Z. He won the German Music Composers Award 2014 in the category "best composer electronic music". His music has been used on numerous TV shows and films, including NBC's The Blacklist, ABC's How to Get Away with Murder, MTV "Teen Wolf" and the trailer for San Andreas. Koch also explores modern classical compositions as part of his work. For the ninth edition of Neue Meister at DRIVE Forum Berlin, Robot Koch and the Australian violinist and composer Savannah Jo Lack wrote and performed six pieces that were exclusively composed for the Neue Meister series. The music for this series will be released in 2019. While Koch has been releasing his own original material on the labels Monkeytown Records, Project Mooncircle, Bpitch Control and Four Music, he has been a successful producer, remixer and collaborator for other musicians such as Tensnake, Norah Jones, Bassnectar and Max Richter. In 2016 Koch launched his own label, Trees and Cyborgs.

FJAAK, the Berlin-based trio of hardware heads, have been constantly making a name for themselves over the last half a decade. Having grown up together in Spandau on the outskirts of Berlin, Felix Wagner, Aaron Röbig and Kevin Kozicki began quite early to create all different kinds of music before ending up taking on the city’s heritage – techno – to make it their own. It was back then in 2009 at ‘Gewerbe 15’, their 50 qm shared at studio, where they started to develop their very own distinct sound. The trio first cut their teeth in the electronic music scene by organizing illegal raves in and around Berlin, which eventually led them to run their own techno series – Machine Vibes. Based on all hardware setups and vinyl only sets, the series took them not only to clubs beyond the German capital’s borders but all over Europe, steadily growing their reputation and fanbase. 2014 marked the turning point of FJAAK’s career, when 50Weapons bosses Modeselektor decided to take the young trio under their wings. The start of a promising collaboration which saw them release five critically acclaimed EPs on the label within one and a half years, whilst incessantly travelling the world. Despite their young age FJAAK have played over 200 live shows, spreading their elaborate analogue sound all around the globe. From Los Angeles to Beijing, from SXSW back to Berghain, FJAAK were there to deliver what has become their trademark: raw, naturally crafted techno! Their distinctive sound and signature hands-on mentality, as properly captured in their “Against The Clock” feature for FACT Magazine, were reasons enough for BBC Radio 1’s B.Traits to name the trio one of her Future 12 Artists. Over the years the young trio has gained an impressive experience and routine and has much more that is yet to come... Now, as the concept of techno albums has become widely appreciated, FJAAK released their self-titled debut full length on 20 January on Modeselektor’s main imprint Monkeytown Records. FJAAK combines the energetic peak- time sound of the trio’s acclaimed Techno singles like “Unten / Oben” with sophisticated breakbeat arrangements and atmospherically dense Ambient textures. Wild City’s mix series turns 100 and we’re celebrating with a very special selection of tunes from Los Angeles based German producer Robot Koch, who’s all set release his new album ‘Hypermoment’ via MONKEYTOWN Records on 25 November. The mix coincides with Koch’s second tour of the country later this month which will mark the launch of VOI Nights – a new music property initiated by British apparel company Voi Jeans and Wild City that aims to introduce fresh Indian and international acts across the country. Robert Koch has visited to country once before in 2013 for the Border Movement SoundLab in Chennai and as the headliner for the flagship edition of Magnetic Fields Festival at Alsisar Mahal in Rajasthan, where he played an unforgettable set. ‘Hypermoment’ will be the first full-length release from the producer since his relocation to Los Angeles from Berlin. Koch tells us it’s his most personal release yet and was created after seismic shifts in his personal and professional life in Berlin. From what we’ve heard so far, ‘Hypermoment’ might see the musician’s best work to date, diving into deeper and more intimate territory with its warm analog sounds, lush piano soundscaped and haunting melodies. Koch begins his mix with ‘Let Me’ from his excellent ‘Tsuki’ EP, featuring Born In Flamez and one of Delhi’s most forward thinking young producers, Curtain Blue, who appears twice more in ‘Erase’ and ‘Circles’. From then on the mix hops between Robot Koch’s own pristinely produced tunes (including a few gems from ‘Hypermoment’) and a jumble of songs that he’s listening to at the moment. He mixes in some hip-hop with ‘Throw Dem Bands’ from 'Cuts Vol. 1' EP by BRAINFEEDER’s Lapalux and UK based Hyperdub signee LV’s addictive ‘Work’, along with Nosaj Thing’s ‘Don’t Mind Me’ and German composer and musician Nils Frahm’s beautiful, stripped down piano notes in ‘Re’. The mix ends with an emotive new track from Koch’s upcoming album called ‘Care, which also marks the artists’ vocal debut.
