A Clare hotelier is optimistic the county will experience a good tourist season this year in spite of the number of tourist beds declining nationwide. The Irish Hotels Federation has reported hotels across Ireland reached an average occupancy of 74% down from 2023. Meanwhile the federation is forecasting a further 2% decline in business for hotels nationwide throughout the course of 2025. Clare Tourism Advisory Forum Chair, Sean Lally, says the county's tourist assets help prevent hotels from experiencing extensive downturn in tourist numbers.
A Clare hotelier fears widespread job losses in the hospitality sector will be unavoidable in 2025. It comes as Finance Minster Paschal Donoghue announced this week that any decisions on further reductions to the hospitality VAT rate won't be made until Budget 2026. It has already been confirmed that some sectors will see a reduction to 9%, however this will mostly apply to the food sector. Co-owner of Hotel Woodstock in Ennis and Clare Tourism Advisory Forum Chair, Sean Lally, says businesses will have to let staff go to stay in business.
A Clare hotelier is optimistic the proposals in the Programme for Government are an indication of a shift in focus away from FDI and towards helping indigenous companies. Included in the draft, are promises to change the VAT rate for food, entertainment and hairdressing businesses, which would be implemented as part of budget 2026. The Department of Finance estimates the cost of reducing the rate from 13.5% to 9% would be €545 million per year. Co-owner of Hotel Woodstock and Clare Tourism Advisory Forum Chair, Sean Lally, says recent budget surpluses have enabled the country to absorb this.
The Midwest of Ireland has the lowest five-year survival rate for some of the most common cancers compared to the other health regions around the country. That is according to the National Cancer Registry of Ireland's annual report for 2020-2022, which also examined variation in cancer incidence and survival across new health regions over a 10-year period. It is highlighting a postcode divide with different survival rates from certain cancers. People diagnosed with bowel, lung, and breast cancer between 2009 and 2018 had lower survival rates in the Midwest compared to the national average. To discuss this further, Alan Morrissey was joined by Tulla based oncology nurse, and ovarian cancer survivor, Anne Murphy and Sean Lally, who spoke about his bowel cancer diagnosis. The Chair of the Clare Tourism Advisory Forum believes lowering the hospitality VAT rate in this region would benefit businesses and consumers alike. It follows the tabling of a Dáil motion by the Rural Independent Group to bring the VAT rate in the tourism and hospitality sectors down from 13.5% to 9% - while Cork TD Michael Collins has proposed reducing it to 5% outside of Dublin. Countries such as Italy, Hunrary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Romania and Portugal have all availed of the EU Reduced VAT Rates Directive to lower VAT rates in peripheral regions. Clare Tourism Advisory Forum Chairperson and Hotel Woodstock co-owner Sean Lally insists the measure should be introduced and he claims the current rate is simply not working.
In this episode of Warriors Unmasked, we are joined by the presence and story of Sean Lally, a man whose life story is as powerful as his punches. Lally, a former elite Army Ranger, owner of the premier boxing gym in Boston - Title Boxing, and a beacon of hope in the realm of mental and physical wellness, takes us through his extraordinary journey of resilience, recovery, and reinvention. Raised in a family with a strong military background, the young Sean Lally always felt a pull towards the military. He recalls how his childhood games mirrored his aspirations, playing with toy guns and imagining himself in the throes of combat. This dream, however, was not without its challenges. Sean's high school years were marred by struggles with addiction, a battle he openly shares. Despite these early hurdles, his unwavering spirit led him to enlist in the U.S. Army, a decision that shaped much of his future. Sean's time in the Army was a mix of fierce discipline and personal turmoil. His experiences in Afghanistan, coupled with a relentless addiction, created a tumultuous period in his life. Post-military, Sean's struggles intensified, but it was his unyielding passion for fitness that provided a glimmer of hope. This passion became his salvation, guiding him back to a path of sobriety and purpose. Sean's commitment to fitness is not just about physical strength; it's a therapeutic journey that helped him combat his inner demons. As a certified fitness coach with multiple certifications and a professional MMA record of 9-6-0, Sean exemplifies the power of transforming pain into purpose. His journey through addiction, recovery, and success is a testament to his incredible resilience and determination. More than his professional accomplishments, Sean is a family man, devoted to his wife and children. His role as a father and husband is central to his story, providing a sense of balance and grounding amidst the chaos of his earlier life. His work as an Ambassador Athlete for Operation Vet NOW, and his dedication to mentoring fellow veterans and sober men, highlights his commitment to giving back and supporting others on their journey. Sean Lally's life story is a stirring reminder that our struggles do not define us, but rather, they forge us into warriors. His ability to face life's challenges head-on, turning adversity into strength, is an inspiration to us all. If you're eager to delve deeper into the captivating journey of Sean Lally, to understand the intricacies of his battles and triumphs, I invite you to hit play on this episode of Warriors Unmasked. The Chair of Clare's Tourism Advisory Forum believes the county's lack of tourist accomodation will not fixed in early 2024. A survey by Fáilte Ireland indicates 20% of registered tourism accommodation nationwide is being used for humanitarian purposes this year, with Clare at the top of the list at 33%. In this year's budget €10 million was allocated for a programme of supports targeted at tourism businesses facing challenges due to tourism bed stock displacement. Chair of Clare's Tourism Advisory Forum and Ennis hotelier Sean Lally says the county's tourism industry is resilient.

Hope has been expressed that an agreement can be reached to facilitate the transfer of the operation of Shannon Heritage sites to the local authority before Christmas. Clare County Council says it "can't proceed" with the proposed takeover of Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Knappogue Castle and Craggaunowen, citing 'ongoing uncertainty' on details surrounding the process, including Government funding. The Council has left the door open to return to the matter at a later date. Sean Lally, Chair of the Clare Tourism Advisory Forum, Maurice Walsh, Vice-Chair of the Clare Tourism Advisory Forum, Fianna Fáil TD from Meelick, Cathal Crowe and Independent TD from Scariff, Michael McNamara have been speaking to Clare FM's Morning Focus.

Sean Lally NYS Assembly "Every Vote Is A Victory For Freedom" Sean Lally - In Woodies and across the 30th Assembly district a very different kond of the candidate with very little more than himself a few friends and his bike going around and campaigning doing what he can attend trying to make it through election say. He knows his fight was hard vs. a veteran political machine candidate manufactured agenda-based politics but he held his ground and fought a good figfht as best as a young man can trying to make a difference. We Let Sean thank all who voted for him and give his thoughts while he was rising around his district and moving to different events. Whatever happens, Sean is a winner - for taking part and making a start to make the world a better place! https://www.sean4assembly.com/ Cara Castronova says "Vote for Life!" vote for freedom and vote because all of what is needed to make New Yoirk Great anew starts with you voting and giving everything a chance, https://caraforassembly.com/meet-cara/ Cara will continue to champion these causes as your Assemblywoman. I will add public safety to my list at this critical time when crime in my District and the country has become a major problem. People are afraid and I will empower my community to the best of my ability as Assemblywoman. After becoming a champion boxer Cara didn't stop fighting. Upon retirement from boxing, I redirected my inner fight instinct to fight for the underdog and people who have had their voices taken away. Before deciding to run for office, I spent years as a relentless activist for victims of political persecution, prisoners of January 6th still in solitary confinement, victims of Lockdown mandates, the vaccine injured and simply those who want the choice of whether or not to wear a face mask. I fought for the morbidly obese with my organization “Knockout Obesity Foundation” where I taught at risk youth to naturally lose unhealthy weight and the virtues of hard work and fortitude. I starred as a Celebrity Fitness Trainer in Season 11 of NBC's "The Biggest Loser" where I taught morbidly obese people how to fight for their lives and lose half their body weight. My most precious memories of that time was getting to know these incredibly brave people off-camera and watching their inner fighters emerge as we worked together through grueling conditions. For years I had spent my time running community programs for at-risk youth in lower income areas of New York near and in my community. I taught them a fighter's mentality, boxing, how to live a healthy lifestyle and to fight for what is important. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mike-k-cohen/support

Astorino was in third at 19% and Wilson at 15%. Kathy Hochul scores easy win in NY's Democratic primary for governor Gov. Kathy Hochul cruised to an easy victory in Tuesday's Democratic primary election, setting her up to seek a full term in November after taking office last year when a sexual harassment scandal forced former Gov. Tom Suozzi (D-Long Island) trailing both at 13% with 18% of the precincts reporting when the Associated Press called the race. Defund the Police Democrat and a guy who was once known as 'Radical Raga' wokle wins 72% to 28% in race and marches on to bring anti-Marcos anti-ph gov't and anti-American position One guy i talked with said -have you ever seen this guy near a flaga or support the troops or with police or the firemen or those who do something good? FiLAm Steven Raga, democrat, won in New York for the primary for the state assembly… I interviewed his opponent, Sean Lally who is a kid fresh out of high school it seems with no backing or funds - parang flower child type —meaning a democrat like - Raga endorsed by almost the whole DNC, backed by Hillary n Loida and leftist activist will mean a Ph lobby group in NYC will maxed out by his party. Raga is also endorsed by pro-China congresswoman who is 2nd from top of democrats national committee so unless Raga screws up - he's in. The pair also offer their thoughts on whether they think the current demand for workshops can sustain, and what could help sustain this over the long term, including whether the industry will see more B2C brands linking up with mechanics, or if new infrastructure being laid down could steady the demand.
John and Sean Lally of cycle-systems.co.uk start a lengthy discussion on a mutual passion. Building wheels!Click to view: show page on Awesound
