About "Signed, Sealed, Delivered for Christmas" Originally aired on November 23, 2014 Kevin Fair directed. Kevin currently has 44 directing credits, including recents like “Legend of the Lost Locket,” “A Season for Family,” “Checkin' It Twice” and “3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost.” As for SSD, Kevin directed episodes 3 and 4 from the one-season series. After "Signed, Sealed, Delivered for Christmas," he will go on to direct all but 2 of the movies. The story for SSD for Christmas was written by Brandi Harkonen, Kerry Lenhart, and John J. Samar. The teleplay by Martha Williamson. Rob Estes plays Jordan. Rob has 70 acting credits with 2 upcoming projects according to IMDB. He's probably best known for his role as Kyle McBride on Melrose Place between 1993-1999 but my first exposure to Rob Estes was in the USA crime-drama “Silk Stockings.” Since the 90s, he's gone on to appear in shows like “Suddenly Susan,” “Gilmore Girls,” and “90210.” Browsing through his IMDB, I see he returns to Signed, Sealed, Delivered in a future movie and I'm not sure I'm ready. Marion Ross plays Oliver's former Sunday school teacher Mrs. Genzinger in this movie. She has a staggering 197 acting credits and will always and forever be known as Mrs. Cunningham from her 255 episodes of “Happy Days." She's been in just about everything, including the previously mentioned “Gilmore Girls” as Lorelei's gran Trix. She's also starred in 2 other projects for Martha Williamson: “Promised Land” and “Touched By an Angel.” At 95, Marion is still working! She voiced Grandma Squarepants in “Sponge Bob Square Pants” earlier this year. Marci T. House plays the nurse Odette. Marci has appeared in several Hallmark projects, including “Making Waves,” “A Winning Team,” and “Cranberry Christmas” (a movie that we'll be reviewing this summer in Christmas in July). Ava Telek plays Hannah (the little girl who's mom is sick). Ava has worked steadily since this movie. She has been seen in “My Christmas Family Tree” and “Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers.” Watch the Trailer for "Signed, Sealed, Delivered for Christmas" from 2014

Director Lana Wilson says that in “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields” she's showing how Shields found her way from “object of beauty to becoming a human being.”  It's a dramatic thesis, but one that Wilson brings to life in this Emmy-nominated documentary series.  After the original “Pretty Baby”, “The Blue Lagoon”, and the Jordache Jeans commercials, Brooke found herself in her 4 years of college–where she developed both intellectually and artistically– and ultimately became the comic actor we see in “Suddenly Susan”.  While the series is grounded in the deep archive of film from Booke's career, some of the most telling footage is shot at her contemporary dinner table, surrounded by her two teenage daughters and her loving husband as they respectfully but seriously consider the meaning and undercurrents of her youthful work.   “Pretty Baby” is available on Hulu.   Hidden Gem: Of Men and War   Follow: @lanawilson on Instagram and twitter @brookeshields on Instagram and twitter @topdocspod on Instagram and twitter   The Presenting Sponsor of "Top Docs" is Netflix.

We got the scoop on her break in Lorne Michaels' The New Show, her hysterical audition to win the slot, Johnny Carson, her mom's memorable note, Henry Jaglom building her first starring film role, casting her ex, an unknown David Duchovny, who, as a result, soon after shot to stardom, Ellen, a love fest, and what went south there, Suddenly Susan, also going south, damn those vivacious redheads, but which led to her being available for Friends, her one-off as Janice turning into a ten-year run–– where the voice came from, the Oh. Trekkies will remember Billy Van Zandt from one memorable appearance in the Star Trek franchise, but you may know him better for his acclaimed work as a writer and producer for TV & theater, alongside his writing partner Jane Milmore. Born in New Jersey, Billy headed to Hollywood to pursue an acting career inspired by Lucille Ball. Logically, his first stop was Lucille's home, and he has a story about that, as well as working with her and Gale Gordon on "Life with Lucy" and later producing an Emmy award-winning CBS TV special about her. He is also known for his roles in "Jaws 2" with Rob Scheider and "TAPS" with Tom Cruise, Sean Pen, and George C. Scott, which we spend some time chatting about today. Billy stepped into the world of Trek in 1979 as the Rhaadarite in "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and talks about being cast in the film, his thoughts on the new look of Trek and their uniforms, memories of the principal cast, and his extensive makeup process with Ve Neill to become this new type of alien. We also discuss his TV writing career with Jane, which includes "Newhart," "Martin," "The Wayans Bros," "The Hughleys," "Daddy Dearest," "Suddenly Susan," and others. Billy has great stories of working with Martin Lawrence, Bob Newhart, Shawn & Marlon Wayans, Richard Lewis, and Don Rickles! Plus, his stage career with some of his notable plays like "You've Got Hate Mail!", "The Property Known as Garland" and "High School Reunion: The Musical." This episode is dedicated to the memory of Jane Milmore, who passed away one year ago on this date. Today’s episode “Jane, Billy Said Get In The Car!!” highlights a writing team match made in heaven. World of Walley welcomes Billy VanZandt. He and his writing partner, the late Jane Milmore, are two of the most often produced playwrights in the world. Billy and Jane met at a high school acting competition in their home state of New Jersey. Together for 46 years, they wrote and starred in 25 plays together, including the international hit comedy "You've Got Hate Mail;" Off-Broadway's tribute to slapstick comedy "Silent Laughter;" cult favorite ""Drop Dead"; the Marx Bros. musical "A Night at the Nutcracker;" and the summer stock stock perennial "Love, Sex, and the IRS." Billy's solo play "The Property Known as Garland" starring his ex-wife Adrienne Barbeau broke box office records at Off-Broadway's Actors Playhouse. The plays have been produced in thousands of theaters worldwide, including two productions directed by Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis ("Billy and Jane are funny, outrageous, off-the chart writers/performers") and one by film legend Burt Reynolds. For television, these award-winning writers have produced over three hundred hours of television comedy, including "Newhart;" "Martin," which won them a People's Choice Award; "The Hughley's," which won them a Prism Award;" "Suddenly Susan" for Brooke Shields; "Daddy Dearest" for Don Rickles and Richard Lewis; "Anything But Love" for Jamie Lee Curtis and Richard Lewis; "The Wayans Bros."; and "I Love Lucy: The Very First Show" which won them an Emmy nomination. As an actor, Billy made his film debut in "Jaws 2"; co-starred with George C Scott, Tim Hutton, Sean Penn, Tom Cruise, Giancarlo Esposito, and Evan Handler in "Taps;" and has starred in over 300 theatrical plays including the 25 he penned with Miss Milmore. Thirteen days later, his mother, Alice Faye Walker (Afeni Shakur), changed his name. The parents wanted to avoid him being targeted by Black Panther-affiliated enemies. His mother was imprisoned while she was pregnant with him. Tupac's father, Billy Garland, was also a Panther but lost contact with Afeni when Tupac was five years old. The rapper would not see his father again until he was 23 - I thought my father was dead all my life. 52.    Early Life: He had a difficult childhood, as he grew up in the company of criminals, militant activist, violence, and a drugged addicted mother with a transient lifestyle. Art became a constructive and safe escape. His first acting stint was in 1983 (@12 yrs. old) with the Harlem’s 127th StreetRepertory Ensemble when he performed in a play ‘A Raisin in the Sun’ at the Apollo Theater. In 1984, Tupac's family moved from New York City to Baltimore, Maryland. There he studied poetry, jazz, acting, and ballet at the Baltimore School for the Arts and befriended Jada Pinkett. The family later moved to Marin City, California, across the bay from Oakland, in 1988 (@17 yrs. old). They went to the home of a woman Afeni had been close to during her Black Panther days and lived in a poor housing complex, referred to as ‘the Jungle.’ 53.    Early Career: While attending high school he participated in a poetry workshop known as The Microphone Sessions, organized by Leila Steinberg, who would eventually become his first manager. She introduced 19-year-old Tupac to Atron Gregory, a manager for the World Class Wrekin Cru’ and tour manager for NWA, who had just returned to the Bay Area, started TNT Records, and quickly gained attention by signing Digital Underground.  Gregory matched Tupac with Digital Underground as a roadie and backup dancer. Tupac’s talent was soon recognized by the group, and he began rapping in some of their songs. He debuted on ‘Same Song,’ which was featured in the 1991 film Nothing But Trouble. (@20 yrs. old) 54.    Solo Career: He released his debut solo album ‘2Pacalypse Now’ in 1991. (Big hit - 'Brenda's Got a Baby') Also in 1991, Shakur filed a $10-million lawsuit against the Oakland Police Department for allegedly brutalizing him over jaywalking. The case was settled for about $43,000. (1992 - Juice, first starring role) His second album, ‘Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z’ came out in 1993. It was more successful than its predecessor and contained the hits ‘Keep Ya Head Up’ and ‘I Get Around’. (1993 - Poetic Justice, co-starred with Janet Jackson) In 1994, he formed a group Thug Life and they released one album ‘Thug Life: Volume 1. (1994 - Above the Rim, Co-starred with Duane Martin) During this period he had several brushes with the law (he was associated with the shooting of a 6 yr. old Qa'id Walker-Teal in Marin City / shooting two policemen / various physical assaults) and was shot in an armed robbery case. After recovering from the shooting, he was sent to prison on a sexual assault charge. He released the album ‘Me Against the World’ in 1995 (@24) while serving his prison term. The album was an immediate hit and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. 55.    Final Album: During 1995, while imprisoned, impoverished, and with his mother about to lose her house, Tupac had his wife get word to Marion Suge Knight, in Los Angeles, boss of the Death Row Records, at the time a verry successful company, and asked for a meeting. Tupac's mother received $15k, Suge paid Tupac's $1.4m bail, signed the rapper, and went to work on the album ‘All Eyez on Me’. The album was recorded in two weeks! In a matter of two weeks, Tupac recorded and completed the double-disc album, completing two out of three albums he owed Death Row. (The third release would end up being the posthumously released The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory) Released in February of 1996, the album featured five singles and went multi-Platinum in just a few months after its release. 56.    Death: Seven months later, in September 1996, Tupac was killed in a drive-by shooting. He was 25 years old. 57.    Open Comments: 58.    Question: Confused young man or someone to be taken seriously? Shortly thereafter, they renamed themselves Fugees, a derisive slang term for refugees, and released a debut 12-inch Fugees (Tranzlator Crew) "Boof Baf" to no notable sales. 116.    Their 1994 debut LP Blunted on Reality, stylized in a fashion like A Tribe Called Quest, Poor Righteous Teachers, and Digable Planets, did better. However, it was the remixed versions of "Nappy Head (Mona Lisa)" and "Vocab" that earned the group another budget for a follow-up album. (Also, notable, in later interviews Pras would say that a married Wyclef and the underage Hill were having a clandestine relationship at the time) 117.    Combining a mix of conscious hip hp, soul, and reggae, with a homemade basement studio, sampled melodies, live guitars, bass, keys, "The Score" arrived in 1996, filling the void between gangsta and glitter. It became an instant classic, ultimately selling over 18 million copies. 118.    Open Comments: 119.    Internal "Affairs": In the summer of 1996, on the Smoking Grooves Tour, Hill met Rohan Marley, (one of Bob Marley's kids) and even though the former University of Miami football player was initially rebuffed, because Hill was still seeing Jean, , no one knew who the child really belonged to. 120.    In the summer of 1996 Hill had met Rohan Marley, a son of Bob Marley and a former University of Miami football player. Hill subsequently began a relationship with him, while still also involved with the married Wyclef. She soon became visibly pregnant. Marley and Hill's first child was born the following summer. 121.    Soon after Zion was born, she learned that Marley already had a wife and two children from another marriage. 122.    Amid newfound international fame and baby Daddy drama, Wyclef did not support Hill's solo desires (she had made appearances on Wyclef's solo project), thus leading to the group splitting up. 123.    Hill started work on The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill; blocking out Wyclef Jean from any type of production help after he had snubbed her. Her old-school takes on "Doo Wop (That Thing)" helped it rule the charts in 1998 and win five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song, and Best R&B Album -- the most ever for a woman. 124.    Meanwhile, Hill was having more of Marley's children and becoming close with Brother Anthony, a spiritual adviser who studied the Bible with her several times per week. In 2001, she recorded an MTV Unplugged session where she broke down in tears and admitted to being deranged and emotionally unstable. Rolling Stone called the session "a public breakdown", though it debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and went platinum. 125.    She has been a sporadic and reluctant public figure ever since. 126.    Question: Have you ever had an affair with a co-worker? How did it turn out? 127.    Movie Scene: Set It Off. [Directed by F. Gary Gray Action, Crime, Drama, Romance, Thriller. Starring Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett, and Vivica A. Fox] 128.    Rotten Tomatoes, Critics Consensus: It may not boast an original plot, but Set It Off is a satisfying, socially conscious heist film thanks largely to fine performances from its leads. 129.    Emanuel Levy, Variety 11-1996: Influenced by "Thelma & Louise" and "Waiting to Exhale," F. Gary Gray's "Set It Off" is a well-crafted girls-n-the-hood actioner, with an acute social conscience and plenty of soul. A tale of female bonding and empowerment, this relevant film boasts a terrific cast, headed by Jada Pinkett and Queen Latifah in career-making performances. 130.    Stephen Holden, New York Times 11-1996: Just Trying to Get Even While They Get Rich. On the long list of Hollywood heist movies that make you root for its criminals to steal a million dollars and live happily ever after, F. Gary Gray's film ''Set It Off'' is one of the most poignantly impassioned. If this messy roller coaster of a film often seems to be going in several directions at once, it never for a second loses empathy for its quartet of black female bank robbers who grew up together in a Los Angeles housing project and earn meager wages working for a janitorial service... A pop psychologist might translate the story into a fable called ''Women Who Rob Banks and the Society That Hates Them.' 131.    Roger Ebert 11-1996: “Set It Off” is advertised as a thriller about four black women who rob banks. But it's a lot more than that. It creates a portrait of the lives of these women that's so observant and informed; it's like “Waiting to Exhale” with a strong jolt of reality. The movie surprised and moved me: I expected a routine action picture and was amazed how much I started to care about the characters. 132.    Kent, Entertainment Weekly 09-2019: Why Set It Off is an era-defining film that shouldn't be remade. We are clearly in the age of reboots and remakes, but the '90s heist film is irreplaceable. 133.    Question 1: Remake or Sequel? 134.    Question 2: Do we really want more black female action heroines/stories? (i.e., women of Black Panther, "Breaking In" movie, Berry, Valkyrie, Guardians...etc.) 135.    TV Scene: Moesha 136.    Screen Rant: No show lasts for six seasons without making a cultural impact; Moesha was nominated for 32 awards and won three: two NAACP Image Awards and one SHINE Award. The series was syndicated, and still airs around the world. Netflix picked up streaming rights to the series in 2020, which became available to US subscribers on August 1, 2020. As new viewers will discover, however, despite how influential the show was, it ends abruptly after a significant cliffhanger for the main character in the season 6 finale. Despite the recognition, the show steadily declined in ratings, leading to its cancelation. 137.    Moesha Mitchell went through quite the journey on Moesha. At the beginning of the series, Moesha was still dealing with her mother's death a few years prior and learning to come to terms with her new stepmother, Deirdre "Dee" Mitchel (Sheryl Lee Ralph) — who just happened to be the vice principal at Moesha's school. The final season sees Brandy experiencing the trials and tribulations of being a young adult, complete with an engagement to long-time on-again, off-again boyfriend Quinton "Q" Brooks (Fredro Starr) and attending college. The final episode ends with the reveal of a positive pregnancy test in Moesha's dorm — who it belongs to, however, is a mystery. Since the show never got another season, the storyline was never resolved. 138.    According to EW, at the time, UPN's plan was to address the pregnancy cliffhanger in the spin-off series The Parkers, which premiered on the network in 1999. The Parkers followed Moesha's "boy-crazy" friend Kimberly Ann "Kim" Parker as she navigated attending college with her mother, who has decided to enlist at the same time as her daughter. For unknown reasons, however, the planned resolution never took place, despite The Parkers running until 2005. With there being reports of a possible reboot series in the works, perhaps this Moesha storyline — as well as the question of what happened to Moesha's brother Myles, who disappeared in the finale — can finally be laid to rest." 139.    Question: Is it reboot worthy? / Is any classic black TV show reboot worthy? 140.    Vote: Best/most important/favorite pop culture item from 1996?

Tim co-stars on the hit Amazon series, BOSCH. Lounibos first entered the biz in the 90's. He was branded as part of an “exciting new breed of Asian American actors with widespread mainstream appeal” and went to work immediately on such shows as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Suddenly Susan, and The Nanny, as well as recurring guest stars on Beverly Hills, 90210, The Practice, JAG and The West Wing. He also starred in the feature film Erotique, which was one of the first US films shot in Hong Kong. Eventually, Lounibos entered what one network executive termed the “tweener stage” — too old to play the young buck, too young to play the dad — so Tim made the difficult decision to leave Hollywood to provide for his growing family. As fate would have it, Tim's acting would be greatly enhanced as he learned real-life experience running a business and supervising hundreds of employees, all the while striving to be a good husband and father and gaining a newfound sense of groundedness and gravitas. Then, as onscreen diversity began reflecting the face of society, Tim realized his mixed-race combination of German/Irish/Asian along with his seemingly unlimited acting range made the timing right to leap back in. So far it has proved to be quite successful as Lounibos has quickly stacked up a new set of credits, booking such shows as A.P. Bio, Criminal Minds, Doubt, The Real O'Neals, and The Young and the Restless. In 2019, Tim guest stars on Hawaii Five-0 and NCIS and recurs throughout the fifth season of Amazon Studios' Bosch. If you're more of a visual person: Check Tim's interview on youtube: https://youtu.be/iQoHMjgPo0oCome and have a listen and make sure to follow us at:@ArianeAndrew@MattDillon1983@SippintheTeaTvShow #SippinTheTea #ArianeAndrew #MattDillon

From activist to actorvist, besting Billy Porter and many others to land the role of Emmett in Queer as Folk, groundbreaking television and a career making star turn. Nelson has an amazing talent of playing bad guys, which would come across as odd for some as he's one of the nicest person we have ever interviewed. In his latest film that co-stars Caper Van Dien called, Dead Water, Nelson plays another big baddie known only has McLean, a pirate who tries to take over the yacht and anything else of value, monetary or otherwise. We spoke to Nelson about being at the mercy of Mother Nature while filming in the middle of the sea, how it's like being with such a small and talented cast as well as the difficulties it is to shoot on such a tight schedule. #JuddNelson #CasperVanDien #BrookeShields #Thriller #80s #80skid #80smoviestars #BratPack #DeadWater #Movies #MovieThriller #Acting #Actor #DeadWater #Transformers #TheBreakfastClub #StElmosFire

RETRO SHOCK: "Heart and soul and a lot of discomfort." (1988) Who doesn't like an age-appropriate Tom Hanks? Well, Amy Poehler, for one. Born in the Phillipines, Callen spent the first fourteen years of his life overseas in countries like India, Pakistan, Lebanon, Greece and Saudi Arabia, before moving to the U.S. He went to high school in Massachusetts and earned his B.A. in History at the American University in Washington D.C. Bryan Callen has spent the last 17 years in Los Angeles fighting traffic because that’s where he seems to find the most work. (Bryan Callen is also writing this but making it seem like someone ELSE is writing this by referring to himself in the 3rd person) Callen got his start as an original cast member of MAD TV. He then went on to play numerous roles on the small and big screen including, “Old School” “Bad Santa”, “Sex and the City”, “Entourage,” “Californication”, “7th Heaven,” “King of Queens,” “Stacked,” “Las Vegas,” “West Wing,”“News Radio,” “Significant Others,” “CSI,” “NYPD Blue,”“Suddenly Susan,” and “Frasier.” He recently finished a two season character arc on USA’s“In Plain Sight” Callen is not a famous actor but sometimes people look at him and scream “Bilson, ” since that’s the character he played on several episodes of CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother.” His most recent TV role was Captain Frank Dashell, leader of the Undead Task Force, in the short lived but critically acclaimed MTV comedy, “Death Valley”. He’s been recognized for that role exactly 4 times but who cares since he’s been recognized over one million times (I’m guessing) as EDDIE, the Middle Eastern owner of a wedding chapel in a little movie called THE HANGOVER. Not to mention his role as Samir, in HANGOVER II where he played basically the same exact character only Samir had thick, curly, hair and darker skin which is actually a good look on Callen considering his Irish/Italian heritage has left him with a ruddy complexion and thinning, mouse-brown hair. His most recent role on the big screen was in the Lion’s Gate drama WARRIOR where he did an excellent job playing himself. Between acting gigs Callen spends his time power lifting, taming lions, vanquishing evil and making people laugh as a stand up comic. That’s why he can currently be seen on SHOWTIME performing a stand up comedy special called MAN CLASS.

In BATES MOTEL, the PSYCHO prequel series on A&E (Mondays at 10pE/P), the astonishingly flexible NESTOR CARBONELL plays Sheriff Alex Romero, riding herd over White Pine Bay, the unhinged drama's fictional setting.Romero is the "moral" center of the town, although morality is relative in this upscale human sewer. Imposing and discerning, Romero got involved in Norma Bates' life after an unfortunate incident at the motel early in season 1. "I am the last person who you want on your bad side, Mrs. Bates," he intoned with stoney seriousness. This season he has become - perhaps against his better judgment - even more involved with the Bates, residing at the motel after his house was torched by a reckless local drug kingpin, and he has become friendly and uneasily familiar with Norma.Nestor Carbonell was born in New York City and variously raised in Mexico, Venezuela, Florida, Connecticut, the Bahamas, and London. He graduated from Harvard University with a degree in English, where a first-year drama course led to his interest in performing.Nestor is most often recognized for his integral role in the acclaimed series LOST as the iconic Richard Alpert. This role, as well as his turn as Mayor Anthony Garcia in Christopher Nolan's THE DARK KNIGHT series has shown Nestor's versatility, range, and complexity as an actor. His additional TV credits include RINGER, CANE, HOUSE, SCRUBS, MONK, and SUDDENLY SUSAN, for which he earned two ALMA Awards for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series. Nestor currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Shannon Kenny, and their two sons.

Skylar Saint-Cox, host of The Queenz Of Media is thrilled to welcome one of the hottest and most talented actors to her show, Gregory Kieth, on Monday July The 6th at 12:30 A.M. EST! Gregory Kieth caught the acting bug as a child while entertaining at family gatherings, doing impersonations and storytelling. At the age of five, his family moved to California, where his interest in athletics and modeling eventually took a backseat to his true desire, acting. Parents never forget their children's first word. Well, when Greg began to speak, his folks say he didn't have just one word to say, but a whole rap song and beat, snapping his fingers and the whole nine yards. And while he grew up in the 'hood where fun and games were nonexistent, he didn't let his dire circumstances destroy his creative impulse. Realizing at a young age where his heart was, he gave up playing ball and headed to Hollywood. Not long after, Greg was recording his first demo album and testing his material at the local hot spots. After overwhelmingly positive feedback, he became even more ambitious to begin on his next album. Eventually, he found his niche as an actor, landing bit parts in various television series, including Suddenly Susan and The Jamie Foxx Show. You can hear Gregory's music on many movie soundtracks as well as television shows, including Noah's Arc, a gay-themed, African-American-oriented TV series, where he is a member of the ensemble in the role of Trey, a gay doctor. He's currently working on Johnny 99, an action film in which heaven and hell are at war on Earth; and he's recently entered talks with Tommy Boy Records about a recording contract.
