He elaborates on his point of view, suggesting that traceable wallets will prove to be a cornerstone of fighting financial crimes. They also discuss the topics of financial inclusion, US dollar dominance, and the trustworthiness of the US government in the context of tighter regulation.  DISCLAIMER The content herein is provided for educational, informational, and entertainment purposes only, and does not constitute an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any securities, options, futures, or other derivatives related to securities in any jurisdiction, nor should not be relied upon as advice to buy, sell or hold any of the foregoing. Billy Donlon goes way back with Brad Brownell -- all the way back to when Brownell was an assistant at UNC-Wilmington and Donlon played for the school. Donlon later served as an assistant for Brownell when Brownell was head coach at UNC-W, and then he followed him to Wright State when Brownell got that job. After Brownell left for Clemson, Donlon took over for him at Wright State and lasted six seasons. Donlon has been Brownell's associate head coach for the past two seasons. He joins The Dubcast to reflect on the Tigers' stirring Elite Eight run and all the things that went into it. Donlon also goes deep on his life story: His grandparents came to America from Ireland, living in New York after entering via Ellis Island. Donlon's father was an assistant coach for Providence and played a major role in recruiting the team that went to the Final Four in 1987. He had left a year earlier to join Bill Foster at Northwestern. Donlon remembers growing up in the Chicago area when the Bulls were becoming transcendent with Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and others. He routinely visited the Bulls' practice facility, and he recalls one day when Pippen and Horace Grant invited him to lunch. "I was three hours late coming home, and the cops were at my house when I got home because my mom didn't know where I was," he said.

There's been a flurry of casting news surrounding Marvel Studios movie Thunderbolts this week. Top Gun: Maverick and Lessons in Chemistry star Lewis Pullman has an offer to replace Steven Yuen as Sentry after Yuen exited the project due to scheduling issues. Additionally, Geraldine Viswanathan is set to join the film replacing Ayo Edebiri, who is also departing the project due to her schedule. It is also said that audiences can expect to see Rachel Weisz and Laurence Fishbourne in the project portraying their respective MCU characters Melina Vostokoff and Bill Foster. Our pal James Gunn didn't leave us hanging this week with his announcement that Milly Alcock was cast as Supergirl. Alcock is best known for playing young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen on HBO's House of the Dragon, part of the Game of Thrones universe.  The Last of Us has secured their directing talent for season two and it's chock-full of award winners. Mark Mylod, who just won an Emmy for his work on the final season of HBO's Succession; Kate Herron, who directed the first season of the Marvel Studios series Loki; Stephen Williams, nominated for an Emmy for directing on HBO's Watchmen; and Nina Lopez-Corrado, nominated for an Imagen award for directing on season two of HBO's Perry Mason. Will Mom and Dad ever stop fighting? And by Mom and Dad of course we mean…Marvel and Sony. The studio giants are reportedly unable to see eye-to-eye about the direction Tom Holland's Spider-Man should go in a fourth Spider-man film. Sony is understandably trying to boost their Sonyverse with a crossover event that would include Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men, but Marvel sees things differently. Marvel desires that Holland's Spider-Man continues with a more grounded approach that is intuitive to the character. Multiple Spider-Man appearances were scrapped from the upcoming Madame Web movie that Sony is putting out. Christopher Nolan's film Tenet will be rereleased in IMAX theaters from February 23 to March 1. The first trailer for the upcoming remake of the 1989 classic film Road House starring Jake Gyllenhaal has been released. The film will debut on March 21. Tom Hollander, a British actor known for performances in Pride & Prejudice, the Pirates of the Caribbean films, The White Lotus, and The Night Manager, spoke on a recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers about a time he was mistakenly sent a box office bonus check meant for Tom Holland for his appearance in Avengers films. Hollander said "“It was an astonishing amount of money. It was not his salary. It was his first box-office bonus. Not the whole box-office bonus, the first one. And it was more money than I'd ever [seen]. It was a seven-figure sum.” A four-issue limited comic series called Darth Vader - Black White & Red will be on sale starting April 25. Colman Domingo will be starring as the legendary singer Nat King Cole in a movie musical from a script he co-wrote, Variety learned exclusively. He will also be making his feature directing debut on the project. After a year-long search for Trevor Noah's replacement on The Daily Show, former longtime host Jon Stewart has agreed to return to host the program. Stewart will appear weekly throughout the 2024 US Presidential election. While speaking to ComicBook.com about her Paramount+ series Special Ops: Lioness, Zoe Saldana said she would be willing to play more superhero roles as long as they didn't require the extensive makeup process used to create her MCU character of Gamora. "If it never gets to happen, or if it happens with other filmmakers, and not James Gunn, or if it happens again with James Gunn, I would be so grateful." Later this year, Marvel Comics will apply their What If...? concept to the Alien franchise. A five-issue run will be released, following the character Carter Burke and what happened after.

This new Silicon Valley Uncle Sam wants YOU to have your eyeball scanned by the ORB, so that YOU can verify your humanity! Sometimes, the truth seems more implausible than prophecy!     In Revelation Chapter 13, terrifying beasts emerges from the sea and the earth, embodying the collective supernatural force of worldly political power and influence. The second beast enforces a WORLD wide mandate requiring all people, regardless of status, to receive a mark on their right hand or forehead. This mark, known as the "Mark of the Beast," is a symbol of allegiance and complete surrender to worldly authority over Divine authority. Without this mark, people are unable to partake in economic activities, indicating the profound surveillance and control the beasts exert over humanity.   We live in unique times. Here in the good ole' USA, the introduction of bar codes and credit cards created MOTB fervor during the 1960's and 70's. Microchips have been part of the discussions for just as long. The rise of the Internet brought platforms for digital money like PayPal, who in 1999 offered $10 to anyone who who opened an account by giving their name, email, phone number, home address, and bank/cc info, and $10 more dollars for each referral (Enticing, but an incredible amount of info to give up at the time for $10 of internet dollars).    The first decade of the 21st century would be met with social media (the rise of Facebook and YouTube) and our willingness to freely give away mountains of private information for the mere ability to participate in a closed, heavily surveilled/captured network.    The economic crash in 2008 set up the the Rise of FinTech or Financial Technology in the 2010's. A loss of trust in traditional banking institutions allowed startups like Square, Stripe, and Venmo to disrupt the market with innovative services like peer-to-peer lending, robo-advisors, and mobile banking. The 2008 Great Recession also gave rise to Bitcoin whose technological breakthroughs established the first transparent monetary network based on the computational consumption of energy using distributed ledgers creating digital scarcity and immutability, or “hard” Digital Assets. Bitcoin laid the groundwork for the emergence of the Crypto Markets and Smart Contract protocols; a self-executing contract with the terms of the agreement directly written into code, enabling automatic and decentralized transactions on the blockchain without the need for intermediaries.    Of course, the 2020's would be immediately met with a “global pandemic,” whose shut down and vaccine mandates sparked MOTB fervor not seen since the 1970's! And perhaps rightfully so.    And now here in 2023, the coalescing trajectory of money, science, technology and religion will make it more surprising if the MOTB prophecies DO NOT come to pass!    But we don't just say all this to be dramatic or to fear monger…   We say it because there are things out there that suggest no other conclusion. This mark, known as the “Mark of the Beast,” is a symbol of allegiance and complete surrender to worldly authority over Divine authority. Without this mark, people are unable to partake in economic activities, indicating the profound surveillance and control the beasts exert over humanity. We live in unique times. DESCRIPTION Inducted June 12, 2003 A 6'11″ center, Gminski played 14 seasons in the NBA. He had an outstanding collegiate career at Duke where he was named ACC Player of the Year for the 1979-80 season. A two-time All-American, Gminski is Duke's all-time leading rebounder and shot blocker. He was selected by the New Jersey Nets as the seventh overall pick in the 1980 NBA draft. During his seven seasons with the Nets, Gminski established himself as a tough player and helped lead the franchise to the playoffs five times. In his final season with the Nets he averaged 16.4 points and 8.8 rebounds before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. In his first season with Philadelphia, he averaged 16.9 points and 10 rebounds per game. The following year he averaged over 17 points per game and led the 76ers to the Atlantic Division title. During his NBA career, Gminski scored more than 10,000 points and grabbed over 6,000 rebounds, a feat accomplished by only a handful of players in NBA history. INDUCTION BANQUET PROGRAM STORY — June 12, 2003 EXCELLENCE AND CONSISTENCY By Tom TarapackiNPASHF Board Member / Polish American Journal More than twenty years after leaving Duke University, Mike Gminski's name remains prominent in the illustrious basketball program's record books. The former two-time All-American remains the Blue Devil's all-time leading rebounder and shot blocker, and third-leading scorer. But when his collegiate playing days ended, the 6-11 center also enjoyed an outstanding 14-year NBA career, and is one of only a handful of pro players to score more than 10,000 points and haul in more than 6,000 rebounds. The great-grandson of a Polish immigrant from Karkow, Mike Gminski was born on August 3, 1959, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He grew up in nearby Monroe, where he attended Masur High School. Encouraged by his parents, Mike played tennis, baseball and football, and developed into one of the state's best high school basketball players. He was also a very good student — so good that he was able to leave high school a year early, a fact that most college recruiters overlooked. Mike struck up a friendship with a Duke player named Terry Chili at a basketball camp, and decided to make the Durham, North Carolina school his first visit after his sophomore year. He “fell in love with the campus” and committed to the Blue Devils. At Duke, head coach Bill Foster was trying to rebuild the program that had not been to the NCAA tournament in more than a decade. It became apparent very early that his freshman center could help him do just that. In his first season Gminski averaged 15.3 points and 10.7 rebounds for the 14-13 Blue Devils, and was named Atlantic Coast Conference 1976-77 co-rookie of the year. As a sophomore Mike averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds, earning first-team All-ACC honors. Even better, the Blue Devils posted its first of three straight 20-plus win seasons. Duke also won the ACC tournament for the first time since 1966, and made the NCAA tournament field. Mike had an excellent tournament, including a 29-point performance against Notre Dame in the semi-finals. The Cinderella Blue Devils made it all the way to the 1978 national championship game, where they battled valiantly but lost to Kentucky, 94-88. Mike had 20 points and 12 rebounds in the game, and was named to the All-NCAA Final Four team. As a junior Mike had an incredible season, leading Duke in scoring (18.8), rebounding (9.2), blocked shots (66), dunks (44), and field goal shooting (51.9%). He earned All-American honors and was named ACC Player of the Year. Duke complied a 22-8 mark and qualified for the NCAA tournament, but lost in the first round to St. John's. In the 1979-80 season the talented center was again a first team All-American, posting career highs in scoring (21.3), and rebounding (10.9). Mike also set a school single-season record for blocks with 97. His senior season also marked the third time that the history major was named an Academic All-American. That season Duke struggled down the stretch amid rumors that head Coach Foster would leave following the season. The Devils were seeded sixth for the ACC tournament and had little hope of landing an NCAA bid unless they won it. Duke responded by beating the top three seeds and winning the ACC crown. Duke advanced to the regional quarterfinal of the NCAA tournament before losing to Purdue. Gminski ended his collegiate career with numerous school records, and still holds Duke's career records for rebounds (1,242) and blocked shots (345), and is third in scoring (2,323 points). His jersey, number 43, was retired by Duke shortly after he left the school, and he was later inducted into the Duke Sports Hall of Fame. “G-man” was then selected in the NBA drafts first round (7th overall) by the New Jersey Nets. Gminski helped revive the struggling Nets, who made the playoffs in five of his seven seasons. He displayed a consistently outstanding all-around game, and was particularly known for his shooting touch. In fact, in four of his NBA seasons he hit better than 50 percent of his shots from the field. Gminski came into the league at about 240 pounds, but bulked up to as much as 270 pounds. Following his rookie season in New Jersey, Mike contracted a serious infection in his back after having surgery on an injured elbow. He was in critical condition for three days with a 105-degree temperature before doctors were finally able to successfully control the infection. His weight fell from 265 pounds to 215 pounds during his hospital stay. Mike was traded by the Nets in 1987, after enjoying one of his best seasons (16.4 points per game, 8.8 rebounds per game). He was among New Jersey's all-time leaders in several categories. He was second in games played (550), third in minutes (13,638), rebounds (3,671) and blocks (599), and fourth in points (6,415). Gminski went to Philadelphia, where he continued to excel. In his first season (1987-88) with the 76ers he averaged a “double-double”, with 16.9 points and 10 rebounds (along with 118 blocked shots). The following season Mike enjoyed his highest scoring average (17.2) as a pro as the 76ers won the Atlantic Division with a 53-29 record, but lost in the playoffs to Chicago. Those 76ers teams were among the best that Mike played on in the NBA, but he enjoyed the camaraderie as much as the winning. “The closeness of the players reminded me of my teams at Duke,” he recalled. In 1990 Mike was dealt to the Charlotte Hornets, an expansion franchise in its third year in the NBA. He has had a good first season upon his return to the state of North Carolina, but suffered a herniated disk. Injuries began to take their toll, and in 1994 he was traded to Milwaukee for Frank Brickowski in what was basically a salary move. Not wanting to become a “basketball vagabond” jumping from team to team, Gminski accepted an offer from the Charlotte Hornets to join their broadcast team. He stayed there for eight years, until the franchise moved to New Orleans, and then Mike joined the Fox Sports Net telecast team as a lead analyst. He lives in North Carolina with his wife, Stacey Anderson, and their son, Noah. Gminski continues to receive recognition for his athletic achievements. Last year he was named to the ACC 50th anniversary team. He also was named to the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame. He was also chosen as one of a group of 25 finalists for induction into the Verizon Academic All-American Hall of Fame. While Mike Gminski is widely considered one of college basketball's greatest players, he certainly does not receive his due as a professional athlete. He was not a flashy player who drew headlines on or off the court, but Gminski's career totals are quite impressive. They include 10,953 points, 6,480 rebounds and 989 blocked shots. He was skilled in all facets of the game, and was a well-linked and respected teammate wherever he played.

We talk about Ant-Man and the Wasp and the things you missed if you don't read the comics. Hear about Ghost, Bill Foster, Project Goliath, Elias Starr, Janet Van Dyne, and more! Talk with us on Twitter and Reddit. Links from the discussion… The quantum realm is known as the microverse in the comics. Ghost from the comics is almost nothing like this. Ava Starr is a new character for the MCU. Bill Foster is from the comics, code name Goliath. He was killed by a clone of Thor in the first Civil War series. Jimmy Woo was a member of the FBI before later becoming an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Elias Starr is the Egghead! And he doesn't have anything to do with Ava or Ghost. Janet Van Dyne was a founding member of the Avengers as Wasp. The disturbing domestic abuse history of Hank Pym. News You Can Abuse! The kids don't like “Eternals” but they don't like anything. Are we getting the Thunderbolts in the MCU? Spider-man: No Way Home rumors can't stop, won't stop.

Phase 3, Episode 8. Peyton Reed returns to directed Ant-Man and the Wasp starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Peña and more! Pat and Mike talk about whether or not this movie unfairly suffers from an audience let down coming off of the epic Avengers: Infinity War. Mike will dive into the various villainous obstacles placed in Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne's way, rather than an actual villain for the movie. Pat will trace the history of Bill Foster, Ghost, Egghead (yeah, he's in this) within the comics, while also breaking down why we're not allowed to call the Quantum Realm by it's true comic name - The Microverse. The Age Of The Aquarian Hello, and welcome to episode 325 of The Fantasticast. Each week, Steve Lacey and Andy Leyland guide you through every issue, guest-appearance and cameo of The Fantastic Four. The finale to both the Project Pegasus Saga and our coverage of books cover-dated in the 1970s is finally here. Many questions will now be answered. What is Bill Foster really doing at Project Pegasus? Why is Wundarr so important to the story? What exactly was Dr Lightner up to? Why were so many villains being kept in the basement? Just how long did this entire saga actually last? Mark Gruenwald, Ralph Macchio, George Perez, Gene Day, Carl Gafford, John Costanza, Roger Stern, Jim Shooter, and Terry Austine present Marvel Two-in-One #58 - To The Nth Power. Can this issue really put The Thing against a second dimensionally-powered villain whose body functions as a gateway to another realm in as many issues? Well... yes... but this one is much better! A couple people responded with examples:Kyle says “Hey Peter, was just listening to the podcast from yesterday and got to the point where you and Ben talked about Marvel actor switching to DC. It's small, but Laurence Fishburne is Perry White in DC and Bill Foster in Marvel.” Damon says “Re: your conversation on about actors active in both MCU and DCU, although Djimon Hounsou's Korath was killed in GOTG, he is returning in Captain Marvel.  He is also in Aquaman.” David C from California writes in, “Is there a movie song (or soundtrack) that you like, that comes from a movie that you don't?  Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me by U2 came on the radio the other day. I bought that CD back in the day, and I loved that song — and today I can't even recall if it came from the Clooney or the Kilmer Batman movie.    Being an old school hair metal fan, I really like the Last Action Hero soundtrack, but don't care for that movie. Thank you for your show.”Peter: The 1998 Godzilla soundtrack Chris: Man of Steel Ben: Space Jam soundtrack, Scotty Doesn't Know (Eurotrip), That Thing You Do! More people have written in with Zombie children movie suggestions:Tyler K says “I don't think this movie was mentioned but it was the first that came to my mind. It's called Cooties and stars Elijah Wood. I haven't seen it but I remember the trailer and thought that it was an interesting idea.” Gokul from New Zealand writes in “I've been following the antics of David Chen and the /FilmCast for years, and now that /FilmDaily is around, it has quickly become my favourite podcast to listen to during my morning commute.  Carrying on from your comment from last week about zombie children, I would like to mention one of Peter Jackson's early movies, Brain Dead, which features an awesome zombie baby.   Without getting into spoilers, there's a scene with the baby and a blender that is just spectacular and even a little bit cathartic (no I'm not sadistic or twisted, it makes sense if you watch the movie) :)  I hope you check the movie out.  Love your guys work, and if any of the /Film crew ever come back to New Zealand (sorry I missed your visit here HT), I would love to have a drink or two with you and talk movies” Anthony C writes in “Hey Peter! I am long time reader of /Film and listener of /Film Daily. I wanted to get your opinion on if you need a college degree or cinema studies background to work in the world of film journalism. Also, is there a "beginners guide" on how to make an entrance into the film writing community? Right now I am in college and have been in college for what seems like forever. I have switched majors several times and I am starting to feel discouraged when it comes to finishing my degree. I am going for a degree in Environmental Health and Safety at the moment so that I can eventually make ends meet and be able to do something that brings me some kind of joy, but ultimately the degree I'm going for doesn't bring as much joy as watching films and reading/listening to people talk about films. I know it will be my decision in the end that will lead me to what I want to do in life, but I am just looking for a different look at this predicament. Thank you /Film team for all the amazing content you produce.” All the other stuff you need to know: You can find more about all the stories we mentioned on today's show at slashfilm.com, and linked inside the show notes. /Film Daily is published every weekday, bringing you the most exciting news from the world of movies and television as well as deeper dives into the great features from slashfilm.com.
