In this extended episode of “And Now We Drink,” host Matt Slayer sits down with performer Dante Colle for an engaging conversation that veers into a wide array of topics. Their conversation kicks off with a light-hearted chat about tequila preferences and quickly dives into deeper waters, covering everything from the intricacies of alcohol selection to personal workout routines and the nuances of vodka distillation. The discussion takes an interesting turn into reflections on living a healthy lifestyle, financial responsibilities, and the sometimes extravagant spending habits seen within the industry. Dante opens up about his own spending and lifestyle choices, including his preference for simpler living and investment in health over material goods. As the talk progresses, they touch upon the changing dynamics of the industry, including the financial implications of moving from studio work to content creation on platforms like OF. Dante shares his personal journey within the industry, revealing his decision-making process about potentially leaving the biz and exploring new creative ventures like his YouTube channel The conversation further delves into Dante's personal beliefs about the industry's impact on relationships and self-image, and the challenging aspects of dating within and outside the industry. Matt and Dante also discuss societal perceptions of SWers, the stigma they face, and the importance of respecting personal boundaries and consent. This episode offers a unique glimpse into the often private and personal thoughts of a performer, providing listeners with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of life in and out of the industry. Dante's candidness and Matt's probing questions create an episode that's as thought-provoking as it is entertaining, making it a must-listen for anyone interested in the realities behind the glamour. I was really stoked when Sinn Sage of Sage Advice Podcast messaged me that she'd like to come onto the podcast. Sinn is a veteran of our industry, a podcaster like myself, an intellectual, an advocate. She does so much in and for the industry that I was honoured that she wanted to speak her truth on the podcast. We speak about the intersectionality of queer rights and SWer rights and how closely related they have been. The crusade against queer and trans folks is eerily similar to the witch-hunt that is also happening to SWers. We look back on history and compare to what's happening in this current day and age. I shared such an incredible conversation with Sinn and we hope that you enjoy the episode as much as we did recording it! https://sinn-sage.com x.com/sinnsage onlyfans.com/sinnsage Don't forget to LIKE, RATE, SHARE, REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE! twitter.com/strippedbysia instagram.com/strippedbysiapodcast Patreon.com/strippedbysia www.strippedbysia.com
***TRIGGER WARNING: Mentioning of doxxing*** This is a heavier episode. I can't sugarcoat it and nor should I on such a serious topic. Doxxing is something that happens to SWers unfortunately, more often than you think. My friend, Lulu Adore, was doxxed recently by a complete stranger just a few short weeks ago. She has wanted to come out with her story to warn others that, despite being careful and private about her life, it still happened to her. Not only that, but Lulu also shares, in extensive detail, the backlash she has gotten from her parents and family with her participation in SW. It's not pretty. It's not sugarcoated and nor should it be. This podcast episode is around to share the very real details of the realities that some folks have to live and I thank Lulu for her bravery on speaking out. It's great to sprinkle in a lighter episode every now and then and this week is no exception! I am delighted to bring on FSSWer, writer and media contributor to Petit Mort Magazine, Katarina Quinn, onto the show! This whole episode is dedicated to talking about how SWers are represented in some of the hottest shows and films over the last couple of decades. On this week's episode, Katarina and I discuss and analyze the representation of SWers in Sex and the City, White Lotus, The Menu and Poor Things. I've seen 3 out of the 4 media pieces involved here and *spoiler alert* if you haven't seen these shows and films and intend to, there might be some spoilers! I loved chatting with Katarina on her approach on how sex workers are viewed. https://twitter.com/katarina_quinn https://msha.ke/katarinaquinn For the month February and March, I will be showcasing several small SWer owned and operated businesses in an ad in within these show notes. It is contest week at the time of recording and also when this episode comes out so of course, I had to source and expert to speak about all things contest week. Now, what is contest week? Contest week varies from platform to platform and from various corners of the industry, but it gives SWers an opportunity to cash in on time-sensitive incentives, make more bank and be online more for their fans. I've brought on industry veteran, Bella Vendetta of Treasure Cams onto the show this week who shares her expertise on what's worked for her and her models. Bella has done almost everything in the adult world and now as studio owner of Treasure Cams, she sets up and helps her models be as successful as they can be. A lot of her models regularly rank during contest week so Bella gives us a little 4-1-1 on what has worked for them. ***TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of border detainment, rape and sexual assault.*** Very excited to chat about a topic that has been on my mind lately and I'm really glad that our guest this week, Nina Lira, a FSSWer based in Frankfurt, Germany, materialized and came into my line of sight. Nina has spent an extensive time living in Paris, France, and has embarked on many successful international tours in Canada, the USA, and Europe. Nina brings to us her years of expertise in the field, detailing with us her experiences crossing the border, finding safe accommodation, dealing with hotels and concierges, blacklists and setting rates. It is far from a "one size fits all" situation. Her rates in Canada differ than her rates in Europe, the USA and vice versa. That, and she also shares with us the precautions and steps needed to successfully enter a country with no problem. Nina, despite the many steps she takes to ensure a country seamlessly, has also had a terrible experience (as did I) getting detained at one of the international borders and with so many more SWers getting detained, suspended or even banned from certain countries due to our line of work, this is a conversation that is not only long overdue, but so needed during this time. On this episode of And Now We Drink host Matt Slayer and guest Stoya have a captivating and dynamic discussion of a range of topics that is sure to keep you engaged. In this podcast episode, Stoya shares her experiences of moving to Serbia and the cultural differences she has noticed compared to the US. They also delve into non-monogamy, societal norms surrounding marriage, and the pressure to constantly release new scenes. Stoya's experience with education and common knowledge is also discussed, as well as the importance of self-care for SWers and the devastating effects of social isolation during the pandemic. The conversation covers a lot of ground, from the differences in masculinity between American and Serbian culture to the history of propaganda and its impact on the adult industry. Slayer's experiences traveling to Cuba and negotiating prices as a tourist also add a unique perspective to the podcast. Throughout the podcast, Matt Slayer and Stoya share witty banter and offer insightful perspectives on a variety of topics. They touch on serious issues like the stigma surrounding SW and the need for mental health support, as well as more lighthearted topics like the benefits of being a cool aunt or uncle versus being a bad parent. It's a glorious long weekend here in Canada and since you're all at home (or maybe hustling!), I wanted to bring you a great episode with none other than Leya Tanit. Leya is the founder of Pineapple Support, therapy and additional support for sex workers. Leya, a long-time veteran in the BDSM space identified early on in her career that there was a lack of accessible therapy in the SW community. Because our work is so highly stigmatized, it can be challenging for SWers to find therapists who are qualified to provide support for those in our field without feeling judged. That, and some therapists hold biases or haven't even undergone the correct sensitivity training to work with marginalized groups. With this in mind, Leya went on to create Pineapple Support to fill the void. Leya breaks down the current offerings that Pineapple Support provides, some on a sliding scale and goes over the many free services that the organization provides and goes over who it services. In need of extra support? With 24/7 and countless services, you'll want to check out Pineapple Support. https://pineapplesupport.org/ https://twitter.com/pineappleysw Fox Digital is an official partner of the show. Ahhhhh, this is a highly anticipated episode! I am very excited to bring on friend and fellow workaholic, MelRose Michaels of SWCEO onto the show this week to speak about emerging technologies surrounding artificial intelligence (AI). Why might this be a topic of interest, you ask? With so much attention diverting to AI-run software, platforms, and simulations, there was a lot of chatter going on in various communities I am part of to speak about how AI might affect SWers. We address topics like if our work is threatened, various marketing techniques that we, as creators, can use to our advantage, and even some ongoing research on how they are using AI to track down "victims" of human trafficking amongst escort ads. It's a lot to take in but MelRose, who is an avid content creator and SWer herself, regularly keeps up with new additions in tech in general and in the sex tech space. It's a great conversation to listen to to perhaps shift negative perceptions about technology and really hone in on the opportunities that it is creating for us. https://melroseuncensored.com twitter.com/melrosemichaels onlyfans.com/melrosemichaels instagram.com/melrosemichaels onlyfans.com/melrosemichaels Fox Digital is an official partner of the show. With Twitter being observed as the next platform to go down, it's important that we look at other avenues to keep our online presence alive. We've talked about diversifying in the past but hey, those platforms can disappear in a minute as well. We've briefly mentioned it before but it's becoming more and more apparent that having your own personal website might be the best way to go. I've invited my webmaster, Anthony of Fox Digital, to come onto the show to have a candid discussion about the importance of good web design. Anthony has done my website, www.strippedbysia.com (launching December 1st!), and has done countless websites for FSSWers. We chat about free or templated website design services vs. custom, what to look out for in a good website, how to find a trustworthy website designer and what you might expect about costs. We understand that not everyone is in the position to purchase and maintain a website but go over options that might be of interest to you - a great conversation for SWers starting out and extending out to those who and ready to go full custom, a must listen! This week we are delving into the story of Maimie Pinzer, a Jewish SWer born in Philadelphia, PA in 1885. Her life was brilliantly preserved in a remarkable correspondence she had with a wealthy philanthropist, Fanny Quincy Howe. The Maimie Papers is Maimie's side of that correspondence and gives us another first-hand account of the lives of SWers at the turn of the twentieth century. The Maimie Papers was written by historian Ruth Rosen, an award-winning journalist and Professor Emerita at University of California Davis. Ruth Rosen joins host Kaytlin Bailey to discuss the life and legacy of Maimie Pinzer. ***TRIGGER WARNING*** Mention of money talk, body image, sexual assault.*** It's about time I conducted this long-awaited episode about Reddit with my colleague, Suki Jade! Suki is a FSSWer, Twitch and Discord streamer, the Social Media Director at PS Group, and Reddit pro. Having been in the industry for 10 years, Suki's done it all. She speaks to us about her background and as an undiagnosed person on the spectrum explains to us why SWer has been her career of choice. Having been an early adopter to Reddit, Suki knows all the ropes. She provides us with an overview on what Reddit is, how best to use it and what to avoid. There are a lot of rules in Reddit and we hate to say it, but it's a man's world and the platform caters to it. However, there is room for all types of genders and SWers to really thrive on the platform and Suki gives us some intel on her strategies on how she does this for herself and her clients. ***TRIGGER WARNING*** Mention of the Robert Pickton case; murder and assault.*** I know so many SWers that have PHDs or that are working towards getting their PHDs. Moreover, there are people outside the scope of our community who are studying us and are constantly on the lookout for SWers with lived experience to share their experiences to contribute to their research. Even with the best intentions and ethics set in place, there are times where SWers are still getting exploited in this space for their time. I speak with Evania from The Sex Work Historian, a blog dedicated to sex work advocacy in Canada. A PHD candidate herself, Evania has been impassioned to support SWers responsibly within her field. Being in academia comes with a privilege. Evania, as a ciswhite woman in academia, is fully aware of her privilege and the roots of academia which has built a foundation on classism, ableism and racism. She provides us with her own personal practices on how she exercises inclusivity, acknowledgement and sensitivity training when communicating and working with SWers. Although this episode is focused on allyship and the parallels of academia and sex work, these tips can also be utilized for anyone who might be intimated on getting involved with sex work support. There has been so much interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain and decentralized systems and with our payments methods constantly being threatened by big financial processors, people have been seeking out alternative methods on how to get paid and other platforms that we can thrive on. Lorilee Fedler, the founder of Fantasy Digital, reached out to me to speak about her new company, a creator-specific platform powered by blockchain. We speak about what we can expect from the platform both as a client and as a creator, how it is structured to "give back" to its creators, and the incentives for all parties. We also discuss and explain in entry-level terms what a non-fungible token is and how Fantasy Digital is injecting more value behind their NFTs. A brief, yet needed discussion on ownership, anonymity and why this might be a viable option for SWers. Lastly, we discuss the monthly NFTease contest that Fantasy Digital is putting on and what that might entail. Of course, I'm no expert at this so I continually would encourage everyone to do their due diligence and conduct proper research before getting into this. We're in full swing for Season 5! This week, I am bringing on Princess Snow Angel, or Snowy as I like to call her. She is a cam model who shares her story of growing up in a small town, discovering the freedom of cam and the adult industry and how it got her out of there. Throughout her story, Snowy tells us how she was doxxed by a fellow family member, the borders and walls she's had to build up around her family and goes into some other toxic relationships she's had with friends and those around her. These situations, sadly, are not unique to those of us in the adult industry and can be quite commonplace. Although it's a sad reality that happens to many of us, it doesn't mean we should have to go through it alone. Snowy shares with us how she was able to cope, divulges in the support she had during that time, and, like an anthem, comforts us in the fact that life goes on and that we, as SWers, are a resilient bunch. Listen to this powerful episode with Snowy. Watch the video exclusive only on Patreon: patreon.com/strippedbysia I will also be hosting a STRIKE YOUR POSE, a free webinar with PS: Group on Thursday, October 7th at 2pm PST / 5pm EST to elevate your marketing game! What is up Internets! This is the Self defense from all angles podcast, where we are expanding the conversation around self defense and protection by talking to real people who face violence in their everyday lives. This week I'm talking with Sera In this episode we cover - Dangers of De-Humanizing - Why people have trouble with SW - What is helping SWers have normal lives More on Sera I'm a world travelled, internationally touring Canadian companion with a penchant for coffee, animals, and rainy days. I have worked in the sex industry the majority of my adult life as an independent escort, agency escort, adult masseuse, exotic dancer, adult party entertainer, adult content creator, webcam model, and professional sugar baby. This has taken me across multiple continents and many countries, both for work and pleasure. All of these career choices have been made of my own volition with no external pressure. I have chosen this profession and the lifestyle that goes along with it, and it has shaped the person I have become while providing me with a level of freedom many others only dream of having. Due to the inherent dangers present in my line of work I have sought out self defence training in the past, and over time developed a preference for learning an educational style over a focus on hard skills. I find the tools developed in that training help prevent a violent situation from occurring, which is far preferable to dealing with a violent situation as it is happening. I have worked together with hundreds of sex workers from all walks of life all over the world, and each one has a unique perspective and a different story to tell. At the end of the day, I am just a regular person living my life to the best of my ability and enjoying the ride! Take a listen, and as always please; like, comment, share, and subscribe, you know all the internet things, And if you REALLY like the show, please leave a review on iTunes or wherever you listen, It will mean so much to me. Really stoked to bring on cam model, TikToker and YouTuber extraordinaire, Emily Jones, onto the show this week! Emily started off on Cam Soda as a cam model having zero clue on what it was. Soon after, she migrated over to Chaturbate and never looked back! This episode focuses on the virality and success she's had on TikTok and how we, as SWers, can use that platform to our benefit. As with most mainstream platforms, there are Terms and Services that we must abide by to be allowed on these sites and Emily so graciously shares with us her tips and tricks on how she manages to stay relevant, how to get on the FYP feed, and how she navigates the platform without getting banned. Emily, a seasoned streamer, also is excitingly about to launch her new enterprise, The Streaming Site, which is like Amazon, but she's done all the heavy lifting for us and has streamlined all the best products and equipment to make your stream a success. This is such an insightful episode for myself, a millennial who has no idea how to even use TikTok like a regular person, and for anyone else who is planning to jump on the bandwagon and use it to their benefit. Aries (@ari3s_bb) is a sex worker of 6+ years and started str!pping almost 4 years ago. They have also worked with grassroots and political organizations throughout this time, practiced their str!pper smile while working a 9-5 barista job, and been inching closer and closer to a bachelor's degree along the way. After trying out various fields of study—from visual art to political science to religion—they discovered they could translate being super gay and in love with women (and never shutting up about it) into a degree and landed in Women and Gender Studies. This has allowed them to do research around SW, SWers, race, gender, class, media, communication, justice, religion, and violence against marginalized groups. Aries is currently a semester away from graduation, str!pping in Philly and making spicy content. They're also blowing up on TikTok where they share SW, str!pping and spiritual related content with their 55,000+ followers! We chat to Aries about: their experience dancing in Philly; being a SWer in academia; peoples' misconceptions regarding the dangers of the s3x industry; tips for staying safe as a SWer; gatekeeping informative within the SW community; female patrons being terrible in the str!p club; the crossover of spirituality, psychology and other methods of healing with regards to s3x work; and a ton more! As always, have a wonderful week and happy wh0re-ing !

I've been dying to do an episode on virtual assistants for a while but never got the chance to connect with anyone that was a right fit for the episode...UNTIL NOW. I am extremely pleased to introduce Dabby Longlegs to the podcast this week! Dabby is a multidisciplinary artist and sex worker who, as one of many of the gigs they have, works as a virtual assistant. Having equally worked their fair share in stints in sex work as well as the vanilla world, Dabby stumbled across a TikTok on how to become a virtual assistant. And in the digital world, that's where a lot of work is going! With many sex workers turning their work online, comes with an immense new threshold of mundane work that we just can't manage...which is where virtual assistants come into play. Dabby shows us the ropes when it comes to being a virtual assistant - what tasks are generally expected, what and who they like to look after, and the services they offer. Dabby also so graciously breaks down pricing and rates that they have personally adopted and to give insight on those who are looking for an assistant (including me!). Lastly, we go into the many transferrable skills that sex workers have and why this can be an excellent line of work for those who are choosing to exit the industry. It's a fun, information-packed episode that makes for a great listen and an even better watch! Really excited to bring this week's guest on the show to speak about money management. Sure, we, as sex workers, have the potential to make a lot of money. But what do we do with that? Some of us have short-term goals of buying that purse or pair of shoes we've always dreamed of and some of us have long-term goals like buying our first home or a car. The thought may be daunting whether or not you're in sex work and can overwhelming which is exactly the reason why I invited our guest, Lindsey Swanson of Stripper Financial Planning. Lindsey started her firm, Stripper Financial Planning after getting fed up with the corporate world and really wanting to help people who really needed it. Her goals didn't align with the old school, old boys' style of financial corporations so she left and started her own company. Lindsey offers financial assistance on taxes, real estate planning, and health insurance for sex workers and those outside of the community. Have a call with her if any of these are on your brain! www.stripperfinancialplanning.com @stripperfinancialplanning twitter.com/strprfinplan Don't forget to LIKE, RATE, SHARE, REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE! @strippedbysia @siasteph twitter.com/strippedbysia Patreon.com/strippedbysia www.stephsia.com
***TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of rape and substance use and addiction.*** This week, I am joined by former FSSWer, Alexis, who heard my recent AMA which resonated hard with her on getting scammed that we connected shortly after and just had to do an episode together! I had originally planned to do an episode dedicated to scamming back in Season 3 which didn't work out so I am thrilled to have Alexis on to speak about this. Scamming. We've all been there. Didn't get the money upfront? Scammed. Picture didn't match his profile? Scammed. Client left you high and dry with something other than the money promised? Scammed. It's shitty when it happens but hopefully – just hopefully – we all learn our lessons after. But when we bring up the topic of scamming, it's hard to ignore that sometimes, we, as SWers, scam our clients. I really think it's important to mention the intent and motive here for context because hey, it's our job to provide services rendered for our clients in exchange for payment but some honesty may be lacking here when it comes to questionable work ethic. And let's not forget the unfortunate attacks that may happen from within our community. I hate to mention it but I'd be doing my own podcast a disservice if we don't mention the whorearchy and the danger behind other SWers attempting to scam other SWers and the attempts of pimping that sometime happen in our industry. There's shame and there's plenty of stigma, but we're here to have a transparent discussion about it. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the episode. As Alexis is no longer an active SWer, she would like to hear your thoughts! To respect her privacy, please kindly DM me and I would be happy to connect you with Alexis. The topic of this episode is, “What differences do women make in Congress?” My guest is https://gufaculty360.georgetown.edu/s/contact/00336000014RbbCAAS/michele-swers (Michele Swers), professor of American government at Georgetown University. She studies Congress, congressional elections, and women in politics. She has written a lot of research articles and book chapters, and also is the author of two books on women in Congress. The first one is titled https://amzn.to/3ozw9j8 (The Difference Women Make: The Policy Impact of Women in Congress). The second book is titled https://amzn.to/3Ho4URi (Women in the Club: Gender and Policy Making in the Senate). And, I would be remiss if I did not mention, she is the coauthor of https://amzn.to/3kEuRT2 (Women and Politics: Paths to Power and Political Influence). Kevin Kosar: Welcome to Understanding Congress, a podcast about the first branch of government. Congress is a notoriously complex institution, and few Americans think well of it, but Congress is essential to our republic. It's a place where our pluralistic society is supposed to work out its differences and come to agreement about what our laws should be. And that is why we are here: to discuss our national legislature and to think about ways to upgrade it so it can better serve our nation. I'm your host, Kevin Kosar, and I'm a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, a think tank in Washington, DC. It is to Professor Swers we now turn to learn about women in Congress. Professor Swers, welcome to the program. Michele Swers: Thank you, Kevin. Thanks so much for having me. I'm a big fan of your podcast. Kevin Kosar: Oh, thanks for saying. Let's start with a really simple question. How many women are in Congress today? Michele Swers: So, right now you have 120 women in the House. Eighty-nine are Democrats, 31 are Republicans. And in the Senate, you have 24 women, 16 Democrats, 8 Republicans. From those numbers, you can tell that there are more women who are Democrat than Republicans. And that's because the number of women really started to increase in 1992, and people called that the Year of the Woman, but it was really the Year of the Democratic Women. It was Democrats who elected more women at that time. They had a pretty good year that year. Even in years where Republicans had good years, like 1994, they elected more women, but not a lot more women. In 2018, Democrats elected another Year of the Woman, but they elected more women of color. So there was a lot of attention to that. And that's when I'm sure your listeners know that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez comes into the picture and Ayanna Pressley and some others. And then in 2020, Republicans did have a very good year. They went from 13 women to 31 in the House of Representatives, and they elected a greater mix of women and minorities. It was a good year from their perspective. But you can tell though that by these numbers, when Democrats are in charge, women have more access to the majority and seats of power. So women are about 40 percent of the Democratic caucus in the House, and that means they have some seniority level. In the House, on the Democratic side, anyway, committee assignments work based on seniority, so you have more women who have access to be chairs. So Rosa DeLauro, head of Appropriations, or Carolyn Maloney as the Oversight chair, Maxine Waters at Financial Services — important committees. On the other hand, for Republicans, women are only about 15 percent of their caucus. They've had a woman in the conference chair position for a very long time — obviously turnover with different women. Most recently, Liz Cheney was pushed out, and Elise Stefanik is now the conference chair. But they don't have as many women with seniority. There are not as many women who will reach those committee chairmanships when Republicans are in charge. Right now you do have Kay Granger at Appropriations. She's the ranking member, so maybe she'll...
“So what do you do for work?” Whether we are “out” or not, it's the question we all dread. Holly & Jenna talk about why this question is so loaded for sex workers and share some of the more interesting reactions they've had when disclosing their line of work. Today I am joined by Bianca, the amazing photographer known as Behind Closed Doors (@_behind_closed_doors_). She spends the majority of her time lathering up beautiful women with baby oil and helping ladies to feel sexy and confident in their skin. We discuss: the challenges and rewards of having a successful career in photography; her decision to remain somewhat anonymous behind the camera; getting messaged by creeper men online; the dreaded Instagram shadow bans; the ridiculous double-standard of female censorship online; and the impact of working closely with SWers. Bianca also answers listener questions: how do I find a good photographer? How do I know a photographer isn't a creep? How do I start doing photography? What makes a “good” or “not as good” model? How has corona impacted your photography work? Thanks for listening and happy hoe-ing!
episode on the issue of White feminists not including trans women Swers or WOC in their agenda. Also gonna teach you a little about black womanism. Hello my dears!! It's been a wild couple weeks for the strip club world here in Vancouver - several local strip clubs were closed down for alleged covid related issues. So, of course, we share our thoughts on the closures and how we have seen media and Bonnie Henry target SWers. We also review the @investorstripper investment course, share our “idiots of the week”, and discuss how corona has potentially contributed to more online harassment and misogynistic behaviour. Thanks for listening! Have a wonderful week and happy hoe-ing!!

Swers, a political scientist at Georgetown University, studies women in congress: the challenges they face in getting elected and the tensions they confront once in office. She's charted the careers of Republican women in congress especially closely, as the issue of reproductive rights has become a litmus test in electoral politics.
