Franchise business growth is an exciting yet complex process that requires more than just a strong business concept. Scaling a franchise takes a combination of the right mindset, effective leadership, and strategic systems that support expansion. Entrepreneurs entering the franchise space often believe that purchasing a franchise automatically guarantees success, but the reality is that growth depends on how well the business model is executed. One of the most overlooked aspects of franchise success is the importance of leadership at both the franchisor and franchisee levels. A thriving franchise brand is built on more than just its products or services; it is sustained by the people who operate it. Owners who take full responsibility for their business and actively engage with their franchisor's systems are the ones who achieve the highest levels of success. Franchisees who fully embrace the brand, follow proven strategies, and engage with fellow franchise owners are far more likely to scale their business effectively. Those who approach the opportunity with a passive mindset—expecting the brand to generate success for them—often find themselves struggling to keep up. Mindset plays a critical role in franchise business growth. Entrepreneurs who succeed in franchising see challenges as opportunities rather than roadblocks. Every business will encounter obstacles, whether it's difficulty securing financing, managing a team, or navigating changes in consumer behavior. The most successful franchisees are those who take an active approach to problem-solving, leveraging the tools and resources provided by their franchisor while also seeking guidance from others within the network. The ability to remain adaptable and open to new strategies is what separates those who scale quickly from those who stagnate. Franchise expansion also depends on strong marketing and sales strategies. While the franchisor provides brand recognition and overarching marketing initiatives, local-level marketing efforts are equally important. Many franchisees make the mistake of relying solely on corporate advertising, expecting customers to show up without taking additional steps to build local brand awareness. The most successful franchise locations prioritize community engagement, leveraging digital marketing tools and local partnerships to drive foot traffic and increase visibility. Additionally, understanding the full range of services a franchise offers is key to maximizing customer lifetime value. Many consumers may come in for one service without realizing the full suite of products or services available, leaving untapped revenue potential on the table. Technology is playing an increasingly important role in franchise operations. Brands that implement AI-driven customer interactions, automated marketing tools, and data-driven dashboards give franchisees an advantage in tracking performance and making informed decisions. Franchisees who embrace these technologies can optimize their operations, improve customer experience, and ultimately increase profitability. However, technology should complement, not replace, the human element of business. Consumers still value personal interaction and strong customer service, which means technology should be used to enhance relationships rather than create distance. A successful franchise model is built on systems, but execution is what drives results. Training programs, financial benchmarking, and operational support all contribute to the long-term sustainability of a franchise network. However, even with these resources in place, the responsibility ultimately falls on the franchise owner to implement best practices and maintain consistency across their location. The most effective franchisees don't just follow the model—they optimize it, finding ways to improve efficiency while staying aligned with the brand's core values. Franchise business growth is about more than just increasing the number of locations. Sustainable expansion requires a balance of leadership, operational efficiency, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Those who understand that franchising is not just a business investment but a long-term strategy for success are the ones who achieve lasting growth. Whether entering the franchise industry for the first time or looking to expand an existing business, the principles of ownership, adaptability, and strategic execution remain the foundation for scaling a thriving brand. TINT WORLD FRANCHISE FOUNDER | CEOCharles J. Bonfiglio, Franchise FounderMy Career Path to Tint World® Growth and Becoming the #1AutomotiveFranchiseAt 21 years old, I started out in Brooklyn NY with a dream of moving to Florida and opening my own car audio and accessory shop. I purchased a one-way airplane ticket and flew to Fort Lauderdale with two suitcases over 40 years ago, and began my journey to own my own business. In my search to find a location to open my new business, I found that landlords did not want to lease to me and only wanted successful brand name businesses, and the banks did not offer loans for new startup businesses! As I continued to find ways to develop my new business, I was introduced to franchising, which provided me a blueprint for success. I quickly learned that franchising provided me the ability to obtain business loans, and to secure attractive lease locations for my business. Since there were no car audio and accessory franchises at that time, I became a franchisee of an auto repair business and grew my franchises to open 10 automotive franchises in South Florida. It was through that experience that I learned how to build a reliable staff so that I could operate more franchise locations. I also was able to leverage my franchise business success to buy real estate, construct buildings, and lease them to my franchised locations. During each 15-year franchise agreement term, I was able to pay off the real estate mortgages and later sell my franchise businesses for a profit, while holding the real estate ownership, and leases to collect residual rental income from the tenants.I would not have been able to reach this level of success without a franchise brand name with a proven business system behind me. In 2007, I decided it was time to live my dream of opening my own car audio and accessory business, but did not want to start from scratch, so I purchased a six-store chain in South Florida called Tint World® , to develop the unique, automotive franchise lifestyle brand that I always wanted. Today, I am a strategically driven entrepreneurial visionary, who provides value and success to others, though franchising! Lauren Kruse's husband was a car enthusiast and fell in love with the Tint World Franchise.  He opened the Kennesaw, GA location in July 2021 and unexpectedly passed away in September 2021, leaving Lauren with a big decision. Should she close the store she drove by every day or attempt to take on the role of a franchisee herself? At the time Lauren was a busy realtor and mother of 2 with another baby on the way. My parents owned a small clothing factory in Brooklyn where I grew up spending my afternoons working and learning how to run a business. After I got out of high school my choice was to either go to college or get a job. At the time my father encouraged me to open another clothing factory and so I decided to venture into the clothing business. However, I wanted to have my own brand so I hired a designer, trademarked a name, and made a clothing line. After shopping it around I finally landed a million-dollar retail order. While that sounds great at first as I read the contract I realized not only would I not get paid for the line until 90-days after the order was delivered but most of the risk still fell on me if they weren't able to sell the items quickly. What I realized, is while I liked having a brand I didn't like the business model of the clothing industry.  I decided to move to Florida and look for an opportunity to get into the automotive accessory market. After a couple of months, I went to the bank to show them my business plan and ask for a loan. However, I kept getting turned down because no one wanted to take a risk on a new business model. A little while after that I heard one of my cousins had opened a car oil change business in New Jersey. So I called him up and asked him how he was able to get started. What he explained is the business was part of a franchise and they had helped him through the process of building and opening the business. While it wasn't the automotive accessories business I wanted to open I decided to call up the franchisor and learn more. After getting pre-approved to open my first store I went back to the bank and as soon as I mentioned it was a franchise they were all about it and helped me secure a loan. That was when I realized franchising was going to be the shortest path to get a business open. In total, I ended up opening 10 stores and about halfway through opening stores, I started buying the underlying real estate to generate another revenue stream. I was doing well but I told my wife I still wanted to do what I had come to Florida for, open an automotive accessory store.  There was a local business called Tint World that I had taken my car into a few times and I thought it might be a good starting point. Fast forward a couple of years and I was able to buy the business and I turned it into a franchise model. We also expanded the product offering which helped create additional revenue streams because there is some seasonality in this type of business. Today we offer a wide selection of automotive and marine styling products and services. We also offer commercial and residential window tinting services.   Resources Shared: Tint World FranchiseThryv

Head over to IndyFranchiseLaw.com learn more! [0:59] Josh introduces today’s guest, Charles Bonfiglio, the president and CEO of Tint World. [1:58] Josh welcomes Charles to Franchise Euphoria. [2:21] Charles starts the interview by telling the audience about Tint World, which is an automotive after-market accessories and styling company and how he got involved with the business. [6:34] Charles made the decision to purchase the real estate tied to his Meineke locations which Josh points out is a great way to preserve a secondary asset in case something goes wrong with the franchise. [8:47] Over the years, Charles owned several Meineke franchises and sold them over the course of a few decades. He sold his last location when Tint World had about 30 locations in 2014. [9:52] Charles was actually not the creator of the Tint World franchise. When he first moved to Florida, somebody had already created the concept, and while he anticipated they would be a competitor at some point, he ended up partnering up with him to franchise. [11:51] Tint World became a franchise in 2007. As of today, they have 71 stores, several of which are outside of the US. [12:54] Tint World provides its franchisees with a system, a platform that will take care of heavy lifting, branding, marketing, support, among a plethora of other things. [14:38] When Charles was making the Tint World franchise, he crafted it with all the features he would want himself if he was a franchisee. These benefits maximize the potential for franchisee success. [16:18] Tint World just released an e-commerce platform where franchisees can sell their products online. [18:41] Charles finds that having the “franchisee mentality” is the best way to run a franchise system; equipping them with the right tools and support is key for success. [20:14] In addition to being someone who likes automobiles, a good Tint World franchisee is someone who likes working with customers and has the ability to maintain a growth mindset. [22:18] One of the biggest challenges Charles has faced as a franchisor has been setting and achieving goals for their average store sales and continually pushing the boundaries to get their sales even higher. I am so glad that today’s guest and wildly successful entrepreneur, Joey Fazio, and I were recently introduced by a mutual friend. Growing up in a military family, his life was a bit atypical as his father was gone often (at age 12 his dad was deployed and didn’t come home for three years). Joey left his parents’ home at the age of 17, joined college a little after only to eventually drop out at age 20 and join the military (Air Force) himself.   Always having an innate drive for success and dreams of bigger things, he left his secure military job to pursue the unknown. Unfortunately, his wife at the time (who had two children with) did not share his passion, and they divorced. So, at the age of 26, Joey started over with a negative net worth, but knew he would become a multi-millionaire by age 36. Spoiler alert: He’s now 36 and a multi-millionaire.   You don’t want to miss this episode as Joey shares his amazing, but sometimes difficult entrepreneurial journey. I truly appreciated how authentic and vulnerable our conversation was and I know that you will resonate with it as well – especially on topics of relationships, money and giving back.   --   Question Highlights:   What were you feeling like when you were starting over with nothing? What is your advice for those who feel someone they love is holding them back? What did you learn in the military that you use today? Where can someone develop discipline if they haven’t been in the military? Of your business, which is your favorite? Where does your insane entrepreneurial drive come from? Would you be able to make as big a difference as you do now without money? What does money mean to you? How do you want your kids to grow up viewing money and opportunity?   In This Episode You Will Learn:   About how Joey turned a negative worth into millions Advice on what to do if you have an unsupportive partner or spouse Why discipline is essential to growing a successful business The importance of working from the bottom up in a company Why time and opportunity is more important than money How Joey raises his kids to view money And so much more…   Joey’s Thoughts…   “Time is the most valuable resource that any of us have.”   “Act now – the sooner the better.”   “Couples that share goals and have the same vision have a much higher chance of succeeding than those with separate goals.”   “If you don’t have the partner who supports you and sees your vision – leave.”   “Start at the bottom. Work every position. Be the smartest person in the room.”   “If you have the opportunity to put yourself in a position of power and that truly helps people and makes a difference – do it.”   “You can’t help anyone from the bottom.”   “If you piss off 10 people to help a million – do it.”   “It’s not about the money, it’s about the opportunity.”   “If you’re going to help, go all in.”   -- Joseph Fazio, is a seasoned entrepreneur who has owned and operated businesses for 18+ years. Joseph has owned/owns 4 different franchised business models as well as proprietary concepts and start-ups. Specific to restaurants, Joseph owns several Denny’s franchises and is a certified restaurant operator. Joseph, has won multiple awards with the Denny’s organization and was named IFA Franchisee of the Year and was awarded by Congress in 2013 for work two Tint World stores that he owned.   Joseph, holds college degrees in both Computer Science and Human Resources Management and is a Disabled Veteran having served six years in the United States Air Force. Since separating from the Air Force, Joseph has owned/operated over 20 businesses and has excelled dramatically in both the fitness and entertainment arenas. In 2016, Joseph sold the largest outsourced personal training and gym management company in the United States, after growing his company to 2,000+ personal trainers and managing over 300 gyms. During this time, Joseph created the supplement company “FitStrong” that sponsored/managed 6 top 10 Olympians as well as roughly 100 other athletes/ambassadors. During this time, Joseph perfected athlete and celebrity marketing/management and currently works with some of the biggest names in social media as well as professional athletes and entertainers.   Joseph is now a multi-unit franchisee of Crunch Fitness and is developing Phoenix, Arizona. He has expanded the FitStrong brand to include nutrition shops, and is in the process of becoming the franchisor. Joseph, brings a plethora of business, marketing and branding knowledge to any team. The two founders' passion is highlighted in their values : exacting standards of quality, consistency, pleasure and flavor, as well as the cosy atmosphere in their shops. Paolo Benassi : "Our objective is to make the highest quality gelato as naturally as possible with no artificial colours or flavorings". Very soon their success allowed them to open more stores in many prestigious locations. The crowds in front of their shops are very much a part of the summer scene in various capitals. Cristiano Sereni : " greatest satisfaction is allowing people to discover, through Amorino, the magic of authentic traditional Italian gelato... it's part of my home, my native culture". The creation of each new flavor of gelato starts with the most rigorous selection of sourced ingredients, combined with the patience and skill of our highly trained chefs. We, at Amorino, are fully conscious of the requirements that are needed to make perfect gelato and we won't rush that delicate process. For each new recipe, we push ourselves to maximise the flavor and taste. How? By simply using organic and natural products, by sourcing our ingredients directly from reputable suppliers and by ensuring that we oversee every stage of the production process. In 2005, Cristiano Sereni and Paolo Benassi were able to centralize their gelato production which allowed them to combine their valuable know-how with new techniques from the drawing board to actual production of each flavor. Paolo Benassi "We insist on keeping a close eye on the production of our gelato to thus be able to guarantee the highest standard of quality to all our customers. In order to achieve this consistency, our products arrive at each shop ready to be served, this avoids the risk of product alteration and we can guarantee that our customers will enjoy the same experience regardless of where they go to buy it". Cristiano Sereni " Our gelato and sorbets are churned everyday in typical Italian fashion under the very watchful eyes of our chefs. Our recipes take into account the needed for the gelato to mature, to allow each flavor to develop to its full potential. We use only the freshest free range organic eggs and the highest grade whole milk. Absolutely no colouring agent or artificial flavors will be found in our gelato - this is one of Amorino's fundamental principles".http://www.amorino.com/en/shop/atlanta-lenox-mall.197.htmlhttps://www.facebook.com/AmorinoUSAhttps://twitter.com/AmorinoUSAInterview with Michelle JordanAll About People, Franchise Owner“Every day, lead by example, work with purpose and help those we serve find the power to grow.” Who We Serve: Talent At All About People, not only are we going to serve you during your job search, we're going to help you find and land your next career.
