Kelsey is a Gulf Coast media personality. She talks about her love for the legendary musician, businesswoman, and mother that is Beyonce. This also spurs a conversation about representation in our culture. [00:02:57] You were an anchor, reporter, producer of the 60th anniversary of the Desegregation of UGA documentary. And that is when you realized that you had to be a journalist. After graduating, you got a job in advertising and quit and moved to Pensacola. [00:04:58] The documentary was all about the process of Charlene Hunter Gault and Hamilton Homes, who were the first two black students to ever go to UGA. I just knew that whenever I saw it on screen, that I had to be a storyteller. [00:06:29] "I love it. I'm loving being by the beach, and of course, I grew up on the coast in Kingsland. Nothing beats the Gulf Coast. The water is just immaculate. The people here in Northwest Florida have been really kind to me " [00:07:50] What is one of your favorite things about the Gulf Coast so far? The seafood is fantastic. How much love and support there are for our veterans. The fact that this is the home of the Blue Angels, that was an experience for me. [00:08:40] We're here to talk about Queen Bee herself, period. Music has always been a big part of Reagan's life. What is it about Beyonce for you? What is the draw? [00:13:14] One of my earliest memories of Beyonce was being at my grandfather's house in St. Marlow. How many people have memories connected to Beyonce? Fungs. There are a few other episodes of this show that we think you'll love. [00:17:57] I truly believe that Beyonce just has a gift from God. She is able to transcend space, time, race, culture, music, genre. It's the work ethic that makes Beyonce other human. There is a very select few of people that can do both immense talent and immense professionalism. [00:23:39] When you were 13 and you saw her for the first time in concert. It was an out of body experience. Representation matters so much and it's easy. It's to have someone say you saw a black woman again, top ten most powerful person on the planet, period. [00:29:51] Beyonce has pretty much always been private. There is a negative side to the fandom. What does the future look like for Beyonce? I want her to go on another tour.

How Florida Gators Football Inspired Studentloanplanner.com ‘s Travis Hornsby - Pensacola FL

Join Christian Jones and Regan Bell with their guest, Travis Hornsby, as they chat about his favorite football team: the Florida Gators. Travis is the founder and owner of Student Loan Planner, a student loan advice company. Today, he shares how the team gave him a sense of community and helped him in terms of decision-making. There's a lot to take away from this episode, so make sure to tune in and enjoy the show!   A Sense of Community Sports have always been part of college culture because it unites students. In addition, the university spirit and solidarity bind everyone together despite differences. So Travis felt a sense of community when he started watching the Florida Gators football games. Everyone cheers in unison for their team, and there is belongingness. Having experienced these football games became a defining moment for Travis. One of the reasons he chose to take the path to corporate America was because he was taking a Real Analysis class. Yet, Travis realized he had no time for watching football – a thing he liked – and he was stuck doing math proofs since he had to. That made Travis pivot away from it and end up becoming a student loan consultant. The community he found within the Florida Gators, even only as a mere spectator, randomly touched his life in many ways.   Sports and College Applications When a college team wins the championship, it brings pride to the university, even bragging rights. Besides, college is also a formative moment of youth that defines what would be in the adulthood stage. Travis says that from his experience on campus, it was happiness and excitement for him to see all the successful people around him. He was there at the time that Tim Tebow was the star player for the Florida Gators. Travis articulates that when a college football team is doing well, there is a surge of university applications. In contrast, it is the opposite when a college football team is in the dumps; university applications are low. It is one of the reasons why Travis thinks college football, in general, is interesting. There is the fun social benefit of higher education given the atmosphere and entertainment to the students.   About Travis Hornsby: Travis Hornsby is a speaker and the founder of Student Loan Planner, which he launched after helping his physician wife navigate ridiculously complex student loan repayment decisions. To date, Student Loan Planner has consulted on over $1 billion in student debt. Travis is a chartered financial analyst and brings his background as a former bond trader trading billions of dollars. Trying to solve the student loan crisis brought him out of his first retirement at 25. Travis brings that same intensity to analyzing the best repayment paths for graduate degree professionals with six figures of student debt. To date, he's consulted on over $595 million in student debt personally, more than anyone else in the country.   Outline of the Episode: [02:44] How Travis retired from the corporate industry at 25 [07:29] Deceptive advertising of college and student loans [08:46] What drove Travis to become a fan of the Florida Gators football team [16:15] Impacts of the pandemic to sports [20:23] The atmosphere on campus during the Tebow mania [23:48] How Travis keeps up with the game scores while abroad [26:56] When people have a disconnect for college football [39:34] Dangers within the college football fandom [44:08] What future Travis sees for the Florida Gators [45:26] A brief outline of what Student Loan Planner is about Get Raw, Unedited Episodes, from FANtastic People, Access To Our Discord Channel and Submit Questions for Upcoming Guests: https://fantasticpeoplepod.supercast.tech/ Resources: Website: https://www.studentloanplanner.com/   Connect with The FANtastic People Podcast! In his free time, he watches science fiction movies of the 50s and 60s as a pastime. Today, he talks about his fascination with science fiction films in the 50s and 60s and events of that period which greatly influenced them. There's a lot to take away from this episode, so make sure to tune in and enjoy the show!   A Product of Its Time Cheap effects, weird-looking, and plainly old – that is what most people would describe science fiction movies from the 50s and 60s. But for Jared, these come with the complete package. The social, cultural, and political motives that influenced these films made Jared fascinated with them. After World War 2, American science fiction films boomed their way into popularity which paved the way to the ones at present. The 1950s was the golden age of science fiction. Jared was also amazed at the art form applied to the movies. Practical effects were the only technology available at that time, yet the intention behind and the arduous production process fueled his obsession. The movies also reflect society and show a visual representation of what people thought of the future. An artist's imagination of how the world would look and the technology they believe would be possible is what Jared loves about these movies. While there are issues represented in these films that are now unacceptable, Jared reminds us that these are products of the time. It only shows how the times have changed, including what people believe in.   About Jared Miller: Jared Miller lived in Pensacola for 13 years, where he attended middle school and high school. Currently, he is a library assistant at a local downtown library in Casa Grande, Arizona. When Jared is not arranging the shelves at the library, he is time traveling 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and warring with the worlds on The Day the Earth Stood Still in the 1950s and 60s science fiction films. There's a lot to unpack, so stay tuned and enjoy the episode!   Why Doctor Who Lives Forever Doctor Who has been around for so long that it has cemented itself into pop culture. Experiencing the Magic of Walt Disney World with Brizheet Rentschler: Magical Vacation Planer Agent - Pensacola Florida

Join Christian Jones and Regan Bell with their guest Brizheet Rentschler as they happily discuss  Disney World and their magical experiences as children and today, as parents! Brizheet is a wife, a mother, and a Disney fanatic. She always loved Disney because she grew up in a Disney-oriented family. Now, she works at Magical Vacation Planner as an independent contractor. There, Brizheet helps clients experience the magic of Disney World without them stressing over the details. Today, she shares with us her story of going to Disney World for the first time as a child and eventually bringing her daughter there herself, reliving the magic all over again. There is a lot to unpack, so stay tuned and enjoy the episode!   Experiencing Disney World Through Your Kid's Eyes We would always treasure our memories of Disney World as kids, even when we grow old and become parents ourselves. But experiencing Disney through our kid's eyes is entirely different.  Brizheet, for one, said that her love for it being older now stems from her ability to take her daughter there herself. When we would go to Disney with our families as kids, we would make all these memories we would never forget, memories we would always look back on fondly. But once you have a kid, that magic is tenfold because when we take them, we become part of a memory they will also look back on fondly.   Disney is forever evolving, from their Imagineers to everyone else involved there. They always try to step their game up and do something better because they want to keep the magic alive. So every time you go, it will always be a different experience - as magical as your last visit, or even way better! For instance, when Brizheet took her daughter to Disney for the first time, she could only go with the kiddie rides, but she still loved it. Then, when her family went there recently, they went on the roller coasters—something new but just as magical. In the end, experiencing Disney through your kid's eyes is always worth coming back to because it keeps the magic of childhood alive in all of us.   Reliving The Magic of Childhood We love going to Disney for many reasons, but indeed, one of them is to relive the magic of your childhood. At Disney World, we get to drop our baggage at the door and be a kid again, and that feeling is irreplaceable. For Brizheet, she would go there to feel again what she felt as a kid and make some more memories as an adult. While “being a kid again” may sound cliche, there is still a kind of magic in reliving childhood. It gives us a profound feeling that would never change even with age, just as Walt Disney had intended. After all, you are never too old to play like a kid, and Disney World allows you to do just that. They encourage you to be in the moment, to be immersed in the experience with your favorite cartoon characters and the magic that those stories provide.   Brizheet's favorite thing about Disney is that it always feels like a vacation, which should be a given, but it is challenging to do, especially as a parent. But being immersed in Disney allows her and other adults to turn off their brain to a certain extent, where they find themselves enjoying the moment rather than dreading the reality that comes after. Disney does such an incredible job in making everything enjoyable! Their customer service is top-level just to make sure that we do have a magical experience, from the cast members, the security, and even the cleaning crew. They work hard to make our experience special, so that what we only have to do is enjoy every moment of it.   About Brizheet Rentschler: Brizheet Rentschler is a wife, a mother, and a Disney fanatic. Originally from Oklahoma, Brizheet graduated from the University of Oklahoma and now works as an independent contractor at Magical Vacation Planner. The agency aims to provide its clients with services to make beautiful memories without being stressed over the details. Hence, the saying “Experience the Magic; Leave the Planning to Us!”   Now, Brizheet resides in Pensacola, Florida, with her family. She also loves to travel with her family, so she always looks forward to helping others do the same, sharing Disney World's magic.   Outline of the Episode: [02:10] What it was like living in Oklahoma and why Brizheet prefers beaches over lakes [03:47] How she ended up in Pensacola and decided to raise a family there [05:31] The first time Brizheet went to Disney World and how her love for Disney grew since then [06:17] How different it is to experience the magic of Disney World through your kids' eyes [12:42] How many times her family has been to Disney and the perks of having an annual pass [17:35] What are her favorite park and rides at Disney World? [28:57] Her favorite thing about Disney and why she loves the place then until now [33:52] Her memory of the place that stands to her the most and her personal connection to Disney [37:50] A time when a visit to Disney went south for Brizheet's family [41:25] Her constructive criticism to fans of Disney World and how everyone enjoys the place differently [49:22] What the future holds for Disney and what Brizheet looks forward to the most about it [55:11] What Magical Vacation Planner is, where the idea came from, and how to get in touch with them   Resources Website: https://magicalvacationplanner.com/staff/brizheet-rentschler/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mvpzheet Email: b.rentschler@magicalvacationplanner.com   Connect with The FANtastic People Podcast! Join Christian and Regan with their guest Felicia Rabb as they talk about the Harry Potter universe and their fandom experiences. Felicia is the lead wedding planner and owner of Felicia By Design. Her love for Harry Potter began when the first book came out, and ever since then, that love only grew stronger. Today, she shares with us her story of finding a sense of belonging in the Potterhead community, along with her favorite character, book, and movie from the series. There is a lot to unpack, so stay tuned and enjoy the episode!  The Boy Who Lived and Inspired a Generation  Harry Potter has reached such a sizeable wide-net community that anyone in it can connect over something as small as a Harry Potter accessory. In this episode, Felicia, Christian, and Regan share what it was like growing up being part of such a significant phenomenon. Felicia shares that she's not even ashamed to run up to someone in a store and ask someone if they were a Potterhead after showing any indication of being one. Even a simple question such as “What is your house?” can make the conversation last for hours! While some people still make fun of Potterheads for it, that has never stopped the fandom from enjoying what they love. It is undeniably impressive how big the community is and how you can immediately connect with someone at a certain level.  In the end, Harry Potter is no longer just the boy who lived but the character who inspired generations to read again.    Harry Potter and The Future of its Property  People often wonder where such a beloved property like Harry Potter could go. In today's episode, Felicia and the hosts discuss their opinions on whether or not the Harry Potter universe should end while it is still good. With rumors of a new movie and tv series in the works, part of them does want to see more from the world, but another knows that “all good things must come to an end.” And, as with most things, these additions might not even be as magical as the first. But with a property as beloved as Harry Potter, businesses will always try to find opportunities to make it popular with the next generations to keep profit going. Hence, Potterheads are often conflicted with future iterations and projects based on the wizarding world. Then again, despite feeling conflicted, Felicia, Christian, and Regan pitch what they would love to see if the property does live on like the character.    About Felicia Rabb:  Felicia Rabb is the lead planner and owner of Felicia By Design. She was named Best Wedding Planner in VIP Pensacola's 2021 Best in Pensacola Reader Choice Awards. She has been doing events in the gulf coast area for over six years. Felicia first got her taste for events while working as a marketing coordinator for a local orthodontist. When she began planning the client events, the rest was history. She quickly fell in love with creating unique and detailed celebrations that brought people together.    Throughout her extensive career as an event planner, she has worked for well-known organizations, such as the Studer Community Institute and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida, gaining valuable knowledge and event experience along the way.    When she is not planning weddings and events, Felicia is most likely on the water. She loves paddle boarding and frequently visits different beaches with her mini–German Shepherd, Sniper. She absolutely loves to travel, and she is so excited that many brides are bringing her all over the community this year.    Outline of the Episode:  [03:11] What is it like to be a certified wedding planner  [04:08] Felicia's experience from growing up in Asheville to living in Panama City Beach  [07:20] How accents can be “weird”, and the many accents southerners can have  [11:27] Harry Potter: Felicia and the hosts' first experience with it  [15:59] How Harry Potter brought different people together  [17:27] The boy who lived and inspired a generation to read again  [19:56] What made Felicia a huge fan of the Harry Potter series  [22:20] Finding a sense of belonging in a fan community like Harry Potter  [24:06] How Harry Potter deals with adult themes, making it a good book for kids  [27:14] Who's your favorite Harry Potter movie characters?  [30:21] Dealing with main characters dying in the series  [31:11] How many times Felicia read the Harry Potter books  [33:52] The value of spending downtime in reading books  [35:26] Felicia and the hosts' favorite Harry Potter movie and why  [39:25] What's your least favorite book and movie?  [45:35] Felicia's take on where the Harry Potter universe will be going  [40:00] Where Felicia falls between Cursed Child and Fantastic Beasts  [48:57] What to do with a beloved property like Harry Potter in the future    Resources  Felicia By Design Website: feliciabydesign.com        Instagram: instagram.com/feliciabydesign         Facebook Page: facebook.com/feliciabydesignweddingsandevents     Connect with The FANtastic People Podcast!  Facebook Group: facebook.com/groups/4254286477937983  Facebook Page: facebook.com/FANtasticPeoplepod   Instagram: instagram.com/fantastic_peoplepod/   Twitter: twitter.com/FANtasticPeopl
