We are the humble warriors making the world a better place one action at a time. Be Uncommon!
We all make mistakes in life. Owning those mistakes are critical to our growth because there is no perfect person. We are trained to look at the gaps in our lives and that normally comes through our subconscious. It's been ingrained in us since early on in our lives. We're meant to make mistakes but we're also meant to learn from those mistakes and keep moving forward. The idea that always helps is understanding how to be blissfully dissatisfied. Results will come over time as we gain experience and continue to fail forward. When we learn from our failures then we can learn how to overcome them quickly and lean into others that may have been there before us. Remembering that you are the person you were meant to be right here and right now. If you're unhappy with where you are in your life then the next action you take can change everything for you. It's most helpful when we have people in our lives that are mentors that believe in us and help us bounce back quickly. My pastor talked about this the other week regarding three scenarios we all live inIf only - referring to the pastWhat Now - referring to the presentWhat if - referring to the futureWhen we do this it can cause regret, depression, and anxiety. But if we focus on those next actions, even baby steps, we can begin to identify the gains in our lives and reverse the mentality that holds us back from ever starting. Focusing on our gains and going back in time and counting our wins, even small wins, on the daily helps us bulletproof our minds from any outside forces. Just remember that you're here to live and fight another day. Focus on your gains from each experience rather than your gaps and you ultimately...Be Uncommon!
In this episode of The Uncommon Element your host, Josh Meunier, walks you through how to become more productive by changing your environment and getting into your flow state. It's important to understand that we're all fighting against our own brain when it comes to productivity and achieving our flow state. But focus is like a muscle. One that can be trained. It takes practice like any athletic ability, becoming an expert in any subject, or simply focusing on the important things in your life like your family, team, and yourself. Time blocking for productivity is very important. Setting time limits will give you a sense of urgency when it comes to being more productive. It won't happen overnight. It happens when you're ready and you've practiced enough to become uncommon. Entering a flow state and the ability to “multitask” is really your ability to switch back and forth with a trained focus muscle. Keep practicing and give yourself patience and grace when building this muscle. It takes 4.5 years to do an activity to give yourself a 99% chance to keep that habit for life. This is where your consistency comes from when you have discipline and patience. Remember to always Be Uncommon.

Accurate thinking is a combination of knowing who you are and what you want. What you want will evolve over time but it's important to enlist accurate thinking to ensure that you are setting yourself up for success in every element of your life. Most people drift through life with no idea what they want. They are trapped by the opinions of others rather than focusing on their own methods of control; one's own self. Too long to we waste time thinking and worrying about other people's opinions and judgements of us rather than the judgment of ourselves. The ladder is all that matters. On this episode of The Uncommon Element Podcast, your host, Josh Meunier, talks through his learnings from Napoleon Hill's book The Law of Success and the lessons brought forth by the greatest minds to ever live. In doing so he runs us through his life experiences and thoughts about each of the six items that Napoleon Hill addresses in his teaching from his chapter Accurate Thinking as being one of the 15 laws of success. Josh also discusses what it may mean for you and how you can tactically change your approach to thinking and getting what you want in every element of your life. So you can become Uncommon. Enjoy today's episode of The Uncommon Element Podcast. Napoleon Hill's conclusions on the six key elements to Accurate Thought:The mind can be controlled, guided and directed to creative and constructive ends. The mind can be directed to destructive ends, that if may, voluntarily, tear down and destroy, unless it is with plan and deliberation controlled and directed constructively. The mind has power over every cell in your body, and can be made to cause every cell to do it's intended work perfectly. All achievements of man is the result of thought, the part where his physical being of secondary importance, and in many instances, of no importance whatsoever except as a housing place for the mind. The greatest inspiration and all achievements, whether in literature, art, finance, industry, commerce, transportation, religion, politics, or scientific discovery, are usually the result of ideas conceived in one man's brain but actually transformed into reality by other men, through the combination of the mind and body. The majority of all thoughts conceived in men are not accurate, being more in the nature of opinions or snap judgements. Have you ever had up and down cycles in your relationships that have eventually lead to grief? I don't know about you but I've had a lot of grief in my life. It's something not proud of. I'm still learning how to move through situations that cause grief in my life. It's really difficult. I've looked into what Grief is and what it really means and how we experience it from a clinical perspective which really helped me become more self-aware of the feelings I was having. Those feelings of regret and loss that we all feel at some stage in our lives. Grief rears its ugly head in our lives at times when we least expect it. Could be the loss of a loved one, it could be the loss of a close relationship, or it could be a decision we made that created regret that lead to grief. When I look back on why grief happens in my own life it's normally centered around relationships. Denial: avoidance, predestination, numbness towards everything, building walls and shutting downAnger: frustration, impatiences, embarrassment, and even rage (story)Bargaining: guilt, shame, blame, anxity and fear, insecurities that breed perfectionismDepression: sadness, the feelingins of helplessness or hoplessness. Disappointment in ourselves that just make us want to numb the pain. This has been a big one for me. Acceptance: Self-compassion, pride, courage, and ultimately wisdom. It's important we get to acceptance. It's the wisdom that's created by forgiveness but the lessons remain. The quicker you get through these stages the quicker you become uncommon and the best version of yourself. Are you for R.E.A.L.S? In today's episode your host Josh Meunier breaks down core values and the importance they have served in his life. Many people talk about core values as a posterboard to put in your office or to slap on a company but they are much more than that. When identified and used correctly they become your foundation for every decision you make in your life, family, friendships, and the most important relationship in your life; the relationship you have with yourself. Today you'll learn how to tactically identify your core values by identifying who you are today and who you want to become in your life. Legends weren't created overnight. It's the constant work, grind, and drive that gains and sustains the ultimate fulfillment in our lives. The journey through life has lead Josh to experiences that would shatter the old person he identified with as someone living up to what others wanted for him rather than him living up to what he wanted to himself. Reflecting on his life he was able to establish five fundamental core values that lead his decision making in every element of his life that has allowed him to live an uncommon life. What does R.E.A.L.S stand for? R = Relationships MatterE = Extreme OwnershipA = Average is unacceptable, Excellence is essential. L = Love those who love you back.S = Strength through struggle. Find your uncommon element by being real with yourself about who is the REAL you! Then you can begin to identify what is serving you in your life and what is not. I made a commitment. One I'm not looking to go back on. That is Project Zero which means giving up alcohol for good. It aligns with my mission to be the most elite version of myself. It isn't that I can't control it. Although there are times that I couldn't. It isn't that I couldn't have one or two. But that becomes a slippery slope for everyone. It's not because I'm an alcoholic. It's because of the destruction alcohol has brought to my life in so many ways. I've watched it tear my family apart. It's ruined relationships that truly mattered to me that were lessons I now know we're important to lead me here. I hate waking up feeling like shit after a night of “fun.” I don't like the person that 1/100 comes out that devalues the relationships I have in my life that are important. That doesn't align with my core values of “relationships matter.” When I talked with my business coach he told me the only number that matters in my accountability when we talk is Zero. Zero drinks of alcohol and it immediately clicked. I'll remove every obstacle I have to in order to reach my peak performance. I love the fact that I can still have fun without it and I don't judge those who want to enjoy their cocktails either. Project Zero is just another step I'm my continual evolution and dial the fuck in. It gets me closer to being uncommon. If you want to be a part of Project Zero please reach out to me! We're putting together a network of supporters that will all help each other set the standard in life. To be uncommon.
