Appelé à la barre, il a demandé "pardon", reconnaissant avoir fait "beaucoup d'erreurs journalistiques malgré (ses) bonnes intentions", selon un journaliste de l'AFP présent dans la salle d'audience. "Je réclame votre clémence pour pouvoir retrouver ma famille", a-t-il dit avec émotion. Cet après-midi, 10 ans de prison ont été requis en appel à son encontre, ce qui serait une peine supérieure à sa première condamnation.Collaborateur des magazines français So Foot et Society, Christophe Gleizes, 36 ans, a notamment dit qu'il aurait dû demander un visa de journaliste au lieu d'un visa touristique pour venir en reportage en Algérie et qu'il aurait dû être au courant que certains de ses contacts étaient reliés à une organisation classée comme terroriste en Algérie.Patricia Allémonière, grand reporter, auteure de "Au Coeur du chaos", publié aux éditions Artaud, est notre invitée. Face au conflit qui s'enlise en Ukraine et aux craintes d'une expansion de la guerre à d'autres pays européens, Emmanuel Macron doit annoncer, ce jeudi 27 novembre, la création d'un service militaire volontaire en France. Le service militaire obligatoire, lui, a été supprimé en 1997 dans le pays. Quel souvenir en gardent ceux qui l'ont effectué ? Il y a d'abord les souvenirs, brûlants pour certains. « Des week-ends entiers à garder une ancienne poudrière en plein cagnard. On n'a jamais su s'il y avait encore des munitions. C'était un peu le "Désert des Tartares" », s'amuse un ancien appelé du contingent, en se remémorant son service militaire en France. Un souvenir au contraire glacial, pour d'autres : « J'ai passé le permis poids lourds lors de mes classes en plein hiver, dans la Sarthe, au sud-ouest de Paris, dans une base aérienne désaffectée où il faisait régulièrement des températures négatives. Un souvenir très froid. » « J'ai fait une préparation militaire parachutiste. On saute de 400 mètres, l'atterrissage peut être un peu brutal », confie un ancien participant. « Une vie rythmée par le réveil matinal, la prise des repas à des horaires bien précis, le lever des couleurs, les séances de sport... Il y avait une vraie fracture entre la vie civile et la vie militaire », détaille un autre. Une vie routinière et un travail souvent perçu comme besogneux. « Cela évoque des choses totalement inutiles pour moi. J'ai ramassé tout ce qui n'était pas gravillons au sol. On était censé enlever les brins d'herbe. Dès qu'il y en a un ou deux qui déconnaient, ils allaient en cabane », raconte cet homme. De longs moments d'ennuis, parfois ponctués de franches rigolades, liées à ces petites stratégies afin d'échapper aux sanctions. « ​​​​​​​Je me souviens d'un sergent-chef assez gros, rougeaud. On sentait qu'il aimait bien titiller du goulot. Lui, son grand plaisir, c'était de faire un trafic de pneus. À l'époque, autour de l'armée, il y avait plein de petites combines comme cela. C'était la "combinazzione" », décrit cet ancien appelé. Cet homme, aux cheveux longs qui tombent sur les épaules, se souvient de sa surprise après les avoir rasés : « ​​​​​​​Mon père m'a à peine reconnu quand je suis retourné en permission. J'avais les cheveux coupés courts. » De longues années après, les souvenirs des uns et des autres sont partagés, concernant leur service militaire. Pour certains, l'épisode reste douloureux : « ​​​​​​​C'était un très mauvais moment. Douze mois difficiles. » Certains ont su tirer profit de cette parenthèse militaire dans leur vie : « Je faisais des études de sciences politiques. J'ai toujours aimé la sociologie des organisations et de l'armée. C'était un cas pratique merveilleux. » D'autres mettent en avant le brassage social qu'ils ont vécu. « Moi, j'appartiens à la classe moyenne, plutôt confortable, mais j'étais avec des gens qui n'étaient pas confortables du tout. Des gens qui n'avaient pas fait d'études, d'autres qui en faisaient beaucoup. Il y a de tout. On arrive quand même à fraterniser un peu. » À cette époque, le service militaire durait un an et était obligatoire pour les hommes. L'histoire de Charlotte de Belgique est celle d'un destin brisé, où l'ambition politique se mêle à la folie et à la solitude. Née en 1840 à Laeken, près de Bruxelles, fille du roi Léopold Iᵉʳ et de la reine Louise-Marie, elle grandit dans un environnement à la fois strict et intellectuel. Belle, cultivée, polyglotte, Charlotte incarnait la princesse parfaite d'une Europe encore gouvernée par les dynasties. Très tôt, elle épousa l'archiduc Maximilien d'Autriche, frère cadet de l'empereur François-Joseph. Le couple, brillant et romantique, semblait promis à un avenir heureux.Mais le destin de Charlotte bascula en 1864, lorsque Napoléon III proposa à Maximilien de devenir empereur du Mexique. Sous couvert de “civilisation” et de stabilité, il s'agissait d'une manœuvre politique française pour établir une monarchie catholique en Amérique latine. Séduits par le rêve impérial, Charlotte et son mari acceptèrent. En 1864, ils arrivèrent à Mexico, acclamés par une partie de la population, mais leur pouvoir reposait sur la présence de l'armée française. Dès le départ, le trône mexicain n'était qu'une illusion fragile.Rapidement, le rêve tourna au cauchemar. La résistance républicaine, menée par Benito Juárez, gagnait du terrain. Quand Napoléon III retira ses troupes en 1866, le couple impérial se retrouva isolé. Désespérée, Charlotte entreprit un voyage en Europe pour implorer de l'aide : elle supplia Napoléon III à Paris, puis le pape Pie IX à Rome, de sauver son époux. En vain. Epuisée, nerveusement brisée, elle sombra peu à peu dans la paranoïa et la démence.Pendant ce temps, Maximilien, resté au Mexique, fut capturé et fusillé par les troupes républicaines en juin 1867. Lorsqu'elle apprit la nouvelle, Charlotte, déjà fragile, perdit définitivement le contact avec la réalité.Elle vécut ensuite plus de cinquante ans recluse, d'abord à Miramar, puis dans le château de Bouchout, en Belgique. On disait qu'elle parlait encore à son mari défunt, convaincue qu'il reviendrait. La “folie de l'impératrice” fascinait autant qu'elle attristait : elle symbolisait la chute d'un rêve impérial et la cruauté de la politique européenne de son temps.Charlotte mourut en 1927, à 86 ans, après une vie entière d'isolement. Son histoire reste celle d'une femme emportée par les ambitions des hommes, devenue malgré elle le symbole tragique d'une royauté perdue — et d'un amour que ni la raison ni la mort n'ont pu effacer.
