Pro wrestling has long been considered somewhat of an art form - but some talented people think it's actual art. You certainly will after you see the work of the amazing Philadelphia-based Nick Clark, who creates some of the most memorable art and drawings about wrestling you will ever gaze upon. It's typical OWH as host Bob Smith (Pro Wrestling Illustrated's former managing editor) and Clark soon veer off into a myriad of topics, including women's wrestling, ECW, hardcore matches, the forgotten rules of wrestling, The Monster Factory, The Blue Meanie, and much more. In this pod, Dan Belshaw (Pastor of Light Church) discusses the theme of doubt in the Christian life, using Matthew 14:22-33 as the biblical passage for the talk. Doubts can paralyze us and Christians are not immune to them. But it doesn't have to be like that. Dan offers some perspective on making conviction-based decisions and committing to decision-making rooted in God's word. He says that doubts are not inherently bad, & can reveal areas in which our faith needs strengthening and are a mint opportunity to take them to Jesus who can give us HIS perspective. No fights to watch tonight. Instead, have a listen to the latest episode of Din's Got Answers, hosted by our pal and yours Din Thomas.Got questions about the UFC? Well, Din Thomas is here to answer them. Din will use his experience as a UFC veteran, analyst, comedian, coach to the biggest names in the sport, co-star of Dana White: Lookin' for a Fight, host of The Din Diaries, and more to answer your questions about everything and anything UFC related. On this episode, Din hits on three questions. First, what are the best rivalries in UFC history and why are they so important to the sport? Second, why is wrestling so effective in MMA? And third, Din gets into some WTF moments in the UFC, including Kamaru Usman getting knocked out by Leon Edwards at UFC 278 and the craziness of three fights being switched last minute at UFC 279.Din kicks things off discussing the best rivalries in UFC history. First, he goes back in time as he breaks down the rivalry between two iconic fighters, Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz. Then, he moves on to a rivalry that had a lot of tension, Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier. Following that, Din looks at a feud involving one of the most polarizing figures in UFC history, as he hits on Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier's rivalry. To close out, he touches on a rivalry with two all-time welterweight greats, Georges St-Pierre and Matt Hughes and then lets you know if rivalries are good for the sport. Why is wrestling so effective in MMA? Din has his answer and he hollers at his homie Greg Jones to chime in. Yes, it's that Greg Jones, one of the most successful collegiate wrestlers of all-time with three NCAA Division 1 titles at West Virginia and the current head coach at Kill Cliff FC. Greg gives insight into coaching some of the best wrestlers in the UFC, as well as emphasizing the importance of reps in competition and he provides his answer as to why wrestling is so effective in MMA. To wrap things up, Din drops his answers to some WTF moments in the UFC. Including the shocking knockout by Leon Edwards against Kamaru Usman at UFC 278 and the madness of three fights being switched last minute at UFC 279.Enjoy!Agree with Din, let him know. Disagree with Din, let him know. Got a question for Din, let him know. @DinThomas @UFCUnfiltered

The Lost Art Of Wrestling - Ps Bruce Claridge [25/08/2019 AM]
Tim Kail returns to cover a number of topics, starting with current pro-wrestling news and then moving into more conceptual & philosophical ideas about art. He shares his thoughts on Colt Cabana ending Art Of Wrestling and his invaluable contributions to pro-wrestling and podcasting, why Twitter can be so harmful and why the user must take responsibility for how they engage with others, whether or not CM Punk should return, Heyman & Bischoff taking over Raw & Smackdown and whether or not Summer Slam needs a bigger main event than Rollins vs Lesnar, and Jon Moxley's brilliant performances in New Japan Pro-Wrestling's epic G1 Climax. Then Tim shifts to AEW's corporate-family approach to narrative structure (that is not too dissimilar from another promotion that needn't be named), and he ends with an explanation of why pro-wrestling is bigger and better than any one promotion - what that means with regard to art, and why it gives him solace. Ring Of Honor Wrestling's "The Kingpin" Brian Milonas and referee Mike Crockett reflect on their long histories in the New England independent scene to give examples of the politics of pro wrestling, even on this small scale. From the tug-of-war between rival promotions - banning people from doing other shows, tearing down posters, running opposition on the same night on the same street, even VANDALIZING the property of competition - to the interpersonal political game in one promotion's locker room - refusing to do jobs, lobbying to bookers, the backstage hierarchy, referees jockeying for position - we discuss a lot, including Milonas' response to accusations of using politics to keep people out of his home promotion! PLUS, big news out of Brian's trip to Florida for Ring Of Honor: He's got a NEW NAME! Also in this episode, this Promo About Nothing will beat you like woah-eyed matches, Crockett's got his ticket to MSG and Kingpin talks about his debut on the Art Of Wrestling with Colt Cabana! On the show today I do a short reflection on the importance of wrestling with the divine, and how I've learned from my own experience that being honest with God, voicing your doubts, questions, frustrations and anger towards God is actually the sign of a healthy relationship with Him. I also talk about how sacred wrestling is something which deepens our faith, not weakens it - and finally about the voice of grace which says to us in those moments "Friend, do what you came here to do".
If God loves me, then why did He let this happen?
There is no one we wrestle more than ourselves. We live by faith to the extent we are willing to wrestle our own inner pain, insecurity, and fear.
Life can be overwhelming. How can God expect us to be spiritual people when we have to spend so much time in the "least spiritual" places?
Faith is like wrestling. God is less concerned with us believing or doing the right things; what matters more is not letting go.
